EXT. GRUBER'S HORROR MUSEUM – NIGHT
Billy exits his car. He's alone in the parking lot. He ducks under the police tape, past the animatronic JASON VORHEES statue. He looks around. His phone rings! He answers.
GHOSTFACE: You're late.
BILLY: I hit traffic!
GHOSTFACE: So did I and I still managed to get here. You're lucky, I was just about to carve up Amber's pretty little face first. Look down.
Billy looks down at his feet. There's a metal detector.
GHOSTFACE: Use it.
Billy sighs, bending down and using the metal detector on both legs. It goes off on his right leg.
GHOSTFACE: Show me.
Billy pulls out a pistol and waves it in the air.
GHOSTFACE: Chuck it into the bushes.
Billy complies, hurling it. He turns and heads for the front door.
GHOSTFACE: Not so fast, do you think I'm stupid? Use it again.
Billy sighs, using the metal detector once again. Revealing a second gun on the same leg. He chucks it into the bushes along with the first.
GHOSTFACE: Now – come in.
INT. HORORR MUSEUM – NIGHT
Billy walks into the museum, phone to his ear. He's in the Classic 1930's horror section, passing wax statues of Dracula, the Wolf Man, Frankenstein and the Creature From the Black Lagoon. Ghostface is talking, narrating.
GHOSTFACE: Good evening guests! I'll be your ghost host for the evening's activities. This exhibit is brought to you by the Golden Age of Cinema! Of course, these movies would never terrify modern audiences. But they had different intents. The horror – the real horror – of these movies was the loneliness of the monsters. They wanted love in a world which rejected them. They died alone – quite frankly – just like you will Billy-Boy.
BILLY: We'll see …
GHOSTFACE: You think risking your life like this will win her back don't you? You think you two have a chance, after everything that's happened?
BILLY: I believe that love is strong enough to overcome any and all obstacles.
GHOSTFACE: How very Shakespearean of you. Onto the next exhibit.
INT. CAMP CRYSTAL LAKE EXHIBIT – NIGHT
Billy walks through the replica of Camp Crystal Lake from the Friday the 13thseries. We hear the gentle sounds of lake water lapping and the notorious Ssshh sshh shh huhh huhh huhh. Billy looks up – he's face-to-face with JASON VORHEES.
A fake Jason. Another animatronic.
GHOSTFACE: Poor little Jason. He wasn't even the killer in the first movie. That honor belongs to Mrs. Vorhees. A mother, heartbroken over the death of her son. Enough to drive anyone mad.
BILLY: Is there a point to this?
GHOSTFACE: Aren't you enjoying the tour?
BILLY: I'd enjoy it more if you'd let my wife and family go.
GHOSTFACE: Don't be such a killjoy! After all, this is all happening because of you!
BILLY: You keep saying that, but you're not telling me why!
GHOSTFACE: You don't want the anticipation? The suspense must be killing you! But this is my domain. My partner was nice enough to show me how this how place works. I control everything here –
BILLY: Just like Desirae at the amusement park.
GHOSTFACE: She provided a template for me, yes. But she's not important. A nobody. A minor speed bump in the past that was barely noticed. Just like Sidney and Ned and Jenny – I am their successor in every way and I'll prove it by finally killing the two of you! Now, let's enjoy a fine tour of Haddonfield and a nice visit with our old friend Michael Myers!
CUT TO:
INT. EMPIRE STATE BUILDING – SECRET PASSAGE – NIGHT
A hatch pops up. Brian pulls Nicholette through. He's still in his Phantom of the Opera costume. He points a knife at her, motions with it towards a ladder.
BRIAN: Up.
Nicholette turns, still in her costume, and slowly ascends, rung by rung, Brian right behind her.
EXT. EMPIRE STATE BUILDING ROOFTOP – NIGHT
Nicholette staggers out onto the rooftop – the very same section where she and Brian had once shared a passionate kiss. She turns, eyes swimming.
NICHOLETTE: So are you going to kill me like the rest?
BRIAN: Of course not …
NICHOLETTE: Why? I thought you liked me …? Was it all a lie? To get me alone?
BRIAN: No – Nicky, I freaking love you!
He reaches for her hands. She slaps them away, backing away towards the edge.
BRIAN: Your life has been so much better since I've been in it! I killed off every leading actress, to ensure you got the leading role! You always told me in Drama Club you wanted to be on stage but were too shy! I had to do it! This was never about me – at least on my end. I can't speak for my partners, but I did it for you! To make you famous!
