Rin invited Kagome over to help her practice her dance for Sesshomaru.
She didn't tell Kagome she actually needed her body so the dance could come to life somewhat. In other words, she would be her dummy, her Sesshomaru.
"Rin, you are kind of turning me on," Kagome laughs.
Rin stops dancing and turns the music off. "That is what I want, well from him anyway. I want him to get so aroused that I won't make it out of the building with him wanting to fuck me up against some wall".
Kagome sits in the chair backwards. "Wow Rin, I don't know if this is pent up sexual tension or what".
Rin takes out another chair and sits with Kagome and rests her arms over the back of the chair. "That is a part of it, and I recognize my feelings now. It just seems like everything with him seems right even when he is being aloof and stoic. It seems he responds to me and that is a good start. I don't want to push anything on him because everyone needs their time to heal. I do want him. I want to show him what made us bond in the first place, dancing. He will know I want him more than he thinks." Rin says.
"Yes, indeed girl, now that Kagura is out of his hair, he can really see what is in front of him," Kagome says excitedly.
"Do you think with the circumstances going on that I would be coming on too strong?" Rin asks.
Kagome shrugs, "It could be looked at that way, but he doesn't know how you feel, and you don't know if he has feelings for you either. Neither one of you has confirmed anything. I wouldn't look at it too hard because it is a dance class at the end of the day. He knows what he signed up for and what the possibilities for what is to come".
Rin nods, "Yeah, you are right".
Rin's phone rings and she gets up to answer it, it was Sesshomaru.
"Speaking of you," she smiles while answering the phone. "Hello Sesshomaru".
Kagome giggles with her hands covering her face.
Rin walks away from Kagome and her snickering. She goes into her bedroom.
"Do you have time to speak?" Sesshomaru asks.
"Yes, what is up?" Rin responds.
"Actually, are you busy? I would like to talk to you in person. I need some advice from my friend".
That burned Rin but she did say they were friends. She just hated being called that.
"Where would you like to meet," Rin asks.
Sesshomaru tells her to meet him at the lounge. Rin says she will need to shower first and then send a text when she is heading over.
Rin hangs up the phone and walks back in the room where Kagome was patiently waiting to know what was said.
Rin sighs, "He called me his friend!"
"Well Rin he doesn't know you want to be more than friends, chill out," Kagome says trying to make her friend feel better. "You are overreacting and being impatient, just let things flow as they are supposed to".
"Yes you are right. He wants to meet at the lounge and get some advice from me".
Kagome stands, "Well I am going to meet Inuyasha anyway. Let me know what happens".
Rin walks Kagome to the door and waves goodbye to her.
Rin showers and takes an uber to meet Sesshomaru.
Sesshomaru was yet again annoyed with himself being absent minded about not picking her up when she doesn't have a car. He walks up to her and apologizes for not picking her up.
She waves him off and walks past him to open the door. He smiles as she walks past him, she smelled so nice. This scent of hers is getting stronger. He wanted to take a lock of her hair and sniff but he would look like a weirdo. He looked down to her derriere and was hypnotized at her cheeks jiggling as she walked.
Did she not realize they did that? That was definitely a calling to him being a dog demon. He would love to have her on all fours. Kagura gave him oral sex months ago and even during that time, he was thinking about Rin. It has been a while since any sexual encounter for him.
They enter inside and Sesshomaru leads Rin to a secluded part of the lounge, where they take their seats.
Rin watches his expression but of course she cannot read what he is thinking. He looked off to the right of him and seemed to be having a deep thought. Rin breaks the silence.
She looks at him with his face still turned. "How are you Sesshomaru? Tell me what is going on".
Sesshomaru finally moves his eyes to Rin's. He breathes out, "I need advice from a friend. I thought you would be perfect for this Sesshomaru's questions".
Rin clasps her hands together, "What are your questions?" Rin would rather be sitting in his lap but she will be patient. Hopefully that day will come.
"The healing stages you spoke about. How long does that usually last for?" he asks.
"It is different for everyone. I would think since you and Kagura have been together for so long that it may take some time," Rin responds.
Sesshomaru stares off again. "This Sesshomaru has been alone for quite some time. Kagura did as she pleased. I can't make a person want to make things better, therefore, I feel my healing has already passed. Perhaps it is just different for demons". Sesshomaru turns to look at Rin and his eyes soften and dims. "She is not my mate. I have come to realize that".
He had that look again. He was looking over her again as if he wanted to devour her. Rin got lost in it. Her throat becomes dry. They were staring at each other, neither one wanting to break the daze.
Rin picks up her drink and swallows. "It is still unfortunate how things happened. You may be right, we humans may take longer to heal from relationships. I know I did".
Sesshomaru suddenly says, "He didn't deserve you, he hurt you," Sesshomaru grabs her hand. Rin looks down at the connection.
