I noticed Sesshomaru was around when Rin name was mentioned but he did not pay attention to it until he heard Kagome yell it out, if there was any confusion from last chapter.
It seemed as if Sesshomaru and Kagura's relationship was getting back on track, they were not arguing anymore well as much. Sesshomaru never felt the need to be away from Kagura until he enters the dance class. As long as that scent was not near, he could keep his attention on Kagura.
Inuyasha barges in Sesshomaru's home, "Yo Sesshomaru!".
"What are you doing here Inuyasha".
"I got a date with Kagome. I need some brotherly advice".
"Why? You are always good in that department, what is so different about this one?"
"I don't know she kind of moves me in a way I never experienced with others. I want to impress her. The others knew I had money because they were all kind of mutual contacts".
"I see but there isn't really much I could give you, just be Inuyasha. She seems attracted to you as well so don't try to put yourself against a wall trying to impress her".
"Hmmm thanks bro! You are not that bad as people say you are".
Sesshomaru glares at him. "Okay I'm sorry" Inuyasha says.
"By the way, how are you and Kagura?"
Sesshomaru doesn't respond immediately but then says, "There are no complaints yet".
"Sesshomaru we have lived a long time and have seen some things over our lifetime, especially you. You should not waste whatever time you have on others that do not care about your wellbeing. You should find someone that you are interested in, truly. We come from a good-looking gene pool. Go out there and enjoy yourself, don't settle because you are used to her".
"I thought you came over for advice, but it looks like you had a handful to say".
"For some reason, I felt compelled to say something".
"Hmph".
"Alright I am out of here, see you on Wednesday".
Kagura comes walking in scoffing at Inuyasha.
"Hello dear" Kissing Sesshomaru on his cheek.
"Hello Kagura".
"Are you hungry?"
"Not really but you can cook. I will be hungry later".
"Anything in particular?"
"You choose, I am going to my office".
Rin sitting with her laptop catches up on reading her emails. She opens one up from her lawyer that was working on the case for her ex-boyfriend. Her lawyer informs her with the restraining order, her ex Hitan should not come within 50 feet of her. She truly does not feel safe, so she decided to take up some self-defense classes.
She was trying to find one that would accommodate her schedule since she was already taking the dance class.
She finds one that is only one day a week, so that worked out perfectly.
It was time for their next meeting in class and Rin is beyond excited. Sesshomaru looked forward to the class to see what Rin would bring today. Sesshomaru is not too far a distance from Rin, he hears the conversation she has with Kagome and Yuka.
"I know we have busy schedules, so I have not updated you all. I decided to take a self-defense class".
"Has you know who been lurking around?" asks Kagome.
"Not that I have seen but my lawyer contacted me to let me know that the restraining order went through, and he should stay 50 feet away from me".
Sesshomaru becomes concerned, self-dense class? Restraining order? Who would want to harm her, she is so small. Sesshomaru thinks.
"Well, that is good, are you taking the self-defense class for extra protection?"
"Yes, for now and for long term. People tend to pick with me because of the way I speak and because I am short, but I will kick their ass".
Sesshomaru purrs; his eyes widen. Why did he feel so appeased that Rin was confident in beating someone's ass if they tried to harm her?"
He thought it would be best to move away from the conversation, he was getting riled up.
"Good evening and glad to see you all are here. I hope you practiced at home because depending on how it goes tonight, we will put the routine together tonight".
Sesshomaru annoyed yet again that Kagura has not shown up. He needed to keep his mind off of Rin's scent.
What the hell could be keeping her from showing up on time? He thought.
"Alright you guys know the drill, let's start the warmup. Did anyone like what we did last time, maybe will have another Rin takeover".
Everyone looks to Rin, and she blushes. Sesshomaru glances over to her and he felt satisfaction for the attention she was receiving.
The class agreed they should do freestyle, it was fun.
The beat drops and everyone starts dancing, some formed groups to where they were all doing the same dance. Inuyasha joins Kagome and they make up a little dance routine.
Rin and Yuka are dancing making up their own dance routine. Rin looks over to Sesshomaru and he notices him all alone, she wants to go over there so he wouldn't look so lonely. When she felt the push to go, she sees his girlfriend appear beside him.
They wiggle themselves out and separate into groups again to practice. If Miroku and Sango agree they made progress they would perform the dance before them.
The girls seemed to have it pretty much together. Kagura at times would stumble, she would be a part of the weak, as Sesshomaru stated about the ones who did not have the skill.
Sango felt confident enough that the girls had it together. She walks over to the classroom and asks Miroku were the boys ready, and he said yes; it was game time.
"Before we start, there is a prize to whichever group wins and a grand prize for the best dancers from both groups. So do your best!
The groups get into alignment and the music plays. Sango and Miroku yet again look around the classroom watching everyone. They were looking for the most confident two from each group. Kagura and Rin were neck and neck with one another for the girls. Inuyasha and Sesshomaru were the best two from the male group.
Out of nowhere you hear a boom, some stopped in their tracks and looked but Rin wanted to win the grand prize and saw from the mirror whom it was. Kagura falls to the floor, she just could not keep up. Sesshomaru glances over but keeps dancing. Once the others seen the commotion they went back into formation.
Miroku and Sango noticed this and took that into accord. The music finishes and everyone claps.
"Good job everyone, you all did your very best. The winning group would be the boys". Miroku dances because the guys won. The girls were good sports, so they clapped.
"Each of you will receive a $50 dollar gift card".
Everyone claps.
Sango takes over, "Now for the 2 lucky winners. You guys were really showing out and did not let any disturbances get to you. For the girls the winner is Rin!"
Rin jumps up with excitement and Sesshomaru growls very low appeased at her winning and her jumping for joy.
"For the guys, the winner is Sesshomaru!"
Sesshomaru had his rest face on. He did not show any facial expression while everyone was clapping.
"The two winners will receive the new Ipad Air Pro".
The class was amazed they could win such a big prize.
"For those who were not winners we still have something for you all". Miroku brings out gift baskets so everyone would feel appreciated.
"You all did a wonderful job tonight. You should be proud of yourself. Next class we have chosen your new groups and you will do a couple routines together. We do this because it will be easier to see who you should pair up with, who meshes better as dance partners".
Miroku and Sango wave goodbye to the group and everyone gathers their things to go.
Rin saw an opportunity to say something to Sesshomaru while Kagura used the bathroom.
"Hey Sesshomaru, nice dance moves" she smiles at him.
Sesshomaru felt his whole body go up a temperature. Her smile was so beautiful and pure.
"You are not so bad yourself" he replies stoic as ever.
Rin giggles and catches up with her friends.
Kagura returns and sees Rin running up to her friends.
"Are you ready to go? I made a fool of myself, and that bitch took my prize".
"Stop worrying yourself of others Kagura. You have too much energy for things that do not matter".
Sesshomaru was relieved she didn't see Rin talking to him, he would not hear the last of it.
Sesshomaru will keep that smile within his memory and her soft-spoken voice that could tame him noted in his memory.