NICHOLETTE: I don't want fame like this!
BRIAN: No one would've known! No one has to know!
NICHOLETTE: And I'm supposed to just let you guys kill my parents?
BRIAN: You yourself said there was a rift between you and your mother. You were raped Nicholette! And when you tried to tell the truth, she didn't believe you! What kind of mother –
NICHOLETTE: The kind that's in pain! The kind that thinks her husband is cheating and he hasn't been paying attention –
BRIAN: A shitty mother! I realized something a few years ago, Nicky. After my brother died. He was so in love with Jill and it cost him his life! But he still went for it! He still realized that he was in love and tried to make things work with her!
NICHOLETTE: Your brother would never have done what you did!
She backs away further. She hits the guardrail.
BRIAN: What I did was get rid of a bunch of scumbags. Chantelle who stabbed everybody – even you – in the back and tried to get you booted from the show. Danny – your abusive boyfriend – I'm a hero! I saved you!
NICHOLETTE: I didn't need saving!
BRIAN: Yes you did. All the toxic people – yes, your parents are toxic – are about to be removed from your life! Excised like a cancer. You'll be free, Nicky, freer than you've ever been! Why can't you see that what I've done has been nothing but beneficial to you?! I've made your life better!
NICHOLETTE: By killing the people I care about?!
BRIAN: We can go around in circles all day arguing. Come on, Nicky. We can leave New York together. Let my partners take the fall for the killings. We can keep this our secret.
NICHOLETTE: Kirby knows – are you going to kill her too?!
Brian staggers. His face says it all. Nicholette nods knowingly.
NICHOLETTE: You will …
BRIAN: Not if you come away with me. I'll spare her, hell, I'll make my partners spare anyone you ask! Your parents, your friends – one phone call.
NICHOLETTE: And they'll cooperate?
BRIAN: They will – if they don't want me leaking their identities …
NICHOLETTE: How did you turn into this? The Brian I knew from High School was sweet, and sensitive –
BRIAN: (visible anger) And you ignored him!
Nicholette's mouth closes and her brow furrows. Brian is pacing now, waving his knife angrily.
BRIAN: You never showed even the slightest bit of interest in me back then! Come on, Nicky! You know it! It wasn't until I asserted myself, took what was mine that you even batted me an eyelash!
NICHOLETTE: I did notice you! You were just too timid to ever make a move!
Brian falters.
BRIAN: Well … that's all past now. We can start over. A blank slate.
He reaches a hand out to her.
NICHOLETTE: I can't …
BRIAN: You can – if you want your friends and family to live.
Nicholette backs upward onto the ledge. She steps up and over the railing. She's standing now on the top of the concrete blocks.
NICHOLETTE: One step backwards – and that'll be all it takes. I'll be splattered on the concrete below like King Kong!
It's Brian's turn to sweat.
BRIAN: You're bluffing!
NICHOLETTE: If you knew me as well as you say you do, you'd know I never bluff! Call your partners. Tell them to call off the massacre.
BRIAN: I … can't do that …
Nicholette edges herself backwards.
BRIAN: Stop! Even if you are bluffing, it's not stable!
NICHOLETTE: Then make the call. If you love me as much as you say you do … then you'll do it.
Brian stares at her, gritting his teeth.
INT. EMPIRE STATE BUILDING – STAIRWELL – NIGHT
Ace and Kirby race up the stairs. Ace doubles over and pants.
KIRBY: Only 70 more stories left to go!
ACE: Okay little Miss Perky Engine That Could – but I'm running on fumes here! Go ahead, I'll be along in a minute!
Ace doubles over, catching his breath.
INT. HORROR MUSEUM – NIGHT
Billy enters a room. The lights FLARE ON. He's in a replica of the fun house from SCREAMMAKE 2. Statues of clowns litter the room. He turns – someone is seated in a chair. He jumps – it's MARTHA in the chair. He stomach RIPPED open, a small television inserted into her chest cavity. Her mouth sliced open in a Joker-esque Glasgow smile.
BILLY: Martha … my God …
The television in her chest cavity BLARES TO LIFE. It's RANDY MEEKS onscreen. One of his old videos. Billy watches, tears in his eyes, as his old friends speaks. An old speech made so long ago … yet it's interspersed with static, jumping around, his voice faded and metallic.