She whispers, "I know how to read the flags now, but I am okay now".
"Would you like a drink?" Sesshomaru asks.
"Yes, I will take a mojito if you don't mind," Rin responds.
"I think I will take one too," he smiles. Rin blushes. She is trying to get used to seeing Sesshomaru smile.
Sesshomaru waves the waiter down for their order.
There was a very awkward silence but then the waiter came with their drinks. Rin was thinking about him mentioning a mate. She wondered what that meant.
She takes a sip of her drink. "So," she says, eyeing her drink.
She didn't look up, but she knew she had his attention.
She runs her finger around the rim of her cup. "What did you mean by mate?"
Sesshomaru chuckles, "A human wanting to know about demon mates?"
Rin giggles, "We are friends, mind as well get to know you. You don't have to tell me specifics but how do you know".
Sesshomaru lifts an eyebrow, "Kagura she was a good partner but didn't have the qualifications of a mate for this Sesshomaru. I had an attraction to her, but it is nothing compared to what I feel about a certain individual that I am most certain of is my mate, my lifelong partner".
Rin's eyes widened in surprise and also with disappointment, but she will not let that show. "So, you think you already found your mate?"
"Yes, and I shall have her," he says in a seductive way.
Rin didn't know how to take what he said.
He said I was a friend, not a mate. Stop thinking so hard about this , Rin thought.
"Tell me more, it is interesting," she says finishing her drink.
"I will tell you the rest on the way to take you home," he says standing up.
They walk out the lounge and enter Sesshomaru's vehicle. As he is driving Rin asks, "Do you need my advice on how to approach her?"
"Yes, I will need your assistance".
"Okay, I can help you with that," she replies.
"So how do you think this Sesshomaru should approach her?"
"You should just tell her how you feel, be straight up," Rin says.
Sesshomaru didn't want to reveal anything about his mate, which was Rin.
Since Rin is human, he didn't want to let her in on that information just yet. She would know she is the only human he communicates with.
He was curious though if she would ever consider him, not as a friend but in relationship with him.
"My mate has the perfect scent. I wish to drown myself in it," he says randomly.
Rin felt a little embarrassed, but she also felt he must have felt comfortable enough to tell her about this and she is his friend, right?
"TMI Sesshomaru," she coughs out a giggle.
"Hmph," he replies and shows off his fang while smiling. Rin quickly finds herself jealous of this mate of his.
Rin looked out the window and wondered. "Would your mate be upset about us dancing with one another?"
Sesshomaru glances over at her and then back at the road. He could have sworn he felt sadness coming from her but he didn't think too hard about it.
"I don't know if we share the same emotions towards each other. To ease your mind, I don't feel uncomfortable because you are my friend," he says.
Rin was getting annoyed by the term.
Friend Friend Friend, I hate it and now he is interested in someone that may be his lifelong partner. She thinks.
Sesshomaru had the feeling to comfort her. He felt maybe he was saying too much and making her uncomfortable. He put his hand on her thigh. Rin looked down at his hand and her head rose as he spoke, she looked at him.
"Are you feeling alright?" He asks.
Rin looked back at his hand that was still planted on her thigh. It was so warm. She saw his claws and wondered what that would feel like if he inched up more upon her thigh.
She lets him leave it there and turns back to the window. "I am fine Sesshomaru".
Rin starts again and Sesshomaru has yet to move his hand. She hoped he would move it toward her inner thigh. "You know I have been practicing my dance with Kagome. She is too silly though".
"Is that so?" Sesshomaru removes his hand from her thigh and grips the steering wheel. "Does that mean you will be ready to perform it during the next class?"
Rin was sad again. They were turning on her block. "No, I need more practice". Rin already had the dance down packed but she wasn't going to tell him. She already informed Miroku and Sango she was ready to present it next class. He didn't need to know that, she smiled at that thought.
The car stops, "I will walk you to your door".
Rin looks over at him, "Thanks Sesshomaru".
It was awkward because there was unnecessary tension between the two. They both didn't know what each other was truly thinking. Rin unlocked her door and Sesshomaru was able to smell every part of her within her apartment. He almost found himself walking in with her. She turns to look at him to say goodnight but Sesshomaru speaks first.
With his hands in his pockets, Sesshomaru looks down at Rin. "I will see you in class Rin".
"Yes I will see you then," she closes her door and leans up against it.
All she could think about was who this mate of his was. Her chances of being with him have soured but she wasn't going out without a bang. She would make this dance worth her while and his too.
Sesshomaru gets to his car and looks back and sees Rin has turned a light on. He wondered when it would be the right time to tell her that she was his mate and that has wanted her all this time. Would she accept him?
A/N: I am basically done with this story. I am just finishing up the last chapter which I think will end in a smut.
