"Sue will be here any minute, Seth's bringing her. and Sam and his pack are on their way". Jacob told the room. He walked in and stood by Edward and Bella. The first thing he and Seth had done after leaving the Cullen's was going straight to the elders and telling them of the she wolf's departure. They picked up both Quil and Embry on the way. luckily for the two boys, the other two boys were on patrol. Instantly all information was passed on to them, catching them up at once. Both Quil and Embry rushed in their direction, both asking a hundred questions at the same time.
"but she was so sick?".
"was she getting better?".
"What did the doctor say?".
"do we have a plan?".
"how'd she get away without anyone knowing?".
"she could barely stand, how did she make it out of the house?".
"out of the house? how'd she make it to the sofa without face planting in to the floor?".
"We thought she'd lose all strength in her legs altogether".
"who's gonna be second in command now?".
"When is she getting back?".
"is she coming back at all?".
"Does Sam know?".
"How did he take it?".
"do you think we can find her?".
"do you think the Cullen's would find her?".
"do you think we could change her mind?".
"or someone could change her mind?".
"like your mother?".
"or even Billy?".
"she really throws up all over Paul?".
Once Seth and Jacob explained what they could as best they could, by the time they were been the small group of four had made it to the elders.
To say they weren't happy was an understatement.
Having one of their protectors just up and leave without so much as a warning left them feeling quite uneasy. They worried that if one had done it others may get the same idea.
After telling them the plan the elders agreed that they'd leave it up to Jacob and the Cullen's to figure out what happened and sent them on their way.
Next was Billy.
Flash back.
both boys burst in to Jacob's house just in time to see Billy wheeling his way over to them in a hurry.
"Jacob where have you been? what happened to my house?". The older man frowned. after Seth had called his alfa earlier Jacob hadn't taken the news of his beta doing the bolt so well.
Within only a few moments he had managed to break the kitchen table, right down the middle. Flip the sofa over completely, scattering all of the couch cushions all throughout the room. Shattered a few family photos that hung on the walls. Jacob's sister's wedding day portrait, along with some child pictures like Jacob and Billy playing catch. And one with Charlie and Billy sitting out side on a sunning day, having a BBQ. If you were to look closely at the photo could you see a much younger Jacob and Bella playing mud pies in the background? Then one with the twins wearing matching dresses at a party when they were little kids. The rest of the pictures thankfully remained unharmed by the wolf outburst. Then there were the chairs Jacob had thrown around the room. But thankfully that was when Bella rang him and he decided to call off his stroll along the war path.
"look dad…. it was either I only destroy the inside of our home in my human form. Or I phase, turn in to a big animal and destroy the outside of it to".
"But why did you have to destroy my home?... and why did you at all. what happened?". He cried.
"Leah's gone".
Billy started at his son for a fall minute before going white. "what do you mean gone?. Is she alright. tell me she's alright, tell me that girl is alive!". 'I don't understand how this could have happened. I promised that's girl's father that I'd look out for her and now she's gone. The older man began to get become frantic.
"no, dad calm down she's fine, well we don't she if she's fine she's…".
"what do you mean you don't know if she fine's or not?".
"because she just took off….".
The younger wolf cut his alfa off. "we're worried because she's sick. She was really bad for a while here and now she somewhere all on her own, and I'm not there to help her". Seth looked down to the floor, whipping at his face. Jacob throw his arm over his shoulder and began to rub him, trying to comfort his friend. Jacob looked back up to his father.
"we're already gone to the Cullen's. we're getting everybody together to go over there and make a plan. I'll see if Emily can come over here and clean all this up for you and I'll make it up to her later".
"who cares about the state of the house, we can take care of him later. Go find my best friend's daughter". He began to push his son out of the door forcefully.
End of flash back.
"I hear a car pulling up". Alice said leaning in to her husband.
"that must be Sue and Seth". Jacob nodded.
"I'll go let them in". within a flash, Esme was downstairs.
"How did Sam take it?". Roselia inquire.
"not well". The alfa wolf raised his eyebrows and shook his head. "it's best we don't talk about it, he'll be here soon anyway".
Sue, Esme, and Seth entered the room. Bella went up and hugged Sue. "I'm so sorry". He said quietly.
