Fitz and Liv are lying in bed sleeping. It was the perfect night. Fitz is awake, just listening to the quietness of the room and his beautiful wife finally sleeping through the night. The windows are open and he can hear the waves lapping against the sand. He's holding the love of his life in his arms, feeling her heart beat against his chest as he strokes her bare back. She is everything he ever dreamed of. Their life is everything he ever dreamed of. He can't imagine his life without this amazing woman in it. He looks over at his phone and sees he has a missed called from UCLA Medical Center. His phone is on vibrate and he remembers Liv's phone is downstairs. He takes a deep breath, knowing that this call could change their lives. He drifts off to the day, 4 weeks ago, when she made the discovery.
Flashback:
Liv is in the bathroom. She's taking a shower. They are getting dressed to go out an industry party for the CAA. She's repped by them. A lot of Hollywood are repped by them. She had a dressed made specifically for the event. She's not wearing a bra with this dress. It's strapless and sexy, perfect for the night. And truth be told, she picked that one because she wanted her husband to steal kisses on more than her lips. She loves when he nibbles her shoulders and neck. This dress is perfect for that kind of body worshipping.
She gets the dress on, to the waist. She's making sure her breasts are all ready for the corset part of the dress is ready to so Fitz can zip her up. It's then that she notices it. Maybe it's nothing. She rubs that area of her breast again. It's slightly hard. It feels like a bump or knot. Maybe it's nothing. She stops and stares in the mirror a minute, looking at her bare breast. She tries to shake off the immediate fear that envelopes her. She finishes putting on her dress, deciding to check again when she gets undressed when they come home. She finishes getting dressed and they go to the party and have an amazing time, dancing the night away.
Later on that evening:
They go in and say goodnight to their little minions. The boys are fast asleep in their room. The girls are doing what they do best, faking asleep because they've really been reading their books. They love that the girls love to read until the wee hours but then they are little monsters in the morning. Liv goes in first. She checks them.
"Put those books away little ladies," Liv says with a laugh.
"Mom," Christina says first.
"No Mom..just yes ma'm is good," Liv responds.
"But we are almost finished," Ellie says.
Fitz is outside listening. He loves these moments with his girls.
"30 more minutes and then in your beds and sleep. I'll be back in 30 minutes," Liv warns.
In unison, they answers, "Yes mom!"
"I love you very much," Liv adds.
"Love you," Ellie says.
"I love you too mom," Christina adds.
Liv backs right into Fitz, not knowing he's there. "Can daddy get an I love you?"
"Love you daddy," Christina responds.
"To the moon," Ellie says.
The girls start to giggle as they get on the floor between their beds to finish their book. Fitz puts his arms around Liv as they watch their girls for a minute.
"We've done a lot of wonderful things together but these amazing children are probably the best thing," Fitz says, nuzzling her neck.
"I can't believe we made them," Liv says as they watch them turn the pages of their Harry Potter book.
"Me either but damn it was fun making them," Fitz whispers in her ear as he bites her earlobe.
Liv giggles, "Fitzzzz."
The girls turn around to them, saying, "Shhhhhhh!"
"Sorry," Liv says.
"Sorry," Fitz laughs as he steps back, still holding on to Liv's waist.
"30 Minutes," Liv says outside of their door.
They hear them groan as they go towards their room. Fitz closes the door, making sure it is locked. "I plan to get lucky tonight and I don't want the boys cock blocking."
Liv throws her head back laughing, "This is why we got a Cal King bed because we never know when they'll sneak in."
"Well not tonight. I've been wanting to rip that dress off of you all night and kiss you all over," Fitz says as he goes toward her.
Liv doesn't even realize she is backing away. Fitz notices it, "I had a great time tonight. Did you have fun?"
"Of course! I had the most beautiful woman in the world eyeing me all night. I just knew she wanted me," Fitz teases.
"You knew it huh," Liv says.
"Hell yes! Did you see Kerry Washington? I swear she wanted to buy me a drink," Fitz teases.
