Chapter 87: Invincible Deck Master - Miraculous Ark
"It's one of the special powers of my Deck Master, 'Shinato's Ark'." Noah bragged. "The Reception Ability has just activated. Every single Card in both our graveyards will now be removed from play and stored in the 'Shinato's Ark'. Seto, now even your 'Vampire Lord's Immortality Ability won't be able to activate. Seto, keep both your eyes wide open. These are the seven turns of the Creation of Heaven and Earth."
"Trying to shake me up by my wondering what will happen on the 'seventh day of creation' won't work." Kaiba snorted. "'Giant Flood' is a Card that destroys all Monster Cards on both players' fields and in their respective hands and graveyards. And because of that effect, your field is empty. My turn. Come forth, 'Spear Dragon'. Direct attack Noah."
"You sure underestimate me." Noah shrugged. "Do you really believe that attack will get through? I activate the second ability of mt Deck Master, 'Shinato's Ark'. Come forth, being chosen by the Ark." he brought 'Vampire Lord' from the Ark. "The second ability of 'Shinato's Ark': it's called 'Absolute Protection'. When my opponent holds more Monsters than I at the start of their Battle Phase, I can call out a Monster at random in Defense Mode. It's the second turn of Creation. Following that, the Earth entered the age of the dinosaurs." he added, the 'Shinato's Ark' rising into the air, the waters receding and the surroundings changed into dense foliage. "I Summon 'Giant Rex' 'Giant Rex', attack. 'Spear Dragon' is a Card that automatically changes into Defense Mode after attacking. Thanks to that effect, your Life Points remain unchanged, Seto. Seto, I said this right from the beginning, didn't I? That my very existence is superior to you in every way. Since I lost the flesh-and-blood of my body, I have lived on within this computer. I have been resurrected from the abyss of the dead as a being that exceeds all of your imaginations. I didn't know how to deal with it in the beginning. But I soon became surprised at how comfortable it was. It was boring at the least. That's because there's a hoard of information from the Human World stored within this realm. No matter how thick a book, no matter how complicated a set of data that would take an ordinary human several hours to absorb may be, my computer-like brain can register it in a matter of seconds. And because of that, I have learned everything there is to know about the Human World. I've learned everything dating back to when the universe was first born all the way to present world history. I know all the details. There is no human brain in existence that knows as much as I. Seto, the difference between your brain and mine is like comparing Heaven to Earth. You were nothing more than a test given to me by father so that I would become equal to that of a king."
"Creation of Heaven and Earth." Kaiba burst out laughing. "The age of mankind. If you keep enumerating everything about me on such a grand scale, you're only to going to sound like you're complaining. Whatever cruel tragedy stuck you in your past has absolutely nothing to do with me. But regardless of what you think you are, you're about as human as you can get. Because making such pretentious statements the way you do is nothing more than an excuse to seal away your heart from the world. That is precisely what any foolish human being who has chosen to slip into cowardice would do."
"Are you spouting all of this in some sad attempt to toy with me?" Noah scoffed.
"Then answer this," Kaiba fired back. "If Gozaburo really intended for you to inherit Kaiba Corporation, why didn't he entrust it to you, despite the fact that you were basically fading away like sand, instead of involving me the way he did? Why did he use such roundabout methods? I'm sure you have already noticed the reason. It's because Gozaburo couldn't trust his fortunes to someone like you, a trapping being inside an AI computer."
Kaiba's rebuke ignited Noah's memories as he recalled his beginning life within the AI computer; it was only after he presented his world destruction plan to Gozaburo that the former CEO of Kaiba Corporation made the decision to cut Noah off completely and focus on Seto.
"Despite how much information I had to offer, my father's love began to vanish all together." Noah snorted.
"Seems like Kaiba Gozaburo couldn't even foresee the effects it would have on the human heart." Ami spoke up. "Do you honestly not know why Kaiba Gozaburo chose Kaiba over you, Noah? Your callous disregard for human life had made it clear that you were nothing but a child; a child who never grew up."
"Mizuno is right about that." Kaiba concurred. "The truth is, the only thing you see is a world invented by another. But human society exists within extreme chaos woven by both light and darkness. And the feelings of those who struggle for the strength to live; it's something only people who live in realty can comprehend. Gozaburo probably started to become confused. After thinking over it for a while, he decided it would be best for you to compete against a real human being. In other words, he forced me into a competition with you. If you could win a battle of sorts against a real human being, he might have been able to acknowledged you as superior. He must have thought like that. How pathetic. You've lost every important aspect a human being needs while living in that cold world."
