"You want me to do what?" Shinsou Hitoshi, a new resident of class 1-A after a certain grape haired pervert was caught snooping about the girl's rooms when they weren't around, questioned as he raised a brow curiously to the strange soul who had approached him with such an odd request.
The culprit was none other than Kyouka Jirou, the class's resident musical prodigy. She had approached the boy with a request that would ail her lovesickness. No, she wasn't confessing to him, but she desperately needed his help when it came to the green haired Izuku Midoriya.
"...I need you to brainwash Midoriya for me." She repeated, blushing as she twirled her jacks around her finger, a nervous tick she hadn't realized that she had picked up.
"And enlighten me as to why you want me to brainwash him?" Shinsou inquired, his tired eyes squinting at her suspiciously as her demeanor seemed a bit… Out of character. She didn't usually get this flustered, nor had she ever shown much interest in the greenette. At the very least she did a good job of hiding said interest. Sure they hangout regularly, but there couldn't have been anything more, right?
"Just… Listen, I really like him okay? A-And, I just want to ask him how he feels about me…" Kyouka muttered, turning her head away from the brainwasher as he stared at her with a blank look. Seriously? Did she really just want Izuku brainwashed for that? All she'd need to do is talk to him because he was more than certain that the greenette was definitely into her. "...And I might be able to get a few other things out of him, but that's besides the point. I'm just tired of wondering and not knowing the real answer."
...Though it would be fun to do it anyway and see what happens.
"And what do I get out of this? Y'know, other than the free entertainment and chaos that'll ensue." The boy questioned, crossing his arms as he waited for the girl's offer patiently. He didn't do things like this for free, she'd need something to sway his decision, but luckily Kyouka had an ace up her sleeve.
"...I can get you a date with Mina?" She offered, nearly laughing at the absolute confusion that became present on his face. His face was red, and his brow furrowed; he was embarrassed and confused.
"How the hell did you find out? I swear to god if that asshole Kaminari-"
"Calm down, I figured it out on my own. But I can hook you two up, she's been eyeing this one place for a while and I think it'd be a perfect opportunity for you to invite her out." She informed, smirking as the purple haired boy thought her offer over, his bashfulness giving her enough confidence to safely say she had this in the bag.
"Alright, I'm in. You can text me the details later, we just need to find Midoriya." Shinsou complied, turning towards the elevator as it dinged to indicate that someone was going to be making their way out, and luckily enough it was just who they were looking for. "And right on cue, that makes my day so much easier."
Izuku flinched in surprise at Kyouka and Shinsou swiftly making their way over to the greenette rather suspiciously nonchalantly. "W-Woah! D-Do you guys need something?"
Shinsou nodded, activating his quirk as he rubbed the back of his neck guilily. "Hey, Midoriya, can I ask you something?"
"Sure, Shinsou, what is i-" Izuku started, halting completely as the brainwashing began to take effect and the greenette stood still waiting for his command.
"Sweet, it worked." Shinsou exclaimed feigning excitement as he rubbed his tired eyes and turned to Kyouka with an expression that said, "You'd better hold up your end of the bargain,". "So from here on out you will listen to everything that Kyouka Jirou tells you to do. You will not think, and by the time my quirk naturally runs out you will not remember a single thing of this unless she commands you otherwise. Nod if you understand."
There was a slight pause before the greenette slowly nodded, his eyes still hazy and empty as he sat without a thought in his mind. "So how long will he be like this?"
"Well, the time limit last time I checked was 45 hours naturally. So nearly two days, unless someone or something knocks him out of it. Be careful." He answered, placing his hands into his pockets as he went to walk away and leave Kyouka with her brainwashed cabbage patch. "If he gets knocked out of it he'll remember everything by the way, so I mean it. Be careful."
"You got it, I'll send you the address to the place for your date in a minute." Kyouka chimed in one last time before turning back towards the brainwashed greenette with an anxious curiosity rising within her. What should she have him do first? "I guess I should see if it really worked… Uhm, raise your right hand?"
The greenette listened to the command, slowly raising his right hand up into an open palm. Kyouka's eyes sparkled in amazement. "It worked! Alright, put your hand down and follow me, careful not to bump into anyone."
Making her way into the elevator that the greenette had just come out of, Kyouka began to think of all the things she could really use this for. She really only had the one goal in mind, but now that he was here under her control she wondered what kinds of things she could make him do. Perhaps she could get more out of him than just a few answers, like if he had a thing with Uraraka or if that was just a rumor.
"Maybe I should see if he can actually speak… Uh, how tall are you? Give a verbal response." She instructed, eyeing him as they waited for the elevator to reach its designated floor.
"Five Foot Nine Inches." He answered simply, his voice was monotone and he didn't move or even look in any other direction. He had grown since their first year, definitely looked like it too.
"Nice, you can talk. Who's your favorite classmate?"
"...Kyouka Jirou."
Kyouka blushed, "Wait what? Why am I your favorite?"
