A/N: Hello everyone, and welcome to chapter twenty-seven of this story. Here, Lori tried to make amends with Bobby and attempts to regain her entry into Fairway University.
Disclaimer: I don't own the Loud House
Lori was pacing nervously in her room. She had not been punished for what she did to Nathaniel as he was the aggression. What she was anxious about, was the phone call to Bobby she was about to make.
"I feel like I'm going to literally puke." said Lori.
"It'll be fine. Bobby and you are, like, soulmates." said Leni.
Leni sat on her bed having moved back in.
"What would you do in my situation?" asked Lori.
"Your what?" asked Leni confused.
"If you were me." answered Lori.
"Like, are we switching places?" asked Leni.
Lori took a deep breath and managed to calm herself down.
"Never mind." said Lori.
"Like, If I had to do this, I'd be nervous. But I know he loved me enough to work this out." stated Leni.
Lori was unsure what to say next.
"Thanks." said Lori.
Lori pulled up Bobby in her contacts.
"I can do this. I can do this." whispered Lori.
Lori hovered her finger over the call button.
"I..." began Lori.
Lori started to feel queasy.
"You got this." said Leni.
Lori nodded and hit call.
"Here goes nothing." muttered Lori.
The phone rang and rang and rang for what seemed like eternity.
("Lori.") said Carlota.
"Hi, I wanted to speak to Bobby." noted Lori.
("He's in the kitchen, but he left his phone on the nightstand in his room. I was coming out of the bathroom and heard it ringing.") explained Carlota.
"At least he didn't pass it off to someone." whispered Lori.
Lori heard Carlota call for her cousin.
("We heard what happen. Are you okay?") asked Carlota concerned.
"Yeah. I'm back home now. " answered Lori.
Lori heard Carlota say something and heard her leaving.
("Hi Lori.") said Bobby.
"Hello." replied Lori awkwardly.
("So, Carlota told me your home now.") noted Bobby.
"Yeah. It's nice to be back." said Lori.
("I heard what happened.") revealed Bobby.
"I'm okay. Got banged up, but I'm off the booze now." replied Lori.
("That's good to hear.") said Bobby relieved.
Lori took a deep breath.
"Bobby, we need to talk about us..." began Lori.
("Yeah, we do.") agreed Bobby.
"I know there's nothing I can do to make up for what I did." stated Lori.
("That felt like a knife through the heart.") said Bobby flatly.
"I understand you're mad..." began Lori.
("I'm not mad.") stated Bobby.
"You're not mad?" asked Lori surprised.
("I'm hurt. I've never been hurt that badly.") answered Bobby.
Lori winced in guilt.
("How can I trust you again?") asked Bobby.
"I..." began Lori.
Lori frantically searched for an answer.
"I don't know." admitted Lori.
("That's a big problem.") noted Bobby.
"I know." sighed Lori.
("So...what do we do?") asked Bobby.
"I'm not drinking anymore so that will never happen again!" declared Lori emotionally.
("What if you start drinking again?") asked Bobby.
"I won't!" exclaimed Lori.
("Once trust is broken, it's hard to rebuild.") noted Bobby.
Lori felt her heart aching.
("I want to get back together.") revealed Bobby.
"So do I!" cried Lori hopefully.
("We need time apart.") said Bobby.
"That sounds familiar." said Lori sadly.
("I'm not breaking up with you.") replied Bobby.
"Didn't you already do that?" asked Lori flatly.
("I was angry.") answered Bobby.
"So much for just being hurt." mused Lori.
("Finding out...that really hurt and stirred up a bunch of feelings.") explained Bobby.
Lori thought for a moment.
"I have an idea." said Lori.
("Go ahead.") said Bobby curious.
"Date someone else." said Lori.
Bobby didn't know how to react.
"I know it sounds crazy, but a trail separation could be good." said Lori.
("I'm not doing that.") stated Bobby.
"Then, maybe we should break up." sighed Lori.
("You're just giving up?") asked Bobby surprised.
"Maybe we're just not meant to be. There's no point in being together if we're going to end up distrusting each other." answered Lori.
Silence followed.
("I think you're right.") sighed Bobby.
"Goodbye then." said Lori mournfully.
Lori hung up.
"It's really over." mused Lori.
Lori dropped her phone and began to sob.
"Even the car accident didn't hurt this much." said Lori.
Lori need an escape and she got an idea.
"It's not rum, but it'll work." decided Lori.
Lori went into the bathroom and grabbed the mouthwash. She rushed back to her room.
"Let's hope you can get drunk off this." said Lori.
Lori opened the mouthwash and began to chug it until she had to come up for air.
"This is horrible." stated Lori.
A knock came on the door and Luna popped her head in.
