INT. AUNT JONI'S HOUSE – NIGHT
AUNT JONI: What do you mean you're leaving?
Tatum is busily folding her clothes into a suitcase.
TATUM: You saw the video. The killer's got Jill Roberts involved in some twisted game and he's threatening Nicky! I gotta go!
AUNT JONI: And do what exactly? Hmm? Get yourself killed?
TATUM: Did Sidney kill me? Aunt Desirae? My father …?
AUNT JONI: So by your logic because I haven't had a car accident in my lifetime, I'll never have one. Where will you go?
TATUM: First, I'm going to Nicky's hotel. I'm dragging her out of there if I have to beat Danny down myself -.
AUNT JONI: Then what? Will you come back here?
TATUM: I don't know …
AUNT JONI: You can't leave! It's too dangerous –
TATUM: Joni, no offense, but my daughter needs me!
Tatum storms out of the bedroom. Joni follows, wine in her hand.
AUNT JONI: You're not in your right state of mind! Tatum – what if this is all a ruse? What if it's Billy trying to get you back?
Tatum stops. She stares at the wall.
TATUM: No. Billy may be a lot of things, but he's not a killer.
AUNT JONI: You also thought he wasn't a cheater, how'd that turn out?
They pass the couch – Uncle Frank is snoring away watching a golf show.
AUNT JONI: For goodness sake, listen to me -.
TATUM: (whirling around) Joni – don't take this the wrong way. You've been very kind to me, letting me stay here, taking me out to clubs, helping me meet other men – but if you try to stop me from helping my daughter -.
AUNT JONI: There's no proof your daughter is in any danger! You can't leave me, Tatum!
TATUM: Why? What is this need to have me here? To stay here?
She stops. She stares at the mantle and sees the picture of Aunt Desirae.
TATUM: It's you, isn't it?
AUNT JONI: Of course not. Don't be absurd.
TATUM: You want me here, so I'm out of the way in New York …
AUNT JONI: I have no idea what you're talking about. I want you here with me because it's safe here! Because … because my life is better when you're around. Tatum, I don't have many friends. Frank doesn't pay attention to me anymore. He won't even look at me. I spend my days alone, going stir crazy and drinking myself to sleep. You add excitement to my life, Tatum. Like when we were in college! Please … you're the only friend I have …
Tatum stares back. She can sense the sincerity in Joni's words. Even if Joni isn't involved, Tatum is not going to let her daughter be put in any more danger.
TATUM: I'll come back. I'll bring Nicky, even. I promise Joni. I'm not going to abandon you. I'm sorry that we lost touch over the years, but I won't let it happen again, I swear!
Joni is in tears. They hug.
AUNT JONI: You'll have a warm bed waiting here for you.
Tatum turns and walks out the door.
EXT. AUNT JONI'S HOUSE – NIGHT
Tatum races down the porch steps, heads for her car – stops. Her tires have been completely SLASHED. She looks around – all four of them.
TATUM: Shit!
Aunt Joni appears on the porch behind her.
AUNT JONI: Is everything okay?
TATUM: Someone slashed my tires!
AUNT JONI: What? Who?
Tatum looks around. The woods surrounding the house are eerily silent.
TATUM: Get back inside. Call the police.
AUNT JONI: But Nicky -.
TATUM: Oh, I'm getting to New York tonight. No stopping momma bear.
AUNT JONI: Alright, then come back inside. I'll call you an Uber.
Tatum turns and Joni ushers her back into the house. Joni turns, looking at the car. A devious smile flits across her face.
INT. BILLY'S CAR – NIGHT
Billy sits in bumper to bumper traffic trying to cross from New Jersey into New York via the Lincoln Tunnel. His finger taps impatiently on his steering wheel as he's cut off by a bus. He has a cellular device hooked to his head. His car phone is dialing "Nicholette."
BILLY: Come on, come on.
It goes to voicemail.
BILLY: Shit!
He's losing his mind in this traffic. His mind races, desperate to reach out to anyone. He thinks for a moment, then dials. We hear a ringtone and a female voice picks up.
KAREN: Hey you!
BILLY: Karen, I can't get into the city. I'm stuck in traffic and –
KAREN: Martha got a video from the killer too. We're leaving the convention.
BILLY: Can you and Martha get Nicholette? Just get her somewhere safe till I can get there?
KAREN: Of course. I mean, if you and I are planning to get serious, she might as well get to know me -.
BILLY: Well yeah, I guess there's an upside to all this.
KAREN: Okay, just give me her hotel address.
CUT TO:
EXT. CAMP WICK WOODS – NIGHT
Jill races through the woods, darting through thickets and trees. She stumbles, falls down a slope and lands in mud. She stops, looking around. Nothing but moonlight flashing through the trees and the sound of crickets. She stands up.
