CH 162
The colonel notices the shocked look on the lieutenant and other guy's faces. Since they are all new there, they were even more shocked when they heard who Sam is and when she removed the black bag from her dress blues, they were even more shocked when they saw the metals that she got.
"Well I'll leave you to get change, I got flying in ten minutes, take care"
"Will do and have fun"
"Always do when I'm flying"
"Ah ha" she said smiling then he turned and walked out of the locker room.
Sam finish getting change and put everything into her locker and close it after she pick up her bag and hat, then she close and lock it then she turn to see the guys looking at her
"What"
"Your thee Dr Samantha Carter the one who saw the West Coast few years ago" one of them asked
"Yep" the she turn to the stock lieutenant
"Lieutenant cause now you know who I am, you can take this plate and mug back to the mess hall and next time if someone comes in here look at the name tag before opening mouth"
"Yes captain… ma'am, sorry I didn't know"
"Now you know" then she turn and walk out of the locker room when she heard
"Wow man you lucky she didn't kick your ass" one guy said
"Why I can kick hers after all I'm black belt in karate"
"So is she, and in three other martial arts. Four times Colorado state karate champion, two times US taekwondo champion and level five in hand to hand"
"Blood hell she sounds like a lethal weapon"
"She is and I have seen her moves, she fast"
"Really"
"Trust me, you don't want to mess with her"
"Sounds like it" Sam walked away smiling.
When she walks outside a limo pulls up and the back door opens and head sticks out. When Sam saw who it was, she smiles and walked over and got in and closes the door
"Morning General"
"Morning Captain, here is the file I want you to read"
He passes Sam a file as she sits back and relaxes. She opens it and reads what is in it. The general looked at Sam's face as she read what was there. By the time the limo stop at the pentagon, Sam close the file and pass it back to the general
"Well we better go inside and talk sir" he nodded.
They both got out and walked inside. Few minutes later they walk into the briefing room to where the other top brass is.
"Captain Carter thank you for coming on short notice"
"It's ok in general… it was my day off sir"
"Well thank you, please take a seat" They all sat down around the table.
"Captain, have you read the report on the way here?"
"Yes sir, General Ryan gave me the file soon as I was I the limo"
"What is your opinion on the findings"
"Shock sir, now we know that it was Iran who was behind the attempted bombing not the Russians even though they hired some x-KGB to carry out the drop. Since their first plan has failed… they might try again, question is where and when"
"Any idea why they are attacking us?" Sam through about it
"Cold war"
"Captain" they look at her
"The cold war sir my best guest is they not happy that the US is involved with their war"
"We think so to"
"Well I think we should pull our men and women out"
"What about our allies"
"Well if we pulled out say ten percent for starts, I think Iran might back off and who knows peace"
"It might work, then again…"
"There is only one way to find out sir" Sam said they talk for the next two hours before they stop for a break.
Sam walked down to the women's bathroom so she could relieve herself, then returned where she got herself a cup of coffee and a couple of club sandwiches. She talks to a couple of generals for a few minutes before she walks back over to the table and opens the file again and reread it while drinking her coffee. She was reading for ten minutes then frond. General Ryan walked over to Sam when he saw the look on her face
"Captain, what is it?"
"There was one thing that was puzzling me, where the hell did Iran get hold of a nuclear bomb, some one must of notice one of their bombs was missing" Sam look at the general
"We don't know, we contacted all our allies since this happen, they check their bombs, they still got there"
"So it must be from one of the other countries, question is who"
"I don't know"
"I think the best thing to do is try to contact them and ask them if one of those country bomb is missing and only just the one then we are safe for now, If there is more than one… then we got problems"
"I'll go and make some calls… Can you stay a bit longer?"
"Sure so long and I'm back at Andrews by fifteen hundred sir"
"I understand" then he walk out of the room.
Sam spoke to the other generals for the next hour. Sam was outside in the corridor looking out the window thinking about what has been happening in the past few hours till she heard footsteps and voices. She recognises one of them as her father.