"We're headed to Fairway soon." noted Luna.
Luna saw the mouthwash.
"Please tell me this isn't what I think it is." requested Luna worried.
"Bobby and I broke up. I need to feel better." revealed Lori numbly.
Luna raced over and pulled the mouthwash away.
"Lori, you cannot relapse!" declared Luna.
"It's only mouthwash." noted Lori.
"You're still trying to get drunk." said Luna.
"I need it." stated Lori.
"No, you don't!" snapped Luna.
"You've never been in my position." said Lori sadly.
"Yes, I have." answered Luna.
"You are Sam are still together!" cried Lori.
"But I know temptation." said Luna.
Luna sat down.
"A few months ago, The Moon Goats had a gig and smelled something delicious. There was Hunter's chicken." began Luna.
"So?" asked Lori.
"Hunter's chicken has alcohol in it." answered Luna.
Lori understood now.
"There were bottles of white wine, brandy and vermouth in the open and it took everything for me not to grab them." explained Luna.
"What did you do?" asked Lori.
"I called by AA sponsor Crystal." answered Luna.
"Well, I'm not an alcoholic." stated Lori.
"Yes...you...are." said Luna firmly.
Lori remained silent.
"Accepting you have a problem is the first step." noted Luna.
"But..." began Lori.
"You became an aggressive drunk who lashed out your family." began Luna.
"I..." stammered Lori.
"You jerked a stranger off ruining your relationship." continued Luna.
Lori again stayed silent.
"You posed nude and those pictures are online." continued Luna.
Lori hung her head in shame.
"You nearly killed yourself in a car wreck." concluded Luna.
"I'm an alcoholic." sighed Lori.
Luna hugged Lori.
"You've started your healing." whispered Luna.
The two sisters headed downstairs and outside to see a new van.
"Nice van popstar." said Luna impressed.
"It's no Vanzilla, but she'll do." replied Lynn Sr.
"Guys, we need to get going." noted Rita.
"Here we go." sighed Lori.
The Loud family got into their new van and drove off. The entire time they headed to Fairway, Lori felt her stomach doing backflips. They arrived and Coach Hutch was waiting. Coach Hutch led the family to a conference room where the Fairway Board of Trustees and Dean of Fairway university waited. Lori stood before them knowing her future was in their hands.
"Miss Loud, you know why you are here." began the Dean.
"Indeed, I confirmed Lori.
"Fairway is an accepting university, but like all universities we do have a reputation." continued the Dean.
"I literally understand." replied Lori.
"Coach Hutch put in a good word about your character." noted the Dean.
Lori was relieved to have one ally.
"Now, please tell us your side of events." requested the Dean.
Lori took a deep breath.
"I have a problem with alcohol. I used it as a crutch to handle my problems and it literally consumed me." said Lori.
"You said you were using it as a crutch." mused a Trustee.
"I was feeling a lot of stress moving from high school to college and I used alcohol to deal with it." explained Lori.
"And you're sober again?" asked another Trustee.
"Since my accident." answered Lori.
"So, what exactly happened?" asked a Trustee.
"I was driving drunk and nearly killed." answered Lori.
"And how can we be assured you won't do that again?" asked the Dean.
"I am dedicated to sobriety." answered Lori.
"That's not enough ma'am." replied the Dean.
"Lori is a great girl!" declared Lynn Sr. passionately.
"No outbursts!" snapped the Dean.
"Honey, you have to stay calm." whispered Rita.
Lynn Sr. managed to calm himself down.
"Miss Loud, I am unsure about this." revealed the Dean.
"Is there anything I can do to convince you?" asked Lori.
"We're open to convincing." stated the Dean.
"You can do it." whispered Luna.
Lori took a deep breath.
"My drinking and all the problems caused by it were literally my fault and I cannot blame anyone else." began Lori.
Lori paused for a moment.
"I am dedicated to staying sober and making amends for the people I hurt." continued Lori.
"If it makes any difference, I can confirm Lori has been making amends." added Luna.
Lori thought for a moment.
"I am willing to attend AA." stated Lori.
Luna was pleasantly surprised.
"I will continue to do anything I need to earn my way back into Fairway." concluded Lori.
"Well, I've heard enough." said the Dean.
Lori hung her head sadly.
"Welcome back to Fairway." said the Dean.
"You mean it?!" asked Lori surprised.
"You took responsibility for your actions and are trying to improve. You are worthy of Fairway." answered the Dean.
"Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" declared Lori.
A/N: So, that's we're we'll end this chapter. I am not against Lori and Bobby, but I didn't want to go back to the status quo. Some change to had come from this experience and that breakup is it. But, Lori got back into Fairway. Next time, the final chapter. Please review.
