I'm just getting into Worm and hope you all enjoy this story that's stuck in my head. Totally don't own this series.

The WHSS

Armsmaster raced through the streets. There had been many reports that Lung was fired up and attacking people near the docks. He came to a sudden stop as he finally reached the location.

There was a group of five people talking and gesturing wildly at an unconscious and bound Lung. He disembarked from his motorcycle and cautiously approached the unknown capes while appearing confident.

The tallest member of the group was dressed in all black with dark red accents and appeared quite villainy, this would have made him more prepared to defend himself if it weren't for the other members being almost comical in contrast, although he didn't think they were funny. The group almost seemed annoyed by the boy dressed as a cowboy. There wasn't any sort of cohesion in their costumes. The slightly older woman was dressed in what looked like a candy striper outfit, the kind hospital volunteers used to wear, a white blouse under a white and red stripped dressed with white tights and gloves. The next group member was another girl, dressed in a blue version of what looked a lot like Glory Girl's costume only instead of a cape was wearing a dark cloak. The final member of the group didn't even seem to be wearing a costume wearing blue jeans and a flannel shirt, if it weren't for the domino masks they were all wearing he wouldn't even think the final member was even a cape but rather a random bystander that had been drawn into their heated discussion.

He found it necessary to clear his throat as they hadn't even noticed his approach. This wouldn't bode well for their safety if they were planning to become active in the cape scene. The group jumped as a whole and seamlessly took a defensive position as only people who had been training together for awhile could normally do. Armsmaster found himself having to readjust his evaluation of the group again.

"Are you villains?" he asked simply.

"What? No!" called Candy Striper as they relaxed their poses after identifying the newcomer as a well known hero.

"What happened with Lung?"

"We heard him saying he was planning to kill some kids and we couldn't just let him do that," Cardinal, as he had mentally dubbed her because of her costume colors, explained.

"But we think he actually meant the Undersiders now that the panic has subsided," Cowboy shared. "Probably revenge for stealing from him. Rumor is they stole from one of his casinos."

Flannel just kinda shrugged, "I mean we probably would have helped anyway. We were only out here because we were looking for Grue anyway."

"Grue is a known villain. Are you vigilantes then?"

"I think we are leaning to independent rogues," Cardinal explained. "I mean we all lean toward heroism but it's better to just be rogues. We decided as a group we really can't just join the Protectorate or the Wards."

Cowboy awkwardly patted her shoulder while Blue Glory wrapped an arm around her waist. Armsmaster had no way of knowing how many conversations had been had in their group about how things would easily go wrong and horribly for several of them if they tried joining the Protectorate or the Wards. Especially with what they'd figured out.

"The PRT will be here in 10 minutes to pick up Lung and the other restrained ABB members. Explain what happened," Armsmaster explained and demanded at the same time.

"Well, like we said, we were out here looking for Grue," Cardinal explained. "Heard Lung telling the ABB to kill some kids. So we stopped him. Gabrielle distracted him while I swarmed him using bugs. That's my power, bug control. And with VC and Achilles' help we were able to find the weakest spots for venomous insects to bit him. And then Gabrielle and Brigid made sure everyone was stable and unconscious while the rest of us tied them up. Lung was actually going into anaphylactic shock from the bites. He should be fine but you might want to have everyone checked over."

"What is your group called?"

"Oh. With everything going on we didn't introduce ourselves. I still haven't decided on a name but these are my teammates. Gabrielle (Blue Glory), VC (Cowboy), Achilles (Flannel) and Brigid (Candy Striper). We hadn't planned on debuting yet so our name is still a work in progress, we're currently going with WHSS..."

"WHSS?"

The group started to look a little uncomfortable.

It was Gabrielle, would was uncomfortably rubbing the back of her neck, who explained, "It stands for We Hate Shadow Stalker. She kinda caused all our triggers."

"What?"

"Yeah, it's part of why none of us want to join the wards."

"How could she have caused all your triggers?"

"Cause she's a sadistic bitch?" VC shared the obvious. "I mean, she cause my trigger as a civilian."

Cardinal, Achilles and Brigid all nodded in agreement.

"She caused my trigger in costume," Gabrielle said softly.

"You know who she is?" Armsmaster asked as he attempted to figure out what to do. He really needed to contact Dragon for advice.

VC nodded, "It's kind of obvious if you're stuck spending enough time around her out of costume. Took me paying attention to her for three days to figure it out."

