Chapter 100: And The Winner Is...

"Return, phoenix." Marik ordered, after 'Egyptian God Phoenix' incinerated 'Gilford the Lightning'. "You really are a tenacious man, aren't you, Jonouchi?" he admitted, seeing Jonouchi was still alive even after being hit by 'Egyptian God Phoenix's direct attack.

"My... turn..." Jonouchi breathed as 'Egyptian God Phoenix' vanished from Marik's field. "'Gearfried the'..." he played his Card, only to fall over due to the damage he had taken and 'Gearfried the Iron Knight' vanished from the field.

"We will now enter into a time count." Isono declared, just a Marik hurried over to catch Jonouchi before he hit the ground.

"Wait, Isono!" Mokuba scrambled onto the duel ring. "Jonouchi! Don't worry, he's still breathing." he assured.

"Because Katsuya Jonouchi is unable to continue, this duel is now over." Isono announced. "The winner of the first semi-final is Marik Ishtar."

"Onii-chan!" Shizuka ran over.

"Get the doctors, now!" Ami barked.

"Isono, call the medical team!" Mokuba shouted. "Have them take him to the Battle Ship!"

"You really did surprise me, Jonouchi." Marik admitted. "Your willpower is stronger than even God's attack. And for that alone, I acknowledge you."

"Marik." Kaiba voiced. "Jonouchi's defeat wasn't in vain. Not for me, at least. You've showed me everything in your duel with Jonouchi. I've seen all of Ra's abilities. And the key to defeating God lies in this Card."

"Then I wish you the best of luck." Marik walked off as the medical team hurried in.

"The second duel of the semi-finals will take place in an hour." Isono called for an intermission.