RANDY: So what do you say in the midst of some of the most horrific events you can imagine? When friends are forced to say goodbye, sometimes forever? When things are completely out of your control and you feel helpless?
Billy is mesmerized. He stands watching his old friend continue his speech.
RANDY: Some people get lifetimes together and others a few short years, while others maybe even a few minutes? Well, the forces of the universe have their own agendas. We're to be taught something - it isn't the duration, it's the quality!
Around him, clowns are laughing.
RANDY: Love, like the horizon, is eternal. When it' s the real thing, it exists forever. Trying to shut it down is like trying to catch the horizon.
His video flickers. His words repeat.
RANDY: Love, like the horizon, is eternal. When it' s the real thing, it exists forever. Trying to shut it down is like trying to catch the horizon.
Repeat.
RANDY: It exists forever.
Repeat.
RANDY: Forever.
The video goes to static – and then – another video begins. Billy narrows his eyes. An old video, taken on an older Iphone. The person is watching from the bushes. It's a video of Billy as a teenager. He's out and about with a girl, completely oblivious to the fact that he's being filmed. The girl turns to give him a kiss on the cheek. Billy's stomach churns – SIDNEY PRESCOTT. What does this have to do with him and her? He backs away …
… and he stumbles into a clown mannequin. He jumps, surrounded by clown mannequins. The television goes to static, and a new image appears – GHOSTFACE. The image of the masked killer mocks Billy.
GHOSTFACE: Figured it out yet, Billy-Boy? Why this is happening to you?
BILLY: Who the hell are you?! Why are you doing this?
GHOSTFACE: Come to me. The Stab living room. It's time you and Tatum cleared the air …
CUT TO:
EXT. EMPIRE STATE BUILDING ROOFTOP – NIGHT
Below, people down in New York point up at Nicholette. They think she's a jumper. Police cars surround the perimeter. Spotlights focus on her. A helicopter hovers overhead. The news is filming them.
Nicholette turns to Brian.
NICHOLETTE: There's no getting out of this, Brian. The whole building is locked down. It was stupid to come here …
Brian peers over the edge.
NICHOLETTE: Turn yourself in – you need mental help!
BRIAN: I've had mental help. That's what got me into this mess!
Nicholette looks at him questioningly.
A door behind them is kicked in. Kirby bursts onto the rooftop, followed by a wheezing Ace.
ACE: I knew I should've worked by glutes this week!
Brian turns, pointing his knife at Kirby and Ace. Kirby sees Nicholette standing on the edge of the building.
KIRBY: Whoa.
Brian LASHES OUT, grabbing Kirby, holding the knife up to her neck.
BRIAN: Well Nicky, looks like I'm holding all the cards now. So how about you come down off there or I'll give Kirby a red necklace!
Nicholette stands there, now the tables have turned, completely unsure of what to do.
CUT TO:
INT. STAB EXHIBIT – NIGHT
Billy enters a mock living room from the Stab movies. The very one Shelly found herself in on the fateful night of her murder. The lights BLARE ON, revealing a mock back patio beyond a glass door. And three chairs are lined up in a row. Bound in all three, down the line, are DJ, Tatum and Nicholette.
Billy makes a move for the door – GHOSTFACE steps into view, blocking him.
GHOSTFACE: I wouldn't do that if I were you! I understand, love makes you do crazy things! I would know!
Ghostface unmasks - -
BILLY: Karen …
Karen Kolchec smiles evilly as she strips her Ghostface robe off, down to a professional pantsuit attire.
KAREN: Hello Billy – surprised.
Behind them, Tatum and DJ are completely stupefied. Tatum is struggling with her bindings. Karen circles Billy, who stares dead ahead at Tatum.
KAREN: But then the evidence was all right there. Who knew Nessa from long ago, was mentored by her? And of course, I knew Joni from long ago – she was one of my patients when I was practicing here in Jersey. And who convinced crazy Joni to get medication for Nessa – medication that would in fact enflame her organs, slowly killing her without Joni being any the wiser? Gathering you together all in one area for a funeral?
BILLY: You crazy bitch -.
KAREN: Oh, you have no idea. Who gave therapy to Trevor Sheldon's brother Brian after Trevor's tragic murder? Who learned of his love for your dear daughter Nicky and played on that to get him to do my bidding? And our third partner Lance – a student of mine when I taught university. Young, idealistic, easy to influence and manipulate. As for Dr. Sarius and PANTHYR, he was low-level in the organization. I ranked above him when they brought me on.