"thank you, Bella". Sue in return. The older women looked like a mess. She's only just stopped crying just before Seth and herself left Charlie's house. Just moments after she had found out about her daughters leaving she'd gone straight to Charlie's home in tears.
"Should we start or should we wait for Sam and his pack?". Jacob scratched the back of his head.
"no need there thirty seconds away". Edward said, able to read their minds.
"What happens if…".
"Rose shut up". the mind reader cut his sister off. knowing what she was about to say.
The beautiful blond scrolled at him. "what…. I was going to say was". she looked at him smugly. "what if somebody said something one wants to hear, or admit and tensions rise". She held her hand up to look at her shiny gold nails.
"like what Blondie?". Jacob closed his eyes and said through his teeth.
"JACOB!... CARLISLE!?". Sam's voice rang out throughout the house.
"Roselia keep quiet". Esme looked at her daughter with a warning look. telling her not to say anything that would get anybody hit under the collar.
The blond shrugged and went to expecting at finger nails, without a care in the world.
"up here dude". Emmet yelled back. the all could hear multiple pairs of feet hurry up the stairs.
Jasper leaned in closer to his brother "dude?".
The big vampire chuckled and shrugged.
Sam and his pack enter the living room, their leader looked frazzled. "what do we know?". he said as if he were exhausted.
"my family and myself searched the whole of the forest for hours, I'm sorry but we couldn't pick up any sign of her". the doctor looked down sadly.
"and of what we could find was days old". Jasper said.
"We did find anything in town through". Bella stepped for and spoke. "me, Edward and Rose went to in town, Edward looked in to the mind of a shop keeper. Edward saw Leah go in to get a couple of things. Then saw her get in to a car. There was somebody driving it but he couldn't see who".
"so she isn't alone". Alice spoke.
"What did she get?". Emmet asked tapping his chin. They all looked at him. "what did she buy at the shop?".
"what does that have to do with anything?". Embry frowned.
"why is that your question?. Did you not just hear her say there was someone else in the car with Leah?". Quil shared Embry's frown.
"I was just wondering is all". Emmet pouted. "I thought it could help". He whispered to Jasper who elbowed him slightly.
"only some banana, earplugs, a sleep mask, and a bunch of magazines". Edward responded to his brother's question.
"actually knowing what she brought could help us". Carlisle nodded to himself.
"how?". A confused Paul scratched his head.
"because it tells us that she may have gone on a long trip. Probably a plan by the sounds of it". the doctor looked over to Sue. "Sue… was there anywhere Leah ever wanted to go?. Somewhere where she had always wanted to visit?. France, London, Ireland, Finland even?".
"I'm not sure". she whipped another tear drop from her eye. "Paris is out of the question". Through her sad exterior, the older woman was able to smile. "she said it looked like a shit hole".
"Yeah, that sounds a lot like Lee, Lee". Sam looked down and smiled.
"don't you call her that". Seth glared dagger at the older boy. "you know she wouldn't want you to call her the nick name you come up with before you left her".
Jacob could see where this was going already. "Embry, Quil take Seth out of the font now. you need to cool down". The alpha wolf said as gently as he could to the younger one. both boys tried to walk Seth out of the house before he stopped. "you and your pack of dickheads did this". He hilled.
"Seth….". Sam breathed in as deep as he could. not wanting to lose his temper in front of Sue Clearwater and the Cullen's. "I'm sure whatever the reason why she left….. wasn't only because of me".
"ya know what… your right". the younger wolf then turned his anger towards Paul. "if you weren't so nasty to her all the damn time she wouldn't have felt so unwanted".
"Seth please…". Carlisle tried to be the mediator but Seth continued to unleash his fury on his ex-pack mate.
"if it weren't for you and your nattiness and your need to make her feel terrible for no reason, no reason at all she would still be here where I could take care of her. you drove her away you fucking pig…".
Jacob and heard enough, the last thing he needed was a fight to break out right smack in the middle of the Cullen's family room. "Embry, Quil now". they both grabbed him and rushed him from the room. Seth's glare never broke from Paul's face. Sue brushed her son's arm as he was led from the living room.
Jacob shoots the doctor an apologetic look.