Liv walks over to him shaking her head. "You are so full of your beautiful self. Well since you are so wanted, why don't you call her and see if you two can set something up?"
"Depends," Fitz winks.
"On," Liv rolls her eyes.
"What happens tonight?" He says going for her waist again. He wants to unzip that dress. Fitz can see she's jumpy and something is on her mind. "Livvie, what's wrong?"
"What? Nothing, nothing! Nothing is wrong," Liv says going towards their walk in closet. She realizes she was short with him. She stops mid-step. Without turning around, she says, "I'm sorry."
"I know you Mrs. Grant. Something is wrong. What's wrong?" He asks again as he pulls her arm softly.
She takes a breath, turning around to face him, "When I was getting dressed for the party, I felt something."
Fitz can see the worry on her face and now its worrying him. "What do you mean you felt something? I don't understand."
"I felt something," she repeats.
Fitz walks closer to her, "You are going to have to give me more than that Liv. What do you mean?"
"In my breast. I felt something in my breast," she closes her eyes.
"Like what?" He says loudly, taking a minute to calm himself. He knows this is the last thing she needs. She needs him to be calm so that she can be calm. At this moment, there are tears in her eyes. He can see she wants to let the dam break. "Let me feel it."
She tilts her head, "What?"
"What did it feel like? Let me see what it feels like."
"You don't want to," Liv shakes her head. But in this moment, she's never loved him more than she loves him right now. How did this man come into her life like he did?
"Yes I do. So we can tell the doctor, who we are calling in the morning, first thing."
Liv shakes her head, now letting the tears fall, "This could ruin it for you."
"Ruin what?" Fitz says as he's now holding her shoulders, making her face him.
"It might make you look at me differently sexually. Or you'll want find me sexy any more if you have to feel what could be cancer in a part of me that is such a big part of my sexuality. A big part of your attraction to me," Liv explains. The sadness in her eyes and the tremble in her lips is more than he can take.
He reaches down and kisses her. He has to stop all these thoughts in her head, "While I do love these two ladies," he says, pointing at her breasts. "That is not why I find you to be the sexiest woman in the world. You have a mind that some women would kill for. I love watching you think. I love watching you create. I love watching you be you. Your body being the sexiest body I've ever seen only adds to your whole package. I am attracted to how you are as my wife. I am attracted to the kind of mother you are. And just when I thought I couldn't be attracted to you more, you helped take care of my mother as if she were your own. The beauty that is you, is what I am attracted to. Not just your body and don't you ever forget that."
She drops her head in embarrassment that she underestimates this beautiful man sometimes. "I love the way you love me," she smiles.
"Why did you tell me when you first felt it?" He asks.
"We were going to the party and I thought if I came home and maybe I wouldn't feel something and it wasn't there anymore. I was freaked out but I didn't want to freak you out."
"I know how serious this could be and I can't tell you to freak out because I know its scary but we are in it together, no matter what it is. Do you remember that promise we made to each other?"
"Of course I do," Liv smiles.
"So…." Fitz says and stares at her.
She knows what he means, "Would you unzip me?"
He turns her around and unzips her, letting the dress fall to the floor. He kisses her softly on the shoulder, whispering, "Turn around." She turns around in just her matching lace underwear, "Which one?" He says delicately.
"The right," she says softly.
"Where?" he further questions.
She points at the right breast, "Here." Fitz starts to feel. Liv can't help but let the tears fall. Through her tears, she can't help but be in awe at the man before her. He loved her enough to do this for her. She closes her eyes, "Around there," she says as his fingertips seem to graze the area.
Fitz finally feels what she feels, "Right there," he says.
In a long breath she answers, "Yes, right there."
"It almost feels like a pebble," Fitz says, looking up at her. "Did you feel other areas?"
"I did. I don't know how well," Liv answers. Fitz doesn't even ask any more questions, he just starts to feel all over. All she can think of in this moment is what could be happening. What could happen?"
"I don't feel anything else but first thing tomorrow, we call and try to see the doctor," Fitz says. Liv agrees.