BILLY: You – you're a member of PANTHYR?
KAREN: Oh who cares about that tepid old organization these days? They were a useful tool to use their government contracts to set up Camp Wick, to terrorize Jill Roberts. I mean, Lance wouldn't be of any use without giving him a motivation, something to do to occupy him. So I played PANTHYR like an organ, just like Neddy did and boy did it have you all running, looking in all the wrong directions, worrying about poor Nicky and her play, leaving me free to come after my real targets. You and Tatum.
BILLY: (genuinely hurt) Why?
KAREN: Like I told you the other night when I found you outside moping – you and Tatum weren't the only ones with drama in Woodsboro High!
BILLY: Randy … this is about Randy?! For fucks sake that was over twenty years ago -.
KAREN: Tell that to Randy's baby I lost!
Billy stops. Karen has her teeth bared, knife raised.
KAREN: He and I hooked up. We did each other a favor, we said. Of course, he always pined for precious Sidney, held a torch for her for years! And when I found out I was pregnant – do you think anyone cared? Or when I lost the baby? Oh no, I was overshadowed by you and Tatum. Or have you forgotten – it was you hooking up with Tatum and knocking her up that set Sidney off and killed Randy as a result?! And who cared about me? What about my pregnancy! No one cared about me because all anyone cared about was Woodsboro's power couple Billy and Tatum! I was cast to the side, forced to into therapy. Nessa was kind to me, that's why it was so hard to manipulate Joni into killing her!
BILLY: You crazy bitch! For a psychologist –
KAREN: Hasn't anyone told you yet, Billy? Psychologists are the most fucked up people there are! That's why I went into the field at least – to figure out my own insanity by viewing it through the prism of my patients. And you know what I concluded – I'm just fucking insane. Because every night I dreamed of Randy and our child and all I could think of was how he was taken from me and how you and Tatum rode into the sunset happily ever after!
BILLY: In case you haven't noticed, it wasn't happily ever after!
KAREN: Oh, I noticed. I relished it. But that's still not enough! I have to make you suffer, make you pay! There was a camera in the hotel that night, Billy. Our night.
Billy stops. He stares at Karen. She grins evilly. Tatum stops struggling, looks at Billy through tear-stained eyes, behind her gag. What is she talking about?
BILLY: (begging) Karen … please …
Karen takes out a phone. She turns, holds it up to the glass door, right in Tatum's face. Tatum watches in horror as Billy and Karen have wild sex that night. She stares past Karen to Billy who couldn't be more ashamed and embarrassed.
BILLY: That was the night you told me about the divorce! At the singles club! Tatum … I'm sorry …
KAREN: Poor Billy-boy. Now Tatum will never want you back! And that's the best part … who cares about killing you when I've killed your relationship!
Tatum stares at Billy, her mascara running. Billy steps up to the glass. He puts his hand on it, staring at Tatum.
BILLY: I'm sorry … it was a mistake! But you told me it was over …
KAREN: But did she ever tell you she didn't love you anymore?
Billy stares into Tatum's eyes.
BILLY: You got divorce papers. You served me. I was there for you through four massacres … through cancer and its remission. I sat in the hospital through chemo. I held your hand … and you just threw me away like trash. Over something you could never prove! How could you believe I was cheating on you? After all the shit I was there with you for! Yes, I slept with Karen, but that was after you told me it was over!
Tatum looks down. She can't even look at Billy. He turns to Karen who is hovering nearby gloating.
BILLY: You can kill me. My life is over anyway. Just let the rest go, Karen.
KAREN: Well this is new!
BILLY: I died the day my marriage with Tatum died …
KAREN: An intriguing offer – here's my counteroffer!
She shoves BILLY into some equipment. He turns, sees Karen go through the glass door. She slams it shut and LOCKS it just as Billy reaches it. He watches as Karen slowly stands behind Tatum. She places the tip of her blade into Tatum's gut, pressing slowly, ever so slowly. Tatum's eyes widen. She cries out in pain.
KAREN: Tell me Billy – she hurt you so severely! Come now – I don't want you dead anymore! Shit that night was the best lay I've had in a while since Randy. My offer of you and I – a couple – still stands! So how about I stand here and gut Tatum. You can watch – enjoy – after all she's done to you!
And Billy stands there, helpless, as Karen slowly begins to sink her blade into Tatum's stomach.
