Rin wakes up at 8 am and heads over to the dining hall where Kagome's and Inuyasha's wedding will be held. Anything Kagome asked of her to do, she did. It was now time for her to get ready for the wedding, she got dressed, makeup done, and her hair done. She looked into the mirror, and she thought she looked so beautiful but she did not feel beautiful.
I was desperate that day when I went on a blind date. Every relationship I ever been in failed, I was too boring for them, and I sacrificed my happiness for theirs. Then I met you Sesshomaru and you showed so much interest in me, it was too good to be true. Therefore, it being a one-night stand I understood that we would never pursue anything. Last night you told me, you would have liked to pursue things; I shut it down because deep down within me, you would not truly want me, she thought to herself.
"Rin!" Kagome yells. "You look stunning girl!" Rin turns around.
Rin eyes widen at Kagome, "You talk about me, and your lovely cousin! I could never out do the bride".
"Thank you my dear, just think I was so pissed at Inuyasha, I almost called it off". They both laugh.
Rin thoughts starts to plague her mind again and she could no longer keep it to herself, and she had to tell Kagome about her and Sesshomaru.
"Kagome, do we have time to talk before the wedding starts?"
"Yes, we have some time to spare, what is on your mind?"
"I do not want to talk about me on your wedding day, so never mind we can talk after".
"Uh no ma'am, spill. What do you have to say?"
"It is about Sesshomaru, he was my one-night stand".
"Whhhaaaattttt!" Kagome yells out.
"Kagome not so loud" Rin saying trying to hush Kagome.
"Are you freaking serious, that damn asshole!"
"Well, he was not an asshole to me; he was very sweet and kind to me".
"Well, this actually works out because I did want you guys to meet but after the engagement dinner, I said it was not a good idea, he was so damn moody. He was killing the vibe".
"It just happens to be a coincidence that we already knew each other and how crazy that would have been to meet again with you introducing us".
"Me and Inuyasha did not think he had it in him, especially Inuyasha. So, what does this mean, are you going to pursue something with him?"
"I am afraid Kagome; we were not supposed to meet again but I never stopped thinking about him. I didn't get into any relationships because in the back of mind I wanted him. We do not know each other but he made me believe last night after you left that it could have been something".
"Wow Sesshomaru you are full of tricks! I guess he can be a nice guy," Kagome says.
"Kagome! Focus! What should I do? You know how self-conscious I am".
"If Sesshomaru said it would have been a possibility then take it for what that is, do not question it. I think you should go about the day letting things just flow. Do not think too hard on this, things will work out if it was meant to be".
"Thank you, Kagome, I feel a little better now".
They hug and the rest of Kagome's wedding party enters the room. Rin's attention is now on Kagome's and the wedding planner comes in and tells them it is time to get in their places as the wedding is about to start.
They walk out and Rin and Sesshomaru stare into each other's eyes and Kagome smiles. Rin takes his arm and Sesshomaru says very low, "You look absolutely breath-taking".
Rin smiles, "The sight of you nearly took mine away" she says as she looks up at him. Sesshomaru thought Rin did not want to pursue things but was she showing interest now? He would have to get to the bottom of it sometime during the reception or when they meet for dinner. They walk down the aisle to their perspective places and watch the rest of the wedding party come down the aisle.
Rin watches as Kagome is coming down the aisle and she realizes one day she would hope that would be her coming down the aisle to marry her husband. When Kagome gets beside Inuyasha, Rin watches them interact and she smiles and then she looks up at Sesshomaru and he glances at her, and they stare at each other for a moment with such hunger.
As the wedding ends, they all walk out and head to the reception area where they are called in one by one. They take their seats and were called by table to get food. Rin and Sesshomaru are seated together along with Kagome and her parents, Inuyasha, him and Sesshomaru's parents.
Kagome keeps kicking Rin, to have her talk to Sesshomaru. Kagome leans over, "Say something to him." she whispers.
"I do not know what to say" Rin says nervously.
"So big brother, are you dating anyone?"
Rin turns red.
Sesshomaru trying not to lose his cool in front of Rin responds, "We should not be talking about whom I am dating when you just got married, we are here to celebrate you and Inuyasha's union".
Kagome, Inuyasha, and his father looked at Sesshomaru in shock, as he did not snap on Kagome.
Inuyasha and Kagome head out to the dance floor and Rin watches them excitingly.
Sesshomaru looks to Rin, and he sees her glistening, "Rin" he says.
She turns to look at him, "Yes".
"Would you want to experience something like this one day?"
"It was not really in my plans but when I saw every detail of the wedding, it kind of made me wonder. How about you?"
"I am like you; it was not in my plans until I met you, now I can see it!"
Rin eyes widen and looks to him and he had the softest look on his face. The music slows down, he asks Rin for a dance, and she says yes.
Inuyasha looking over at Rin and Sesshomaru, and was in shock, he was about to yell something, but Kagome says, "Leave him be".
As they are dancing Sesshomaru says, "Rin I do not see anyone in here but you".
"Why are you trying to pursue this? Rin says blushing.
"I told you I was not opposed to going further than that one night with you".
"What does that mean exactly?"
As Sesshomaru goes to say something, they are interrupted, "Excuse me Sesshomaru, there is someone here to see you" says another demon in disguise.
Sesshomaru walks Rin to her seat and told her not to do dance with anyone else.
"I can't promise that!" she laughs jokingly. Sesshomaru smiles.
Sesshomaru turns and a female yokai was behind him, "Why am I not here as your plus one" says the female demon.
"Akira if you are not on the guest list then you were not invited".
Sesshomaru trying to move away from the table so Rin does not hear the conversation, but Akira will not budge.
