Chapter 118: An Unexpected Enemy

In America...

"The driver is taking his time." Anzu noted, the group having made a pit stop by a petrol station.

"What the heck is he doing?" Honda wondered.

"Guess we should go check on him." Jonouchi suggested. "There's no one here." he remarked, the group leaving the automobile to check out on the driver.

"More than that, it feels like no one's used this place for years." Anzu stated.

"He's not using the toilet either." Honda informed.

Jonouchi hushed the others, his ears picking up a sound.

"I hear something." Ami's ears also picked up the sound of motor. "They're coming our way."

"Who the hell are you people?" Jonouchi demanded, he and Honda pushing the others back when a biker gang stopped in front of them.

"We don't have any money." Honda added. "Get lost."

Aibou, switch with me. Yami Yuugi voiced and he swapped places with Yuugi. "Are these guys henchmen of Doma?"

"Guys, run towards the car." Jonouchi instructed.

"We're in serious trouble here." Honda hissed, the group finding themselves surrounded.

"That's low, you jerks." Jonouchi snarled, the gang picking up pipes.

One of the bikers was about to attack Jonouchi when a Card was tossed art his wrist, forcing him to drop the pipe.

Mai rode in on her motorbike, using two more Card to disarm another two bikers, before mowing through the gang.

"Let's take this chance and get out of here." Honda pressed.

"Who exactly is that person?" Anzu wondered, Honda taking the wheel and driving off.

"It's Mai." Jonouchi replied, recognizing the 'Harpie Lady' Card embedded in one of the biker's palm. "I'm sure of it."

At Industrial Illusions...

"Let's go." Yami Yuugi told the group, upon arriving at the Industrial Illusions' main building.

"There's no one here." Honda remarked, the group having entered the main lobby.

"Is today a holiday or something?" Jonouchi wondered.

"Can't be." Ami refuted. "I checked the calendar."

"Besides, why would the doors be left wide open?" Anzu agreed.

"This is too fishy." Ami frowned.

"No good." Anzu picked up the reception phone. "The phone lines are dead."

Not a moment too soon, the metal grill shutters shut the group in.

"Darn." Jonouchi tugged at the metal gates. "It won't open."

Just then, Mai entered the scene on her motorbike.

"See?" Jonouchi grinned, Mai removing her helmet. "Just like I said."

"Guys," Ami spoke. "Look carefully on what's on her arm."

"A Chaos Duel Disk." Yami Yuugi gaped. "Then..."

"That's true." Mai showed the group Pegasus' 'The Seal of Orichalcos' Card. "I've disposed of Pegasus."

"Mai, what's going on here?"

"Simply put, Kujaku Mai said she wanted to take care of you groupies with her own hands." Valon answered from the observation deck on the second floor. "Mai, you were only supposed to go after Pegasus. Nameless Pharaoh and Jonouchi are our opponents."

"I'll be taking these two on." Mai readied for a duel. "So you two better keep your hands off them."

"Why would you?" Jonouchi demanded. "What the hell is going on here? You have a lot of explaining to do."

"If you guys want to leave this building, you'll have to defeat me in a duel first." Mai issued her challenge. "Jonouchi, I'll start with you. My turn. I'm not the Kujaku Mai you once knew, Jonouchi. I have been reborn." she declared, 'The Seal of Orichalcos' mark blazed on her forehead. "By obtaining new strength, the power of the Orichalcos. O Magic Card, dyed in the darkest black, awaken thy soul of darkness. Field Magic, 'The Seal of Orichalcos'. Come out, 'Harpie Lady'." she Summoned her trademark Monster. "Gain the power of Orichalcos. Inside the boundaries of the Orichalcos, all of my Monsters become Dark Monsters and their Attack Power go up by 500 points. Turn end. Now, Jonouchi, it's your turn."