Liv unconsciously just covers her breasts with her hands, "Fitz if…."
Fitz stops her, immediately, "We aren't going to think anything like that until we know what it is." He takes her in his arms, "Let's take a shower and go to bed so I can hold you all night."
"You promise," she asks softly.
"You'll have to pry me away," Fitz says.
They go and take a shower. He washes her body while stealing kisses on her wet skin. He knows the thoughts in her head are running the gambit of emotions. He's determined to let her know that he is going to be there no matter what. No matter what happens, he's going to be right there. He knows she needs that reassurance right now more than ever and he's going to give her whatever she needs. Eventhough they don't get much sleep that night. Most of the night was spent in silence, just listening to each other breathe. The other half was them just thinking out loud to each other. When Fitz finally drifts off to sleep, Liv lays holding him by the waist realizing that this is the true definition of love and one day she is going to let someone know what that is and what that feels like.
Present:
Fitz now lay, holding his wife in his arms, thinking the exact same thing Liv thought about him, this is what love truly feels like. He's been on auto pilot for the last couple weeks since they found the pebble in her breast. He's been so focused on keeping her comforted and distracted, as much as he could. And they've been trying to keep the kids from finding out that something was going up. They didn't want to upset the kids, in case this all turns out to be nothing. He's been the Superman so far but even Superman can break down sometimes and for the first time, he was letting himself feel that weight. He slowly starts to move.
"Where are you going?" LIv asks as she turns in the bed, still asleep but aware of him moving.
"Get a drink of water, I'll be right back. You go back to sleep, sleeping beauty," he says as he reaches over kissing her cheek.
Liv is half way back to LaLa land, "Hurry back, I'm cold," she whispers. He can't help but chuckle. She's always told him that he was her favorite blanket. He's just glad she's able to sleep. That's something she hasn't be able to do.
He goes back on the patio and gets Liv's phone. He's holding his phone and hers. He sees that the hospital called her phone as well. He also sees that Abby has called both their phones too. He wants to listen and then he doesn't. What if it is exactly what they don't want to hear? He's finally being able to be honest with himself, in these quiet moments, about what he's feeling. He suddenly filled with this rush of emotion. He sits at the kitchen island in the kitchen he dials a number.
"Fitz," the booming voice of Gerry said.
"Pop, can you talk a minute. Don't let the kids know I'm on the phone," Fitz says.
"The kids are asleep. We gave them too much sugar. Is everything okay?" Gerry asks, now with concern. "Did the hospital call?"
"They called and left a message but I haven't listened. Liv's asleep. She's finally got some sleep on this little getaway. I rather just hear whatever it is, in the morning," Fitz says but Gerry can hear the sadness in his voice.
"Son, what's on your mind?" Gerry says.
"Nothing," Fitz lies. "Just thought I would call and check on you and mom and the kids," Fitzfinishes.
Bibi can see the worried look on Gerry's face, "Who's that?" she whispers.
"Fitz, you didn't call me for nothing. What's going on?"
Fitz sits back in his chair, "What was it like for you when mom got sick?"
Gerry sits back in his chair just like Fitz. Fitz is just like his father, "You mean what was it like caring for a sick spouse or what it is was like.."
"What was it like going through it?" Fitz clarifies.
"I lost your mom once and that was because I was an asshole and I was given another chance with her when I really shouldn't have and I wasn't going to mess that up. So, I didn't care how sick your mom was going to be, I was going to be here," Fitz starts.
Fitz shakes his head. He can't argue with anything his father said because Gerry in his eyes was, one lucky bastard when it came to second chances. "I don't know if I can watch it," Fitz utters.
"What do you mean?" Gerry says.
"If it's the worse case scenario. It would kill me to watch her sick, possibly dying. I can't watch it. I'd rather die," Fitz says.
"Son, it's normal for you to feel this way but you are strong. You always have been. When we lost Christopher, you were there for your mom. You were the support when I know a part of her heart died. A part of mine died. I think that's why I got worse because I know it was partly my fault," Gerry admits.
