Chapter 111: Obelisk's Anger - Soul Energy MAX

"Nicely done, my dominant half." Yami Marik chuckled, as he fought to take over his host's body.

"Get back, you bastard." Marik snarled, fighting for control.

"I don't think I will." Yami Marik mocked and kicked Marik into his subconscious. "Look carefully, 'Monster Reborn has returned to my hand." he bragged. "And I'm pretty sure you know what this means by now. I can Special Summon Ra on my next turn." Marik placed the 'Monster Reborn' in his hand. "It's still my turn. I place a reverse Card and then I Summon 'Swallowtail Spike Lizard' in Defense Mode. Turn end."

"My turn." Yami Yuugi frowned. "I set two reverse Cards and Summon 'Gazelle the King of Mythical Beasts' in Defense Mode. Turn end."

"Whoa there, don't forget that this guy gets an attack on the end of your turn." Yami Marik had 'Bowganian' reduce Yami Yuugi's Life Points by 300. "And on my Standby Phase, 'Swallowtail Spike Lizard's effect activates and increases my Life Points by 1000. Get ready, you'll burn to death in one sweep of the Sun God's wings." he took his turn. "Magic Card, activate. 'Monster Reborn'." he wasted no time in activating Ra's 'Egyptian God Phoenix' form. "I give up 1000 of my Life Points in order to activate Ra's third ability. Burn Obelisk to ashes."

"Reverse Card, open." Yami Yuugi countered.

"Nothing you do will matter.' Yami Marik laughed when ' Egyptian God Phoenix' attack hit. "Obelisk is... what?" he growled when Obelisk remained unharmed. "'Slifer the Sky Dragon'?" he saw Slifer had taken the attack for Obelisk. "Slifer is shielding Obelisk from 'Egyptian God Phoenix'?"

"The moment you attacked, I used my reverse Card." Yami Yuugi explained. "Magic Card: 'Monster Reborn'. So on this turn, Obelisk is unharmed."

"The phoenix shall return to the graveyard once more." Yami Marik growled. "Do you think that means you've won, Yuugi? My Battle Phase is over. But that doesn't mean my turn is over. This turn will be the last turn. Magic Card, activate. 'Surprise Attack from Beyond'. With this, I get an entire second Battle Phase. And I can revive the Monster Summoned in this turn. Come forth, 'Winged Dragon of Ra'. Now then, Ra is still not in Battle Form. What form shall I attack you with? Of course, I'll use this." he licked his lips and activated Ra's Second form. "Behold, watch as I become one with God." he declared, fusing with Ra. "Yuugi, if I sacrifice all the Monsters on the field, Ra's Attack Points will instantly rise to 6899; far beyond your Obelisk's mere 4000 Attack Power. I can blast your Life Points to zero in one shot. Brace yourself."

"We'll see about that." Yami Yuugi snorted. "I've been waiting for this. For the moment your evil heart manifests in the form of a beast. Reverse Card, open. 'Soul Taker'. Magical effects only work for one turn against Gods."

"Are you trying to sacrifice me alongside Ra?" Yami Marik demanded. "Did you really think you could destroy me by sacrificing Ra?"

"Who said anything about sacrificing Ra?" Yami Yuugi retorted. "The sacrifice is there."

"You're sacrificing 'Egyptian God Slime'?" Yami Marik realized.

"Your 'Egyptian God Slime' is merely a fusion of 'Revival Jam' and 'Metal Reflect Slime'." Yami Yuugi explained. "Meaning, I'm able to count it as two sacrifices for the price of one."

"You bastard." Yami Marik growled. "What do you hope to accomplish by sacrificing my Slime?"

"I'll tell you." Yami Yuugi replied. "It's to activate Obelisk's greatest ability: Soul Energy MAX."

"Impossible." Yami Marik hissed. "It's Attack Power is infinite? Hold it. This moment, I take the Monsters on my field, 'Bowganian' and 'Swallowtail Spike Lizard' and offer them to Ra. Ra now has 4899 Attack Points."

"What?" Yami Yuugi was shocked to see Ra was still on the field. "Why is he still standing?"

"Because I activated this Magic Card." Yami Marik taunted.

"''Class System'?" Yami Yuugi recognized the played Card.

"When our Monsters engage in battle, if the Level of my opponent's Monster is equal or less then my own, that Monster's Attack Power and effects are negated." Yami Marik explained. "There you have it. Obelisk's effect has been rendered useless. Too bad for you. And now, 'Surprise Attack from Beyond'. This is the final Battle Phase, Yuugi. Ra attacks you. I win."

"You sure about that?" Yami Yuugi smirked. "Reverse Magic, activate. 'Magical Dimension'. This Magic activates when my opponent attacks while I control a Spellcaster on the field. 'Magical Dimension' sacrifices two of the Monsters on my field."

"What?" Yami Marik was taken aback when Yami Yuugi sacrificed 'Obelisk the Tormentor' and 'Gazelle the King of Mythical Beasts'. "You're sacrificing God?"

"By sacrificing Obelisk and Gazelle, Ra's attack has been evaded." Yami Yuugi declared.

"But now that your God is dead, do you really think you have any hope of defeating me?" Yami Marik mocked. "Yuugi?"

"I have my friends." Yami Yuugi shouted. "I have the servants, my comrades who have been fighting alongside me in my deck. And now for 'Magical Dimension's other effect: I am able to Special Summon one Spellcaster-type Monster from my hand. Come forth, 'Dark Magician'. This turn, we will counter attack Ra. Magic Card, open. 'Ragnarok'. This Card can only be used if I have at least two Magicians Monsters on the field. I remove all the Monsters in my deck, graveyard, and on the field from play. By doing so, I can destroy every Monster my opponent controls. Marik, you are now fused with the God Monster."

"However, Yuugi, if you destroy Ra, that will leave me with only one Life Point." Yami Marik smirked. "If you're prepared to destroy my body and kill my dominant half, go ahead and try it."