EXT. EMPIRE STATE BUILDING ROOFTOP – NIGHT
Lights blare on Nicholette. She stands there in indecision as Brian holds Kirby at knifepoint. Behind him, Ace balls his fist –
BRIAN: Don't even try it, Brooklyn Queen.
ACE: First of all, that's very offensive –
BRIAN: I don't give a damn! (to Nicholette) So what's it going to be, Nicky? Come down off there.
KIRBY: Don't do it, Nicky! Forget about me!
NICHOLETTE: Kirby –
KIRBY: It'll be okay. I told everyone from the beginning – this is a Part 5. I was expecting to bite it from the get-go. Actually I'm surprised it didn't happen sooner.
NICHOLETTE: I can't make this decision -.
KIRBY: You have to!
BRIAN: You want her blood on your hands, Nicky?
He edges closer to Nicholette, reaching the edge of the building. He presses the knife tighter to Kirby's throat.
BRIAN: Look into her eyes, Nicky. She doesn't really mean what she's saying. She's not that brave. She's afraid to die. Do you really want to see one of your best friends mutilated before your eyes? Do you want me to do to her what I did to Danny?
Nicholette's eyes flash.
BRIAN: Have it your way -.
He prepares to SLASH Kirby's throat –
- A FIGURE LEAPS FROM NOWHERE, TACKLING BRIAN! BRIAN AND THE FIGURE GO OVER THE EDGE TOGETHER!
Kirby – now free- grabs Nicholette, helping her down off the ledge.
Brian plummets the full one hundred and ten stories. The onlookers below gasp in horror and – SPLAT! He lands on his back, his face frozen in perpetual fear and confusion.
As for the figure that jumped him –
LUCY hangs from the edge of the Empire State Building. She cries out.
LUCY: Someone wanna help me?!
Nicholette and Kirby grab her by the wrists and pull her over. Kirby dusts her off.
KIRBY: Lucy? How'd you know –
LUCY: My stepbrother Richie. He's in Camp Wick. He got a phone somehow, called me, told me the killer was going to make his move. I was hanging out backstage, stewing over how my role was stolen by Nicholette – no offense Nicky –
NICHOLETTE: Yeah, I did kinda steal it from you.
LUCY: - but when Brian vanished with her, I decided to tail you and Ace.
KIRBY: And boy am I glad you decided to be a stalker tonight.
ACE: What about me?
KIRBY: Shut up, Ace.
ACE: I helped! I'm a hero! Forget superstar, Ace Rinaldo, superhero!
KIRBY: Don't give up your day job at Subway.
CUT TO:
INT. MUSEUM – NIGHT
Tatum is crying out as the tip of Karen's knife slowly penetrates her stomach. Billy is banging on the door, charging it full-force, trying to shatter through it. He makes eye contact with Tatum – his hand on the glass – completely helpless.
A voice comes from behind him.
GALE: Billy! Get down!
Behind him, Gale and Dewey stand there. Dewey fires several rounds of bullets from his gun. They shatter the glass – each bullet misses Karen who screams, ducking out from range, disappearing behind a hidden door. Dewey empties his entire clip.
BILLY: Gale – Dewey?
GALE: DJ wasn't picking up his phone! We were sitting in traffic, heading into New York, frantic like you wouldn't believe when Dewey had a hunch!
DEWEY: A good hunch.
Dewey rushes towards Tatum – he lifts her shirt, sees the cut isn't too deep.
DEWEY: Gale, Billy – attend to them! I'll get Karen.
Billy shoves his way past Dewey as Gale works on DJ's bindings.
BILLY: No – I'm going after Karen!
INT. STAB EXHIBIT – NIGHT
Billy storms into a room, armed with a shard of broken glass. He's in a dark, large room. The strobe lights turn on – he's surrounded by an army of Ghostface mannequins. He walks through them, his eyes darting, looking for any sign of movement.
Karen JUMP out from the darkness, grabbing Billy by his shirt, hurling him into a Ghostface mannequin. She snarls, jumps on him, knife raised. She STRIKES down, into his shoulder! Billy cries out, his shirt blossoming red. He SLAMS his palm into Karen's face, sending her flying. Karen is up, snarling.
BILLY: You're such a Karen … Karen!
Her eyes flash. She HURLS a second knife at his head. He twists – it misses by inches. She runs down the aisle of mannequins, reaches the end of the room, smashes the lights. The room is filled with darkness. She stumbles out through a doorway into another exhibit.