Carlisle waved it off.
"any way you could get the scent of the person who was with her?". Jared asked.
Edwards shook his head. "there were too many scents in the area, we have no way to pinpoint watch one would have been theirs".
"do you think it's someone we might know?". Sam's eyes moved to Jacob than to the doctor.
"I don't see why it wouldn't be, I haven't seen anybody in her mind while in our wolf forms". Jacob crossed his arms, then looked up as if he had just remembered something. "she's been shielding her thoughts from us for a while now. I couldn't tell at first then after a while I realized she was holding something back".
"like what?". Bella bit her lip.
"that's the thing I have no idea". He throws his hand up in the air in frustration.
"could she have imprinted and her and the guy….. or girl have run off". Roselia said sounding uninterested in the whole thing. The Icey blond was currently looking in to a mirror fixing up her hair.
"no, take it from someone who's imprinted, she wouldn't have been able to hide that". Jacob said glancing at the Uley pack. They all nodded in agreement. "she'd have no reason to leave if she imprinted anyway".
"not even if it was on another girl?". Roselia turned with a sly smirked and raised one perfect eye brow.
"not even if it was on another girl". The alpha wolf repeated. "come on why would that even be an issue?. We couldn't care either way".
"the figure I saw in the shop keeps mind looked masculine". The mind reader spoke. "but I have no way of really knowing whether or not they were male or female".
"did the shopkeeper at least see which way they drove off in?". Sam asked looking at Edward.
The mind reader sadly shook his head. "unfortunately no, just as Leah had shut the door he and turned his head back on to the game he had been watching".
"Which game was was he watching?".
"Emmet that isn't helping". Alice shushed her bury brother.
"it could tell us what time she was in the store".
"that's not a bad idea". Carlisle rubbed at his chin.
Emmet looked down and Alice and stuck his tongue out mockingly. She gave him a dirty look in return.
"it could tell us how long of a head start she has". The blond doctor looked at Jacob than at Sue.
"or..". Roselia was looking back in to the mirror, applying more lipstick.
Edward shut his eye knowing what was coming. "Roselia don't". he warned but she didn't listen, she never listened to her brother.
"or maybe she doesn't want to be found".
"Roselia now is not the time". Carlisle wanted to calm the incoming situation before the storm hit. But unfortunately without any luck.
"maybe she was sick because she was always getting treated like..". she snorted. "dog crap. And decided to live her own life away from all you mutts".
"Roselia… that enough". Esme snapped.
"and how would you know anything about the way she was treated blondie". Jacob sneered at her. "you're probably happy she's gone, just so there's not another shifter you have to feel threatened by".
"happy she's gone, one less mutt….. pretty much yes. feel threatened by…. No, no, no". she waged her finger in front of him.
"Roselia…". Esme walked over to her. "please go in to the kitchen until this meeting is over". 'sue doesn't have to hear what Rose thinks about her child. Her attitude is always so unneeded when it comes to Leah Clearwater. The motherly vampire thought sadly about her daughter. While trying not to steal a chance over at Sue. 'I'll have to have a talk with her later about this. She gave Rose a pointed stare telling her to be better to listen.
"really you mean it I can leave?". Roselia said caustically. She huffed and turned to leave. "isn't like I don't have my own stuff to do anyway". Right as she got to the hallway she looked back at her husband. Emmet immediately went over to his wife and followed her. giving Esme and Carlisle a sheepish look.
"I'll feel them in later on what to plan to do". Carlisle told the wolfs hoping that what his daughter had just said hadn't caused too much damage.
"I agreed with her". Paul said for the first time since Seth left.
"you agreed that you treated like shit? good". Jacob snapped at him. For a split second, it almost looked like Paul felt guilty. But if he had he'd hidden it pretty well.
"All I think is…".
"what you think doesn't matter right now Paul". Sam snapped at his pack mate. nudging him a little bit hoping he wouldn't have to use his alpha voice on him to shut him up.
"I think let the bitc….". Paul's eye flickered over to Sue. Who was visibly shaking with anger at the wolf? Esme noticed too and immediately went over to her to comfort her. "all I'm saying is, if Leah wants to go have herself a little pity party abroad why not let her?. we all know she's just doing this all for attention anyway. She knew that if she left the Res everybody would go crazy about her leaving. She knew this would just cause drama, it's all she ever does. it's just like with her being sick, Lee's only trying to get attention, and probably from Sam".
