Here's another chapter, because why not!

Chapter 2

Stumbling through the door of her apartment, Sakura tripped over her own feet and landed on her butt. In a daze she ripped her shoes off and groaned as she flexed her toes.

"My feet hurt so bad! I need to get a message soon or find a boyfriend who's good with his hands."

Mind set on a hot shower, she stretched languidly and walked towards her bedroom.

The hair on the back of her neck stood on end and she jerked her eyes up, looking into her living room. Two bodies stood in front of her balcony door, blocking the moonlight that would normally be filtering through her home.

Her muddled mind forgot her shinobi status and she emitted a frightened squeak before her brain could understand what it was seeing. Both men chuckled at her reaction, helping her recognize the two ANBU standing in front of her.

"Really? Neither of you could, I don't know, announce your presence? Purposely make a noise? Say hello? Throw a book at me?"

When neither replied, she sighed and ran her hand over her face.

"Right. Business as usual. I take it you're here for a middle of the night healing session. I can help but I can't handle anything serious right now. My chakra is low and I'm exhausted. So, you WILL listen if I tell you to seek more medical attention once I've ran a diagnostic scan on you."

She plopped down on the couch as she waited for a response, grumbling about men and their entitled ways.

The man with the weasel mask approached her, gingerly sitting on the couch. She glanced at his blood-soaked clothes while he methodically removed his ANBU armor, being careful not to jostle his mask. Her eyes narrowed at the long shallow cuts that covered his entire back.

"Lucky for you, none of these seems very deep; flesh wounds at most. I'm guessing your captain wouldn't allow you to just sleep it off."

A hum was the only response she received, causing her to laugh quietly. Movement caught her eye and distracted her from her current job.

The second man idly walked to her kitchen, clearly familiar with the small apartment. Rolling her eyes, Sakura started murmuring to her current companion.

"You are both so demanding. It's like you both view me as your own personal medic. You do realize there is this thing called a hospital. Sound it out with me: hos-pi-tal! See!"

The injured male slowly turned towards her, clearly giving her an exasperated look.

"We are Konoha's best team and we deserve the best. Plus, you're much faster than any hospital visit and your home smells a whole lot better."

"Plus, you have food," was heard faintly from the kitchen. The aroma of food wafted into the room and Sakura sighed loudly.

"Just because you're here almost as much as me doesn't mean you get to make yourself at home!" Sakura hollered, shoving the laughing man next to her.

Suddenly, the ANBU appeared in front of them and crouched to Sakura's eye level.

"You are exhausted Haruno-san and so are we. I will cook, we will eat, and then you can sleep after we leave."

The long-haired male stifled another laugh, trying to cover it up with a cough but Sakura did not miss it.

She huffed and muttered sourly, "You two should at least talk to me outside of ANBU secret healing requests at…ONE A.M.!" She accidentally shouted the last part and flopped back on the couch.

"Ah, Haruno-san, we just wish to keep you safe. Since we are both captains it would put you at risk," stated her previous patient while cracking his back loudly. He steadily backtracked once he realized she was glaring.

"Not that you cannot care for yourself. However, I doubt you want our clan giving you trouble because we talk with you."

"Oh, shut it! You know I know who you are and you know that your clan already gives me flak for hanging out with Sasuke-kun."

She rubbed her forehead and looked between the two before dramatically flinging her hand out. An agile hand quickly grabbed hers, helping her up from the couch. She blushed as his fingers brushed across her palm and lingered a moment too long.

"Whatever, just feed me already. I know you're a great cook." Sakura walked over and sat down at her kitchen table, being joined by the man in the weasel mask.

"Typical Uchihas, always barging in and doing as they please," she mumbled, ignoring the slight shove to her shoulder from said Uchiha.

The food was quickly placed in front of them and they ate the scrambled eggs in silence until Sakura let out an extremely loud sigh. Her head thumped down on the table so hard that both men grabbed their drinks to stop them from sloshing around.

"That can't be good for the table," mumbled the curly-haired captain.

Sakura growled into her tablecloth, "Shut up, Uchiha! I'm still pissed at you for this morning."

