SPOILER WARNING! This story contains spoilers for events that occur in late season 1 and season 2 of the English 4Kids Dub of Yu-Gi-Oh 5D's, as well as events exclusive to the original Japanese Sub. (Kids all across America who loved watching Yu-Gi-Oh 5D's on Saturday mornings were all robed of a thrilling conclusion to the best Yu-Gi-Oh series ever.) Please, go ahead and watch the TRUE ending of this Anime on Crunchyroll or Anime Planet (Anime Planet is free). However, I will be using their English names in this story because those are the names I grew up with.

But, if you don't care about spoilers, don't worry. There's nothing too major here, so even if you haven't seen either of the endings, you'll still understand and get a lot out of this story.

Also, this is a sequel to my other story "The Epic Poem of the Six Dragons", so please read that FIRST!

The Epic Poem of Life Stream Dragon

A pair of twins were asleep in their penthouse apartment in New Domino City. The sister was resting rather calmly in her bed, neatly tucked away under her covers and breathing in and out softly. The brother, on the other hand, was sprawled out beneath his blanket, snoring rather loudly as he twitched and moved in his sleep. However, his snoring gave way to groaning, and his twitching gave way to tossing and turning. Leo mumbled and muttered in his sleep, and a certain wave of emotions overtook him. Not anguish or pain, but longing, perhaps with a touch of sorrow to it as well. It was as if something that had been held in for so long finally had a chance to come out, and whoever held said secret was desperate for anyone and everyone to know it.

It was at the height of these emotions that Leo awoke, falling out of bed in process. Leo laid on the ground for a moment, wide eyed as his Mark of the Dragons' Heart illuminated the room. Then he gasped and used the light of his mark to find his deck, right on the nightstand where he put it before he went to sleep. He searched through his cards until he found the two he needed, then he grabbed his cellphone and immediately speed dialed Yusei.

"C'mon Yusei, pick up the phone. You gotta," Leo said nervously as he held his phone to his ear with his left hand and the two monster cards with his right hand.

After a tense few moment, Leo heard Yusei's voice saying, "Leo, what are you doing? It's after 10:30. You should be asleep by-."

"I know how to crack the code!" Leo said quickly, his face totally certain.

"What? What are you-?"

"I know it sounds nuts, but you gotta trust me, you need these two code numbers."

"Leo. . . ?"

"The first one is 02403771, you got it?"

". . .You're really serious about this. . .?"

"YES!" Leo said desperately.

". . .Okay. I trust you, Leo. The first one was 02403771?"

"Yeah, and the second one is 25165047."

"25165047. . .Okay, got it."

Leo grinned and nodded excitedly, "Great! Now quick, use them! Now!"

"Only if you hang up and go to sleep. If it works we can all see what we've got tomorrow, alright."

Leo groaned and said, "Ugh. Alright fine. G'night."

Leo hung up and slapped his phone and his cards back on the nightstand before flopping back down on his bed. A few seconds after muttering about how he'd never be able to get to sleep, Leo's eyes shut and his snoring resumed and his Mark stopped its glowing and calmed down with its bearer.

"LEO solved it!?" Crow exclaimed in shock.

"Not like you could've," Jack remarked snidely under his breath.

Yusei explained to everyone gathered in the garage, "The two numbers Leo gave me were they keys to cypher. I just put them into the simple program I put together and it turned all the numbers in the text file back into words." Yusei then looked to the youngest boy in the group and asked, "But where did you even get those numbers from?"

Leo took out his Power Tool Dragon and Life Stream Dragon cards and said, "Those were the passcodes for my dragons."

Crow looked more than a bit lost at this and asked, "But what made you think those had anything to do with it?"

Leo thought for a moment, then shrugged and said, "I don't know. It just came to me. . . oh yeah, and my Mark was glowing too, so there's that."

Luna smiled and said, "Oh, well that explains it."

"It does?" Crow asked.

"Okay, okay, that's enough debate," Akiza said, soundly slightly amused by the conversation but still eager to get back to business, "Let's see what this message says."

Leo was eager as always and said, "Aw yeah, this is gonna be good! I can feel it."

Once again, everyone gathered around the computer screen to read.

