Hello.
I'm personally glad to be getting back into this one. Thanks go to Matty G91 for commissioning this. Watching the anime got me thinking of many ideas and discussing with Matty has helped me to develop my own twists on the story.
I was going to make this longer, but decided to cut it short for a couple of reasons. But the next chapter will be much better I can promise you that.
I do not own Ikkitousen/Battle Vixen or High School DXD.

Chapter 2: Encounter
Ryofu would not normally be in the Nanyo area. Less to do with the fact that she was from a rival school and more because of the distance. However, she just needed to get away from her own school for the moment. Frankly, Rakuyo High was far from the friendliest place. It was nothing more than a den of snakes and weakling suck-ups. It was as if Toutaku preferred unquestionable loyalty through fear over the quality of his fighters, which was probably the case. Hell, their quality as human beings was questionable. The only decent person there was Chinkyuu, and that was probably because of Ryofu herself. So, time away from that barely tolerable cesspool was always good. And this trip would let her check on Saji.
Which was its own bag of problems. Her relationship with the man was troubling, and it had nothing to do with distance. Did she love him? She was certain she did some time ago. But now? Honestly, she wasn't so sure. He'd become so obsessed with escaping the fate associated with his true identity, that he was hurting more and more people to do it. People who deserved better, like Ryomou Shimei.
Just thinking about the eye patch wearing blue haired girl made Ryofu sigh. She could understand and sympathize with her. Being a strong female fighter made emotions difficult enough. Being the reincarnation/namesake of an ancient Chinese warrior made things more complicated. So it made sense for a vulnerable girl like her to start having feelings for Saji. At least she wasn't lovestruck, more like confused. But still just as dangerous. Which is probably what Saji planned on. He would definitely consider an emotionally confused girl an asset, if not advantage in a fight.
These were the thoughts that ran through Ryofu's head as she got on the train and rode it all the way to Nanyo, not paying attention to the looks she got. She knew those looks. Disgust from conservative prudes, envy from jealous bitches, and excitement both open and discrete from those who desired her body, male and female. She was free to choose how she dressed, and this is what she went with. It allowed maximum flexibility and freedom necessary for her fighting style. Of course, with such a thin risqué outfit like this, slip ups and clothes tearing in certain places were bound to happen. And Ryofu was counting on it. She couldn't keep track of the number of fights made easier because the opponent that got distracted from just a bit more skin exposure, or even getting just a glimpse of her panties from her flips and kicks. Which is why she didn't even feel the looks she was getting. As far as she was concerned, there was nothing on the train worth her attention. Only certain gazes would make her alert.
Which is why she was confused and concerned when she someone's gaze triggered her senses, but it didn't feel dangerous. There was definitely lust and attraction, but with some curiosity mixed into it. But even so, it should not have even registered to her senses. Something like this would normally be nonthreatening, even now she felt no danger coming from this person's gaze. Which made Ryofu wonder who the source was.
It didn't take long to determine who it was, and Ryofu would admit she was a bit disappointed, and confused. It was just some normal looking boy. Kind of cute, she would admit, but not one that would stand out. No noticeable muscles or anything like that. Not even his hair was that strange. It had a unique shape, but no crazy color or anything that made it stick out, not that she had any right to talk. It didn't seem like he was dangerous enough for her to notice. She did consider the possibility of him being a spy or assassin sent by some other school or faction, but those seemed unlikely. A spy would never let themselves by detected and any assassin arrogant or stupid enough to be noticed would have a certain level of danger of killing intent.
Just pondering this curiosity was getting nowhere. Of course, Ryofu could have just ignored the boy. As fat as she could tell, he was just another horny male enjoying the goods on display. But she chose not to leave things like that. Instead, she started to approach him, making the boy lower his head in realization. She didn't even try to trick herself into thinking it was a way to kill boredom, flashing him would have been easier and more hilarious. However, even as she got closer and closer, she couldn't quite put a finger on why he grabbed her attention this much. It was something completely unexpected. Something that seemed to exist outside the web of fate that trapped her and the other fighters.
And honestly, that excited Ryofu.
When right in front of the boy, she stopped and faced, or rather looked down at him as he was sitting on the train bench. She knew he could see her feet and could tell he was nervous. Maybe there was something more to him if he realized she was a threat. Still, she would rather not have any more enemies, so she chose to break the ice herself.
"You know, if I didn't want guys looking at me, do you really think I would dress like this?" She teased, making the boy look up into her eye. Now that she had a good look at him, Ryofu realized he was closer to her age than she thought. Maybe a year or 2 younger. On top of that, the honesty in his eyes was unexpected. It wasn't the sort of honesty that kept someone from lying, but something else. Definitely not from here, but she would have to probe a bit to get real information
"You look new to these parts." She smirked. "And from the looks of it, you're not just passing by." It took a moment for the boy to respond, and she could tell that he was getting a real good look at her body before speaking up. She had to respect him for still admiring her body while still clearly frightened by her.
"Yeah." He said in a nice voice "I'm going to be attending Nanyo for my first year. Long story short, I'm gonna have my own place instead while I'm there."
"Interesting," Ryofu replied, mulling over this information. Most kids who went to these Kanto schools were familiar with the culture of fighters. Though there were some who were outside for whatever reason would find themselves back here with their sacred beads. It was rare for someone to willingly come all the way just to attend one of these schools, and they were usually normal kids. Why would one grab her attention this much when school hasn't even started yet. Realizing that he was still paying attention to her, Ryofu continued the conversations.
"I go to a different school, but I know Nanyo pretty well and I'm in the area a lot." Her lips formed a sexy grin. "Which means we might see a lot more of each other." Considering his expressions, the boy clearly found that to be very appealing. In fact, it seemed to inspire him a bit.
"Then maybe we should properly introduce ourselves." He said with confidence that wasn't there before. Extending his hand, he smiled up at her. "I'm Issei Hyoudou."
Ryofu was genuinely surprised. Most people didn't try to shake her hand at all. It had honestly been so long she couldn't remember the last time she shook hands with someone. Did Saji ever shake her hand? She quickly recovered with an amused grin and took his hand.
"Ryofu Hosen. I look forward to getting to know you better, Issei Hyoudou."
With a single handshake, Ryofu Hosen unknowingly altered the course of her own life, but many others.
Okay.
I hope you enjoyed this.