"Seto, you and Mizuno are mistaken." Noah chuckled. "I haven't lost my feelings as a human being. I have surpassed them. All so I can walk down the path of a creator."
"You're the creator of this man-made world?" Kaiba scoffed. "That really makes me laugh."
"Then allow me to prove just how well I understand the human heart." Noah accepted the challenge. "I shall make a prediction in the name of 'creator'. In the third turn of creation, something will shock the very core of your existence. My turn will end here."
"My turn." Kaiba took his turn. "I activate Magic Card: 'Pot of Greed'. Its effect allows me to draw two more Cards from my deck. I then activate 'Kaiser Sea Horse' Deck Master ability. He allows me to Summon a Light-Attribute Monster without the need of a sacrifice. As such, I can Summon the Level Five 'Different Dimension Dragon' without a tribute. I also place three set Cards. I end my turn."
"My turn." Noah took his turn. "Seems like you were never qualified to be my opponent. It looks like the result of this match will be decided this turn. I activate the Magic Card 'Deepest Impact'." he called forth a bombardment of meteors that took out 'Different Dimension Dragon'. "Watch carefully. The sun is stuffed out by the dust of a massive asteroid collusion. As a result, mankind welcomed the Ice Age." he also took out 'Giant Rex'. "'Deepest Impact' destroys every Monster on the field and the Life of both players is halved. I then activate the Magic Card 'Ice Age Panic'. This Card can be activated when I have no Monsters on the field. It lets me Special Summon an Earth-Attribute Monster on the field. I Summon '"Last Tusk Mammoth'."
"'Different Dimension Dragon', come back to the field." Kaiba recalled 'Different Dimension Dragon'. "Different Dimension Dragon' holds an effect that gives him the ability to travel through dimensions. Thus, the Magic Card you used before didn't work on it. It can't be destroyed in battle, either."
"Never mind it." Noah snapped. "'Last Tusk Mammoth', attack 'Different Dimension Dragon'. I knew about 'Different Dimension Dragon's ability from the beginning. Of course, I'm certain you're aware of of 'Last Tusk Mammoth's ability, right?"
"Trap Card: 'Ring of Destruction'." Kaiba countered. "I then activate the Quick Summon Magic Card, 'Ring of Defense'. It's my turn. I switch 'Different Dimension Dragon' from Defense Mode to Attack Mode. I'll then eliminate' Thunder Dragon' from my hand. I activate 'Thunder Dragon's effect. I can add two more of the Card from my deck into my hand. Fusion Summon: 'Twin-Headed Thunder Dragon'." using 'Polymerization', he fused both his 'Thunder Dragons'. "I'll then activate the Magic Card: 'Quick Attack'. Due to its effect, a Fusion Monster can attack on the turn it is Summoned."
"No matter how many times you increase the number of your Monsters you hold, it's all futile." Noah tsked. "Come out, chosen beings." he called forth 'Giant Soldier of Stone' and 'Giant Rex' from the 'Shinato's Ark'.
"Our result was decided just now, Noah." Kaiba laughed. "It's true that your Deck Master is the strongest and is invincible, but my dueling intellect far surpasses yours. This is the last trap I set for you. Activate now, 'Dragon's Rage'. Thanks to 'Dragon Rage's effect, when I attack a Defense Monster, with less Defense Points than my Monster's Attack Power, the opponent receives the difference in value as direct damage. 'Different Dimension Dragon', attack 'Giant Rex'. 'Twin-Headed Thunder Dragon', attack ''Giant Soldier..."
"Stop." Noah cut in, materializing Mokuba as a human shield.
"I won't forgive anyone who dares to hurt my nii-sama." Mokuba declared.
"That's right." Noah grinned. "Save me, Mokuba. He's the one bullying me here. He's our enemy. Because I took the liberty of sealing away his sorrowful memories, Mokuba now thinks of me as his brother. Mokuba protects me with his own free will. Because, you know, Mokuba is my precious otouto and all. Now Seto, you can defeat me with one more attack. Everything rides on your shoulders right now. Blow me away along with Mokuba. I'm certain I predicted this earlier: that something would happen this turn that would shock the very core of your existence. Hurry up and attack me, Seto."