The second joined in on the laughter, "Haruno-san, it is not us who made you go to that meeting. Don't shoot the messenger. Though, he has been known to be quite vexing so maybe it's just him and not the meeting itself…"

The other ANBU hummed contemplatively and flicked his subordinate's ear, earning a glare in return.

"You're supposed to be on my side, baby cousin," he murmured, not once looking away from the distressed female.

Before she could become more irritated, she slid out of her chair and stomped into her bedroom without speaking.

"She is quite the fireball," chuckled the cook while he picked up her plate and put it in the sink.

"I HEARD THAT! NOW LEAVE BEFORE I THROW YOU BOTH OUT THE WINDOW…thank you for cooking…BUT I AM NOT IN THE MOOD," her voice was muffled from the closed door but their sensitive ears picked up every word.

They shared a quick laugh and left her home with a poof before she made good on her promise.

Waking up at 7 in the morning to a knocking ANBU was not Sakura's idea of a good time. Rolling over, she groaned loudly and flopped off the bed. She landed in a crouch and growled lowly at her unwanted visitor.

Looks like Sasuke is on duty this morning. Well at least he has seen me in my underwear before. No one new is getting a show.

"What do you want? I've barely gotten any sleep," she complained while jerking the window open with so much force that it shudders and the frame cracks slightly.

They both stare at the crack for a moment before Sasuke moves his hawk mask to the side and steps into her apartment.

Someone's been practicing their gliding skills. I know he has to realize that he is trying entirely too hard to be cool.

"Get dressed, the Hokage needs you," he states as his eyes take in her appearance languidly.

The smirk on his face makes her blush. Walking towards her closet, she starts mumbling about Uchihas and their rude, arrogant ways.

Making her bed and sitting down, he raised a delicate eyebrow at her ranting.

"Who did what and how did it piss you off so much?" Another grumbled threat and a jacket hit him in the head comically.

Sasuke's eyes narrowed as he dropped the jacket on the floor and pivoted on the bed to stare into Sakura's closet.

Sakura, knowing his reaction, was glaring at him when he faced her. She was wearing black shorts and a fitted red shirt.

As she pulled her shoulder length hair into a sloppy bun she growled, "Your brother and his damn captain —"

"Shisui," he stated with a knowing smirk.

"—barged into my apartment last night. AGAIN! …I swear it's like those two never go to the hospital anymore! I feel like I should just start a clinic out of my apartment to take care of Team 7 and your damn family members!"

She had moved to her bathroom to brush her teeth and he followed her, crowding her by leaning against the doorframe.

"Don't play dumb, Sakura. Aniki will accept nothing but the best and Shisui has a soft spot for you. Plus, he has a way of finding what makes people tick and just… pissing them off purposefully."

I wouldn't be so damn upset if he didn't confuse the hell out of me. I wish he would just piss me off instead! I don't get why a guy like him would mess with a girl like me. It has to be a joke. Plus, he's a few years older than me and totally smoking hot…

Sasuke waved his hand in front of her face, trying to get her attention. Sakura shot him a look that made him roll his eyes.

Oh, I am going to pummel so many Uchiha's before this week is over!

"Are you done trying to kill me with your pitiful glare? Tsunade is waiting."

OH! THAT'S IT! I WILL PUMMEL ONE RIGHT—

With another huff Sasuke put his mask back on and grabbed Sakura by the arm. She found herself once again teleported into the Hokage's office and did not try to stifle the mini-fit she threw as Sasuke leaned against a wall and chuckled deeply.

"Taichou, if one more ANBU member decides they can manhandle me…" the glare she sent the three Uchiha in the room was thunderous.

Tsunade chuckled and then outright laughed at her student's fearless nature and fiery gaze.

The cheerfulness left her eyes as suddenly as it appeared, "Sakura, I realize that I told you that I wanted you to think about our discussion yesterday but I need your answer now. A few things have changed since the last time we spoke."

The air grew very tense and all three ANBU visibly stiffened. Sakura bit her bottom lip and started fidgeting.
