I think I might be the very person to write a Crossover for The Aristocats and All Dogs Go To Heaven. Both of these films have been on my mind lately, and with Halloween coming up, a story involving the Boogeydog against the cats was just too good to pass up. So, please enjoy this story and have a happy Halloween, and if you don't celebrate or acknowledge that day, then have a blessed All Saints Day, or La Toussaint.
The Aristocats vs The Boogeydog
A Parody of Beelzeboss (The Final Showdown) (Clean Version) from Tenacious D: The Pick of Destiny
The mansion of Madame Bonfamile was most certainly the most marvelous home to the cats of Paris, alley cat or aristocat. However, on this particular night, it wasn't exactly the most ideal place for what the cats had planned. For it was October 31st, the night before La Toussaint. On the blessed day of November 1st, all of France would remember not only the Saints of the past, but their own loved ones who had passed on to Heaven. Everyone would make beautiful bouquets of chrysanthemums and place them on the graves of the dear departed.
This first day of November was all about the hope, release, and peace that came with the inevitability of death. However, no one could entirely get past the fear and darkness tied to the act of dying. Therefore, the night before La Toussaint was a much more darker and spooky affair. With the concept of death came thoughts of ghosts, ghouls, spirits, and other such hobgoblins. This was no end of fun for the children of France, as ghost stories, creepy costumes, and treats abounded. Even some older folks couldn't help but join in on this little bit of tongue in cheek fun.
And so, the night of October 31st was night of much fright themed partying, and not just by the humans of France. That is why the cats that lived in the mansion had snuck out to a more fitting setting for their spooky celebration: Thomas O'Malley's old pad.
Miraculously, the old abandoned penthouse still lay abandoned after the cats had left it behind, and was still as run down as ever. That's not to say it wasn't a very comfortable and homey place for any cat. Regardless, the setting was perfect for an All Hallow's Eve party.
Scat Cat and his Alley Cat band were in their element as the played their instruments to some spooky yet still swinging tunes, and Thomas O'Malley and his wife Duchess danced into the night, unable to get enough of the band's music. Their children; Marie, Toulouse, and Berlioz; were enjoying themselves as well as they partook in the standard traditions for this night. When they weren't dancing to the music, they were either enjoying some of the treats of fish that Thomas and Scat Cat had gathered for them, or shivering excitedly at a spooky story told to them by the Siamese cat Shun Gon.
". . .so better mind manners, little kittens. . ." Shun Gon said with a grin to the three children, who were listening intently to his latest story. He then raised his forelegs high and shouted, "OR BELLADONNA THE BOOGEYDOG WILL GETS YA!"
Marie squeaked with fright, her fur standing on end as she leaned in close to Berlioz.
Berlioz had let out a gasp of fright as well, but quickly recovered and slid away from his sister. "Hmph! Only a sissy would be afraid of some Boogeydog."
Toulouse was the least affected of all. He stood up straight as he said rougeously, "I'm not afraid of no Boogeydog! I'm a tough alley cat! I'm so brave, I don't even believe in her! Hiss-hiss-spit!"
Shun Gon put on a seriously face and waved a claw at the kittens, "Now, now. Boogeydog or not, you best behave yourselves. And don't go saying her name three times to a mirror like little kitten in Shun Gon's story." He then promptly lost the battle and allowed his face to smile as he let out a chuckle. "Well, go on and get ready for some dancing. Billy Boss is giving me that looks that sees he's itchin' to pluck those strings some more!"
Shun Gon turned to take his place back at the piano, while the kittens turned around to join their parents. Duchess was seated next to the harp, an instrument that she had taken to rather quickly, and Thomas lying close to her. The pair were talking some grownup talk that didn't concern the kittens, not that they cared, as it was time for some musical fun. However, Shun Gon's latest story was still on their minds.
Berlioz nudged his brother and said, "You're not a brave as you say you are. I bet if you met the Boogeydog, you'd cry and run away."
"Would not!" Toulouse argued, "I'd scratch her right on the nose and laugh."
Marie looked at her brothers nervously and said, "But she's not even real. . .right?"
Toulouse rolled his eyes and said, "Of course she's not. But if she was, I wouldn't be afraid!"
Berlioz just smiled and rolled his eyes, "Suuuure, you wouldn't."
Toulouse pouted at his brother's lack of faith in him, and the desire to prove his own bravery rose up within him. He looked around aimlessly, and the stopped in his tracks when he spotted something. It was an old mirror, resting on the ground and leaning against the wall. Toulouse turned his head and saw that his siblings were still walking towards the center of the room, focused on dancing some more. The orange kitten thought for a moment, then made a decision as Scat Cat and the Alley Cats started to play again.
