The end already? Yes, this is the final chapter for this story (it surprised me too when I went to upload)! Before you ask, I have no present plans for a sequel, though I feel like this story could have gone on for a while longer and I did leave an opening, in case it gives any of you an idea for your own story. Thank you for coming back every week to read the updates and I hope you enjoy this last chapter.

In the previous chapter, we saw the family enjoying their summer break. While at the park, they observed a proposal which Dani had many questions about. This leads to Sam's anxiety striking back up, and hard. She spent so much of her youth longing to be with Danny, only to spend so much of her early adulthood lonely and depressed without him, that she fears spending any time visualizing a future with Danny-even though she really, really, really wants a future with him. Sam feels the panic attack coming on and is able to manage it somewhat with skills Jazz has helped her with, but pushing this off would not work for long and eventually Sam gives up on pretending. Screw the pills; Sam is in love with Danny and she's going to tell him and have to deal with the consequences that follow. And what followed was a proposal.

Chapter 28: Epilogue

Amity Park Indoor Rose Garden

October 11th, the following year

2:00 pm

Glasses clicked for the umpteenth time that afternoon, but unlike earlier this wasn't meant for a kiss. Rather it was meant to draw attention to the beautiful woman in grey standing behind the microphone, ready to give a speech. Her guests settled down quietly and she held her own glass filled with water as she began to say, "I wanted to take this time to thank every one of you for joining us on this special occasion.

"I want to thank my parents for helping put together this beautiful, romantic ceremony and delicious meal we're all sharing here now. I don't know if I would have been able to put this all together without your guidance," she paused for some light applause. "I want to thank my new in-laws for always welcoming me into their home. It seems as though we've been family for years and I'm so excited and thankful to be able to continue to be a part of our growing family," again she paused for more shared applause.

It was midday and the sun was shining in through the large floor to ceiling windows, the breeze fluttering in through the open doors from the garden outside. Sam was standing in her wedding dress, grey because she didn't think white would look very good on her naturally pale skin, and her purple lipstick was bright as she smiled at those before her. Her parents were seated at the front along with other family who travelled in, and the Fentons were seated at the table besides them with their close family. She then turned to the bridal party to spot another young family to thank, "I want to thank Jazz and Tucker and their handsome son for their roles in our bridal party. You kept us calm and collected and never missed a chance to remind us how much we appreciate having you in our lives. Tucker has been our best friend since we were young and Jazz, I know you always wanted a sister."

Laughter was light and contagious as she turned to the next member seated at the table. Here Sam had to hold back a tear, "Danny, I want to thank you for having patience with me. As the town has always known, I've loved you for a very long time and I couldn't imagine a better life without you by my side. I am so excited to see what the future holds for our family." Danny blushed at the praise but smiled nonetheless, mouthing the words 'I love you' back when she sent a kiss flying his way.

Then Sam turned entirely to face the last member at their head table to say, "Danielle, I want to give you a special thank you. I want to thank you for bringing back joy and love into my life. Without you I don't know if I would have ever found my way home. I am thankful to have you as my daughter and my best friend, and I don't ever want you to forget that not only is Danielle Phantom a hero, but so is Danielle Fenton. She's my hero."

The applause was loud as Sam set the microphone back on its stand and went to embrace her husband and her daughter, who also wore matching grey outfits. Sam could not stop the smile that found permanent residence on her face. She smiled throughout the lunch, during the father-daughter dance, during her and Danny's first dance together, heck she even smiled when she saw the ghost sense pop out from her halfas' mouths. Nothing could ruin this day and she was too stubborn to think otherwise.

Besides, it was only Clockwork, and the family excused themselves to speak with him privately. "Clockwork, thank you for joining us today."

Clockwork gave a smile to Samantha, happy that the timeline had found a way to correct itself of what could have been. The wise elder had always had a soft spot for the trio. "Thank you Samantha. I've only come to congratulate the two of you on your harmonious ceremony. As Daniel's mentor, I have also come bearing gifts."

As Clockwork changed into a young lad the puffs of blue smoke beside him dissipated to show a small sand timer, the kind where you flip it over and wait until the blue sand drops one grain at a time until the bottom is full again. "You brought my parents a timer?" Dani asked, confused. She understood he was the Master of Time but you'd think he would have gifted something a little less...morbid.

He chuckled, floating the timer between the newly married couple and explained, "This isn't just any timer. This is a magic timer. Flip it over whenever you need an extra minute, for it will slow time ever slightly for you."

Dani was much more interested in the gift now, but Danny was furthermore suspicious. "Is there a reason we might need some extra time on our hands?"

Sam looked in curiosity between the gift and the ghost. As almighty a gift this may be, it had to come with a story but she was satisfied for now at the answer they received. "You may relax Daniel, for there is no specific event I have in mind for this. As with any life, yours will come with plenty more ups and downs, adventures, and time will slip away as it always does with age. I have chosen to gift this to you as a means of extending grace. If anyone is deserving of such extra time it surely is the three of you.

"Though I am a passive time guardian I have never seen quite the amazing feats you have all had to overcome, and to be as selfless as you all are is nothing to take for granted. If not for you three, your sister, and your best friend, the timeline would not have been strong enough to correct itself. Thus I have elected to give you a small part of it in gratitude for your thankless feats.

"Be warned that it is not something to play with irresponsibly, but rather a key you have unlocked so deservingly," and with that Clockwork was a strong adult and summoning his clock portal to disappear back into the Ghost Zone with a wink. The small family looked to each other unbelieving that there wasn't more ahead for them, but so long as they had each other they knew they would find a way through.

Nothing, not even time, could dampen their love for one another.
