Ultimately he wants to roll his eyes; but instead, he reaches for a box of tissues on his side table and hands it to her. Unfortunately, she mistakes his movement in her direction for him reaching for her, and she falls into his arms, for comfort.

In his head he's thinking, fuck. He doesn't want to be an ass, so he allows her to rest her head on his chest; but his arms don't comfort her. His left arm stays on the back of the couch, and his right resides on his own thigh. He's hopeful she gets the message sooner rather than later.

After a few minutes, she finally realizes he's not reacting to her emotional appeal the way she planned. And sits up to wipe her performance tears away. Proving he wasn't falling for her act, in case she wasn't sure yet. He rather dismissively asks, "Are you finished, or are you done?"

She again goes from tearful to angry as she spouts, "Why are you being so damned mean?" He sighs as he replies, "I'm not being mean. I'm just being honest. And I want to be sure you heard me. I'm not helping you fix things with your parents; you're going to have to figure that out for yourself this time."

Irritated, she asks, "Why? Why all of a sudden are you unwilling to help me? Is it because I just want us to be friends now?" Annoyed with her implication he replies, "Did you forget I'm the one who stopped pursuing you, not the other way around. This isn't some revenge play Mel. I don't have anything against you. I'm just not willing to compromise myself for yours or anyone else's benefit anymore. And if you are truly my friend, you won't ask me to do that either. Even if it is for your benefit."

She hears him but takes offense to his response, as she replies, "So now I'm not a friend to you? That's where we are. I'm not a friend because I am asking you to help me by fudging the truth a little. Like I haven't lied for you before?" He drops his head as he says, "Mel, I'm not doing this with you. I said no. And that's all I have to say. So if you don't mind, I need to get ready for tonight. You can see yourself out."

She can't believe his reaction; he is actually kicking her out. And not even remotely responding to her appeal. Knowing there's nothing more she can do; she grabs her purse and storms out as she yells, "Go to hell! Go to Fucking Hell!"

He follows her out and as she reaches the exit, Drew and the gang are coming in. She almost knocks them over as she barrels toward the door. When it slams behind her, they all jump at the loud noise, despite seeing her walk out the door.

Harrison is the first to speak as she says, "Well damn, I guess we know that didn't go as she planned." They all crack a smile as Fitz asks, "What gave it away?"

As they all chuckle at his reply, the mood settles and Drew asks, "Are you okay man?" He nods as he responds, "Yes, I'm good. I feel relieved to be honest. It was good to get it out, you know." They all nod as Stacy says, "I'm sure. I just hope this doesn't ruin the dynamic of the group. This is why romance between friends is a bad idea in most cases."

Fitz objects as he replies, "I would say in some cases it's a bad idea. But not most. And to be more accurate, Mellie and I weren't exactly the quintessential romantic couple." Harrison agreeably adds, "He's right. It was rather one sided for the majority of their courtship." Fitz quips, "I'm not sure you can call what that was a courtship bro. It was more like just a situation that I'm glad to be done with."

Drew replies, "Well nonetheless, this evening is surely going to be a treat." Stacy says, "Oh God. Do you think she'll be there?" Fitz responds, "Knowing her as I do. If she's there, it will only be to cause drama unnecessarily." Harrison agrees as he says, "That sounds like a Mellie move for sure. Remember when she invited Jalen's ex boyfriend to the Frat party, when they fell out?" Drew shakes his head as he replies, "Damn, I forgot about that. That was cold blooded." Fitz agrees as he says, "Yeah it was. If Jalen had gotten her hands on her; that could've ended badly for Mel. I'm almost mad I got her out of there before things got crazy. Clearly she hasn't learned anything from it."

Stacy asks, "Why is she like that?" Everyone looks at Drew, since he's the psyche major. And he outwardly says, "Because she has a false sense of entitlement, and doesn't take kindly to people who put her in her place." Agreeing with his sentiment; Harrison says, "Well, if she keeps it up, she's cruising for a bruising messing with Abby. And it won't be pretty." Fitz replies, "Agreed. I surely hope she remains mindful of that next time they square off." Stacy adds, "I'm sure she will. That's why she ended up over here. She knows she pushed Abby too far, and her response scared her."

Harry says, "Well lets hope it gets settled sooner than later. Roommates disagree. It's more common than people think." They all are in agreement, and Harry says, "Well, I have to jump in the shower peeps. So I will catch yall in a moment."

They all agree its time to get ready for the evening, and Fitz remembers he needs to call Liv back. He heads to his room, and upon closing his door. He sits on his bed and calls Olivia. The phone rings a few times, and then he gets voicemail. He leaves a message, "So we're playing phone tag huh? Give me a call back; you won't believe how my conversation with Mellie ended."

After hanging up, he gets up and starts picking out his outfit for this evening. There's a knock on his door. He yells "Come in." The door opens and in walks Drew. Their eyes meet and he ask, "What's up man?" Drew replies, "I know you said you were good. But, I wanted to check on your Friday date with Liv?" He smiles as he responds, "it was incredible man. She actually didnt leave till just before you all got here."

Drew smiles as he says, "Really? Damn. That was some netflix and chill day." Fitz grins as he replies, "I know right. It was a good time; lots of talking took place along with other antics, and we came to a decision to announce us dating exclusively soon."

He asks, "Wow, that's huge man. How are you feeling about that?" He takes a breath and then says, "I'm good with it. We are simply taking it slow, seeing where its going." Drew then realizes that's why his friend was so calm when dealing with Mellie. And he makes his thoughts known as he says, "So that's why you were so matter of fact with Mel earlier. You've literally already moved on." Fitz nods as he replies, "Yeah. Pretty much. But honestly this isn't about my feelings for Liv. It's about me just being done with accepting Mellie's BS. Or really anyone's BS anymore."

Drew can tell by his demeanor and tone, his friend is resigned to being completely confident in how he feels. He says to him, "I'm proud of you man for going toe to toe with your dad. I know it didn't end the way you wanted it to. But, you got out allot of your frustration, and you finally faced him and told him what was going on with you. So between that, coming clean with Liv about how you feel about her, and checking Mellie. You've had a hell of a 24 hours." He agrees as he says, "Yeah it's been quite the ride, thanks bro. I appreciate the support. But the fun is never ending; i'm still nervous about how this Nyema deal is going to unfold."

Drew sighs as he says, "yeah bro. That is some dateline type shit for real." They chuckle at his comment, knowing that it in fact is definitely one of those ordeals where all you can do is hope and pray, things resolve peacefully. Because it's completely unpredictable.

Fitz follows with, "I truly hope this is resolved as soon as possible dude. I'm chomping at the bit to find out what her issue is. And, why is she fixated on me?" He nods as he says, "That's understandable. It is a bit disturbing, but it sounds like Liv's friend is pretty good. So if there is a reason to worry; he'd let you know."

He agrees as he replies, "True. We'll see how it plays out. Thanks for checking in, man." He smiles as he says, "Of course bro. I had to. I didn't get a chance to find out a whole lot before Harry got home."

He nods as he responds, "Gotcha. Well I'm glad I got you caught up; I'm gonna hop in the shower man; so I'll see you in a minute." He nods as he says, "Good deal bro. See you."
