Laxus laid sprawled across his mighty throne, in a bored manner as any spoiled king. He was the king of all gods and yet somedays Mira had to really smack him around to make him act like the king he was born to be. It seemed Laxus grew bored of his role over the many eons. In the many eons the gods have ruled over the humans and over centuries their names have changed. Most humans knew them by their Greek god's name. Laxus was known as Zeus for many eons and Mira was known as Hera.
Laxus had his headphones on and plugged into the newest iPod. He marveled at what humans have created. They just kept creating new inventions every time he blinked it seemed. He liked to stayed informed in what humans were doing with the world.
"Laxus!" He heard Mira shout.
"What?" He groaned looking up from his iPod as he had been scrolling through the thousands of songs he had on his favorite little device.
"Pay attention. Your brother is here to speak with you of a grievance he has."
He sighed and sat up a little bit and looking at Gajeel. "Ah Gajeel what a not so pleasant surprise to see you up here. What brings the king of the underworld to my doorstep?" He asked with a slight smirk. He enjoyed pissing off his brooding brother.
Gajeel just glared at him and then crossed his arms over his chest, "I see that you are hard at work as always."
"Of course. I am studying the human's creations and the advancement of music and technology." Laxus said and out of the corner of his eye he saw Mira shake her head and roll her eyes. He narrowed his eyes on her.
Gajeel snorted knowing the lie when he heard it. "Of course." He said in agreement even though he knew his brother was full of shit.
Laxus heard the condescending tone in his voice and glared at him, "What is it you are here for brother?" He sneered, "Don't you have sinners to torture?"
"Trust me brother I would like to have a relaxing evening torturing to my hearts content but we have a serious problem."
Laxus sighed again and laid back in his chair. "And what is this so-called problem?"
"The resurrection jewel has been stolen." Gajeel waited for Laxus reaction but he was given none. Gajeel clenched his hands into tight fists in anger at Laxus's boredom. Laxus had looked back down at his iPod and went back to scrolling. Gajeel was just about ready to take his little toy out of his hands and turn it into dust.
"Laxus!" Mira snapped again giving him a scolding look. "Don't you have anything to say?"
He huffed out a breath, "Like what? Why does this even concern me? I don't care about some jewel."
"Some jewel?" Gajeel yelled, "This jewel can resurrect someone and bring them back from the brink of death! Long ago we all agreed that this jewel was too dangerous to fall into any human or god's hands."
Laxus finally looked at him, "So? Then why did you allow it to be stolen?" He asked frowning.
"Me? The jewel was supposed to be locked away in Olympus for safe keeping. We all agreed ages ago that the jewel was too dangerous to fall into any human's or god's hands."
Laxus looked at him bored," Why was that again"
Gajeel clenched his jaw, "I swear to the god's!" He yelled losing his temper. "Did you somehow lose your memory of the last few centuries?!"
Mira sighed and gave Gajeel a sweet little smile that unnerved him just a little bit because Mira could be scary when she wanted to be. Then she turned her now evil smile to Laxus. "Laxus if you don't start taking this conversation more seriously, I will have to wait until you sleep and rip your cock off and shove down your throat, okay?" She added with a little giggle at the end.
Laxus's eyes widened at his wife's very real threat. She was small but she was a complete psychopath. He nodded and swallowed nervously and then slowly sat up straight and he even put his iPod down.
Gajeel just starred at Mira for a moment in wonder. It was too bad she was Laxus's wife he could use a ruthless queen for the underworld. She was wasted on such a spoiled king but at least she could manage him. Gajeel cleared his throat to break up some of the tension.
"Anyways we hid it so no one could ever use it. This jewel will tamper with the natural order of the world."
"Would it be so bad? We have an over abundance of humans in this world already." Laxus said.
"Yes, it would be. We can't have humans thinking they can escape death. Our world would fall into chaos."
Laxus sighed and nodded, "Fair enough. Fine so do we have any suspects for who stole the jewel of resurrection?"
"It was Demeter." Gajeel said.
"Demeter? Oh, right I believe she goes by Evergreen now." He tapped his finger against the side of his head. Why would Evergreen steal the jewel?"
Gajeel looked away and ran a hand along the back of his neck sheepishly, "Well we still have that age old feud going…"
Laxus couldn't help but laugh, "Still?"
"Yes dammit. She really likes to hold a grudge."
Mira blinked and looked between the two, "What was it you did that angered her?"
"Yes, Gajeel what was it you did again?" The bastard that he had no choice but to call his brother asked while grinning.
"I accidently killed her harvest."
"Oh no. You see Mira not only did he kill the harvest that she had been growing for over a thousand years but he had made it so that she never would bare another child."
Mira gasped and looked at him in horror, "You made her infertile? Gajeel how could you?!"
"It was an accident!" He snapped.
"How do you accidently make someone infertile."
Gajeel really didn't want to have this conversation, "I possessed the power to take away a women's ability to bare children. At the time I didn't realize I could do this. Now she is bitter and childless."
Mira shook her head, "Something is wrong with your story Gajeel. Evergreen had a child."
"Mira you must be mistaken. It cannot happen for her."
"Of course, it can and it did. She had a daughter. Persephone. She just recently turned twenty-one."
Gajeel looked at her in shock, "You are certain of this?" He asked.
"Yes. Who do you think is godmother to her child?" Mira said proudly.
Gajeel snarled, "That bitch! All this time she deceived me! She will pay for this."
Laxus looked pretty entertained, "Oh and just what will you do?"
Gajeel looked at Laxus with such a murderous expression, "I will take the one thing she treasures most in this world. Her daughter."
Then Gajeel blinked out of Olympus the last thing he saw before he disappeared was Mira's horrified expression at his plan.
