I've read many drabble collections for many series, so much so that I've become interested in trying it. However, I've never gotten the inspiration needed, nor could I find the right characters to star in them. But then I saw episode 48 of Pokemon Journeys. "A Close Call... Practically!" was an awesome, hilarious, character rich episode that made me fall in love with the adorkable pair of Ash's stoic Lucario and Goh's cheerful Cinderace. And so, here we are. Please enjoy this first pack of drabbles, and PLEASE suggest as many prompts or ideas as you can! They don't have to be one word prompts, please go all out with your suggestions and I'll do my best to make them a reality. I am REALLY inspired to do this, so please help us all take advantage of it!

Jackal-Rabbit Drabbles

Drabble Pack 1!

1. Bet

Lucario and Cinderace stood face to face. Lucario had a serious, determined expression on his face. Cinderace had a confident smirk.

Lucario sighed and folded his arms. "You can still back out of this foolish bet, and I'll drop the whole thing," he said in Pokespeak, ofcourse.

Cinderace chuckled and said in his own dialect, "Woah, you sure sound scared of getting burned. I can totally handle your little Aura Sphere. A Pyro Ball, on the other paw-."

"Is nothing I can't handle," Lucario interrupted, "I know what fire is. While you have no idea what Aura truly is. I doubt you could even comprehend it's true nature. But if I can't talk you out of it-."

"Then let's do it!" Cinderace said as he kicked a pebbled off of the ground and began juggling it with his feet.

Lucario huffed, and got into position and began gathering Aura in his paws. Soon, both Pokemon had their respective orbs charged up and ready.

"1. . ." Lucario said.

"2. . ." Cinderace said.

"3!" both Pokemon exclaimed.

The Pyro Ball and Aura Sphere were both launched straight up into the air, and Cinderace and Lucario quickly switched locations and directed their attention upwards.

"This will be a piece of carrot cake!" Cinderace thought as he raised his right foot to catch and subsequently juggle the Aura Sphere.

"This should be as easy as chocolate pie," Lucario thought, a small grin on his face as he cupped his paws to catch the Pyro Ball.

About an hour later, back in the Pokemon Center, Ash and Goh stood across from the pair. Lucario had both his paws soaking in a bowl of Burn Heal, while Cinderace sat with his right foot wrapped up in bandages with an ice pack tied onto it.

Ash sweatdropped and said, "What were you guys thinking?"

Goh smiled sheepishly and said, "I guess they got a little too competitive?"

Lucario and Cinderace both winced, both from the pain of their injuries and their shared embarrassment.

From his perch on Ash's shoulder, Pikachu shook his head and said, "You guys are not too bright."

2. Combo

Cinderace was frowning and Lucario was scowling. Everyone was supposed to be relaxing in the park with some delicious snacks. Most of the Pokemon had spread out to enjoy the beautiful day as they ate. Unfortunate, these two had not been looking where they were going and ended up bumping into each other. Thus, resulting in their newest predicament.

Cinderace held out a carrot that was now half covered in a brown, sticky, fudgy pudding and said, "You got your chocolate on one of my carrots. . ."

Lucario growled as he pointed to the bowl of chocolate pudding he was holding. There was now a chunk of carrot slowly sinking into it. Lucario glared at Cinderace and accused, "You got one of your carrots in my chocolate!"

The pair stood locking eyes with each other for a bit. Then, they slowly looked down at their compromised snacks. Cinderace sniffed tentatively at his chocolate covered carrot and shot it a curious look. Lucario poked the carrot in his pudding with his spoon and hmmed to himself.

Cinderace looked back up at Lucario questioningly and said, "Well. . .maybe . . .?"

Lucario dug his spoon into his pudding and scooped up the chunk of carrot along with the pudding around it. Then he glanced up at Cinderace and shrugged, "I don't know. . ."

The pair exchange glances and thoughts wordlessly, then they both decided to take the plunge and bite the bullet, or rather, the chocolate covered carrot.

A little while later, Ash and Goh walked through the park, searching for their two Pokemon.

"I don't see them anywhere," Goh said in concern, "Are they hiding from us?"