Toulouse walked over to the mirror and stood in front of it. He took a deep breath, stared into the eyes of his reflection, and said, "Belladonna."
The Alley Cats continued to play their music behind him.
"Belladonna," he said again.
A strange uneasiness built up in Toulouse chest, along with a sudden desire to stop. However, the kitten merely swallowed hard as he put all of his focus on his desire to prove to himself that he was a strong, brave alley cat that wasn't afraid of anything.
"Belladonna," he whispered.
His voice sounded pathetic a weak and fearful, totally not what he believed a brave alley cat should sound like. However, he had done it, and he soon felt quite satisfied, albeit still a little uneasy.
Toulouse looked around for a bit, trying to see if anything out of the ordinary had happened. Then he nodded proudly and turned his back to the mirror, walking with a proud swagger as his tail swung back and forth. As he left, however, he didn't notice the black electricity arcing around the frame of the mirror, nor how the glass appeared to shift and warp like the surface of a river.
"What took you so long?" Berlioz asked as Toulouse approached.
The blue bowtie wearing kitten smiled smugly and said, "Oh, I just showed how brave I am. And also proved that the Boogeydog doesn't exist."
Before Berlioz could ask what he meant, Marie screamed and pointed. Berlioz followed her paw and his eyes widened. Toulouse turned around slowly, and his jaw dropped open when he saw that the mirror's surface had turned pitch black as it's frame glowed red hot.
As the mirror began to emit strange, unearthly sounds, Scat Cat and the others stopped playing. Duchess quickly ran to her kittens, pulling them in close to her with her tail. Thomas leaped over as well, taking a few steps in front of his family in spite of the obvious look of fear on his face.
The mirror's surface emitted a hot flash of red light, and a lavender paw came out from the mirror. This was followed by another paw, and then the wickedly grinning head of a whippet dog with long hair tied up in a wild ponytail. The dog stepped fully out of the mirror, revealing that she wore a black leather vest with tail collar, as well as black spiked choker around her neck. However, the truly disturbing part about her was the pair of demonic wings on her back.
"You. . . .IDIOT!" the demon barked out, her eyes fixed directly on Toulouse, who now sat trembling within his mother's tail.
Thomas turned to his family and shouted, "Duchess, take the kids and run! I'll try and-."
"You aren't going ANYWHERE!" Belladonna snarled, her voice shaking the building to its very foundations, "NONE of you are!"
"Mama mia!" Peppo shouted fearfully as he dropped his concertina and pulled his hat down over his face. Billy Boss stood nearby, trembling slightly as he put on a brave face while using his double bass as a makeshift shield.
Belladonna gave a wide, unsettling evil grin and said, "I've been summoned here, and that means ALL of your souls are MINE!" She then pointed at Toulouse and said, "And that one will be dying first!"
Belladonna rose up into the air, and her body flashed as it changed shape. Her wings doubled in size and became more tattered and demonic, while her lower half transformed into that of snake. Now a demonic naga, Belladonna snarled as she slithered towards the cats.
Duchess' eyes widened in terror as the fear froze her in place. All she could do was hold her terrified kittens closer as the demon closed in on her.
Thomas' mind raced for a moment, then he suddenly held up a paw and shouted, "WAIT! WAAAAAIT! A WAGER! A BET! I WANNA MAKE A DEAL! LET'S MAKE A DEAL!"
Belladonna froze in place, then stared down hard at Thomas. ". . . What?" she said.
Thomas gulped, the panic and fear not yet leaving his eyes, then he said, "We challenge you to a swing-off!"
Belladonna blinked, then snarled out, "Curses!" She then shifted back into her previous demon-dog form and conjured up an ancient looking scroll. She growled and she looked the parchment over, and then she said, "The Demon Code prevents me from declining any deals or challenges a mortal wishes to make with me." She made the scroll disappear and turned back to Thomas. "Fine then. A battle of music it is. What are your terms, Thomas O'Malley?"
Thomas took a deep breath, then let it out. Appearing a bit more confident, he explained, "Alright, madame Boogeydog. I'll lay my cards on the table. It's all of us mere mortal felines against you and your demon canine-ness. If all us swingers can outswing you with our music and singing, then you gotta take your sorry tail back to where you came from, and never show up to go after any cats ever again."
Belladonna leaned forward and said snidely, "And what if I win?"
Thomas closed his eyes for a moment, then breathed out and said in resignation, "Then you can take me."
"What!?" Duchess cried out in horror.