Fitz, for a long time blamed his dad for Chris' death but they all knew he wasn't all to blame. Chris never should have gotten drunk like he did and got behind that wheel. "Chris got drunk Pop, because of you, yes, but he never should have gotten behind that wheel. It's easy to blame someone but he got behind that wheel."
"But you stepped up and took care of this family when I couldn't," Gerry says.
"What does that have to do with anything?" Fitz says.
"You are going to do the same for your wife and your kids. You are going to take care of your family. Love is going to allow you to do that.. Love is going to push you to do that. And those beautiful children are going to push you to do that," Gerry explains.
Bibi watches as the scene she thought she would never have seen is sitting before her. Her husband, being the husband she always wanted him to be. He's being the father he should have always been when he needed to most. Their son needs him and he's there. She decides to leave them to finish their talk man to man. She kisses him on the side of the cheek and leaves.
"I can't live without her. I can't breathe without her Pop. I live for her and my kids," Fitz says. He feels like he could go on and on. He's been holding this in for so long, he realizes. "Why would this happen to her? God can't take her from me?"
"Fitz…., listen to me. No matter what you find out, it's going to be okay. You are going to fight this head on. You are going to tackle this head on. And we are going to to be right there with you. We will find the best doctors, if that's what she needs. Money is no object. You know that," Gerry says.
Fitz laughs, "Liv says everything can't be fixed with money."
Gerry laughs himself, "Yes, she's right but we will use it if we have to."
"My life started with Liv. My true happiness started with Liv. And then she carried my children. She has been the greatest gift. I can truly say she made my life better than I ever could have imagined. It makes me sad that Victoria didn't get the best of me when she was growing up because I didn't feel the best of me with her mother. I feel like I short changed her. I sometimes wonder if she recognizes me with Liv, this is the me I like."
"Victoria worships the ground you walk on. She hates how strict you are with the men of her life but she knows that's out of love. And as far as Mellie goes, Victoria unfortunately witnessed how out of sync your marriage was. But you all did right by her as parents, even if you couldn't show her a couple in love," Gerry assures him.
"I just don't want to fail my family," Fitz says.
"I'm sorry son," Gerry says.
"Sorry for what?" Fitz asks.
"For what I did with Mellie. That's a line I never should have crossed. There are so many lines I never should have crossed. I am sorry that I wasn't what you needed me to be for so many years. Maybe you never would have walked into that relationship with Mellie. I knew you didn't love her. I'm sorry for not showing you the best me for so long. But you turned out better for it, I think. Much better than me and I am proud of you and all you've accomplished," Gerry says.
Fitz doesn't know that Liv has been listening. She wipes the tear that has fallen from her eyes and steps back a bit, and calls out his name, "Fitz…"
"Pop, I better go, Liv is awake. I am sure she's missing her blanket," he laughs as Liv comes into view.
"Bye dad," Liv says.
"Tell her I said to sleep well beautiful," Gerry says.
"Pop said sleep well beautiful," Fitz repeats.
"Remember what I said son," Gerry says.
"I will, thanks dad!" Fitz says, hanging up.
Liv goes over to him. She doesn't want him to know that she was eavesdropping. She brings her arms around their neck, kissing his cheek, "I was shivering," she says.
"I'm sorry! I called to check on the kids," Fitz covers.
"They are in their happy place, being spoiled by their grandparents," Liv says as she realizes her phone is on the island. She goes to reach for it. Fitz stops her.
"There's a miss call from the hospital," Fitz says."They called my phone too," Fitz admits.
Liv is immediately frozen in fear, "What did they say?"
"I didn't listen. I didn't want to do it without you."
"We are in this together right," Liv says.
"We are always in this together," Fitz says as he kisses her.
"We can't put it off. We have to know what is happening no matter what," Liv resolves.
Fitz shakes his head in agreement. They open her phone and take a moment to hold each other. They know once they listen to this voicemail they'll either be happy or they'll have to figure out what to do next.