Before Ash could answer, he was interrupted by the sound of retching noises coming from a nearby bush. They turned and saw a long blue tail and a short fluffy tail sticking out of the bush. As the retching sounds continued, Ash slowly turned to the confused looking Goh and said, "Let's pretend we never saw or heard this, okay?"

3. Sore

Lucario nodded to Ash after being congratulated for a great battle. As Ash turned to speak with Goh, Lucario let out the breath he was holding and staggered over to Cinderace. The Striker Pokemon was sitting up against a tree, and he smiled up at him and said, "Nice one, Lucario! You didn't even break a sweat."

Lucario huffed and took a quick glance behind him to see that Ash and Goh were still preoccupied. Then he looked back down at Cinderace, closed his eyes, and breathed in and out.

"Cinderace. May I borrow your foot?" he muttered.

Cinderace stared at Lucario in confusion.

Lucario huffed and said, "Look, I don't want to look weak in front of Ash. I pulled a muscle during that battle. I need some heat on it. Now."

Cinderace cocked his head and said, "But. . .how do I-?"

Lucario put a paw onto a spot on his back and said impatiently, "I'll lie down in front of you and you put a foot on my back. Okay? Please?"

"Okay."

"I'll owe you big time. Just please-."

"I said okay. I'll do it! You're my friend, Lucario!" Cinderace said with a smile.

"Thank you, thank you, lift your feet," Lucario said quickly as he walked towards Cinderace, who quickly lifted his legs as Lucario dropped flat on his stomach in front him. Cinderace smiled and placed his feet onto Lucario's back. He placed his right foot flat onto the spot Lucario was holding, focusing to warm up the heat spots on the bottom of his foot.

"Ohhhhhh, yes. . ." Lucario muttered, sounding very much relieved, "Thank Arceus. . ."

Cinderace smiled warmly, glad to see that he was helping his friend and making him so happy.

Suddenly, Lucario's Aura sensors rose up, and then he sprang up suddenly, sending Cinderace's legs straight up so it looked like the Striker Pokemon was doing some kind of strange Yoga pose. Lucario had sensed that Ash and Goh were coming over and had jumped up to sit against the tree besides Cinderace.

When Ash and Goh approached the pair, they were confused by Cinderace's odd position.

". . .What are you doing?" Goh asked.

With his head between his knees, Cinderace pouted, then turned to Lucario and said, "Okay. Now you owe me big time."

4. Tickle

It was the dead of night, and everyone was camped out under the moon and stars. Everyone was asleep, with the exception of Lucario.

Lucario scowled down at Cinderace, who was lying flat on his back with his arms sprawled out. It wasn't his odd sleeping position that bothered Lucario though. It was the bunny's obnoxious snoring that was driving him crazy.

As Cinderace slept with a wide open mouth, a wiggling nose, and twitching feet, Lucario sat wide awake, his aggravation slowly being turned into envy. Here he sat, unable to sleep, while this one was sleeping without a care in the world, while at the same time taking away his own right to a goodnight's rest.

In spite of all this, Lucario didn't have the heart to wake the bunny up. At least, not in a sudden or forceful way. Which is why as Lucario stared down at Cinderace's large feet, a rare mischievously smug appeared on his muzzle.

Lucario moved over down to Cinderace's feet, and he grabbed his long blue tail and began to gently brush the tip of it against the pad of Cinderace's left footpaw.

Cinderace's snoring gave way to snickers as he twisted and turned in his sleep.

"Urr. . .heh-heh. . .stoppit. . . Gohhhh. . .staaaahp. . ."

Lucario continued to smirk at this, and he then moved over to Cinderace's right foot.

"Heh-heh-heh. . no. . .you're not Goh. . .Eternatus. . .heh-heh. . . Got me with it's giant claw . . .heh-heh. . ."

Lucario's amusement soared to new heights as he thought, "Really? He thinks he's being tickled by Eternatus? What a mind. . . Might as well give him something worthy of a Legendary."

Lucario then went all in, tickling Cinderace's foot even faster with the tip of his tail.