Thomas quickly whispered out the side of his mouth to his wife, "Trust me, baby. This is the only way to keep her paws off of the kittens."
Duchess' eyes sparkled with tears. "Oh, my dear Thomas. . ." she said softly.
Thomas licked his lips and continued, "You can take me, and we both scram out of here so I can be your slave."
"DADDY, NOOOOO!" Marie cried out.
Berlioz shook his head as he shouted, "You can't go with her, Dad!"
"It's all my fault!" Toulouse wailed as he ran forward, all of his bravado gone, "I made the Boogeydog come here! I said her name three times to the mirror like the cat in Shun Gon's story! I did it!"
In an instant, all adult eyes were on the Siamese cat. Shun Gon quickly began to sweat rather profusely, and he shrank back from the furious gazes he was receiving from all angles. He laughed nervously as he slid down off of the stool he'd been sitting on to play the piano. He slid down onto the floor, where he lay while he covered his face with his forepaws.
Thomas shook his head dismissively and turned back to Toulouse. "Ah, it don't- it doesn't matter now, tiger. It's a father's job to protect his kids, so that's what I'm gonna do."
"But-but-but. . ." Toulouse said as his eyes darted between his father and the demon he'd summoned.
Thomas put on a smile and said, "Just relax, tiger. Nothing's gonna happen. We can take this bit-, I mean Boogeydog easy. Scat Cat and his band are the best swingers that ever lived. This'll be easy. Right gang?"
Shun Gon uncovered his face and got up, nodding silently as he got back onto the stool. Peppo adjusted his hat and smiled in agreement. Hit Cat was clearly nervous behind his John Lennon glasses as he gripped his beaded necklace tightly with one paw and tuned his guitar with the other, but nodded too nevertheless. Billy Boss was clearly ready to go as he cracked his knuckles and plucked his double bass threateningly.
Marie sniffled as she looked to Scat Cat said, "You promise you won't let her take our Daddy away?"
Scat Cat looked down at the three kitten and tipped his hat at them. With a confident smile he said, "Don't you worry about that. You cats oughta already know that we know where it's at. This Boogeydog's just a square. Trust me, we got this."
Feeling much more confident, Thomas stared Belladonna right in the face and said, "So, do we got a deal?"
Thomas extended his right paw, and Belladonna flashed a wicked smile and cackled, "Ah-ha-ha-ha! Deal!" She reached out and grabbed Thomas' paw in a vice-like grip, shaking it violently before letting it go and knocking Thomas back with a flap of her wings. "Let the swing-off begin!" Belladonna declared, and she laughed maniacally as she stood up on her hindlegs.
There was a flash of light, and a guitar appeared in her forepaws. However, this guitar was unlike Hit Cat's guitar. It was made of metal, and mostly blue, except for the front of it's main body, which had a yellow and red fire pattern on it. It didn't even have a hollow empty chamber behind the strings. It appeared to be one solid guitar shaped piece of metal.
When the demonic whippet strummed the instrument, it made a harsher, more intense and rocking sound than an ordinary acoustic guitar. She strummed an imposing rhythm on the guitar, then sang out loudly.
"I'm a whippet, I can rock it!"
Belladonna spun around and twirled the guitar in her paws.
"Check this riff, it's hot 'n tasty!"
Belladonna riffed hard on the guitar, sending out some fiery notes imbued with hot musical passion, then continued playing as she sang out more lyrics.
"I'm the Boogeydog, I do what I want!
Whatever I got, I'm gonna flaunt!
There's never been a contest that I've ever lost!"
Marie covered her eyes and trembled in fear, and her two brothers huddled close to her on either side.
"Making Thomas my slave will be fun!
Gonna make him clean my wings with his tongue!
Gonna make him scream till he ruptures a lung!"
"NOOOOOOO!"
Belladonna stopped playing and glared at Duchess. The purebred cat was in terror once again, and she tearfully shook her head and pleaded, "No-no-no-no-no-no, please no! Don't take my love from me, from our children. Please, no-no-no."
Thomas was in the midst of grimacing and nervously tugging at his collar when he heard Duchess' pleas. Thomas shook his own fears off and quickly approached his wife. "Hey, hey, hey now, what's all this, baby?" he said he leaned forward to nuzzle Duchess under her chin, "You afraid of her? Really? She's not so hot. I'm not going anywhere, I promise sweetheart."
Duchess sniffed and asked, "Can they. . .really do this?"
Thomas stared into Duchess' sparkling blue sapphire eyes and said, "Sure they can. Especially if you lead us in on that harp."
Duchess nodded slowly and said, "Yes. Anything I can do I will, my dear. I shall."
