A post series story. Rick is in the dumps because most of his family won't be around for Christmas Eve. They all have other plans, such that they won't be there until Christmas day. Kate makes plans to try to cheer her morose husband and make Christmas Eve a day he will remember.

Kate had never planned to see him again but now, she would have to see him. She had to see Castle, for the first time in weeks, and talk to him. Oh shit. Starting in the summer before S2 and then going AU from there.

Castle and Beckett are testing a new vacuum cleaner.