"...Nice. Doesn't give me a hard time for anything. Likes when I help her, and doesn't mind my muttering." He mumbled, his tone continuing to be bland and monotone as he stared aimlessly at the wall of the elevator.
Suddenly the elevator doors opened, snapping Kyouka out of her embarrassment as she walked out while having Izuku trail behind her until they made their way to her room. "Geez, I never would have thought you liked when we hangout…"
There was no reply, the greenette simply stood quietly in the center of the room as Kyouka shut and locked the door behind her, having a seat on the edge of her bed as she began to brainstorm different questions she could ask him now that they had some privacy.
"Okay, um… What do you think about me? Do you even have an opinion of me?" She asked, her tone growing a bit softer at the expense of her embarrassment. Why was it that even when he was brainwashed she still didn't exactly feel calm about hearing the answers to these kinds of questions?
There was a pause, silence washed over the room because of what Kyouka assumed to be Izuku processing the command. The girl shyed away from staring at the brainwashed boy, her heart beginning to race due to this pause seemingly lasting forever. She was antsy.
"Kyouka is… Kind. I think she is a dedicated person, and she inspires me to be creative with the way that I help others." Izuku revealed, his statement bringing a shaky smile to the embarrassed girl's face. She felt like she could squeal with glee; he thinks she's nice!
"Oh man, I can't believe it! Okay, Okay, um… Do you like hanging out with me? What about my music, do you like that too?" She pressed on, growing a bit too excited to ask him all the questions that had been plaguing her mind.
"...Yes." He answered.
"That means you were staring at me while I was playing! I knew it!" She cheered, fist pumping excitedly as her suspicions were proven true. During one of the class's famous outings, Kyouka noticed that Izuku had been trying his hardest to stick around her, but she didn't want to get the wrong idea and just assumed he was being friendly, but this information proved overwise.
Before she could celebrate any further, a notification went off on her phone, only being noticed due to it vibrating in her pocket. "Oh shit, that's right! I was supposed to be doing my homework, but it's math… Wait, I have one of the smartest kids in our class right in front of me at my beck and call!"
Kyouka smirked, "Midoriya, do my homework."
Since that first request, Kyouka had spent the rest of the evening ordering Izuku around to do tasks for her, albeit a bit shamelessly. She had him help with her homework, cook her dinner, help her take out that trash in her room (Which honestly he would've done even if he wasn't brainwashed to do so). You could say she went crazy with power.
"Deku-Kun? Why have you been following Jirou around all afternoon..?" A sudden voice questioned as Izuku and Kyouka had made their way back inside. Kyouka froze as she whipped her head around to face the brunette who had approached the two of them out of a mild jealousy rising within herself. She didn't like the attention Izuku was giving Kyouka.
"A-Ah, Uraraka, what are you-"
"I asked Deku a question." She pressed on, interrupting the purplette from speaking before returning her attention back to the greenette. "Well? Are you gonna answer?"
Kyouka looked away nervously as she cleared her throat, "Y-Yeah, go on and answer her, tell her why."
"...I've been helping." He muttered monotonously, his eyes still empty and distant as he stood oddly still and didn't even make any move to look at the brunette. "She asked me to help."
"O-Oh, okay… W-Well, I guess just be careful? I-It's just weird seeing you two hangout more than normal..." She mumbled as she let the two pass without any further questions. Kyouka began to think that they were in the clear, at least for now.
"Okay, that was close… Get me some water and meet me back in my room, alright? I guess now's a better time to ask the big question before figuring out what to do with you during the night." She mumbled, not even receiving a reply as the greenette made his way over to the kitchen to do what she had asked of him.
Kyouka felt guilt begin to rise within her however, she knew that she was only buying time at this point, and she knew that brainwashing him in general wasn't right. But shouldn't she get at least a little bit of fun out of this, or was she pushing it?
As Izuku made his way into the kitchen, the sudden appearance of a certain angry blond had snapped him out of whatever trance he was in, bringing the greenette's consciousness back from the depths of his own mind.
Izuku inhaled sharply as Bakugou stared at him in confusion, "The hell's wrong with you? You can't watch where you're going, and now you're having a damn panic attack?"
Izuku's eyes frantically scanned the room as he began to calm down his breathing, turning back to Bakugou out of confusion, "W-What? What happened, what are you talking about?"
"...Okay, it's official. You've lost your damn mind, Shit-For-Brains." Bakugou berated, rolling his eyes as he went about his business, leaving the now freed greenette to slowly begin to remember the past few hours of the day. Kyouka had him running around to do tasks for her, but the feeling of coming to was familiar… Shinsou must have been in on this, but why did Kyouka need him brainwashed? Was it just so that she could get him to do things for her!? What the hell was wrong with those two!?
'Wait, wait… I'm sure there's a logical reason for this. This is out of character for her, there had to have been some kind of reason that she did this. Let's just get her that water and we can figure it out, if there even is a good enough reason.' The greenette thought, straightening himself out as he quickly filled up a glass of water and headed for the elevator.