JILL: Okay, Jill. Just remain calm. You've been in sticky situations before …
She sees a dirt path, an old hiking trail. All the other inmates are probably out and about. If she could just sneak back to camp, she could hotwire a car or something. But what about Dr. Sarius? Or Nevie and Stevie? They were probably wearing a Ghostface mask making threatening phone calls or something.
Well, there's nothing for it. Jill takes a deep breath and darts onto the roadway.
SOMEONE JUMPS INTO HER FROM BEHIND!
Jill screams, grabbing a branch, knocking someone down. The person raises their hands, defending themselves.
MIKEY: It's me, it's me!
Mikey the arsonist rolls on the ground. Jill holds her tree branch defensively as he stands up.
MIKEY: I think you bruised my angina!
JILL: Not a step closer!
MIKEY: I'm not gonna do anything! I'm just trying to get out of here! The other psychos though – hey, maybe you and I should team up! We get back to camp, snag a truck, get out of here together!
JILL: I don't trust you as far as I can throw you.
MIKEY: Yeah, well that makes two of us. Besides – you were one of the Reboot Killers. How do I know this isn't some elaborate scheme of yours?
JILL: Alright, you got a point. We don't trust each other. So what now?
MIKEY: So … we work together. The second either one of us does anything weird, the other one has permission to kill. Deal?
JILL: Deal.
MIKEY: Okay, so for starters – GAHHH!
A FIGURE IN BLACK LEAPS ON HIM, SINKING CANINE-LIKE TEETH INTO HIS NECK, RIPPING HIS THROAT OUT!
Jill is absolutely horrified as Devon the Vampire Girl completely rips Mikey's throat out. She stands over his body, her filed-down fangs glistening with saliva and blood.
DEVON: One down.
She licks her lips.
DEVON: I wonder – are you a virgin, Jill?
JILL: (swinging her tree branch) Stay the fuck away from me!
DEVON: They always say virgin blood tastes better.
She charges Jill, ramming into her. The two struggle, go over a ravine together. They land hard. Devon is up, pinning Jill down. Devon goes for her throat – Jill grabs her by the face, keeping her at bay. Devon snaps at her.
Jill grabs a branch, knocking Devon off her. Jill is up, on her feet. Devon recovers – charges, throwing her up against a tree trunk. She grabs Jill's head and SLAMS it into the trunk. Devon's eyes and teeth gleam.
DEVON: You're not like us, Jill Roberts. You're nothing but a wannabe. You've never killed anyone. You just don't have it in you. How you thought you were gonna carry out a massacre on your own, I'll never know. Oh well.
Devon leans in.
Jill's eyes narrow. She looks down at the ring on her finger – the one Trevor gave her before Jenny murdered him. She remembers Kate, her mother. How her mother never paid attention to her. How Tatum got all the fame, all the glory over the years. All the guilt she'd felt over the past few years in her role in the Reboot Murders rears up, but also the repressed rage she felt. The rage that drove her to plan the Reboot Murders in the first place. And she HEADBUTTS Devon!
Devon staggers back, blood trailing from her lips. Jill is coming for her. And she's absolutely pissed.
JILL: You think I don't have it in me? Huh? FUCKING TRY ME!
Jill uppercuts Devon. She grips her by the hair, smashing her head into a tree. Devon is howling, writhing, trying to escape.
JILL: You think I'm not a killer? Bitch, I revived Ghostface!
She SLAMS Devon into a tree. The vampire girl hits the ground. Jill grabs her tree branch, drags it along.
JILL: You want to see? You want to see what I'm capable of? What I was going to do? I was Ghostface! You want me to be him again? You want to see what the Jill Roberts Ghostface is capable of?!
She raises the branch and SMASHES it on Devon's head. Devon is hissing, crying out. Jill SMASHES AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN, YELLING WITH EACH ATTACK.
JILL: I WAS GONNA CALL IT OFF!
SMASH!
JILL: I DECIDED TO CALL IT QUITS! BUT THEN FUCKING JENNY HAD TO COME ALONG WITH HER JEALOUSY AND PETTINESS!
SMASH! SMASH!
JILL: AND THEN SHE KILLED TREVOR! RIGHT AFTER HE AND I GOT BACK TOGETHER AND HE WAS GOING TO CHANGE - - AND SHE TOOK HIM FROM ME!
Jill is an absolute madwoman. Her hair flops on her head, her eyes are mad. She tosses the branch aside and stares down – Devon's head is completely caved in, beaten to a pulp like a watermelon.
And Jill, covered in blood, raises her head to the skies and lets out a feral scream.
JILL: ARE YOU WATCHING? HUH YOU PSYCHO?! IS THIS WHAT YOU WANTED?! WELL YOU GOT IT! YOU WANTED ME TO BE A PART OF YOUR GAME AND I'M ALL IN NOW! AND I'M COMING FOR YOU LIKE I CAME FOR JENNY! SO BRING IT!
