Rin opens the box, and it was a necklace with a pendant of a crescent moon.
Rin eyes lit up and bowed to Sesshomaru. Sesshomaru gets on his knees and takes the necklace to put it around her neck.
"Rin this necklace is called an amethyst because of the crystal. It is carved into a crescent moon to represent my clan. It has my demonic energy surging through it, so no harm will be sent your way by enemies. If you keep this on, you will remain safe. You are a part of this family so do not hesitate to call on me, if you wish it, I will be here".
Hanami looks in shock, as Sesshomaru has never acted that way to her. He acted as if Rin was his mate. She will only be his wife and carry his heir so that meant he did not have to particularly love her.
Sesshomaru tells Jaken to hand her a couple of kimonos. Rin as always is happy to receive gifts from her lord. They all walk off into a clearing where it was quiet and peaceful. Sesshomaru watches Jaken and Rin fuss, make up, fuss again. A small smirk comes across his face as he feels at home.
Hanami sits beside Sesshomaru and wonders what her lord's thoughts are.
"I want to apologize again my lord as I did not realize she was important, it just rare to see someone of your stature show kindness to a lowly being," she says.
"She isn't a lowly being, she is different from all the humans I have come across, it may be her innocence, but she brought nothing but light into my life" he responds.
Hanami in the back of her mind wants to get rid of Rin as she knows Sesshomaru harbors feelings for the little girl; he has not recognized as love yet. She would plan to take away the pendant so that Rin may never call on him or be protected. If she dies, she dies, she thinks.
They say their goodbyes and Sesshomaru says he will come to visit within the next three moons.
"I will be waiting my lord".
He glances at her and turns his back, and they all take to the sky.
Later that night, Rin hears her named being called by Sesshomaru, she sneaks out the hut that her and Kaede share. She sees Sesshomaru motions her for to follow him. They are deep within the forest when he turns around and snatches the necklace, he gave her from her neck.

Sesshomaru not really caring about what she does, just shrugs it off and looks to the sky.
Hanami spent all night thinking how to conspire a plan to get Sesshomaru's mind off of visiting Rin. She thought about Sesshomaru's mother, Inukimi.
Hanami suggested they go visit his mother and talk about the wedding. Sesshomaru tells her he was not going to visit her, but she could. She nodded and bowed and flew to go see Inukimi.
"What brings this visit, we have no reason to discuss the wedding up until you both go into heat" Inukimi says.
"My lady, I came to ask a favor of you" Hanami says.

"You do know of Sesshomaru's ward, Rin".

Within the next couple days, Inukimi sent one of her minions to give word to Sesshomaru and Hanami that there was an urgent matter and they needed to find a fugitive. They that didn't exist, but she made it look urgent. For three years, Sesshomaru dedicated himself looking an enemy that did not exist. Inukimi would have her minions leave little clues here and there and he would think he was closer to catching whomever it was.

They arrive at the village and Inuyasha immediately sniffs him out and comes running towards him, "Sesshomaru, you dare step back in this village!"

"Just because I do not show my face within a couple years, you want to attack me. Get out of my way Inuyasha".

"What is the meaning of all this noise" says another voice.
Sesshomaru looks up and Inuyasha turns around, it was Kaede.
"Sesshomaru, why are you here, to place harm on Rin again? She respected you, and you betrayed her. You dare come show your face in this village".
"I am getting sick and tired of you people", he says as he elongates his nails.

"Rin you have grown; I did not realize that time would past so fast. I was busy scouting lands for an enemy and time took over".
She just looks at him and says, "Why have you come?"
Sesshomaru hears the voice that sung music to his ears, her voice has changed, it still had its innocence, but it was different, just a tad deeper.
"You are in on this too, what is going on with you people?"
Inuyasha goes to say something, but Rin stops him and motions Sesshomaru to follow her.
They go to the clearing they always spent their time at. She stops, turns, and looks to him.

"After you came and gave me the necklace, you called me out to this place. You snatched away my necklace and told me you changed your mind about giving it to me as I do not deserve it. I begged and pleaded with you because I did not know what would change your mind about me after all this time. I tried to run to you and embrace you and plead for you to change your mind, but you struck me. You also mention that Hanami did not like me, so you were only following her lead and I will never see you again".
Sesshomaru is in a trance as he is hearing Rin say these words.

They all looked at each other and wondered who that could be. "Hanami will be first to go as she is the one that had to hire the shapeshifter. Everything after has everything to do with my mother".

"Rin you will stay here; I know an eye will be kept on you" he says as he glares at everyone. "I will be back for you and this time I will be coming back".