3 Years Later:
Liv and Fitz are walking down the carpet into the HBO Party on Emmy night. Everyone is clamoring to get photos of Olivia and her extremely sexy husband, not to mention the golden beauties in her hand. If someone would have told Olivia she would be here 3 years later, she wouldn't believe it. Amazing that this all started with her getting dressed for a party and now she is at another party, 3 years later, having accepted two awards for her production and direction of her docuseries, Hidden Pebbles. Fitz has never been more proud of his wife. He stands there beaming as she is being interviewed on the carpet. This is her well-deserved moment and he wants her to soak it all in.
Entertainment Tonight stops her for an interview. She likes them. They've always been so fair, even with the daytime show. She never feels like they are intruding on anything. Bibi's journalist friend from Hawaii who Liv and Fitz met while they were there years ago and a few times after is now a correspondent for them. She did a great piece on Liv when the show rocketed into stardom.
Annie: Olivia, congratulations. What a big night this has been for you?
Liv: Thank you so much Annie. I think I am still in a little disbelief about it all.
Annie: You shouldn't be. It really was a beautiful series that had it all. Joy, pain, triumph, just everything that comes with the subject.
Fitz cuts in: She's amazing.
Liv can't help but gush as Annie laughs
Annie: America if you don't know who this handsome man is with Olivia, this is her husband Fitzgerald Grant. Probably her biggest fan.
Fitz: Without a doubt. She's my hero.
Liv shakes her head wanting to cry, right there on the spot.
Annie: Did he catch you off guard?
Liv: He always does. (Liv looks at him with the most love.)
Annie: Let's talk about Hidden Pebbles for a moment. This was so raw and so intimate. We know in the series you say you had personal experience. Can you talk a little bit about it now?
Liv looks at Fitz. He squeezes her hand, letting her know if she wants to talk about it. He will be right here.
Liv: Well Annie I was getting ready for an industry party a couple years ago and found a pebble-like lump. It was scary. We waited for it to be tested and it was benign thank goodness but just the whole experience of waiting and being scared and fearing for my family, especially him, (Liv looks at Fitz with a smile that he returns) And fearing for our kids who are 13 and 10 now. Being afraid that I would leave them. No one knows that feeling unless they've been through it and I wanted to explore the sides of it with women and men experiencing it from beginning to end.
Annie is solemn.
Annie: I am so glad you got a good diagnosis. Thank you for sharing with us.
Liv smiles.
Annie: What's next for you? You and your producing partner Abby Whelan have found a niche here in Hollywood.
Liv: For now I am going to enjoy my family. It was hard doing this series and the show at the same time and having crews all over but my Stepdaughter worked with me and found a career that she loves in it. And now she's getting married. (Fitz groans which makes them laugh.)
Annie: What's that groan?
Fitz: My baby is getting married. It's making me feel like an old man. It's a good thing I like the guy.
Liv: We love the guy (Liv slaps his chest.) So we are going to plan this wedding and go all out and spend some much needed time together.
Annie: Well we can't wait to see what you do next. Thanks for stopping for us.
Liv: Thanks so much Annie!
They walk away and Fitz stops and says, "I meant what I said, I'm your biggest fan. When we get home, would you mind giving me an autograph?"
"Depends on what kind of autograph you want. I could write my name all over you with my tongue," Liv suggests with a wink.
"Well damn! Can we go home now?"
"No, you horny old man. We have to go schmooze and booze it and then I'll take you home and teach you how to spell," she chuckles.
Fitz looks around, grabbing a not so hidden pinch of her bottom, which makes her squeal and make a few eyes look at them. She's immediately embarrassed, "I am pretty sure that was caught on camera."
"You are shameless," Liv giggles as they go into the party.
Annie, who's looking on, captivated by them, says, "I would love a series on their love story someday."