As Duchess quickly made her way over to the harp, Thomas turned to a frightened looking Scat Cat and said, "Come on, Scat Cat. Let's beat that demon's music with our music."
As Duchess began to strum the harp, Scat Cat shook his head and said in desperation as he held his hat in his paws, stretching it nervously. "There's just no way that we can win! That was a masterpiece!" he said, speaking in time with Duchess' harp playing out of some sort of musician's reflex.
"Listen to me-," Thomas urged.
"She plays too well because she's not a mortal dog!" Scat Cat said as he gestured to the Boogeydog.
Thomas slapped Scat Cat across the face and shouted, "Get a grip, Scat!"
The big black cat blinked his yellow eyes, and Thomas sighed and spoke in time with the harp, "This is a fate worse than the grave. She's gonna make me into her slave."
"Nyet," Billy Boss said seriously as he glared at the smirking demon dog.
"Unless we prove that we know how to really swing," Thomas declared to his friend.
". . .O'Malley. . ." Scat Cat nodded slowly, "We've been through so much stuff."
Thomas nodded back, "Was almost jabbed by a pitchfork."
"That sounds rough," Hit Cat chimed in.
Thomas and Scat Cat turned to face their foe and declared, "Now it's time to take this demon down!"
Duchess played a few more flourishing notes, and then Shun Gon, Billy Boss, Peppo, and Hit Cat all launched in to an energetic piece of music and quickly built up in triumphantly as it went along, and as Thomas and Scat Cat sang.
"Come on, Scat Cat, now it's time to blow doors down!"
"I hear ya, Thomas, now it's time to blow doors down!"
"Light up this joint, 'cause we know where it's at, now!"
"We'll spank this demon, and we'll send her to frown-town!"
"Now we've got to take this demon down!"
"My swinging horn will make sure that we take her down!"
Scat Cat then began playing his horn for all it was worth, putting his heart and soul into the music. Thomas had a big smile as he put his forepaws into the air and continued singing.
"Come on, Scat Cat, now it's time to blow doors down!
Yeah, we're really swinging! Let's prove she's a square now!"
Toulouse was so caught up in the music that he jumped forward and defiantly sang at the irritated looking demon.
"Hey Belladonna! You're gonna loose!
You try to scare us? Well we refuse!"
Berlioz jumped out as well and sang his own verse.
"We'll win this swing-off, and win the dare!
Our music bounces! You're just a square!"
Marie pranced forward and sang out melodiously.
"Good always beats bad, just face the facts,
We're something special: Aristocats!"
Caught up in the beat of the music, all tied together by Scat Cat's trumpet playing, the kitten all chanted "Aristocats" over and over to the tune. It was so good and catchy that all the rest of the cats joined in on the chant. Thomas and the kitten all danced and twirled around as the others moved to the beat and played stronger and louder with each and every repetition of the chant.
Then, once the music reached its crescendo, they song ended with a few final triumphant notes. Thomas slid forward a bit with his children posed excitedly behind him. Thomas was breathing heavily as he spread his forepaws out wide in an eager and optimistic pose.
Belladonna peered at Thomas, then sneered and said, "You cats are a bunch of pathetic losers. Come on, Thomas, you're coming with me!"
Thomas' face promptly fell, and he stood frozen in fear as Belladonna aimed the neck of her guitar at him like a gun.
"Take this, my new little paw-licking lackey!" Belladonna said electricity coursed through her instrument, then she strummed her guitar and sent a bolt of lightning straight at Thomas.
Duchess cried out and wailed in horror at the sight of her beloved in such peril. The kittens all gave their own cries of "No!" as well. Thomas could only shut his eyes tightly and brace himself.
However, a flash of gentle, soothing light filled the room, and a new voice called out, "ENOUGH!"
Belladonna was thrown backwards and landed flat on her back, her guitar suddenly vanishing. She got up and glared at the figure that had appeared in front of Thomas and deflected the lightning bolt back. The light level lowered to the point where everyone could see normally, and the new arrival was revealed to be another whippet that bore a striking resemblance to Belladonna. However, this dog was hot pink in color, with a heart necklace and a golden halo hovering above her head. She too had wings, although hers were feathery and angelic.
"Annabelle! What are you doing here!?" Belladonna snarled.
The angel just smiled and shook her head. "Foolish cousin. A deal has been made, now you must honor it."
"ME!? I won this contest!" Belladonna argued.
Annabelle looked disparagingly at Belladonna and asked, "What makes you think you were the judge?"
"What makes you think you're the judge!?" Belladonna shot back.
