Chapter 7
Issei Searches for more answers
It is 1:30 in the afternoon, and Freddy's is still open, filled with customers who came to see Freddy's pals, and eat pizza while watching them; the perfect way of keeping people distracted while Issei tries to find a way into a room he's never seen, but knew exists: Henry's office.
On the way there, Issei asks Ddraig, "Hey, um, are you sure this is necessary?"
"Yes, I am." Ddraig replies, "Remember, this is just in case there's something of importance that I can't find anything on record."
"If you say so, let's just hope I don't get caught."
Issei walks up to the building from an alleyway that's off to the side, and out of sight, then asks Ddraig, "Alright, how do we get in?"
"Look to the top of that wall." Ddraig replies, "There's a window leading into our destination."
Issei sees the window, and after looking around to make sure to see that nobody sees him, jumps up to it, and proceeds to open it. Almost immediately, Issei is surprised at the fact that the window is unlocked; it's almost as if someone wanted him to find whatever Henry's hiding in his office. But, Issei doesn't give it a second thought, and then climbs in.
On the surface, the room seems like your typical boss' office, with the black office chair, a desk that's covered in so much paperwork that a black laptop can barely be seen poking out, and several pictures on both the desk, and the walls.
However, there was one picture on the wall that did catch Issei's attention: It was a framed story from an American newspaper, with a picture of a younger Henry, standing aside another man, shaking hands with him in front of one of the American locations for Freddy's, as they both smile into the camera. Another interesting thing about this picture was the headline, which was titled 'NEW CHILDREN'S RESTURANT CHAIN HITS THE BIG LEAGUES'.
"So, apparently Mr. Cawthon had a business partner." Said Ddraig.
"Yeah, but why haven't we've heard anything about him?" Issei replied.
"I'm sensing a safe bellow the desk, we might get our answers there."
Issei moves in front of the safe bellow the desk, sees the dial of the front, and says through gritted teeth, "Damnit! Of course stuff like this would be password-protected."
"No worries, partner. Just hold your left hand in front of the dial."
Issei does as Ddraig says, and wavey beams of light leave the green light on his hand, then go into the door, easily cracking the code, and opening the safe.
"No way! I didn't know you could do that!" Issei said ecstatically.
"Well, now you do. Now, let's see what Mr. Cawthon has been keeping." Replies Ddraig.
Inside the safe, the first thing he finds is a casefile from 1983. Issei flips it open, and sees that the file is for – go figure – the missing children's incident.
Issei then continues reading, and says, "Hey, we've got ourselves a suspect for the murder of those kids."
"Really? And who might it be?"
"It's Henry's partner, and Freddy's co-founder. Apparently his name was 'William Afton', and according to this, after he was accused of the murder, he was released because no bodies were found, and next thing you know, he just up and vanished, with nobody having heard from him since."
Issei then looked at the place where it should reveal the name of the accuser, and the name was censored out with a black pen.
"Well, this is indeed very curious." Ddraig says
Issei continues to look through the files, and finds one from earlier that year, and finds the name 'Fredbear's Family Diner', there was also the logo in the file. Then, Ddraig says, "That name! Fredbear's Family Diner! While doing my own research, I found that Freddy's had a sister location by the same name that closed earlier the same year the children went missing."
"Hm, interesting." Issei says before turning the page, " I wonder why they clo-"
Before Issei could continue his sentence, he found a picture of something so gruesome, he hasn't seen anything nearly as awful since the first time he ever laid eyes on a stay demon: The picture was of a Fredbear, with a bunch of blood painting his animatronic mouth, and if you'd look closer at the mouth, you could see the body of a decapitated human child, sticking out of the huge, red, mouth.
Issei, while absolutely disgusted by this horrifying image, but still trying to be quiet, said to himself, "Holy sh*t!"
Ddraig shushes, and says, "Careful You might attract attention!"
"Alright, sorry."
Not much else of importance could be found in the safe, and so, Issei and Ddraig left out the window, and went back home, wondering what all this could mean. Why did William go missing? What was that picture taken at Fredbear's of? What can these new discoveries reveal about the spiritual auras the animatronics possess? All these question, as of this moment, are occupying Issei's head, taunting him with their hard-to-find answers.