Billy falters, meandering through the darkness. He follows in her wake, through the door.
INT. HALLOWEEN EXHIBIT – NIGHT
Billy finds himself surrounded by white sheets in what appears to be a basement. A recreation of the sheet scene from Halloween 5 – the very place Shelly was chased by the killers in the beginning. Billy looks up – sees Karen's face between the sheets.
BILLY: Come quietly Karen – there's no getting out of this!
Karen reaches the end of the room, slams her way through a door.
INT. HALLOWEEN EXHIBIT – NIGHT
They're in the second Halloween exhibit. A TV flares on – DR. LOOMIS talking about Michael Myers.
DR. LOOMIS (V/O): I met him, 15 years ago; I was told there was nothing left; no reason, no conscience, no understanding in even the most rudimentary sense of life or death, of good or evil, right or wrong. I met this... six-year-old child with this blank, pale, emotionless face, and... the blackest eyes - the Devil's eyes. I spent eight years trying to reach him, and then another seven trying to keep him locked up, because I realized that what was living behind that boy's eyes was purely and simply... evil.
The soundtrack begins – The Shape Stalks Laurie (Youtube watch?v=yTK0ih6cEC4). Billy's eyes dart around – there's a mannequin of Michael Myers. But where's Karen?
Behind him, Michael Myers COMES TO LIFE. His breathing is deep behind the mask. Billy wanders the exhibit, past the Dr. Loomis video. He turns – MICHAEL EMBEDS HIS KNIFE INTO HIS SHOULDER! Michael removes the mask – it's KAREN underneath! She kicks Billy, sending him flying down a doorway.
Billy tumbles down a flight of stairs. Karen appears at the top, blade in hand. She slowly descends each step, one at a time. Billy crawls backwards, his leg completely messed up from the fall. Karen takes her time, each step one at a time.
She reaches the bottom – and PINS Billy in place with her foot. She cocks her head with mock sympathy, kneeling down beside him. She raises the knife –
KAREN: Goodbye, Billy. We could've been so good together …
BILLY: I'll see you in Hell!
Karen smiles – STRIKES DOWN – it's blocked by a machete. Tatum is there, holding an actual machete from the Friday the 13thseries.
TATUM: Billy – stand back. You don't want to get any blood on you.
KAREN: The only one bleeding will be you!
Karen charges, slashing wildly. Tatum staggers out of the way, still smarting from her injury. She grabs Karen by the arm, SMASHING her into a glass exhibit. Karen's face is riddled with glass. Tatum knees her in the gut, throwing her down.
Karen looks up, shocked, as Tatum stands over her, machete raised.
TATUM: Like Billy said – see you in HELL bitch!
She SLASHES DOWNWARD – BILLY GRABS HER WRIST, STOPPING HER!
BILLY: No Tatum!
Tatum struggles in his grip.
TATUM: Let me go Billy, I'm finishing this bitch off!
BILLY: She's already beaten. There's been enough bloodshed over the years.
Tatum turns to look at him. He smiles, expecting a loving response.
Tatum is filled with nothing but fury.
TATUM: I see … you still have feelings for her …
BILLY: What? No! It's just that … after all these years, I'm tired of killing. She can go to jail.
TATUM: Have it your way.
She aims the blade of her machete at Karen's throat.
TATUM: You, on the other hand, aren't going anywhere but to prison. And if you move a muscle before the police get here – I'll slice you up like a sturgeon. Fair Billy?
Beat.
BILLY: Fair.
EXT. EMPIRE STATE BUILDING – GROUND LEVEL – NIGHT
Nicholette emerges with Kirby, Lucy and Ace. The crowd gathered around the building breaks out in applause. Kirby and Nicholette are exhausted. They mindlessly absorb it. Ace – well, you can picture the level of his humility.
ACE: I'm the hero! It was all me! They did nothing!
Lucy is overwhelmed. People are applauding her. She breaks down in tears of happiness.
The four of them stand over Brian's body. Lucy whistles.
LUCY: A fall from that height would kill anyone.
KIRBY: Nay. 'Twas beauty that killed the beast.
Her eyes fall on Nicholette.
EXT. CAMP WICK – EARLY MORNING
Jill sits on a stoop outside a camp cabin. Richie has his arm around her and they snuggle. In the distance, they can hear cop sirens. Richie stands up.
RICHIE: And that's my cue to leave.
