So this was going to be a big story but I decided to make it more of a one-shot and the plot will be used for something else at some point. Not going to spoil anything though. But this one will be one featuring Jaune and him coping with Pyrrha's death, apologizing to the others, and Oscar for his behavior earlier. So I hope you all enjoy it :)

So I heard Volume 9 got delayed till next year. I'm a bit peeved, but then again, it does make sense for her to make sure everything is all good, editing and otherwise...can't wait to see what's in store for the ones who fell in the void.

Anyways..let's get right to the one-shot.

RWBY belongs to Rooster Teeth and Monty Oum (R.I.P.)

Saphron Cotta-Arc's Apartment

Jaune Arc was now sitting outside breathing inwardly and out. After talking with that mysterious woman from before and reuniting with Oscar Pine earlier, he was now fully ready to move on from Pyrrha Nikos's death and let go of his anger.

"I need to apologize to Oscar...to everybody." Jaune thought as he got up and went inside. When he did he saw RWBY, Lie Ren, Nora Valkyrie, and Oscar all sitting down and talking amongst themselves. Jaune gave a knock on the wall to get everyone's attention.

"Hey, Fearless Leader!" Nora said with a big smile on her face. Ren gave him a small smile and nodded and Ruby waved at him.

"Hey, guys…" Jaune said as he walked over closer to them, they could see that something was bothering him and got a bit concerned.

"Jaune, are you ok?" Ruby Rose asked him with worry.

Jaune put his hands up to silence her. "Yea, I'm fine Ruby, I just...need to say something...to all of you." He said, he took a big breath and kept calm. "I just….I want to apologize, to all of you, for how I acted earlier..it's just...with what we heard, that this witch can't be killed...I just...I guess I was angry because it felt like all we were doing at Beacon, was prepping up for a war we didn't even sign up for."

Jaune sighed a bit before turning to Oscar. "Oscar, I want to apologize to you for how I acted...I was just so mad at Ozpin for keeping the secrets that I...I just lost my temper and fully accused you...You didn't deserve it, and I know you can't forgive me, nor do you want to….but I just want to apologize."

Oscar was listening fully and sighed. "Don't worry about it, I mean I was a bit scared, but I understand why you were so mad." Oscar sighed a bit. "I never wanted to do this….I never did." He said as he looked down to see the cane he was holding in his hands. But then he felt a gentle squeeze on his shoulder and turned to see Ruby smiling at him.

"Well you're with us, so we will be here to help you out." She said with a smile, Oscar smiled back and nodded his head.

Jaune saw and smiled before turning to everyone else. "I also want to apologize to the rest of you. Nora, Ren, I'm sorry for not being a good enough leader for you guys. I was so angry and caught in my self-pity, that i...I...

"Jaune," Ren said to him. "As we said to you back at the statue, this needs to stop." He said firmly to his leader.

"And remember what we said to you back there as well," Nora said to him as she went up to him and grabbed his hand and held it tightly. "We're teammates...family." She said to him, "And we don't want to lose you just like we lost Pyrrha." She said,

As Nora said this, Team RWBY and Oscar looked at them, the former were surprised but Cruise and Oscar were a bit confused.

"Nora?" Weiss Schnee said to them. "What does he mean?" She asked. As soon as she asked then, Nora, who was holding up until now had to hold back a choked sob a bit as she still held onto Jaune.

Ren, who was keeping his emotions intact, answered rhythmically. "Nearby...there's a statue of Pyrrha in the park nearby." He said, prompting gasps from RWBY. "I and Nora found Jaune there as we were coming back with some drinks." He said to them all. "And I'm pretty sure some of you heard what Jaune said to Cinder at Haven…" He asked. RWBY did a bit but Blake was confused a bit, but still worried though.

"I said that I was going to make her pay for what they did," Jaune said in a dark tone of voice. "She took away the one person who believed in me….and as a partner...I felt it was my job to take her down...but I let my anger get the best of me and she was right there…..I said 'If I die buying them time, then it's worth it. They're the ones who matter.'" He said to them as he took a big breath.

Everyone was silent for a moment, Ren and Nora understood why he said it, but RWBY? Well. Ruby walked right up to him.

SLAP

Jaune felt the hand slap on his face, and he grabbed the stinging part, he turned to see an angry Ruby Rose looking right at him.

"How could you…." She said in a whispering voice before she then began to pound her fists into his chest plate. "HOW COULD YOU SAY SUCH A THING! YOU THINK YOU DON'T MATTER TO US?! YOU MATTER A LOT, YOU IDIOT!"

