Chapter 7: Adult Moxxie (age 29, back to normal)
Moxxie woke up in his warm bed, alongside his wife. He felt his ankle throbbing in pain, he moaned, trying his best not to wake Millie. "Go back to sleep". He thought to himself, but the throbbing in his ankle would not let him do it. He decided he needed his medicine. He sat up and slid off the bed, placing himself on his bottom, he looked at his cast and groaned in frustration as he saw it was now too small for him and he'd need a new one. He felt his face, smooth, he must be back to his original age, thank Satan for that. He skimmed the room for his crutches, nothing there, they must be still in the living room. He shuffled on his bottom to his bedroom door, the handle was too high for him whilst he was on the floor. He sighed, heavily disappointed in himself, he would have to wake Millie. Back into his twenties, but unable to walk; he shuffled over to his wife's side of the bed and gently held her hand. "Millie." His said, his voice now broken and adult once again.
Millie woke up and smiled down at Moxxie holding her hand, now back to his original age. "Yes Moxxie?"
"I'm sorry to wake you, but my ankle is killing me and I need my medicine. I tried to get it myself, I promise, but I can't get to the door handle from down here. My upmost apologies, really."
Millie smiled, "Moxxie it's fine, come on now." Millie came down to Moxxie's level and lifted him back on the bed, she immediately noticed how his cast was now too small. "Hold still." She told him as she slipped it off to Moxxie's whimpers of pain. Moxxie and Millie both looked down at the purple, swollen ankle. Millie rubbed his knee, "oh my poor baby Moxxie", she cooed at him.
"Honey, I'm sorry but, can we drop that pet name for a while."
"Of course, pumpkin, that was a bit thoughtless of me. However, what are we going to do about your leg?"
"We could go to Doctor Slither and say I fell down the stairs as we were leaving our apartment this morning."
"That's a good idea, then we would have a doctor's note for Blitzo, you're going to have to stay off work for a while. But for now, let me get you your medicine." Millie left the room and returned briefly with Moxxie's medicine and an ice pack. She placed the ice-pack on Moxxie's ankle and gave him two spoon fulls of medicine before she sat by his side and allowed him to lie his head into her breasts.
"Millie, I love you so much."
"I love you too Moxxie."
"You know, you would make a wonderful mother."
"Thanks Moxxie."
"Really, I mean you gave me a wonderful second childhood. My parents were, well the way they were and there wasn't any happiness in my life until I met you. You gave me a chance of a happy childhood and I will be grateful for all eternity. I love you so much. When my ankle is better, I will personally take you back to that zoo and carry you all the way around all day, as much as your heart is content."
"I look forward to that dear. But there's something I'd like to ask, Moxxie, you were such a sweet and quiet baby and toddler and a loving and lively child and teenager, I don't understand why your parents were the way they were with you."
"It's a question I've been asking myself for twenty-nine years, I think they just wanted to look good and used to wave me around like a prized pig. They'd be more than happy with their friends ogling over me saying how cute and precious I was, but once they were alone and putting up with the stuff that comes with infants such as crying, they didn't want to know and I feel they resented me for it. From being two and up I just tried to get them to love me, but they never did. But you gave me a chance to experience a childhood with love and care and I appreciate it more than you'll ever know." Moxxie then kissed his wife on the cheek and nuzzled into her neck.
"It was nothing honey, it was the least I could do. Anyway, how is your ankle."
"The pain appears to be going down."
"I'll help you get dressed and take you to the doctor."
"Thanks sweetheart."
Moxxie and Millie returned home after their second trip to a hospital in twenty-four hours. Millie was carrying Moxxie in her arms as she placed him on the couch in the same way she did the previous day. Injured foot elevated on a cushion, ice pack just above the cast, and Moxxie's back propped up against pillows. She tucked Moxxie under the thin blanket and whispered to him, "you pick a movie whilst I get your crutches and medicine out of the car."
"Yes Princess."