"Paul…. If you don't keep your mouth shut I will alpha order you to get a needle and thread and sew your lips together". Sam threatened him. Paul back downed immediately, knowing Sam would go through with his threat.
"I need some air". Sue all of a sudden left the room to go outside.
"good going Paul". The black packs Alpha wanted to punch him.
"that was hardly necessarily". Edward shook his head.
"it's true". He argued.
"you didn't see her we did, she was sick". Jacob crawled at Paul.
"sick of being treated like crap!". Roselia called out from the kitchen.
They all ignored her.
Esme was just thankful that Sue didn't have supernatural hearing like the rest of the.
"Paul I saw Leah…. as a doctor. that young lady wasn't well. She was wasn't even able to sit through me examining her. she kept needing to get up to be sick. Not to mention all of her dizziness. I believed she would have passed out in the middle of doing my cheek up. there was something wrong with that girl". He said firmly.
"she looked fine at the bon fire". he spat.
"oh come off of it we both know that isn't true. I was there remember, she puked all over you".
"she did that on purpose".
"yeah and you wanna know how she was able to throw up on purpose?... because she was sick".
"everybody enough". Esme bellowed. "we're not here to fight each other, we're here to find Leah and bring her home".
"then you're doing it on your own". Paul turned away to leave. "we're better off without her". he said without turning back.
"no one minds him, he's just sore because what Seth said about him was true. He's embarrassed because he feels guilty so he's lashing out". Sam tried to defend his pack mate.
"I don't care if he feels guilty or not. The next time he's speaks like that about my beta I'll kill him".
"and your sister?". Bella reminded her friend about Paul's imprint.
"as I said….. I'll kill him".
"enough of this, my wife is right". spoke Carlisle. "we're not here to fight. We're here to help Leah. I'm worried for her safety. I don't believe she's well enough to be on her own. I say if she wants to have her own life let her". this time the doctor looked straight at Jacob. "but if she wants to own life she deserves to live it".
"Carlisle… what are you saying?". Alice asked in a worried voice.
He looked down sadly. "I'm saying she wasn't in good shape. I'm scared for her wellbeing, and I'm worried for her life".
"I'm going to the airport". Jacob tried to leave the room but Edward was in front of him in a flash.
"don't be reckless Jacob". He warned.
"I will take every plan, I will go to every country, every continent, every state, every village until I find her scent. Then I will tack her down".
"and Nessie?... my daughter your imprint. Would are you gonna tell her?".
Jacob went stiff as a plank of wood.
Remember his little imprint.
"do you remember when Bella demanded you stay away from her you said you couldn't?. you wouldn't be able to go through with this….. even if you wanted to. I'm sorry".
"but we can". Alice piped up. "we have friends all around the world. many of which had met her, they'd know her just by smell alone".
"We can't ask them to put their lives on hold to try and find a wolf. many of them would turn as down". Carlisle said.
"We don't have to ask them to put their lives on hold. We only ask them to keep an eye out for her". the seer suggested.
"The Denali's would help us if we asked them". Edward told them.
"how do we know it wouldn't get back to the Volturi?". Bella ran her finger through her long dark hair and thought only of her daughter.
"We tell them all to keep it hush, hush".
"if they hear about this you just know Aro will send Demetri after her". Bella continued.
"if so then we can take care of Demetri". Edward put in.
"we're not killing Demetri". Carlisle gave his son a disappointed look. "if we were to kill somebody in the high guard Aro will rain hell fire upon us".
"would we ask Alistair to try and track her?". Esme walked over to stand next to her husband.
A ghost of a smile appeared on the doctor's face. "I have an inkling that he may be dodging my calls". 'I have a feeling that my buying him that iPhone may have been a waste of money. He thought.
"then keep calling until he answers, At some point, he'd get fed up and eventually pick up the phone". said the shield.
"it would more than likely just be to tell me to stop annoying him". he mused.
"then it's settled. Make the calls and get the plane tickets". Jacob turned to Sam. you and your pack stay here and protect the Rez".