It's the next morning and Maya is sitting at Liv and Fitz's breakfast table.. Her and Levi came in to attend the awards and support their girl. Maya has been reading the morning reports of the award show and the buzz about Olivia and her husband has been the talk of the morning. She's just watched Olivia's interview with Entertainment Tonight and she's never been more proud of her daughter. She thinks back to that dreadful day when Liv called her, scared out of her mind.
"Liv is that you," Maya says.
Liv is barely above a whisper. "I am sorry to call you so early."
"You know I wake up with the chickens. I've been up plus Levi is gonna want his lumberjack breakfast this morning. He still has that weekend breakfast ritual," Maya says.
"I thought the doctor told him he needed to lay off the bacon for a while," Liv says, with concern.
"He did but you know your Stepfather. He's hard headed."
"Mom you shouldn't fix it," Liv says.
"I get low sodium bacon and he's getting egg whites now. I am working on him," Maya says.
"Okay," Liv says and then the phone goes silent again.
"Livvie, what's going on?"
"Nothing is going on," Liv lies.
"Olivia Carolyn Pope, I didn't carry you for 9 months and then raise you until you left home to not know you. What's going on?"
"I found a lump," Liv cracks.
Maya has just cracked an egg. She realizes what Liv said. "What did you say?"
"I found a lump," Liv repeats.
Maya sits down at her island in the kitchen, "When?"
"Last week," she answered.
"Have you called the doctor?" Maya asks.
"Yes I did. Fitz and I went to see her. They are going to take it for testing next week," she answers.
"So you don't know anything yet," Maya says shakily.
"I...just...I wanted you to know," Liv says.
"I'll fly out there next week," Maya says quickly.
"No Mama! You don't have to fly out here. Not right now. We don't know anything. I don't want you to fly out here for nothing," Liv says.
"I don't think my daughter needing me is for nothing," Maya says defensively.
Liv is trying to hold her emotions, "I've been thinking a lot about dad."
"He'd be right there holding you tight if he could," Maya says.
Liv wipes her tears, "Yes he would be. I am just so scared. If it's serious. I have four children. My babies need me. And Fitz….I know he's being strong for me and he's trying to be so optimistic but.."
"Stop," Maya says. "Stop right there."
"But these are things I might have to think about."
"Until you do and if you do, you focus on being in the moment. You have a beautiful family. You are an amazing mother. I envy that in you," Maya says.
"Mom, you are a wonderful mother."
"I wasn't so much when I left but I've finally forgiven myself for that and I'm more than grateful that you forgave me but I am proud of the mother and wife you are. The same way you've walked through those roles so beautifully, you'll do the same no matter what. We won't cry tears until we know we have a reason to cry and even then, you can only cry so long before you decide to fight your battles," Maya finishes.
"Thanks Mom!" Liv smiles. Fitz is listening as Liv talks to her mom.
"As far as Fitz goes. He's strong. He loves you more than he loves himself I think. He's going to be there every step of the way. No matter what and you know that," Maya says.
"I know. It's just Fitz is the best part of me and I'm the best part of him," she lets out a small laugh, "So he says." She shakes her head, taking a breath, "I just don't want him to worry about me."
"Says the woman who is more worried about him right now," Maya makes her realize.
Liv can't help but chuckle, "Love makes you crazy doesn't it?"
"It sure does and I won't fly there until you have the results. How is that?" Maya compromises.
"Okay! Fitz is taking me away for our anniversary. I know he's trying to distract me but I'll gladly take it right now."
"How long?" Maya asks.
"Just a long weekend," Liv answers.
"That's good. I think it is a good idea. You've been married 10 years with 4 beautiful babies. You deserve a little time away,"
Liv looks at a photo of her and Fitz that is in their large walk in closet, "I'm so happy Mom. I never thought I could be this happy. I dreamed of a husband and few kids and white picket fence but I never dreamed of this. I never dreamed of this kind of joy."
"Hearing my daughter is happy in her life makes me happy in mine and you are going to be around to enjoy that and I'm going to watch," Maya says.
"I love you mommy," Liv says. They both smile. Liv hasn't called her mommy in years.