"Urr. . .ah-heh-haaa. . .Nooooo. . .Let go. . .Now!"

POW!

A powerful kick from Cinderace connected with Lucario's back, launching him several yards away where he landed flat on his stomach, all the wind knocked out of him. After taking a moment to catch his breath, and another moment to realized that Cinderace had stopped snoring, Lucario sighed and closed his eyes, muttering to himself, "Well, at least he doesn't know Sleep Talk, or else that could have been a Blaze Kick."

5. Teeth

Lucario's eyes widened in surprise as a Ninetales came out of the woods and approached him. This was meant to be a day for rest and relaxation for everyone, but Lucario wasn't one to turn down a battle with a worthy opponent. Just as he was getting into battle position, the sound of running footsteps caught his attention.

"Woah, woah, woah!" Cinderace shouted as he raced onto the scene and skidded to a halt next to Lucario. Then he pointed to the Ninetales and said, "I know that Pokemon!"

"Really. . ." Lucario remarked, sounding relatively interested.

Cinderace paused and put a paw underneath his chin, "I mean. . .I think so. . .Maybe. . .Huh. . ."

Cinderace then walked over to the unperturbed Fox Pokemon, "Okay, so, this was back when I was a Scorbunny, and that was long time ago, so you might not remember . . .but didn't you try to eat me once?"

The Ninetales cocked its head, slightly caught off guard by the direction the conversation was going in.

Cinderace rubbed his chin and looked down. "Hmm. . .I know I'd remember if I could just. . ." He then smiled and said, "Oh, I know! Show me your teeth. Ya know, just go all raargh, like you wanna eat me. Ya know, like raargh!" Cinderace raised his paws threateningly and bared his two front teeth like a predator.

The Ninetales rolled its eyes, looking quite annoyed by all this, but nonetheless leaned forward and snarled, showing its sharp teeth.

Cinderace laughed with delight and nodded enthusiastically, then he said, "Aw yeah, that's right! It is you! I knew I'd never forget you! Great. Alright." Cinderace then turned around as if to leave, but then swiftly pivoted and dealt the Ninetales a mighty Blaze Kick to the underside of its chin. The force of the kick launched the Ninetales straight up, sending it blasting off like Team Rocket, howling all the way.

After the Fox Pokemon disappeared into the sky with a twinkle of light, Cinderace jumped for joy and fist pumped, saying, "AW YEAH! FINALLY! OH WOW!"

Lucario just stood in stunned silence at what he just witnessed. He then continued to watch Cinderace perform a victory breakdance. Eventually, Cinderace calmed down and said with a sigh, "Woo-hoo. . . I've always dreamed of doing that."

6. Paws

"Great double battle, partner," Lucario said with a smile, and then, deciding that he ought to be a little friendlier to the rabbit, he raised his right paw and said, "Hi-paw."

Cinderace smiled and raised a paw of his own.

Lucario blinked, then pointed at the paw Cinderace was offering and said, "That's. . .your foot."

Still with his right leg lifted, and standing effortlessly balanced on his left foot, Cinderace nodded and said, "Yeah. . .you said 'hi-paw.'"

Lucario face palmed and said, "Cinderace, just use your forepaw."

Cinderace huffed and said, "This is how I do it when Goh asks for a hi-paw."

"I'm not Goh! I'm trying to be nice here, so just work with me!"

"Why can't you do it the cool way?"

"Why can't you do it the normal way?!"

"You're just jealous!"

"Jealous of what? Giant feet!? I like my paws just the way they are!"

"Of course you do. They're so small and adorable, aren't they?"

"Grrrrrr..."

"Aww, look at those little baby paws. Look at them, they're so cute!"

And with that, Cinderace found himself being chased around by an enraged Lucario once again, much to the confusion of their Trainers.

Ash remarked, "I guess they've got the quite the rivalry, don't they?"

Goh smiled and said, "Yeah, they sure do."

Pikachu, meanwhile, pulled his ears down to cover his face and said, "I am so glad they can't understand what they're saying."

"Baby paws! Baby paws!"

"I'M GONNA KILL YOU!"