When they got close, she turned to them and saluted them, which they did in return. Sam looked at her father, which he did in return, then he and another general carried on walking. Sam turned and watched them till they walked around the corner and were gone. She turn and look out the window till she heard a door open behind her, so she turn around
"General"
"We got good news" Sam walked over and into the briefing room to see the others sitting around the table.
"Thanks to Captain Carter's idea, I made some personal calls. One of north Korea's nuclear bombs went missing two weeks before Captain Carter dropped it off the ocean floor. None of the other countries have lost any, so we are safe… for now" they all relax.
They talk for the next two hours then they have a late lunch then talk some more about Sam's idea of pulling out ten percent of men and women from the cold war and which ones will be the best. They stop two hours later since they forgot about time since Sam had to fly back to Colorado Springs. They all thank her for their help and General Ryan got a helicopter to take Sam from the pentagon to Andrew air force base where she got changed and called Jack.
"Hello"
"Hey it me, I'm going to be late I'm still at Andrews"
"What, what happen"
"I'll tell you later, ok, I'll be in the air in couple of minutes"
"Ok Sam see you when you get back"
"Love you"
"Love you to Sam" then they both hung up.
Sam picks up her helmet and walks out to where her jet is and climbs up and gets in and puts her helmet on then her safety belts before starting up the engines. Couple minutes later she was in the air and on her way home. When Sam landed her plane it was after five thirty in the evening.
When she got out of her plane she headed straight to the locker room, when she opened the door, she smiled when she saw Jack they're waiting for her. She walked in and closed the door behind her then walked over and gave him a hug and kiss.
"Jack, what are you doing here?"
"I brought your dress here since you wouldn't have time to go home" she gave him a kiss
"Thank you" then she started taking her clothes off
"How did the meeting go"
"Good I found out a few things which was shocking"
"Can you tell me" Sam looks at him
"It was Iran who was behind the bomb"
"Iran, I through it was the Russians"
"It was x-KGB, they were being paid big money to deliver it"
"Ah so what else was there?" Sam told Jack about the meetings since he got full clearance with what Sam does.
By the time she finishes, she is dressed and she puts on some eyeliner, eye shadow and lipstick. When finish she looked at Jack
"Shall we go and party" he stood up and gave her a kiss
"Sure, let's go" they walked out to Sam wagon and got in.
Jack drives them to the restaurant where they were meeting the others for dinner. Jack told Sam that he showed up by taxi so they could leave from the base to the restaurant in town. When they pulled up outside the restaurant it was almost six thirty. They were half an hour late since they were diverted five times because of road accidents.
Lucky Jack brought Sam her cell phone with him, so she called the restaurant and spoke to Carol to let her know that they were going to be late, which she understands. They both got out and walked inside where it was warm since it was still cold outside from the snow. When they walk in side, General Hammond was there to great them
"Jack Sam I'm please you made it here"
"Sorry we were late sir" Jack said
"Jack call me George for tonight and tomorrow we not on base"
"Yes sir… George" Sam gave him a hug
"Is everyone else here Uncle George?"
"Yes, come on" They follow George down to where the private room is and walk into the room.
Everyone was pleased to see them arrive safe and sound. Jack and Sam walk down to the end of the table and sit down. Then General Hammond said a small speech then dinner was served. They all talk while enjoying their dinner over the next four hours.
At the end of the evening every one left to go home since the next day is going to be a busy day for them all. When Jack and Sam got home, they went straight to bed since Sam was tired since she was up very early that morning. Once they were in bed they both kissed and snuggled in each other's arms and fell asleep.
The next morning Jack woke up, he opened his eyes to see Sam was still sleeping, he looked over at the clock to see it was almost eight in the morning. So he slowly got out of bed without waking Sam up and put on a robe and walked down stairs just as a van pulled up, Jack knew it was the florist.