"Sesshomaru, I am on the guest list because I am your plus one".
"Have you lost your mind? You will not barge into my family's event as an uninvited guest".
"It has been over a year almost, and you just leave me in the dirt Sesshomaru"
Kagome sees Rin in distress over the conversation and tells Inuyasha to send one of his friends to dance with Rin. Inuyasha sends Kohaku over to get Rin to dance with him.
Sesshomaru is pissed because he feels his mate getting angry. Rin goes to get up, "Excuse Me Rin, may I have a dance with you?"
Rin did not look Sesshomaru's way and said, "Yes I would".
Sesshomaru turns to Akira and Akira says, "Do you have a thing for that human, I saw you dancing with her, why don't we dance together," she said smiling.
Sesshomaru walks away from her and to his father, "May I speak to you father?"
Toga looks at him and could feel his need of guidance. "Come along, let's talk about it".
They go off to a corner and Sesshomaru started, "Father I have been looking for someone for quite some time, my mate. One thing led to another a year ago and she disappeared. She is now within my grasp, and I am pouring myself to her but she is resistant and not to mention Akira showing up".
Toga looks at Sesshomaru with surprise as he kind of understands why he has been moody more than often.
"The best advice I can give you is not to give up. Our mates are not perfect, hell we are not either. We can't get involved with someone thinking its going to be peaches and cream, you are impatient and you want her now, focus on getting to know each other. Break that barrier down you both may have, and it will all come together. She may be frustrated right now with Akira but you will need to create a space to where you both are comfortable and she feels safe. Talk with her, don't give up just now".
This what Sesshomaru needed, he would wait patiently for Rin to feel the way she feels and then he would approach her. Even though he dreaded it, he would talk to Kagome for advice too.
Sesshomaru approaches Inuyasha, "May I speak to your wife, I would like to get some advice regarding Rin".
Inuyasha looks at him and turns to look at his father and Toga nods, "Okay I will get her but don't be hogging my wife all night".
"Rest assure, she is not my main focus".
Inuyasha goes to Kagome and tells her to meet up with Sesshomaru.
Rin is still enjoying Kohaku's company and Kohaku is enjoying it more, Sesshomaru hates it.
Kagome meets Sesshomaru in another room, "I am sure you know the relationship between me and Rin from what you said earlier".
"She just recently told me, what's up bro?"
Sesshomaru rolls his eyes, "I want to understand her, and you are the closest to her, she seems to downplay everything I say to her".
"Rin is very self-conscious, whatever you guys had, she is having a hard time interpreting what that means. She has not been in many relationships, and they did not go well so she is fragile, and she has a hard time trusting. But first clear that shit up with that bitch, she made my cousin upset then maybe you guys can start over and talk. Do not rush it, go ask her out but do not be so up her ass now, let her relax and come to you, that's if she wants to. I will try to bring her over".
Sesshomaru never had to go through so much with a female demon, it was a lot harder with a mate and then it to be a human, they have a lot of emotions. He would listen to his father and what Kagome says and let things flow as they should, at least he hoped.
"I will get Kohaku away from your girl" she laughed.
Kagome pushes Rin to Sesshomaru, Rin trying to resist going to him.
It was awkward and Rin looked at him, she looked lost.
"Rin forgive me for that incident earlier, I want you to know I meant everything I said earlier. I like you and I want to get to know you more if you are willing to give me that chance".
Rin felt that he was being sincere, he got Kagome to bring her to talk to him, that must of took a lot for his pride.
"I like you too Sesshomaru, but am I going to have to deal with stuff like that all the time, old flames just randomly showing up?"
"It was not my intentions for her to show up and unannounced, my focus is not her, it is you".
"If that was the case we should have never been interrupted, or you entertaining any of that stupid conversation".
My dear mate was jealous, I like that, but I do not like her being mad at me, he thinks.
"Can I make it up to you?"
"Maybe "she says sweetly.
Sesshomaru smirks and Rin says, "no smiling".
"I am sorry, you just sound very cute saying that" Sesshomaru was surprised at him saying that.
"How will you make it up to me Sesshomaru?".
I can think of a way, he thought in a naughty way.
"Will you accompany me to dinner, I know you said you would be leaving soon but I would like to spend time with you".
Rin is staring at him, and she gets a flashback of them on the balcony. Sesshomaru is watching her, she does not blink, and she raises an eyebrow and then he gets hit with a hint of arousal. She must be having a flashback, yes Rin I get those a lot, he thought.
Sesshomaru walks up closer to Rin, "Rin".
She shakes her head, "What did you say?"
"I want to spend time with you, will you accompany me to dinner?"
"Yes" she smiles. I want more nights like the one we had, she thought.
"Good, can I accompany you again at the reception or do you want to be around Kohaku?"
"I am fine where I am at, let's just enjoy the evening and celebrate the married couple".
Sesshomaru's yokai was appeased by his mate, how he long to mate with her, very soon.
At the end of the night, Sesshomaru and Rin exchanged phone numbers.
Sesshomaru texts Rin: Be ready by 5pm beautiful, I will come and pick you up.
Rin texts back: I will be waiting handsome!
They both go to bed with smiles on their faces.
Rin thinks to herself, I hope this goes right, I really do like him. He is not like the other ones I have dated, he is really courting me, showing interest especially in such a short time. I do not want to be a fool!
Sesshomaru thinks to himself, Rin I will break that barrier of yours down and then you will truly be mine and you will have everything your heart desires, I plan to spoil you my dear Rin.
Authors Note: I wanted Sesshomaru and Rin to get to know each other and it may take a couple chapters but the explicit material will arise again!