JILL: Richie?
RICHIE: C'mon Jill. You think the cops are going to really going to go easy on me? As far as they're concerned, I committed patricide. They're not going to see the hero. And I ain't going back to jail. (Beat) Come with me.
JILL: Richie, it won't be like that! I'll vouch for you -.
RICHIE: Thanks. But I plan on finding my own way in the world. A change of identity, I think. And … maybe I'll pay a visit to my real parents.
JILL: You can't just end things like this -.
RICHIE: Hey, if they go easy on you, I'll be in touch. You and me – we ain't over Jill. Not by a longshot.
He grabs her, kissing her passionately. The sirens are coming closer. He breaks the kiss and just holds her, staring down at her.
RICHIE: I'll call you soon.
JILL: Text me.
RICHIE: Soon. I promise.
He gives her one last kiss on the forehead, turns and runs into the trees. Jill approaches the cop cars which are pulling up to the camp, hands up, ready to explain everything.
INT. HOTEL LOBBY – MORNING
DJ and Dewey help themselves to a continental breakfast at one of New York's premier hotels. Several cops are questioning the survivors. Billy sees Tatum finish with questioning. He stuffs a muffin into his mouth and stands up, approaching her.
BILLY: Tatum – can we talk?
TATUM: After everything – I can spare a minute.
The two step aside into a small room with a sofa. Tatum sits down and crosses her leg. Billy is pacing.
BILLY: Look – about everything –
TATUM: Billy, first let me thank you for everything you did last night. You saved me again. That's five times now.
BILLY: I would always throw myself into harm's way for you – you know that -.
TATUM: But that doesn't change things between us.
BILLY: I just saved your life –
TATUM: From a woman you just slept with!
BILLY: Because you signed divorce papers!
TATUM: Which I expect signed from you within the week. I still want the divorce, Billy.
BILLY: Be reasonable –
TATUM: I am. I have to do what's right for me, and what's right for me is to not be with you anymore. Forget Karen Kolchec, she's not the issue. You cheated on me, Billy! Don't say a word! Those were not my panties in your car!
BILLY: I'm telling you I don't know they got there!
TATUM: All the long nights you spent away "working." When you came home all hours of the night reeking of alcohol. And all the times I tried – yes, I tried Billy – to talk to you, to get you to see things from my point of view. Finally, there came I time when I just stopped trying because you stopped listening!
BILLY: I'm not listening now!
TATUM: You're not! Because you're still arguing with me over surface things like alcohol, or the panties and not the real issues about our marriage! It's over, Billy. Done.
BILLY: But Karen was right – you never did say you stopped loving me.
TATUM: I will always love you, Billy. But … sometimes that just isn't enough. I expect those papers signed – goodbye, Mr. Loomis.
Billy stares down at her, at the woman he had been through so much together with. He can't believe that this is really how it's ending, after all that. He nods, accepting it.
BILLY: You'll have your divorce papers signed within the week, Miss Riley.
He turns, approaches the door. He stops.
BILLY: For what it's worth – I don't regret any of the good times we had.
TATUM: Neither do I, if that's any small consolation.
Billy nods again, before he walks out the door and her life. Tatum lets herself cry a few, final tears for her ex-husband. After a moment, she gathers her stuff.
There's a knock on the door. She looks up.
TATUM: Nicky – I thought it was your father again.
Nicholette appears pale, terrified. She's wringing her fingers nervously.
TATUM: Nicky?
Nicholette bursts into tears.
NICHOLETTE: Mom … there's something I have to tell you.
TATUM: What is it?
NICHOLETTE: It's something I already told you – but you didn't believe me. Please – you have to believe me this time. I swear to God, Mom. I swear I'm telling the truth.
TATUM: What's going on -?
NICHOLETTE: Those panties you found in Dad's car belonged to me.
Beat.
Tatum stares at her daughter.
NICHOLETTE: Mom, it was my first boyfriend – he –
Tatum stands up.
TATUM: When were you going to tell me?
NICHOLETTE: I did tell you! You didn't believe me!
TATUM: Of course I would have believed you!
NICHOLETTE: But you didn't! You accused me of making stuff up to defend Dad and you told me that I loved Dad more than you and I just … never brought it up again – but Mom, you can't punish Dad, please -.
TATUM: That's enough. My own daughter. (Beat) The panties were never the issue. That was the straw that broke the camel's back.
NICHOLETTE: Can't you forgive him?