The day before he went to the florist in town and ordered three dozen long stem red roses for Sam. He asked them to be delved at eight. Jack opened the door to see a guy holding the roses. He passes a board to Jack which he signs and passes it back, then the guy looks at it then passes the roses to Jack then leaves.
Jack closed the door and walked into the kitchen and got Sam's favourite vase out and filled it with water then he put the roses in it. He smiled at them and smelled one of them, then he heard a car slowing down and turning down his driveway so he walked to the door to see who it was.
When he saw a woman getting out of the car with a bag in hand Jack knew it was the French pastries and cinnamon donuts that he ordered yesterday at a bakery, when he asked them if they would deliver. The women said no so he asked the women if they could and he would pay for the order and five hundred dollars if they would be delivered at sustain time the next morning.
The woman smiled and told Jack that she would personally deliver them herself so Jack paid for the pastries and the extra five hundred-dollar. Then he gave the women his home address and what time to deliver before walking out of the shop with his bag of two slices of cake in hand. When the women was close to the door, Jack open it with a smile
"Here you go Mr O'Neill, I hope your wife would like these"
"She loves them, it been a while since she brought these"
"Ah, well I hope you both will enjoy them"
"We will and thank you for delving them"
"Your welcome" then she turns and walks back to her car while Jack closes and locks the door.
Then he walked back into the kitchen and grabbed two bottles of orange juice and the roses. Then he walked back up to their bedroom and walked inside to see Sam was still sleeping. Jack put the roses up on to Sam dresser then he walked over and put the bag and two bottles of juice down on the bedside cabinet then he walked into the bathroom so he could relieve himself and wash his hands before walking back to the bedroom taking his robe off and crawling back into bed. Just as he snuggled up to Sam she open her eyes and smile
"Morning" he said
"Morning"
Sam wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him down for a passionate kiss, then they made love with Jack collapsing on top of Sam afterwards. Then he moves so he could look at her
"Happy Valentines Day Sam"
"Happy Valentines Day Jack" then they both kiss
"Hungry"
"Ah ha"
"Good"
Then he rolled off Sam and sat up, he made the extra pillows float over to him, then he put them behind Sam who sat up then himself. He turned and picked up two bottles and the bag and turned around and showed Sam. When Sam saw the writing on the bag, her smile widened. He puts the bag down between them and passes Sam her orange juice.
"Thank you Jack"
"Your welcome"
They open their drink and drink some of it then Jack opens the bag and pulls two bags out, he passes one to Sam then he pulls his doughnut out and starts eating it while watching Sam enjoy eating hers. Sam looked in the bag and pulled out paper napkins after she put her drink down on her lap. She passes couple to Jack
"Thanks"
"What else did you get us?"
"You will find out soon," he said smiling.
Sam rest her head on his shoulders then lifted it when she saw the roses, then she turn to Jack
"Thank you for the roses Jack"
"Your welcome Sam"
"I got something for you"
"Oh"
Then the walk in closet door opened and a big box came floating out and onto the bed. By that time Jack finished his doughnut. He rips the paper off and his eyes widen. Inside was heart shaped truffles chocolates with 'J&S' done in white chocolate. The box was a fifty-centimetre heart shape and two inches thick. He turn to Sam who was looking at him
"Sam where did you get these from"
"I'm not saying, I know it's been years since you last had these, so are you happy?"
"Yes, I am, thank you Sam" he put his arm around her shoulder and gave her a kiss
"Thank you, you sure can be full of surprises"
"Thanks, so what else have you got in the bag?" He smiled and gave her a kiss.
Then he pulled out two bags and passed one to Sam. They both talk while enjoying breakfast in bed. When they finish their breakfast, they lean back and relax
"Jack thank for the surprise breakfast"
"Your welcome Sam" Sam turn and look at the clock then back to Jack
"I better get up taxi will be here soon"
"I know, I'll be looking ford to seeing you in another bridesmaid dress" Sam smile
"I know you are Jack"
Then she leaned over and gave him a kiss before getting out of bed and walking into the bathroom where she had a quick shower.