"no, I'm coming with you".
"Sam we both know that isn't the best idea. You have Emily here you should stay with her and stay here for Sue. She'd need people right now. plus we couldn't leave the Rez unprotected. Not to mention you may not be the person she'd want to see right now". he thought back to what Seth had said about Sam being one of the reasons for Leah wanting to leave.
"maybe not…. But when I talked to her at that bon fire I didn't see any hate in her eyes. It was like looking back at the old Leah. the Leah I cared about, the girl I truly didn't mean to hurt".
"why don't you stay here and if we need reinforcements we'll send you for". the doctor said.
"you'll call us like a dog at dinner time". Jared said under his breath.
"Jared….. not the time". Jacob warned.
"I'm sorry I hadn't meant it like that".
"don't apologize doc, he knows you didn't mean in that way". Jacob threw a glare Jared's way.
"Ness will stay with me and Edward, I don't want her away from us". Bella held Edwards's hand.
"then I'll go with you guys then".
"Carlisle and I will go to England and try to find Alistair". The doctor nodded to his wife.
"we'll sort out where the rest of us will go after we've called everybody else". The doctor held his hands together.
"I'll go outside and find Sue. Let her know about what we've agreed upon". Esme left the house.
"Would she want to come". Jasper who had been quiet for most of the conversation spoke. "seems only right a mother would want to find her offspring".
"I think it's better if she stays here with the Uley pack".
"I'm coming". The older woman entered the room, followed closely by Esme. "she's my baby girl".
"then we will not deny you of bringing her home". Carlisle nodded.
Jacob stepped ford. "then come on everybody…. We have a lot of work to do".
Ireland Leah and Demetri.
"they're looking for us". the pair had been sitting at a little café a block away from their hotel room. "I can feel them".
"what?". Leah looked up from her cheesecake, she hadn't been listening to the vampire talk, being too busy stuffing her face.
"nothing don't worry about it". he decided it was best to not worry her.
"okay". she shrugged, continuing to eat.
He snorted at her.
"how's our little bean doing today?".
"I can feel it moving around inside of me". she cracked a small grin. In the middle of the night, a small but noticeable baby bumped and begun to form.
It was the first time she was able to feel the movement of the tiny creature inside of her.
The two of them hadn't talked about the moment they had, had a few nights earlier.
They had now been away from La Push for three days. Ad the tracker would be lying if he said he hadn't enjoyed every moment of being with the she wolf. He had never met a woman like her. she talked back and had the nerve. She wasn't afraid to speak her mind, and she always stood up for herself.
Though he had met women like that before, none were as alluring as Leah.
Heidi was a close match to the she wolf but there stood one difference. The beautiful vampire could be silenced by her masters.
Leah had no masters.
She'd never let another soul silence her.
"Adaline if a girl".
"that's pretty". Leah gave him a small smile. "and if a boy".
"Atticus". He said without missing a beat.
"why Atticus?".
"because I like it…. it's that simple".
"and if there's more than one in my belly?". she cheekily grinned.
"Ohh don't make me think about that". he plunked his face in to his hands.
She laughed.
Leah had been the happiest she has ever been just in the last few days than she had in years. She wasn't sure if it was the joy of knowing she could conceive. Or getting away from the smell of shapeshifter. Which after some time to think about it, Leah had decided that the reason she couldn't stand to be around her pack or the Uley pack was because of the half-vampire inside of her.
"but getting away from that place that had shone her so much misery was the best thing she had done in years.
And she didn't want to admit it, but she was glad that if she had to be stuck with any leech in the world it was Demetri.
He made her smile and made her laugh.
Leah wasn't sure if it was the baby making her all sentimental. Or simply just that she felt happy in his presents.
But she was very happy that he was the father of her child

Hello all.
Just wants to say that if any of you read my He who haunts the attic story that a couple of the text messages are a little out of order. I hadn't realized that until afterward.
I hope you all liked this chapter, I know that there's wasn't a lot of Leah and Demetri in this one but in the next one, there will be more of them.
I'm also thinking of merging this story in with my The Killer I Fell In Love With story. If anyone is interested in reading that one please go over to it and leave a comment telling me what you think.