"I DON'T FEEL LIKE I DO!" Jaune yelled back at her, making her stop pounding and walk back a bit. "You're all so amazing, you all got cool Semblances and cool weapons, what do I have? Nothing!" He said as he then stopped to take a breather before speaking again, this time, a bit more calmly. "At Beacon...I knew I wasn't as strong as the rest of you, I wanted to get on your guy's level...and when Pyrrha shoved me into that locker….it felt horrible." He said.

"And then when me, Nora, and Ren followed you to Haven," Jaune said again. "I swore to never let you all down or die….I didn't care about me, all that mattered was you all getting out there alive." Jaune said to them all. "I just….after Pyrrha died...I felt so weak because I wasn't there to save her or anything...I tried to stop her...but she went on ahead...and she sent me away in a locker."

He then kept on looking down as everyone gave him concerned looks. "I just….felt like since it was my responsibility now….I don't want to lose anyone else...and I was ready to die just for you all to escape." He said as he finally calmed down a bit and explained his reasons. "I mean I know I found my Semblance...and I used it to save Weiss, and I'm happy about it….but I just felt like you all matter more than me." He said to them,

But then he felt something, and he saw that Ruby had hugged him again, and she wasn't the only one either. Weiss hugged him as she wrapped an arm around Ruby, Blake entered and hugged Jaune from behind, and Yang joined in as she hugged him as well, then Nora glomped in the hug and Ren simply walked up and placed a reassuring pat on his leader's shoulder, the hug broke up as everyone looked at him.

"Jaune, you're my best guy friend, you're important to me, just like everyone else is here." She said to him, "I can't imagine you dying, I mean I know we could all die off in this fight with Salem….but we can't give up, we got to keep on going...and I want you there with me." She said to him,

Weiss was next. "Everyone here….is really close to me, and that includes you too. If you need someone to talk to, we're all right here, you dolt." She said to him as she gave him a reassuring look. "And I want to thank you for saving my life...I truly mean it."

Blake took hold of his hand and squeezed it a bit. "You're one of the many people who don't mind me being a Faunus...I know I ran away from everyone at Beacon...but I'm here now, and that means I'm here for you as well." She said to him,

Yang then rested her elbow on his right shoulder (the one without the armor guards) "Vom-Jaune." Yang said, trying to stop herself from using his nickname. "I know I sometimes give you a hard time, but I care about my friends a lot, and that includes you as well, you dork. You're important to everyone...even me" She said to him.

Nora then hugged him from behind. "Ever since Beacon….you've been like my brother...and I don't want to lose you just like we lost Pyrrha...I love you Jauney…" Nora said with a small tear down her eye.

Ren kept a calm smile as he patted Jaune on the shoulder. "You're like a brother to me and one of the most important figures to me and Nora, and you're our leader...whatever you have issues to talk to...don't ever forget that I'm here."

Jaune looked around him, he finally understood that no matter what, he had all of his friends with him, none of them will ever leave him, none of them will ever betray him. No...they will always remain by his side. He then thought of Pyrrha again, of how he would've loved to have her here with them all.

Pyrrha….Jaune then closed his eyes and breathed gently. He knew that his self-pity had gone on long enough. It was time….time to let go of it...and move on. After all, it's what Pyrrha would've wanted for him to do.

Jaune then smiled a bit as more tears came from his eyes. "Thank you...all of you." He said as Nora, Ren, and RWBY all got closer for a group hug. Oscar looked off to the side and smiled a bit. Jaune then looked towards him, and so did the rest. "And again Oscar, I'm sorry for losing my temper at you.

Oscar smiled. "It's totally fine, Jaune. I forgive you." the former farmhand said, but then he felt Nora grab his arm and glomp him into the group.

"You're part of the family of cute little boy Oz!" Nora said with a big smile on her face.

"Will you stop calling me that?" Oscar asked with aggravation, making the others laugh or chuckle a bit. Making the boy sigh a bit as he smiled along with them.

Jaune then looked to a nearby window to see Pyrrha's reflection. "Thank you…" He thought as a tear went down his eye. "For believing me….and for being an amazing partner." He then looked around to see the others still in a group hug (with Oscar now joining in) and smiled. "And thank you all...for being my friends." He said as he then one last image in his mind, an image of Pyrrha smiling at him.

As they all kept hugging, if one could look, a simple maple leaf could be shown blowing right beside them all.