"It took me a little longer, but I try to avoid her," Cardinal added. "Once I realized VC also knew we teamed up and started seeking out other people she'd caused to trigger. I mean it took awhile. VC and I both triggered after she became a ward but in civilian life. Gabrielle and Achilles both were triggered during her vigilante days and Brigid triggered before she started wearing a mask, possibly before she herself triggered."

Cardinal shook her head slowly, "How messed up is she if she's been going around causing so many triggers? I think the only ones who might have caused more triggers are the Slaughterhouse 9 and the Endbringers."

"I'm telling you that's why she's not locked up! They want her out making more capes," VC exclaimed passionately.

Cardinal sighed loudly, "This is why you keep getting banned in PHO Void. There isn't a conspiracy where people are deliberately making more capes."

"But T-" Void started to whine out before she slapped him upside his head, almost making him loose his hat.

"Cape names only!"

"But you haven't picked one yet!"

"I don't need to hear that from someone who just used his PHO name for his cape name!"

"But it was perfect! It fits my power!"

"I do need to ask your intentions," Armsmaster interrupted.

"About?" Cardinal asked confused as she moved her annoyed gaze away from VC.

"Shadow Stalker?"

"What about her? We're not really going to do anything besides keep an eye out so if it looks like she's gonna cause another trigger. If she does one of us will interrupt her and protect her victim. I mean we've known who she was for awhile and we haven't done anything. I think our group has the patience of saints. Although if you could enforce her probation that would be nice."

"The… WHSS?"

"We decided we'd take turns seeing what we could do in general to help out Brockton Bay. Our official debut was going to see if we could help out at hospitals. The city it super lucky to have Panacea but she's just one girl and she only works at Brockton Bay General. The city has more hospitals than that. So we're taking turns picking places that need help and seeing how our powers could help out. For example, Brigid has minor self healing powers, but with VC's help it can be redirected to help other heal. Oh yeah, VC's power is to redirect powers. Achilles can find weak points which could be used to quickly locate exact spots where someone is hurt, like exactly where someone's bone is broken. So Brigid would know the spot in most need of help. My bug powers can help too. Did you know that people still use maggots to eat dead skin to help heal? And my powers work on things like lice and tapeworms. And Gabrielle can generate light, she can make light shows that look like fireworks or laser light shows, things like that would cheer up places like a children's wing. She can also sense things like danger or if someone is close to dying so could figure out who needed help first."

This Armsmaster supposed would explain why none of them had reacted to his approach earlier since he hadn't registered as a threat to the girl. He had no idea that a black widow spider had crawled up armor ready to bite if he had done anything threatening.

"I mean we'll have to coordinate and probably get Panacea to double check our work before the hospitals would trust us. She doesn't wear a mask, but we do. I mean all of us together could potentially heal as much as she does," Brigid shared. "My healing powers only work on myself without VC's help so I've never been able to help out before. The girl needs more time off, if we can help out occasionally she wouldn't feel so much pressure."

The whole group nodded in agreement. Armsmaster had been aware that Panacea spent a lot of time healing but hadn't thought it was a concern before he saw the obvious concern the entire… WHSS had for her.

"Why were you looking for Grue?" Armsmaster couldn't think of any reason for them to look for the minor villain.

"Ah," Achilles decided to answer this one. "Shadow Stalker seems to have decided he is her arch nemesis. There are rumors that she recently shot him with live ammo and almost killed him. It seemed fitting to see if he was willing to join our group. As long as he's willing to give up his villain status we could help him re-brand and once we have a better grasp of what he does with his power we can help him find less villainous uses for it. We're confident we can help with almost anything he's dealing with as long as it isn't illegal. The same for the rest of the Undersiders, only if they go legit though."

"Why do you want to expand your group with villains?"

"We think it would be neat to be the largest group of capes in the Bay," Gabrielle explained. "We're really close and with the Undersiders we'd outnumber everyone. Although I suppose if Lung is down we're tied..."

"There are several groups with more than five members."

The group exchanged looks before Cardinal finally explained, "You've misunderstood. We're just the ones sent to recruit Grue. With just Grue we'd be more than everyone else combined. Shadow Stalker has caused A LOT of trigger events."

AN: Should I attempt to write more? I intended this as a standalone but can think of a couple possible time jump chapters. I'm still new to Worm so I'm not sure how good future chapters would be.