Moxxie was just about to press play on the live adaptation of 101 Dalmatians until Millie placed her phone in front of his face. "Moxxie, would you happen to know anything about this?" She asked, trying and failing to contain her laughter.
Moxxie took the phone from Millie's hand and saw it was on Blitzo's Voxtagram page. It showed a picture of Blitzo's house covered in dried eggs and read in large block capitals of fury, "CAN'T BELIEVE THIS! I GO AWAY FOR A COUPLE OF WEEKS AND COME HOME TO THIS! THE HOUSE IS A MESS AND STINKS TO HIGH HELL! WHEN I CATCH THE HOODLUMS THAT DID THIS I SWEAR!"
Moxxie's mouth widened into a mischievous grin, baring all of his shiny adult teeth, "maybe" he smirked. Himself and Millie then burst out into a fit of giggles before settling down with the movie. Just as Millie was about to sit down Moxxie rang his bell. She sighed, "yes Moxxie?"
"Millie can you please print screen that picture on your phone and send it to me, I want to keep it forever."
"Of course, sweetie, whatever my poor prince needs to make him feel better."
"Kiss please?"
"Of course, sweetheart." Millie leant over Moxxie and gave him a long kiss on the lips, accompanied by the swirling of both of their snake-like tongues. Suddenly the door to the apartment burst open with a boom. Blitzo had came storming in, his daughter Loona behind him looking bored staring at her phone. "Sir?" Moxxie questioned.
"Sorry to burst in like this Mox, but we'll be staying for a few days."
"What? Who said you could…"
"Quiet Moxxie, some little punks egged our house whilst we were away and now the place reeks! I've hired a cyclops sinner to sort it out, but she says it'll take a couple of days for the smell to clear so we're staying over for a few nights to be safe. Hope you don't mind."
"Actually I…"
"Of course, you don't." Blitzo then noticed Moxxie laying on the couch, in a blanket with a table with a tablet and bell by his side, well within his reach. "What's the matter Moxxie, you sick or something?" Blitzo inquired, raising an eye brow, feeling generally concerned for his employee.
"Kind of…"
"Me and Moxxie were heading out for breakfast this morning, he took a fall down the stair case and hurt his ankle. It's broken and sprained, the doctor says he needs to stay off it for ten to twelve weeks." Millie explained.
"Damnit Moxxie!" Blitzo stomped his foot.
"Accidents happen sir! Didn't a certain someone break his leg a while back."
"I certainly did not!"
"Do you want me to bring up Voxtagram sir?"
Blitzo paused, defeated "actually don't."
"Why don't I find you a nice hotel to stay in for a while sir?" Asked Millie sweetly, knowing that it was best at this time for her boss and his daughter to be out of the house.
"Thankyou Millie. Loony you text Mr. Oakley and tell him we're going to put his kill on hold for 12 weeks due to the employee we need for the job being injured. Refund him and give him a gift certificate and tell him we'll update him in 12 weeks."
"Sure Blitzo." Loona said, leaving the room, leaving both Blitzo and Moxxie alone. "Thankyou sir." Moxxie thanked, confused. "But why did you postpone that kill, surely yourself, Loona and Millie could pull it off fine."
"You see Moxxie for that one we need you. Mr. Oakley's neighbour, who he wants revenge on, is a day care worker. For this one I have a plan, I found this shop on the way over here which sells potions to help one relax. I felt I needed one after seeing the mess my place was in once I got home. But my eyes drew to this…" Blitzo pulled out a familiar looking white bottle with an orange boarder, at that point Moxxie became very pale. "I figure to get the bitch we'll need a distraction. So, you take this and go back to babyhood, Millie plays your mommy and takes you to day-care whilst I…" Moxxie was already passed out on the couch, his body flapped and slid backwards, creating a small thump. Blitzo looked down at him. "Millie get in here!" He called.
Millie peaked out from behind the door. "What's the matter?"
"It's your husband, he appears to have fainted."
