Mellie and Kaylee are having a blast with their impromptu shopping and spa day. As they now sit at a table in the food court finishing their cinnabon treats; Kaylee says, "Thanks again Mel for the day of relaxation and retail therapy. I really needed this and appreciate it greatly ." She smiles as she replies, "Don't mention it Kaylee. It's my pleasure. I appreciate you spending time with me today. I needed the distraction."

Kaylee inquires, "Really? What's wrong?" Mellie takes a breath and explains that her living situation is becoming bothersome, and dramatic. And, she's tired of being friends to people who don't honor their commitment to their friendship in return. Kaylee hears her frustration and replies, "Wow. That sucks. Maybe you should consider moving out if you feel that way. And while you're at it, get real friends."

Mellie nods as she responds, "That sounds a lot easier said than done. But, you're not wrong. I'm tired of being mistreated and not supported, you know?" She nods as she says, "Yes. I do know. That's why I live alone. Roommates can suck huge monkey balls, at times. They're like houseguests that have long overstayed their welcome." They share a laugh and it makes Mellie feel good to have some peace and be all smiles for the moment.

Her thoughts then become real as she asks, "Do you know why Nick has such an issue with me being at his place when he's not home?" Kaylee pauses and thinks, yeah I do. But she replies, "don't take it personal. He just doesn't like drama. I mean, you're his guest. Not theirs. Besides, think about it. If your roommates' boyfriends were hanging out and they weren't home. Wouldn't you think that was weird?" She thinks for a moment and admits, she's got a point and says, "Fair enough. Maybe i'm over thinking it huh?" She nods as she replies, "Yeah, maybe just a tad."

Glad that's over, Kaylee is grateful she dodged that bullet seamlessly for her cousin, as she thinks he's really trying to mess up a good thing, that's beneficial to more than just him. After she finishes her last bite of her cinnabon, and Mellie takes the last sip of her drink, they prepare to leave; seeing it's almost 6. After throwing away their trash, they head for the door. And a half hour later they're pulling up to Kaylee's apartment.

However, once they're parked. Mellie gets out of her car and sees Kaylee is still in the car, talking on the phone. When she gets out of the car the phone is on speaker. She hears a voice say, "Sounds like fun. I want to go." Kaylee then asks, "Hey Mellie, I'm talking to Heather. She wants to know if she and Cedric can come to your party tonight? If that's okay."

Mellie shrugs her shoulders as she replies, "Sure. That's fine. We won't be there till after 9 though." Heather smiles as she replies, "Thanks Mellie. That's cool. I am going to start getting ready now. And we will meet you all at the house at 9." Both of them say, "Great. See you later."

When the call ends they head into the apartment and prepare to get ready themselves. An hour later, they're ready to roll. But Kaylee realizes she left her shoes over Nicks. She says, "Damn, I need my shoes. They're in my black bag I left over Nick's."

Mellie replies, "Well you can get them when we go over there in a few, no biggie." She nods as she says, "True. But, I need to make sure they're in good condition. I think it was pretty muddy the night I last wore them. And they may need to be cleaned."

She understands her point, but responds, "Well unless someone else is at the house. You won't find out their condition till after Nick gets off." She then claps her hands suddenly, and says, "Not exactly. There's a spare key hidden on the porch. Come on, let's go."

Mellie agreeably gets up and grabs her things, and they head over to Nick's house. But asks, "After all this time, you're just now mentioning the spare key? We could've gotten dressed over there and waited for him to get home." Kaylee agrees, and replies, "Sorry. It slipped my mind." Mellie shakes her head as they make their way to his house.

As they drive, Mellie asks, "Hey what about Alex and Cam? Do you think they'd like to come too?" Kaylee stammers a bit, but eventually replies, "Uh, Yeah. yeah. I guess. But I mean Cam may have to work; so I don't know if Alex would be cool coming without him." She wonders about her stammer, but still understands her point, and says, "I know. But I am going to invite her anyway. It would be rude if I didn't. And I don't want her to think I don't like her, you know?."

She awkwardly nods, but then decides to speak some truth, as she replies, "That's nice of you. But just know that Alex is naturally an because she can be. So don't take her too seriously." Mellie responds, "Good to know. Thanks." She replies, "You're welcome."

Mellie takes note of her advice, knowing that was one of the main things she picked up on when she met her originally. Admittedly, she has felt a coldness between them from day one; but she cannot put her finger on the reason. She then thinks of Nick telling her the tension she speaks about between her and Alex is in her head. So she appreciates Kaylee unwittingly giving her confirmation of there being a notable issue, and she isn't imagining it.

Minutes later they arrive at the house; it's a large Tudor style house. As they pull up in front of the house; they're unable to park in the driveway, because Nick's car is parked. Mellie instantly asks, "What is Nick's car doing here?" Kaylee quickly offers, "Maybe Cam borrowed it. I remember him saying he needed to get some work done to it. And money is tight right now."

She considers her suggestion; it's entirely possible Cam borrowed it. But, she has some suspicion, because Nick didn't mention that to her. Besides, how'd he get the car if Nick drove to work? How would Nick get home? If anything, that would've been even more of a reason for him to want her to pick him up after work.

Her thoughts break as she hears Kaylee ask, "Mellie, are you okay?" She nods as she responds, "Yeah. I'm good. Let's go." When they walk up the driveway they walk by his car, and Mellie touches the hood, it's cool to the touch. Instantly, her suspicions begin to rise. Kaylee sees her, and begins to worry herself, which is why she is eerily quiet, making the situation even more awkward.