"I love you too SnoBall," Maya smiles as they hang up.
Maya comes out of the memory to hear her name being repeated by Liv. "Mom, what are you doing up?"
"Oh, I was just thinking about you and Fitz and you winning all these awards," Maya says.
"I can't believe it," Liv smiles.
"I can. You've always been smart. You've always been creative and you have a guy who's not afraid to pinch your ass on national television."
Coming into the kitchen, Fitz says, "It didn't make the entertainment outlets did it?"
"It most certainly did," Maya laughs.
"You are so embarrassing," Liv says.
"I can't help it that my wife is the sexiest woman in the world. I just had to let everyone know it," Fitz says, giving her a kiss. "Good morning baby." He looks over at Maya who is beaming for them, "And her mother is the second most beautiful woman in the world."
"Good morning!" Liv says kissing him back.
Fitz walks over to Maya, kissing her on the cheek, "Good morning mom!"
"Good boy," Maya laughs.
"I better get breakfast going, those sleepy heads will be coming down those stairs any minute," Liv says.
"I'll get breakfast going. I just made a fresh pot of coffee. You and Fitz have some coffee and see what America thinks of the two of you. Think you are the cutest thing since sliced bread," Maya says as she gets up.
"We are pretty cute," Fitz says.
"I think we are," Liv laughs.
Liv picks up the invitation on the table, "I am not looking forward to this weekend."
"You and Mellie get along great now," Fitz says.
"Yes, we do but she resents how much input Victoria wants me to have in this wedding. I think she thinks I am trying to take over."
"Well you aren't. Don't let Mellie get to you. You know how she is," Fitz says.
"I know. That's why I told Victoria that her mother has to go with her to pick her dress. I won't do that. Just for her mother's sake," Liv explains.
"I think that's a fair thing to do, Liv," Maya adds.
"Thank you for putting up with my ex-wife as much as you do," Fitz says.
"I have an ulterior motive. I know that means I can have whatever I want when I do. I play on that guilt of yours," Liv winks.
"And what do you want exactly?"
"Livvie do not blackmail my son in law," Maya says.
"I want you to be calm, cool, and collected when Victoria gets here," Liv says.
"Why am I being calm, cool, and collected?" Fitz says.
"Victoria has something to tell you and I want you to have an open mind about it. You have to."
"I am not going to promise that," Fitz squints.
Fitz is about to say something when the security office calls. Liv answers, "Yes! You can let her through."
"Livvie who is that," Maya asks.
"It's Mellie! Mellie's here," Liv says.
"Why?" Fitz asks.
"I don't know," LIv says as the kids come whizzing down the stairs. "No running."
"Walk," Fitz says.
"Good morning babies," Liv says. As her little tribe gives her a kiss before going to their daddy.
"Does grandma get a kiss and a hug?" Maya asks.
They run over grabbing her for a hug. Teddy asks, " Grandma, can I have 100 pancakes."
"You can have a stack of pancakes but not 100," Maya laughs.
"He's so greedy," Christina rolls her eyes.
"I'm not greedy," Teddy rolls his eyes back.
"Grandma, can I have cereal instead," Ellie asks.
"Maya, I'll help with the troops," Fitz says getting up.
Tommy is following behind Liv, "Mommy where are you going?"
"Victoria's mom is here. I am letting her in. Mommy's not leaving," she tells Tommy.
"You promise," He asks.
"I promise," Liv answers as she opens the door to see Mellie standing there. "Hey Mellie! We didn't expect you in town until this weekend."
Mellie doesn't even say hello, she zips past Liv and Tommy, "When were you going to tell me?"
Liv looks at her, "Tell you what."
"I suppose I should say everything since you know more about my daughter than I do."
Liv shakes her head, "Mellie, what are you talking about?"
"That my daughter is having a shotgun wedding."
Fitz walks in right as Mellie says this. He looks at Liv upon hearing this news.
Hurricane Mellie is back.
There's two more chapters to this story. Thanks everyone for going on this journey with Olitz. It's been fun
