After defeating the MPEs and saving the world and the life of the girl he loves, Shinji Ikari dies and goes to heaven. When he gets there, he finds that God has a special plan for him.

Fifteen years after Second Impact, the world faces its deepest conflict. NERV, a militaristic organization in Japan, drafts young soldiers aged 14 to combat the mysterious organization SEELE and their super soldiers; the Angels. Shinji Ikari is taken from his mundane existence back home and is confronted with a life-threatening task as he learns to come to terms with his existence.

Like a fish dangling from the the other’s fishing hook, dying, struggling, desperation spreads everywhere, but it is fresh.

Asuka never wasted much thought on how a normal life would look like. Why bother, when your chances of survival aren't even that great? Now, after the war, she has to face that reality and - maybe for the first time - choose a path for herself. A path that could lead her against the very same person that once saved her life.
