Chapter 114: The Throb of a New Darkness
Some time later...
Other me, where are we going? Yuugi asked in his Soul Room as Yami Yuugi crossed a street.
Aibou, did you bring the God Cards today? Yami Yuugi asked.
Yeah. Yuugi nodded. You can't be...
Yeah. Yami Yuugi confirmed. Let's go. Let's head to the arts museum.
"Yuugi!" Jonouchi shouted, as he, Honda and Anzu met up with the two cousins at the entrance of the museum.
"You two were acting odd this morning and then you just rushed off by yourself, so we hurried over here." Honda explained.
"That's harsh, Yuugi." Jonouchi chided. "Going off by yourself like that."
Meanwhile...
Dartz was standing in front of the state of the The Great Leviathan and chanting a spell.
In front of the Tablet of Lost Memories...
"So this is the palette everyone's keep talking about." Honda noted. "That really does look like Yuugi."
The time has finally come. Yami Yuugi readied himself. Once I show these three God Cards to the palette, my lost memories will be opened, along with a new path. And then, what will happen: the answer is here. Showing the three God Cards to the tablet, the Cards shone brightly, the Eye of Anubis on the palette's Millennium Puzzle shone in response.
In the Leviathan Temple...
The Orichalcos Stone around Dartz's neck shone a bright green light as the ruler of Atlantis finished his spell.
In front of the Tablet of Lost Memories...
"Yuugi." Jonouchi gaped when Yami Yuugi winced, as black lightning crackled from the three god Cards and the stone tablet froze over.
"I feel a different and powerful energy interfering." Yami Yuugi looked at the three God Cards.
A frightened scream rang from outside and the five teenagers ran out.
Outside the museum...
"What's all this?" Jonouchi gawked as the streets were swarmed by Duel Monsters.
"Did someone's Duel Disk break or something?" Honda wondered.
"They don't look like they're being controlled." Anzu pointed out. "Jonouchi, all the data on the different Monsters is stored in Kaiba Corporation's main computer, right?"
"Then, let's head over to Kaiba Corporation and see if they know anything." Jonouchi suggested. "Isn't that Ryuzaki and Haga?" he spotted the two dazed duelists on the walkway.
"What are you doing at a time like this, you guys?" Honda asked.
"The omen has begun..." Haga begun.
"Soon, this world's gonna be destroyed..." Ryuzaki added.
"Just forget about these guys." Jonouchi urged the others off. "Let's go."
Late that night...
"Could this be related to what happened at the palette today?" Anzu wondered, the group was watching the press conference Kaiba held over international news where Kaiba confirmed that the occurrences were not due to a Duel Disk malfunction.
"Yeah, I'm been thinking it's a possibility as well." Yami Yuugi agreed. "At that time, a strong power disrupted the palette and my memory returning to me. Right after, these Monsters starting coming. And what puzzles me most is what Haga and Ryuzaki said."
A shuffle from the storefront of Kame Game Shop alerted the teens
"Grandpa!" Yuugi hurried over, seeing Sugoroku collapsed on the store floor.
"Yuugi, I'm sorry." Sugoroku winced as Yuugi and Ami lifted him up. "The God Cards..."
"They were stolen?" Jonouchi realized. "Damnit!" he ran out to chase the thief. "You won't get away. Obelisk?" he gaped when 'Obelisk the Tormentor' appeared. "It's not just Obelisk." he added, the others joining him.
"Ra and Slifer, too." Yuugi gasped as the two Gods were also Summoned. "Who's there?" he demanded, when a trio of lights were flashed in their faces.
"When the forbidden door is opened," Amelda started on his motorcycle.
"The light of Orichalcos shall punish this sinful world." Rafael added.
"We are the Musketeers of Doma." Valon declared.
"You guys were the ones who stole the God Cards?" Yuugi demanded.
"That's correct." Rafael confirmed. "Indeed, we have taken these Cards, Great Nameless Pharaoh. We issue a challenge to you." he flashed his Chaos Duel Disk on his arm. "If you want the Cards back, come to the unfinished building. We'll be waiting." he then rode off with his two partners.
At the building still under construction...
"Where are you?" Yami Yuugi barked, the group arriving to their destination. "Come out."
"Welcome." Gurimo declared. "We have been awaiting for thy arrival, Muto Yuugi-dono. Or rather, should I address thee as 'Nameless Pharaoh'?" "My name is Gurimo." he jumped off the crane he was standing on. "Among the Musketeers of Doma, as well as Rafael-sama's servant. Now, will thee accept my duel challenge?" he removed his hood.