He was going to get some answers.
"God that was way too close… Why am I even doing this? Imagine if he finds out about this later, why did I think that this was such a good idea!?" Kyouka mumbled to herself, blushing furiously as she curled up in a ball of embarrassment on her bed. "God, what the fuk was I thinking!? I just… I-I just wanted to know the answer, a-and now I'm in over my head!"
Suddenly the door to her dorm room opened, and Kyouka jumped, feeling her heartbeat spike as she faced what she assumed was the still brainwashed green haired nerd.
"Oh god, okay, I-I'm gonna get you out of the hypnosis, all it takes is some kind of nudge, right? God, I'm gonna have to apologize for years for this…" She mumbled, rising from her bed and making her way over to the greenette who had a fresh cup of water in his hand for her. "I really just needed to find out, and just asking up front was never going to be the right way to do it, so… Gah! Why are feelings so weird…"
Clearing his throat, the greenette suddenly grabbed Kyouka's attention, causing her to realize that she had just said this while he was out of the mind control- WAIT HE WAS OUT OF THE MIND CONTROL!?
"Mind telling me why I've been brainwashed for the entire afternoon? What's the meaning of all of this?" Izuku questioned angrily, handing the purplette her cup of water rather roughly as he stared at her in disappointment for her actions. "Seriously, I deserve some answers."
"W-Wait, how..?" She trailed off.
"How did I get out of the mind control? Bakugou bumped into me. Now start talking, Jirou, I hope you have some kind of reasonable answer for this." He answered, glaring at her as she looked down shamefully. He was probably going to hate her now, but she might as well just tell him the truth and take what's coming to her.
"I-I just… Originally I had just wanted to find out how you felt about me, but then I began to get way too absorbed into the requests and ended up going too far with it…" She explained, sighing as she began to tap the ends of her jacks together anxiously. "...I really like you, Midoriya, and I couldn't stand not knowing the answer any longer. It's like we've been dancing around it for way too long, I just couldn't take it."
"So you brainwashed me over that!? Jirou, why didn't you just come and talk to me?" Izuku suddenly jumped at her reasoning, becoming increasingly frustrated as he took a step towards her.
"I-It's not that easy! I trust you with a lot of things, but there will always be fear that goes along with talking about… About my feelings for you, Midoriya. I know I'm probably nothing special, but-" She started, trying to defend herself pausing briefly as Izuku pinched the bridge of his nose in frustration. "I'm sorry, okay!? I know your mad at me, and I know I'm probably not worth it, but-"
"Are you dumb? Jirou- No, Kyouka, that has nothing to do with this! It's the fact you had Shinsou brainwash me! If you had just come to me before any of that you would've learned that-'' Izuku froze suddenly, his face reddening as his expression softened at her saddened and heartbroken expression. "Th-th-that… Um…"
"What?" She questioned, tilting her head curiously. "Listen, you're right, that stuff doesn't matter. You don't need to give me any sort of sympathy, and you're completely entitled to hating me, and I'm sorry. I'm sorry for having Shinsou brainwash you, I should have just come to you from the start, but I was afraid that-"
"I-I didn't finish. You would have learned that I was in love with you. There was no need for any of this, you were already the person that I loved, and I would've been more than willing to tell you the truth… I'm terrible at lying, it's not even worth trying to hide." Izuku explained, cutting the purplette off before she could apologize any further, his expression turning more bashful as he rubbed the nape of his neck nervously. "I-I'm happy to hear that you would have- Well, did go through such lengths to get an answer, but you didn't need to. That kinda violates a lot of human rights, don't you think?"
"U-Uh, yeah, I-I'm so sorry…" She mumbled, wiping the tears that had begun to build up as she sat down on the edge of her bed. "God, I'm such an idiot…"
"A little, but this is karma for how often you called me stupid." Izuku joked, sitting down beside her as he took a deep breath. "I think I can forgive you. You and everyone else are lucky that I don't have it in me to be a menace, plus… I have a soft spot for you in particular."
"You shouldn't forgive me…" She grumbled, hugging her knees to her chest as she sniffled while holding back her tears of shame.
"I said I think I can, meaning you owe me now for what you did to me." He replied, playfully chopping her on the head as he smiled at her with a light blush dusting his cheeks. "How about since we have another day before the "hypnosis" ends, we go out on a date? Let's actually do things right this time."
Kyouka froze suddenly, processing what Izuku had just said before turning to him with a red face, "W-Wait, you mean that? You really…"
"Y-Yeah, I really love you, even though what you did was totally messed up and a violation of my privacy-"
"Okay, okay! I get it, I messed up! I'll make it right, w-we can go on a date, anything you want…" She replied, suddenly being brought closer to the greenette by him wrapping an arm around her. "I-Izuku…"
"I didn't hear you say it back..." He whispered anxiously, averting her gaze with a red face. "You owe me at least that now that you've got your answer, right?
Kyouka smiled softly and nodded, "Yeah, I love you too…"