Nonetheless, when they step onto the porch; they hear loud music coming from inside. Since someone is home, they bang on the front door first. But, there's no way anyone inside is going to hear them knocking. Mellie asks, "This is pointless. Where's the spare key?"

Kaylee agrees as she replies, "Under the dog statue over there." When she goes to retrieve the key, she moves the statue and says, "It's not here." Kaylee rolls her eyes as she replies, "Damn, someone used it and didn't put it back." She walks over to the statue, and flips it over just to be sure, and sees the space where the key was taped to the bottom.

As she puts it back in its place, Mellie asks, "Now what?" Kaylee sits on the rail of the porch and when she looks toward the back yard. She sees Alex's car parked behind the house. Her heart starts beating fast, and she knows Mellie must not have seen it yet. In her head, she's thinking, this doesn't look good at all.

Before she can think of what to do next; she's ripped from her thoughts as she hears Mellie yelling, and the music stops. She then looks up and Mellie is pounding on the main door, somehow she managed to get the screen door unlocked and open.

Quickly, she joins her, thinking this has to get their attention. However, she goes to the picture window to knock, instead of knocking on the door. When she looks through the window, she sees Alex, run by with nothing but a man's tank top on and socks.. She then spies Nick's work shirt on the couch.

Immediately she feels sick inside, and doesn't know what to do. She hurriedly and secretly messages Nick, telling him they're outside the house right now. And, he needs to get decent, and get his story straight.

Mellie sees her, despite her attempt to be surreptitious, and asks, "What are you doing?" Knowing she's busted, she replies, "I'm calling Nick to see if he knows where the spare key may be." She then sighs as she responds "Good luck. He didn't answer me when I just called him."

All of a sudden, their conversation is interrupted when Alex opens the door saying, "Hey guys. Sorry, I didn't hear you all knocking. I hope you weren't out there long." As she steps back, they enter. And Mellie is gobsmacked by her attire. No bra, with a man's tank top on, and wearing what can only be called, booty shorts. Kaylee wants to scream, what in the entire fuck? But keeps calm as she asks a question she already knows the answer to, "Is Cam here?"

Mellie doesn't hear Kayle, she just feels her blood pressure rising. Clearly, her suspicion level is now on an octave 8, and her patience is at 1. And without any regard to how she sounds, she blurts out, "Where's Nick?" Her tone is so strong and forceful, Alex jumps, as she sputters a bit, saying, "Uhm, Uh, Yeah, he's upstairs."

Angrily, Mellie takes off upstairs, and Kaylee waits till Mellie is up the steps before she asks, "What the hell Alex?" She sighs as she replies, "Don't ask me. Ask him." She shakes her head as she asks, "Can you go clean up the evidence in the living room, and go put on some more clothes. Or at least a bra, and shorts that cover your entire ass?." She looks down and says, "Shit. My bad." Kaylee pinches the bridge of her nose, and takes a breath as she wonders what's happening upstairs right now.

Mellie is on fire as she busts into Nick's room, to find it empty. She then hears a door down the hall open, and he appears in the doorway, with a towel around his waist. He jumps out of surprise, and asks, "Woe. When, when did you get here?"

She smartly replies, "I could ask you the same question." He doesn't like her tone and says, "You need to bring your tone down." She scoffs as she replies, "Stop deflecting, and tell me what is going on Nick?"

He sees she's mad, and decides to take it head on. So he says, "Look, I got off early unexpectedly. So I came home to chill, before we went out tonight." curiously she replies, "Why didn't you let me know you got off early? He sighs as he says, "I know it looks bad Mel. But, I just wanted some me time, that's it."

She hears him, and searches his face for any sign of dishonesty and can't find one. He's now close to her, pulling her toward him as he says, "Come on babe. Don't be mad. I'm sorry. I know I should've told you I got off early." She feels her anger subsiding, as he kisses her neck. But, she tries to remain firm, as she asks, "Fine. You needed some alone time. But can you explain to me why is Alex here; walking around half naked, and Cameron isn't even here?"

Unwilling to entertain her insinuation; he merely shrugs his shoulders as he says, "I don't know. She was here when I came home. I was sitting on the couch and she came out of his room.."

She probes him, "Then what did you do?" He replies, "I came upstairs to my room, because like I said I wanted to chill. After that, she went back to his room I assume, because that's when I started to hear the music playing. And now you're here. Looking hot as hell, and waking up Mr. Happy."

She wants to stay mad at him, but she feels herself giving in. Maybe she is overreacting, she thinks. He only stammered once, while explaining what happened. Is it all in her head? Or is he lying to her?

As her passions roll like the tides of the ocean, she decides to let the worries roll away. And she gives in to the pleasures of the moment, as they embark on a round of make up sex.

As Kaylee and Alex sit in the living room, with Alex fully dressed now. They're wondering about the goings on upstairs. But when they then hear music playing, its a sign that he's managed to smooth things over somehow. She takes a breath, and shakes her head. She doesn't know how her cousin does it, but he's quite the ladies man, for sure.

An hour later, everybody is downstairs talking. And Mellie pulls Alex to the side, to apologize for being rude to her when she arrived. Alex accepts the apology gleefully. Which ironically makes Mellie feel uneasy. But she doesn't know the reason behind it.

Deciding to shirk it off, as it's getting late and she still wants to make her entrance at the party. She offers to help the ladies get ready, and minutes later, Cam comes in along with both Heather and Cedric in tow. Thankful they showed up early, Mellie is elated to know they will be arriving at the party sooner than she originally anticipated and she cannot wait to see the fallout.
