Olivia smiles at him as she replies, "i could get use to this type of shopping." He grins as he pulls her closer and responds, "Well, you can thank me later." And she adds, "Here's a preview of what to expect." They share a kiss and Abby jokingly says, "Eww, come on mom and dad, that's icky." They break their kiss, laughing. while Drew, Stacy and Harry drive by, as Drew blows at them. They wave at them as they pass, and Olivia and Abby get in the car, while Fitz loads the back of the truck.
When they settle in their seats, Olivia wants to ask Abby what's going on? But, she knows Fitz can hear them. So, she shoots her a text that says, "Work? I thought you told them you weren't coming in." She responds via text too, "I'm not going to work. Kevin is coming over so we can talk." She rereads her message twice before responding, "You know Fitz is going to be at the house, right?"
She hears her groan as she responds, "Oh damn, I forgot. What time is he leaving?" She replies "I'm not sure. Maybe later. We plan to watch the game, remember? I recorded it." She sighs as she responds, "Okay. I will tell him we will have to meet somewhere else. Thanks for the heads up. I don't know what I was thinking of inviting him to the house."
They both hear the back of the truck close, and she outwardly says, "You're welcome. Don't sweat it. You've got a lot on your mind." As Abby prepares to respond, Fitz opens his door and gets in, as he asks, "Everything good ladies?" They both reply, "yes." He smiles as he responds, "Good, anywhere else you need to go?" Olivia smiles as she responds, "No. We got everything. But thanks." He grins as he replies, "You're welcome."
Within a few minutes they arrive back at the house, and Fitz manages to bring all of the groceries in, while Olivia and Abby put them away. They're trying to talk as they put away the food, but of course have to be mindful of Fitz coming and going.
Abby stops talking once again, as Fitz puts down the last bag, and he says, "Okay. That's the last of it." As he stands back up, Olivia is waiting for him with a cold glass of lemonade, and a smile. He grins at her as he takes the lemonade and her into his arms, as he says, "Thank you babe."
Her grin matches his as she replies, "You're welcome. Have a will be done soon, and we can relax a bit before we watch the game." He responds, "I can't argue with that plan." They share a kiss, and she responds, "Good, go relax." He sips the lemonade and turns to walk away as he says "Don't have to tell me twice." They all laugh as he makes his way to the couch, and he turns on the television.
Knowing he's now distracted, Olivia turns to Abby as she says, "So what's the plan with Kevin?" Abby shrugs her shoulders as she replies, "We are going to meet up and talk. It's time I got some answers." She nods as she responds, "Agreed. Just stay strong and don't let him off without telling him what's on your mind. A closed mouth doesn't get fed."
She nods as she replies, "I won't. Enough is enough." She likes the tone of her response, and sees the confidence and resolve in her body posture, which tells her she's on a mission and won't be stopped.
As they continue to put away the last items, silence falls upon them for a moment. And when Olivia turns around she hears Abby ask, ":What else did you want to say?" She looks at her with confusion on her face, and Abby tilts her head, giving her a knowing look.
She decides to come out with it; but looks over to make sure Fitz is still engrossed in the television, before she asks, "What's up with you and Harry?" Abby looks up to the right and away, then back at her, and before she can respond, Olivia interjects, "Don't lie. I heard you two together this morning."
Abby doubts her response as she replies, "No you didn't." Olivia grins as she replies, "Well that's not the response of someone who didn't get theirs in and then some, is it?"
Realizing her reply was an admission she shakes her head at herself, as she responds, "Damn it, you tricked me." She chuckles as she replies, "No, you tricked yourself. That's what lying does. Now tell me what's up? How long has this been going on?"
She sighs as she responds, "There's nothing going on. It was just two people relieving some stress." She's not buying her response, so she pushes her as she replies, "Don't make me repeat what I heard; this wasn't your first, and likely not your last time together. Not to mention how cute you two have been to each other all day."
Her words hit home and she decides to come clean. "Okay. We've hooked up before. But it's been a while." She nods as she responds, "You mean like last Christmas?" She smiles as she replies, "Yeah. I can't explain it. But we have unbelievable chemistry in bed." Olivia jokes, "I'll say. God damn, I almost needed a cigarette after what I heard." Abby grins as she responds, "Whatever. Truth is, he brings that out of me. Or maybe we bring it out of each other. I don't know, Anyway. It is what it is."
Understanding her point, she becomes more serious as she asks, "Do you like him beyond sex?" She replies, "Yes. He's cool. We talk about stuff and chill, and it's comfortable, no pressure." She nods as she responds, "I can relate." Abby responds, "I know you can. But I don't know if Harry and I have that same connection as you and Fitz."
She leans back onto the counter as she responds, "You don't know what you have until you give it a real shot. And, lying to him isn't the way to find that out by the way."
She takes a breath, and immediately sighs as she replies, "I know. I feel terrible about doing that to him. But, I couldn't think of what else to say." She crosses her arms as she responds, "How about the truth? You could've told him you were trying to figure some things out with Kevin, and you two needed to talk. If you're keeping things loose between you two, being honest should be easy. And, it's definitely a necessity to prevent anybody from getting hurt." Again, her words have her in thought, and she can't refute them. Instead, she sighs as she replies, "I hate when you call me out. You're way too good at it. And I have no come back."