I remember the first time
That her pure eyes met mine
I sought to increase my might
The Fairy pitied my plight

I was determined, I was brave
I could slay, yet I could save
But I had no place to call home
No purpose to my name

But Fairy came to me, as I was training
She heard the words, I was saying
Offered me, the Crismon Dragon's might
And I felt at home, with her that night

To her I revealed, my power to heal
The two of us forged, something pure and real
The Crimson Dragon's bond, was secondary to me
Brother and sister, we would be

Then the Earthbound Immortals rose
A deadly threat they posed
All part of a grand design
It was finally my time

Light and Dark clashed in a war
My sister got her reward
Snared in the wicked Uru's web
My Crimson bonds did ebb

"You failed her! You let her die!"
I raged, I screamed, I cursed, I cried
I chose to flee, I forsook my destiny
How could the Crimson Dragon, do this to me?

A life without her, had no appeal to me
Only one choice, was clear to me
But something within, wouldn't let me die
The Crimson Dragon's might, it burned inside

He called down from the heavens, "This is not how your story ends!"
Then I awoke, surrounded by my new Morphtronic friends
5000 years had passed, since the moment I died
My Soul was cast through time, I was brought back alive

But not all was fair, for I no longer cared
My emotions and love, were no longer there
My loyalty, was all that remained
To my master and machines, I'd keep them all safe.

Soon I learned of Fairy's fate
Victim of the Ape King's hate
Turned to stone by his cruel curse
Minus made all reversed

Regulus and I crushed Zeman's reign
Paid him back for all that pain
My sister had endured the curse
The Ape King's reign, unversed

And yet It wasn't fair, my sister was right there
But in her eyes, there was no recognition there
No better did I fare, I swear I tried to care
My heartless metal form, could only stand and stare

I still wanted her safe, I still was her ally
But still I yearned to have, a single tear to cry
My grief a curse did bring, I couldn't feel anything
My very soul was numb, bound to a machine

After the Netherworld was sealed
A new threat was revealed
Evils from the world of man
I would do what I can

Struggle with Fairy under Skiel's wrath
I failed along that path
Wish I was able to feel shame
Yet my soul somehow felt pain

The Meklord Emperors three, machines of infinity
The power of those three, towered over me
Then the three became one, the ending had begun
Archifiend, Black-Winged and Star, teamed up and they won

Astro Mekanikle fell, then Asterisk rose from Hell
The Astro Dragon sought, despair and death as well.
Fairy and I, we followed Red Archfiend's lead
But we realized if we failed, our masters would bleed

Our master's lives were slipping away
Leo's courage did not give way
Swore Luna would see another day
He almost died that day

That's when I finally felt something
My very soul was shaking
My metal prison was breaking
I could regain my feelings

I was reborn, back into my true form
My heart beat true, and strong and warm
Back to end the strife, back to protect life
My love, joy, and pride, slashed despair like a knife

The five dragons then rose to six
Pleased to learn that I'd been missed
Morphtronics and Blackwings are safe
All is just as I had wished

The Mark of the Dragon's Heart
Fairy and I won't be split apart
Destiny is now fulfilled
And life is beautiful

Everyone was silent as they took in the words, and the story that the words told. Eventually, it was Luna who broke the silence as she provided an explanation.

"The file had to have come from the Duel Spirit World," Luna said in amazement, "It's the only way. I mean, the Morphtronic Duel Spirits would have gotten the story right from the source, and then maybe through the Crimson Dragon's power, they were able to send it to us? I don't see how anyone other than a Duel Spirit could possibly know all of this."

Jack straightened up and remarked, "Well, I've had enough mystical magical history for one day, if I'm honest."

Crow shrugged and said, "Yeah, me too. But I gotta admit, that Life Stream Dragon sure is something special. Not as cool as Black-Winged Dragon, but still."

Leo had a far away look in his eye, but then he finally blinked and said, "Well, all I know is. . ." Then he put on a big smile and said, "I'm so glad I was able to help Life Stream. . . and to keep Luna safe. And now, we can both keep our sisters safe. Forever."

Luna rushed over to hug his brother, who appeared embarrassed at first, only to smile and gladly return the embrace.

. . . .

Life Stream. . .

. . .my dear friend. . .

. . .my beloved brother. . .

. . . .

. . .Thank you.
