INT. BILLY'S HOUSE – BEDROOM – NIGHT
Sidney sits upright in bed, Billy snuggled up next to her. She smiles down at his sleeping face, ruffling his hair. She swings her feet over the side of the bed and zips her jeans back up, throwing on an overshirt. Billy sits up.
BILLY: That … was amazing …
SIDNEY: Me too …
BILLY: Dewey'll be looking for you.
SIDNEY: I know. I'm gonna call him now, let him know I'm okay and where I am.
Billy stands up, kissing her on the forehead.
BILLY: I'll be in the bathroom.
He exits the room and Sidney opens her phone, preparing to send Dewey a text. Instead, her phone vibrates.
Her eyes widen – it's a video of RANDY – gagged in the back of a car.
Her phone goes off – the ringtone is "Lollipop" by the Chordettes. She presses the phone to her ear, anger crossing her face.
SIDNEY: You want me. Leave him alone you fucking coward!
GHOSTFACE: It'll all be exposed Sidney. Things are coming to a head. We've reached the FINAL ACT!
SIDNEY: Then come get me you coward!
GHOSTFACE: No. You come to me. You have one hour. And if you call the police … if you even as much as send Dewey a single text – I'll gut him on the spot!
Billy enters the bedroom, confusion on his face. He sees the look of horror on his girlfriend and realizes – she's on the phone with the killer. Sidney puts him on speaker.
SIDNEY: Where?
GHOSTFACE: Where it all began! Besides – don't you want to know the truth, Sid? Don't you want to know who really killed your mother?
The line goes dead.
CUT TO:
INT. BILLY'S HOUSE – FOYER
Billy is chasing Sidney down the stairs.
BILLY: You can't go!
SIDNEY: I'm done sitting on the sidelines.
BILLY: It's a trap.
SIDNEY: Then we spring it and catch this fucker for good.
Billy grabs her arm.
BILLY: Call the police. Call Dewey!
SIDNEY: He'll kill Randy. Besides … it's me he wants. It's me he'll get. I'm tired of sitting on the sidelines while he kills all my friends.
BILLY: Then I'm coming with you.
SIDNEY: You don't have to -.
BILLY: Sid – I'm with you to the end.
She smiles and gets on her tiptoes to kiss him.
THE DOORBELL RINGS!
BILLY: Shit! Get behind me!
He cautiously opens the door –
- TATUM springs in.
TATUM: Is everyone okay? My goodness, Sidney –
SIDNEY: Tatum – what are you doing here?
TATUM: Didn't – haven't you watched the news?
SIDNEY: We were … erm … a little busy.
TATUM: Cotton Weary is dead. The cops are all out looking for you! I better let Dewey know you're safe –
BILLY: No!
SIDNEY: We just got a call from the killer. He has Randy – he said he'll kill him if we call the police.
BILLY: He's not the type of guy to bluff.
TATUM: What're you gonna do?
SIDNEY: Face my fears.
TATUM: Then I'm coming with you!
SIDNEY: No. Enough people have died on my account.
TATUM: Sid – I should've let you know about me and Billy. Let me make it up to you.
Sidney bites her lip, unsure.
CUT TO:
EXT. MURDER HOUSE – NIGHT
Judy Hick's car pulls up to the Murder House. Casey is in the passenger seat, terribly confused.
CASEY: This … isn't the police station …
Judy gets out and she opens Casey's door, helping Casey get out.
JUDY: No … this is the right place …
Casey steps out, shuddering.
CASEY: Why are we here?
Judy is staring at the Murder House in awe.
JUDY: This is where it all began … do you believe in fate, Casey?
Casey is backing away, looking for a means of escape.
CASEY: You're the killer …
Judy turns suddenly and looks highly insulted.
JUDY: I am not the killer! But I think I know who is …
Casey is still backing away.
JUDY: If I were the killer, I had ample opportunity to do you in in my car!
CASEY: Then who is the killer?
Judy motions for her to follow. Casey follows at a snails pace, fingers nervously playing.
JUDY: All in good time. But let me ask you this … do you believe in alternate timelines?
CASEY: The killer asked me that …
JUDY: He's ahead of the curve too. In another universe, we would have all been different people, had circumstances in our lives played out differently. You may have very well been the first victim.
