Ramen at Night

It was one peaceful day that morning. This is what Kushina thought when she woke up, prepared breakfast, and went about her day. Except that her husband and son are currently not on good terms.

It all started two weeks ago, when Minato suddenly got swarmed with work due to reports they got from a troubling mission, and it was three days ago when Minato forgot his promise to Naruto. The young child wanted to remind his father but somehow ruined the Kage meeting. Causing his father to get mad at him, and now here they are, eating silently while having dinner.

Kushina tried her best to make the two make-up, but nothing worked at all. She knows that her son wanted to apologize to his father and the same can be said with her husband. However, the two have been silent for a while not knowing what to say, unintentionally ignoring each other's presence. Things didn't go well and somehow the two started to bicker at petty things. Annoyed, she grabbed their plates and threw the two out of their house. The blond-haired males stared at the door of their house, staring in disbelief as they were kicked out in the middle of dinner.

"If you want to fight, do it elsewhere, you know!" she exclaimed angrily at them through the door.

The two stared at each other, as they got off the stairs and went to sit downstairs. Minutes passed, Minato finally broke the silence. "Mom can be harsh at times." Minato chuckled, remembering the times when Kushina would kick him out of the house during their petty fights.

Naruto glared at his Father, "This is all your fault, you know" his son angrily exclaimed, however, he was surprised when his father agreed with him.

"I agree. Sorry about forgetting my promise with you Naruto, and for disregarding you when you tried to talk to me"

The boy went silent, now staring at the ground. A smile formed on his lips, "It's alright. I know you've been busy these past few days. I'm sorry too for causing you trouble during the Kage meeting Dad."

The two grins at each other, happy to have finally let out what has been gnawing on their minds and made amends. A growl from their stomach had them turned red, as they chuckled again. "Okay, why don't we go back inside for dinner?" his father smiled, going up the stairs and placing a hand on the door handle, only to realize that it was locked. He raised a brow and looked at his son. He knocked on the door, hoping his wife would open the door.

However, almost an hour passed and no one unlocked the door and hunger was about to take them. They tried checking the windows but it was locked. Naruto peeked, only to find the room dark, except for the dining area, but no Kushina insight.

Naruto sighed as he landed beside his father. "I think mom went to the bath already" he whined, as his stomach growled again. He tried suggesting to his Dad about teleportation but got declined, only to notice the fear in his father's eyes. Minato showed him a 'giving up' look as he stared at the sky.

"Yeah, your mom used to do this too." he sighed, "Then want to eat Ramen?" Naruto beamed him a smile as he nodded, they left their residence and headed towards their favorite Ramen place, the 'Ichiraku's Ramen'.

Hours passed by and it was already nine in the evening when they decided to go home. As they arrived, Kushina was glaring daggers at them with her arms crossed in front of her chest. The two shivered in fear, with the youngest instantly left to his room. Making excuses that it was his father's fault, and successfully got off the hook. Minato could only stare in horror at his son, for leaving him alone.

'Serve you right' Naruto thought to himself, as he grinned at his father profusely apologizing to kushina.