TATUM: After everything – I don't think so. Thank you for telling me, Nicholette. Though it's unfortunate you never had the guts to tell me sooner, when it might've actually made a difference in my marriage!
NICHOLETTE: I'm sorry, Mom.
Tatum stands up, grabbing her purse.
NICHOLETTE: That's not all. The reason they were in Dad's car –
TATUM: I don't want to hear anymore, not a word more! Go – be with your father. I … I don't think I can talk to either of you for a while.
Nicholette turns, running out the door, tears streaming down her face. Tatum collapses into a chair, exhausted, burying her hands in her face and allowing herself to sob.
INT. COURT ROOM – MORNING – A FEW DAYS LATER
A judge sits at the head of the court room. Jill stands before him. The judge is reading her paperwork.
JUDGE: Well … this is all a bit unorthodox. But given your aid in capturing a very dangerous criminal and for revealing PANTHYR's infiltration of the very bedrock of our justice system – as well as reviewing your previous files and considering that you technically did not murder anyone during the so-called "Reboot Murders" … your early parole is approved.
Jill can barely contain her excitement.
JUDGE: Parole with conditions. You are not to leave Woodsboro. In a year, if there are no incidents, we can revisit the terms of your parole.
He bangs his gavel. Jill cheers. There are other cheers from the audience. As Jill turns and walks out, Kirby, Lucy and Nicholette embrace her. Jill cries tears of joy, mixing with their tears.
INT. COURT HOUSE HALLWAY – AFTERNOON
Jill walks, fully dressed in street clothes, a free woman. Well, as free as you can be on parole. Kirby and Nicholette are happily discussing the first thing they intend to do with Jill – Jill looks up and sees a guy at the far end. A guy wearing a baseball cap. He nods to her, before disappearing.
A random person hands her a slip of paper.
RANDOM GUY: Hey, that guy in the baseball cap wanted me to pass this on.
He walks away. Jill unfurls the paper. Written on it, it says – You asked for a text.
Jill smiles. Richie had kept his promise.
INT. JAIL CELL – NIGHT
Karen Kolchec sits on a cot in a high security prison. She stares at a wall, mulling over her life and thinking of Randy and how she ended up here. Damn that Billy and Tatum – she'd get out of here. She'll get them if it's the last thing she does!
A guard appears.
GUARD: You got a phone call.
KAREN: Aren't I usually the one who makes the one phone call?
GUARD: Cute. Warden says you can take it.
KAREN: Fine, fine – let's see who needs me this urgently.
INT. PRISON PHONE BOOTH – NIGHT
The guard sits Karen down at a desk. Three guards stand there with high-powered rifles. An older corded phone sits in front of her. The guard nods. She picks up the receiver, putting it to her ear.
KAREN: Hello?
GHOSTFACE: Hello, Karen. Who told you that you could wear my mask?
Karen's eyes widen.
GHOSTFACE: You came close with your plan. But it had one fatal flaw. You underestimated Billy and Tatum.
KAREN: Who is this?
GHOSTFACE: Your … successor. You can rest easy, Karen. My plan leaves nothing to chance. Nothing to fate and certainly accounts for Billy and Tatum. Aaah, how beautiful it'll be when I terrorize this entire continent – from sea to shining sea. I've been planning this – for years even – oh if only our dear Sidney could be alive to see her legacy come full bloom. But you – well, I'm afraid you won't be around long enough to see my glory!
The LIGHTS GO OUT!
The guards shout orders. Karen sits there, breathing deeply. Something in black darts behind her – a guard screams, unloading with his rifle. There's the sound of metal, a gagging, blood spattering. The two other guards unleash hell. Karen watches, catching glimpses of a black figure – moving with incredible speed and agility. Taking down another cop, stabbing up through the bottom of his jaw, flecking her with bone and brain matter.
The last guard reloads, aiming into nothing. We catch flashes, a figure in black with a white mask. The guard cries, screaming as his back is sliced apart, ripped downwards through his ribcage.
Within seconds, the guards have been reduced to pure carnage.
The lights FLARE ON.
Karen sits there, breathing sharply, accepting her fate. Blood and gore line the walls. She closes her eyes as a new Ghostface appears behind her, SINKING HIS BLADE INTO THE SIDE OF HER HEAD! Ghostface YANKS it out and vanishes into the night.
We angle on Karen's face, her empty eyes as we …
FADE OUT
THE END