CASEY: I don't understand where you're going with this …
JUDY: You need to understand … what makes someone a killer. Several of your friends are dead. They were all bullies like you -.
CASEY: Now hold on -.
JUDY: Don't deny it. I won't say I'm overly sorry. But you, Casey – you survived this long. You have a chance to change.
They walk further up the long driveway. There is a car parked at the edge of the woods. Judy points it out.
JUDY: Neil Prescott's car.
CASEY: Sidney's Dad? Then he's the killer?!
JUDY: No. He's just a red herring. But the killer's been using it to get around.
CASEY: But that means –
JUDY: Neil Prescott is dead. The killer is sure to have called Sidney, I know it. Lure her here. That's why I brought you here … we can't let her face him alone. Are you in? If not, I'll take you straight to the police station … but if you want to help Sidney …
Casey thinks.
CASEY: We'll stay … warn her.
JUDY: Correction. You will warn her.
Judy smiles, closing her eyes, as though accepting something inevitable.
JUDY: You should really start running. He's here.
Casey blinks –
A SILVER KNIFE IS STICKING OUT OF JUDY'S BACK!
JUDY: You can help them, Casey. Run!
Ghostface yanks the blade out of Judy's back and the weird girl crumples to the ground in a heap.
Casey turns and runs into the house.
The killer stops. No need to rush. He's got her trapped now.
INT. BILLY'S CAR – NIGHT
Sidney sits, worried as she stares ahead at the mansion at the end of the driveway. Billy is nervously steering.
Behind them, Tatum seems cool as a cucumber.
They pull up to the house. They see Judy's car parked there.
SIDNEY: Whose car is that?
BILLY: I've seen it at school. Sickie-Hickie?
Sidney stares at him.
SIDNEY: You don't think …
BILLY: All that talk of multiple universes and her stalking you … it damn well probably is!
They exit. Billy pops the trunk and pulls out a baseball bat. Hands a couple hockey sticks to Sidney and Tatum.
BILLY: Anything moves – you swing. Don't even think. Stick close.
The trio slowly approach the Murder House. Sidney sighs.
TATUM: We're right behind you.
Nodding, Sidney pushes the door open.
INT. MURDER HOUSE – NIGHT
The trio jump into the house, waving their makeshift weapons, screaming like maniacs. Nothing pops out at them. The house is silent.
SIDNEY: Randy?! Randy, we're here!
TATUM: Let the killer know we're here, why don't you.
BILLY: That's what he wants …
They enter the kitchen. Nothing but silence.
SIDNEY: Randy?
A door flings open and a figure jumps out at them.
TATUM: Die you monster!
She whacks the person with her hockey stick.
CASEY: No, no it's me, Casey!
TATUM: Die you monster!
Billy stops Tatum and looks at Casey.
BILLY: What are you doing here?
CASEY: That weirdo – Sickie Hickie – she was on about some parallel universe shit and how I'm destined to help you guys or something.
TATUM: Where is she? Where's Judy?
CASEY: He got her! I think she wanted it … I only just got away.
TATUM: I don't buy it.
BILLY: Me either.
CASEY: Seriously? All I want is to get home!
SIDNEY: I believe her.
TATUM: What?
SIDNEY: There's no way … she may have been a bitch … but she couldn't do to Megan and Jenna what was done to them.
CASEY: I knew you weren't so bad, Prescott.
BILLY: What now?
TATUM: Randy's running out of time. Should we split up?
BILLY: We'd be easier pickings for the killer.
TATUM: And we'd cover more ground and find Randy easier.
CASEY: Please tell me you're taking me home.
BILLY: How do we do this?
Tatum looks around the kitchen. She grabs a handful of small spoons and big spoons and holds them out.
TATUM: Big spoon with big spoon. Little spoon with little spoon.
The four surround her. Casey draws a big spoon. As does Billy. She smiles at him.
CASEY: At least I get the big strong man to protect me.
TATUM: Looks like it's you and me, Sid.
BILLY: First sign of trouble, scream. The others will come find you.
They nod, Billy pairing off with Casey to scour upstairs and Sidney with Tatum.
INT. MURDER HOUSE – SECOND FLOOR
Casey walks upstairs with Billy, the two using their cell phones as flashlights.