The angel smiled again and said, "Whoever said I did? I do believe there is only One truly unbiased judge in existence." She then reverently directed her vision upwards as Heavenly light shone down upon her.
Belladonna's eyes widened in genuine fear. "Oh no. . ." she said.
Annabelle spread her angelic wings wide and declared, "The winners of this Swing-off are O'Malley and the Alley Cats!"
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Belladonna cried out as the white light burned her, causing her to stumble backwards. Meanwhile, the mirror she had arrived through began to ripple and warp again. The fiery pits of the underworld appeared, and five chains, all glowing red with searing heat, shot out and wrapped around Belladonna's legs and neck.
Belladonna snarled as she tried to make one last dive for Thomas, only to fall flat on her face and be dragged backwards towards the mirror. She dug her claws into the wood floor, leaving long scratches as she glared hatefully at the cats.
"CURSE YOU, THOMAS! AND CURSE YOU, SCAT CAT!" she spat while fully enraged, "I'LL GET YOU ARISTOCAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATS!"
Belladonna was finally dragged back through the mirror, and the glass flashed, and it was once again just an ordinary mirror.
". . .Excellent," Annabelle said with a nod, then she turned to the cats and said, "Everyone is okay, I trust."
Thomas sat wide eyed and clutching his pounding heart, and he nodded his head slowly and said, "Geez- uh, I mean, gosh. You just saved my life."
Annabelle shook her head and said, "I didn't do as much as you believe. It was you and your friends and family that won this contest. I merely announced the winner."
Duchess finally recovered enough to spring from her spot by the harp and make a beeline to Thomas. "Oh, my dear Thomas!" she wept as tears of joyful relief leaked from her eyes. She practically buried her face in the crook of Thomas' neck, and the tom cat warmly nuzzled her back in return.
"Hey now, there's no need for tears to wet those gorgeous sapphire stars," he said soothingly, "It's all over now. No more danger, we're all safe, aren't we?"
The kittens all joined in on the impromptu group hug, and Toulouse was sniffling as he said, "I'm really, really sorry. I'm so sorry. It's all my fault, and I'm sorry."
Thomas smiled at the orange kitten and said, "Don't you worry about it. Everything's fine."
Toulouse looked up at his father and said between sniffles, "No it's not. The Boogeydog almost took you away and it was all my fault. . ."
The sound of Annabelle melodious chuckling caught the cat's attention. The pink whippet smiled and said to Toulouse, "Do not punish yourself further, young one. You have seen the error of your ways and repented. You understand the danger of such actions and will surely not repeat. Your family has forgiven you, so now is the time to accept that forgiveness and move onward. Let the fear and sorrow leave your heart, and simply continue to live with the ones who love you."
Toulouse stared wide eyed at the angel dog, while Marie gave her brother a knowing smirk and said to him, "I will just have to keep a closer eye on you, just to be safe."
Toulouse frowned at this, while Berlioz just began to laugh. As Duchess bent down to lick each of her kittens, Thomas said to the group at large, "Well, I'd say the right lesson has been learned, which is not to mess with things that aren't to be messed with. And you kids remember that we'll always love you, even when you make a mistake."
"Yes," Duchess said softly to the three of them, "We always will."
Annabelle smiled warmly at the heartwarming scene, then she sighed and said, "Well, I do believe my job is done. And although canine-kind is my jurisdiction, and I can say with great confidence that you are all currently on the path to a very happy eternity after long, fulfilling lives." Anabelle spread her wings and flapped them gently, ascending amidst of shaft of golden light. "Bless each and every one of you! Have a happy La Toussaint!" she declared as she ascended swiftly before vanishing without a trace.
Peppo quickly made the sign of the cross before letting out a sigh of relief. Billy Boss patted the Italian cat on the back as he chuckled nervously.
Shun Gon smiled and said rather awkwardly under Hit Cat's rather intense gaze, "Well, all is well that ends well, right?"
Hit Cat just sighed and made a show of cleaning his glasses.
For his part, Thomas shot the Siamese cat a look that said 'we'll talk about this later.' But then he relented, smiled, and said with a shrug, "Well, right now, I'm in the mood for some music that's a lighter, happier, bouncier fare. You with me, Scat Cat?"
Scat Cat was all smiles as he said, "You got that right, Thomas."
Thomas then turned to his wife, who was still snuggled up to his side, and to his children, who no longer looked fearful; and he said, "Ya see? Nothing will ever break up this family."
As the kittens cheered and Duchess nuzzled Thomas' cheek, the other cats all resumed playing their swinging jazz music in victory of good over evil on this night before La Toussaint.
The End