She smiles as she replies, "Only because you do the same to me. And I hate it just the same. But when you're speaking facts. I can't get mad. I just have to accept it and move on." She nods in agreement as she replies, "Fair enough. This adulting shit is hard." She grins as she replies, "True. But you've got this. I have faith in you. You'll make it right."
She nods as she responds, "Thanks Liv. I appreciate that vote of confidence in me" She smiles as she replies, "You're welcome. Just stating facts though." Abby responds, "I know. But, it's nice to hear." She agrees, it is nice to hear words of encouragement and affirmation. Her thoughts break as she hears her say, "Well, I am going to go get ready for my meet up with Kevin."
She acknowledges her as she replies, "Cool Beans. I hope it goes well." She nods as she responds, "Me too. Oh, and Liv?" She replies, "yeah." She smiles as she responds, "Thanks for not judging me. And keeping me and Harry's escapade private from the group."
She smiles as she replies, "You're welcome. You know this is a non judgement zone. So, you never have to worry about that with me. But, I will say I am not the only one who is aware of you and Harry." Her eyes grow as large as saucers, making Olivia grin in response, as she asks, " else knows?"
She responds, "Stacy told me that she saw you two kissing last night before bed." She sighs as she replies, "Damn it. So that means Drew knows. Did you tell Fitz?"
She shakes her head as she responds, "No. I didn't tell anybody anything. It's not my story to tell. Which is what I told Stacy by the way. So, I'm sure despite her knowing about you two, neither she nor Drew are going to mention it." She agrees, they're not the group of friends to embarrass one another, they respect each other's privacy. Feeling more settled, despite knowing the secret's out. She plainly asks, "Why aren't you mad at me for not telling you about Harry?" She responds, "Because I figured you'd tell me when you were ready. So, I didn't have a reason to be upset."
Appreciating her friend even more she says, "You are amazing Liv. I don't know what I did to deserve you as a friend. But, I am grateful I did it." She smiles at her as she replies, "Awe, I'm grateful to. Because the feeling is mutual hon. You're a great friend to me, and together we keep each other straight. That's what besties are for." She nods as she says, "Agreed." They share a hug to seal the moment, and when it ends, Olivia says, "Now, go set your friend straight." She grins as she replies, "Consider it handled." They share a laugh as Abby walks out of the kitchen, passing Fitz as he makes his way back to the kitchen to get more lemonade.
As he walks into the kitchen he asks, "Everything good between you two?" She smiles in return as he approaches her, stopping just in front of her as she responds, "Yeah. it's all good. Just some girl talk. I see you're back for a refill." He smiles as he replies, "Yes. A refill of kisses and lemonade too please." She smiles as she says, "Coming right up." She grabs the pitcher out of the fridge, and pours him some lemonade.
When she turns to face him he's looking at his phone and he asks, "Did you want some food while we watch the game? I could go for a corned beef sandwich from Lucky's." She ponders for a moment and then replies, "Yeah, I could go for a reuben with fries." He nods as he says, "Good choice. I'll place the order for a half hour from now. Is that good?" She places the lemonade on the counter as she turns to put her soda in the freezer, as she says, "Yeah that's fine. It'll give me time to make sure my Pepsi is cold before it arrives."
With her back turned to him, he sees his favorite part of her exposed. He puts down his phone as he walks up behind her, once she's closed the freezer door. And he swats her on the ass. She jumps and giggles and he laughs in return too, at her response. She turns into his arms and they laugh together and share kisses that begin to heat up quickly. However, just as the temperature begins to rise, they hear footsteps coming up the stairs.
And they attempt to get decent before she reaches the kitchen, but it's too late. And the look on her face confirms it as she says, "Yall know that kitchen sex is off limits when you have roommates, right?" Olivia quickly replies, "Girl bye. That's why God made clorox, to sanitize surfaces." They all chuckle as she says, "I can't with you girl. I'll see you two later." They both wave at her as they say, "Bye."
When the door closes, he looks at her as he says, "She's in good spirits." She replies, "Yep. i told you just girl talk. Nothing too heavy." He nods as he says, "So, are we going to talk about her and Harry?" She almost falls over as she asks, "How'd you know about them?" He grins as he responds, "Harry told me of course. Well, he didn't mean to do it. But, it slipped out while we were shopping."
She nods as she says, "Makes sense. I found out this morning when I went to get their orders for breakfast. I basically heard them in the act." He laughs as he responds, "Damn, for real?" She laughs as she replies, "Yes. talk about awkward. I couldn't get away fast enough for my liking." He shakes his head as he says, "I hope they figure it out. He said it's complicated. I'm not sure how. But, hey. It's not my circus, not my monkey. I just told him it's only as complicated as they both make it."
She nods as she replies, "Good point. I basically told her the same thing. They have some talking to do if they're going to figure out what they/re doing. And I don't know if either of them are ready for that, because that makes it real." He agrees, and responds, "True. I know talking helped us quite a bit." She replies, "Yes. it did. But that's because we were both ready to do it. They will be too at some point, but until then, I agree we should let them figure out how it plays out." He pulls her close and they share a kiss that deepens within seconds.