"Fine." Yami Yuugi leapt onto the wooden floor. "But before that, I have one thing to say. The God Cards are Cards that won't allow anyone but the chosen ones to wield them. If you try to use them, God's anger will consume you."
"Will I be able to use them or not, you will have to confirm that with your own eyes." Gurimo fired back.
"Interesting." Yami Yuugi smirked. "I'll accept this duel."
"Become our offering, Muto Yuugi-dono." Gurimo declared.
"I'll go first." Yami Yuugi took the first turn. "I Summon 'Beta The Magnet Warrior' in Defense Mode. Also, I set one reverse Card. I can't attack on the first turn. Turn over."
"It's now my turn." Gurimo took his turn. "I Summon 'Marauding Captain' and I activate 'Marauding Captain's special effect. He lets me Special Summon another Monster of Level or below. I Summon 'Shadow Tamer'. Yuugi-dono, the time has now come for me to show our true power. Behold, a Magic Card born from the very darkness itself." he pulled out the 'The Seal of Orichalcos' Magic Card. "This age old power has become our power. I shall seal my enemy within a sacred barrier of divine justice. I activate 'The Seal of Orichalcos'. 'The 'Seal of Orichalcos', so long as this boundary exists on the field, all distractions are forcefully removed so we can focus solely on the duel. Until the duel's outcome has been determined, not a single being shall be granted passage within this barrier. And vice versa, neither I nor thee shall be permitted to leave. The only one capable of exiting this bound is none other than the winner of the duel. And the loser's soul will forever be sealed within the sacred boundary for all eternity."
"What is that?" Yami Yuugi frowned. "This guy is able to control the Dark Game?"
"That's not it." Ami frowned. "This isn't a Dark Game. Yuugi, be careful." she warned. "If this field is what I think it is, then the mastermind behind all this is... him."
"Him?" Yami Yuugi echoed.
"I've just begun showing you the true power of the 'Seal of Orichalcos'." Gurimo bragged. "It turns my Monsters into Dark Monsters and raises their Attack Power by 500 points. Go, 'Marauding Captain', attack 'Beta The Magnet Warrior'."
"Trap Card, activate." Yami Yuugi countered. "'Soul Rope'. This Card's effect starts when one of my Monsters are destroyed. At the cost of 1000 of my Life Points, I can Special Summon a Four-Star Monster from my deck. 'Gamma The Magnet Warrior' in Defense Mode."
"I set one Card." Gurimo continued his turn. "My turn is over."
With Rafael and the others...
"That's our subordinate, alright." Valon noted. "Rafael, does this Yuugi really stand a chance?"
"If he's defeated by him here, that means the Nameless Pharaoh isn't worthy of becoming our enemy." Rafael scoffed. "Nothing more, nothing less."
"Then that lave Katsuya Jonouchi." Valon smirked.
"And Kaiba Seto." Amelda snarled.
"We must obtain all three of their souls." Rafael declared. "Our plan must not fail."
Back in the duel...
"My turn." Yami Yuugi took his turn. "I Summon 'Alpha The Magnet Warrior' in Attack Mode."
"At this moment, my Trap Card activates." Gurimo countered. "'Hidden Soldiers'. This Card activates when the opponent successfully Summons a Monster. It lets me Summon a Dark-Attribute Monster from my hand. Come forth, 'Makyura the Destructor'."
"I'm going to activate a Magic Card from my hand." Yami Yuugi stated. "'The Shallow Grave', activate. It lets both players Summon a Monster from their graveyards in Defense Mode. The Monster I'm reviving is 'Beta The Magnet Warrior'. Alpha, Beta and Gamma, now all three of the Magnet Warriors have gathered. Join together, 'Valkyrion the Magna Warrior'. Turn end." he declared, after having 'Valkyrion the Magna Warrior' take out 'Marauding Captain'.
"That is the King of Duelists." Gurimo praised. "You are very good. But I'm about to Summon a much more powerful Monster. Indeed, 'Valkyrion the Magna Warrior's Attack Points are higher than almost all Monsters. But mine is different from the others. The Card I'm about to play is the God Card, 'Obelisk the Tormentor'. I activate the Magic Card 'Monster Reborn' to revive 'Marauding Captain'. I sacrifice all three of my Monsters in play. Now, appear before us in your greatest form, 'Obelisk the Tormentor'."
"Impossible." Yami Yuugi gaped in disbelief.
