After a moment of eerie silence, Mildred slowly opened her eyes and saw Bruno was holding the arm he held the knife in. She looked down and saw that the dropped object was the knife.

Everyone that held on to her was stunned and she used that opportunity to break free. The minute she was out of their grasp she ran a few feet away from them. When she stopped and turned she saw that no one followed her. She was so confused about who saved her. She turned towards where the shot came from and behind Bruno at a distance she saw a small imp with a rifle in his hands. What surprised her more was that the imp was Moxxie!

"Moxxie!" She yelled in surprise.

Bruno turned around and it was obvious he was ticked. But with Moxxie pointing a rifle at him, he couldn't move. Moxxie began to step closer while keeping his aim on Bruno. The moment he was close enough he said in a threatening tone that even startled Mildred. "Stay away from her or else."

Bruno's friends instantly fled. It was one thing to attack an unarmed imp in numbers but a completely another thing to go after someone with a weapon while only having a few imps who are also exhausted. None of them even wanted to risk their lives on that bet. Bruno was now alone and even angrier than before. There was no way he could allow himself to lose to a wimpy imp. Especially not Moxxie. He charged at him which caused Mildred to desperately yell, "MOXXIE!" A second bang was heard and Bruno fell to the ground. Mildred was stunned.

Just then Mildred looked at Moxxie and saw a scared look on his face. He dropped his gun and began to back away shaking. Mildred ran up to him in worry. When she got close enough she heard him muttering, "OH-OH crumbs. I-I-I-I didn't mean it. I-I-I h-had too. I n-never…I mean I…" it was obvious he had never killed anyone before and was freaking out about it. Mildred leaned down and hugged him.

She gently shushed him and calmly said while stroking his hair, "It's ok Mox."

"I-I Killed. I never…I mean I had too…but I…" Moxxie was still muttering.

"Mox." she released him from her hug, cupped his face, and had him face her. His eyes were watering like he was about to cry. "Thank you," she said with the most sincere smile.

Just those words were enough to silence Moxxie. He instantly calmed down but after a second he stared at the ground. "I'm sorry." Mildred released his head and listened to him. "I shouldn't have ignored you. I really am sorry but I thought it was the only way to keep you safe. Bruno threatened me and I realized I wouldn't be able to help you and would probably cause you trouble. I was scared that by being with you I would cause you to get hurt. I just didn't want that." He then looked at all the bodies and continued. "But even so you still were put in danger. I am so sorry. If only I never met you."

"Moxxie," Mildred said calmly. Moxxie stopped talking and looked at her. "I am glad I met you."

Moxxie was stunned. "But…"

"Quiet," Mildred said a little forcefully. "I told you this before. I am happy to be with you. You are smart, caring, and a great guy. I don't care if you could protect me or help me. I wanted to be with you." Moxxie still looked sad so Mildred continued. "I wanted to be with you because I love you."

Moxxie looked at her in surprise. His mouth began to open but nothing came out. He was stunned speechless. Mildred then took this moment to kiss him which caused Moxxie to turn an even brighter shade of red than he has ever been.

Moxxie then gently pushed her away which shocked Mildred since she thought she was mistaken but instead Moxxie said, "Sorry. I just wanted to say this first. I love you too…Millie."

Millie was so happy that he not only used her nickname but also confessed. She was so happy she jumped on him with another kiss. After a few seconds of a non-stop kiss, Moxxie suddenly shoved Millie away and she heard another bang.

When she looked at Moxxie he was clutching his shoulder while black blood began to drip from it. She looked over and saw Bruno, who apparently was still alive, barely holding onto the rifle. He had shot at them. Millie instantly saw red. She immediately launched at Bruno and began beating him with all her might. She even took his knife and began slashing at him. Even when it became apparent he was dead she continued to slice, stab and slash. She wound up cutting him so much no one would be able to recognize him. But then she suddenly heard a very soft, "Mill…ie." She froze and looked over at Moxxie who was now on the ground reaching out to her.

Millie stopped attacking Bruno's body and ran to him. She unbuttoned his shirt and found the bullet hole. She noticed it was just in his shoulder and the bullet went all the way through but he was losing a lot of blood so she ran to one of the bodies, ripped a piece of cloth off, and ran back to Moxxie. She bandaged him up the best she could and picked him up. Just when she was about to take him away a truck appeared and Millie's sister Sallie May stepped out.

"What happened here?" She said looking at all the bodies on the ground and Millie carrying someone on her back.

"Please help me!" She pleaded to her sister.

Sallie May was dumbfounded. Her sister has never pleaded to her like this. Even if it looked like it would be a pain in the rear later Sallie May said, "Fine. Get in."

Millie wasted no time and brought Moxxie to the truck, put him in, and instructed Sallie May on where to go. After a few minutes, they made it to Moxxie's house. Millie has never been inside but Moxxie pointed it out once but no matter how after she saw it Millie could never get us to it. It was huge. Not as big as the royals home but still a good size for an imp. It was obvious Moxxie was a part of the very few imp family's that found wealth. She picked Moxxie up again causing him to groan in pain but she tried her hardest to gently take him to the door. She was nervous but she had to get him completely home safely.

She rang the doorbell and waited. After only a second the door opened to reveal a woman. This woman was young and wore a fancy dress and jewelry. She was also very pretty even to Millie. Millie just stared at her until the woman gasped in horror when she saw Moxxie.

"My dear Moxxie!" she said while reaching for him. She lifted Moxxie off of Millie and took him inside without even saying a word to Millie. The moment she was inside she tried to close the door but Millie finally snapped out of her gaze and stopped her.

"He is seriously hurt! Please help him get better!" she pleaded. The woman did not answer her and closed the door. Even with the women being so rude Millie did not care. All she was able to do was worry about Moxxie.

Then suddenly Sallie May said, "so…we goin' home or what?"

Millie was annoyed by this question but answered, "not now. I have to make sure he will be alright."

"Whatever. I will just head home then." Sallie May said while starting the truck again. Millie was really annoyed by this but said nothing and let her sister leave. After Millie had calmed down a bit from what had happened she also went home.