CASEY: So tell me … is it true? You and Tatum …?
BILLY: That's ancient history.
CASEY: And you and Sid -?
BILLY: Still going strong.
He peers into a bedroom. Nothing but dust.
CASEY: Why don't we just call the police and get out of here? That's what I don't understand …
BILLY: He'll kill Randy.
CASEY: He'll kill us all and Randy. So I don't see –
Billy stops her.
BILLY: Wait –
He enters the master bedroom, Casey huddled behind him. They enter the room … a figure is sitting on a rocking chair, its back to them. Rocking back and forth. Back and forth.
Billy touches the chair … it spins …
IT'S THE CORPSE OF RANDY! The killer hadn't kept his word. He was dead already.
Billy jumps back from the horror scene, cradling Casey, shielding her eyes.
BILLY: Shit!
CASEY: Please … I never wanted to be a part of this …
She backs away … Ghostface BURSTS out of a closet, his knife thrusting hard into her back. She stands there, paralyzed, eyes widening.
BILLY: Casey!
He staggers back.
Ghostface tosses her aside and she hits the ground. Billy backs away, stumbling over himself.
BILLY: SIDNEY! TATUM! RUN!
He races down the stairs, Ghostface on his trail. He jumps the last few steps, landing on the catwalk. Ghostface reaches a landing and leaps from the top like a horrific bat. He slugs his knife right into Billy's back.
Billy is screaming, banging his hands on the floor in pain. Ghostface turns him over and hammers the knife right into Billy's chest.
THUNK!
Bill stiffens … his body twitches … and then moves no more.
Up above, Casey is crawling along the floor, crying, blood pooling around her. She struggles … then hears footsteps coming back upstairs.
CASEY: (weakly) … No
Ghostface appears back upstairs.
Crying, Casey turns, crawling in the opposite direction. Ghostface reaches out, grabbing her ankle.
CASEY: No … no, no!
He drags her back, her fingers clawing at the wood.
Ghostface grips her by the throat, forcing her to stand up. A noose is thrown around her neck. Casey is begging, pleading.
Ghostface drags her into another bedroom, and with a surge of strength, hurls her through the window with a crash.
Casey's body falls through the window – then snaps to a halt, hanging from the second floor. Ghostface turns, and vanishes into the darkness.
INT. MURDER HOUSE – FIRST FLOOR
Sidney and Tatum are walking through the lower level. They hear screaming.
TATUM: Did you hear that?
SIDNEY: Billy!
Tatum grabs her.
TATUM: Move!
Ghostface bursts out from the shadows, his knife slashing towards Sidney. She ducks, rolling behind a couch.
Tatum grabs her hockey stick and swings. The killer grabs it, wrenching it out of her hands, tossing it aside. Tatum grabs a lamp, picture frames – anything, hurling it.
Sidney bursts out, swinging her hockey stick. Ghostface slugs his knife, impaling her hand. Sidney cries out, holding her blooding fingers, staggering back towards the door leading to the basement. She falls backwards, several steps at a time, landing at the bottom at a heap.
TATUM: Sidney!
Ghostface slashes across her chest. Tatum's shirt blossoms red. She falls to her knees.
TATUM: Then finish it, if you have the guts!
Instead, Ghostface grabs Tatum by the hair. She screams, struggling, as he drags her towards the entrance to the cellar. He throws her down the stairs, and she lands next to Sidney with a snap. Her ankle is broken.
She groans, struggling to sit up.
Above, Ghostface is descending the stairs slowly, enjoying this.
Tatum shakes Sidney.
TATUM: Sid – get up, get up!
Sidney sits up – sees the killer advancing down the stairs.
SIDNEY: Tatum!
She limps to her feet, helping Tatum get up. Tatum holds her broken foot, limping. She points to a door at the far end of the cellar.
TATUM: The tunnel!
Ghostface has reached the bottom step.
TATUM: Come on!
Sidney takes her hand –
… and there's a CLANG as Tatum's arm is handcuffed to the lead pipe across the wall.
TATUM: What?
Sidney steps back and simply smiles. She raises a device to her mouth.
SIDNEY: Surprise, Tatum.
The device has changed her voice to that of the killer's.
