Starting off I apologize for the brief absences! Currently I am in a peak season at my job thus I leave work exhausted almost every day too tired to write or even stay up late for that matter haha. Hopefully I can get back to this properly so I can get back to Terrible Twos asap. For now hope you enjoy this chapter!
Didi, still carrying Savannah and Dil, met up with the other adults as they all took the kids to the beachside restaurant. Soon a long table was set up for them all as the adults took the time to get the Rugrats settled in booster seats and highchairs.
"There you go sweetie." Didi cooed, placing the one year old into his highchair next to Savannah's before placing the kid menus and some crayons they could color with.
Dil, however, frowned and huffed. He didn't want to eat or color, he just wanted to play with Lily.
Savannah, who was busy coloring at the moment, noticed that Dil seemed upset as she attempted to comfort her friend.
"Dil it's going to be okay, it's not like were never gonna sees Lily again. Asides aren't you hungry?"
"No! I just want to play with Lily and I'm going to go finds her!" Dil exclaimed, determined to find that blonde baby again.
"Uh Dil, I thinks you'll gets in trouble if your mommy and daddy sees that you're gone." Savannah murmured as Dil began sliding from the highchair to drop to the floor
"So? What if Lily leaves afore then? We didn't even gets to say goodbye! Don't you at least wants to tell her goodbye?" Dil questioned, pausing his escape to look over at Savannah.
"Not if it gets me in trouble..." Savannah answered, a concern look crossing her face. Sure, Dil had his moments of acting out but to this extent had even the black haired one year old concerned.
"Well then I'm going by myself then. You can stays here." Dil said as he continued shimmying his way out of the highchair as he dropped to the floor.
Savannah watched as Dil crawled away beneath the table as she sighed before looking over to Tommy, who was coloring in the Reptar image on the menu. If there was anyone who could talk some sense into Dil it was Tommy.
"Tommy! Hey Tommy!" Savannah waved in Tommy's direction trying to get his attention from across the table
Of course, with all the noise in the restaurant, Tommy couldn't hear Savannah calling for him. Savannah frowned for a moment before she then picked up a crayon and tossed it so it would hit Tommy's head.
"Ow!" Tommy exclaimed looking up to see who threw the crayon as he noticed Savannah's frantic waving and Dil no longer in his highchair. Climbing down from the high chair, Tommy made his way over to Savannah's highchair. "What's wrong Savannah? Where's Dil?" Tommy questioned
"It's Dil, he's been acting weird all day every since we mets Lily. He won't play with me, he just plays with Lily and only Lil. Now hes gone to find her." Savannah explained
"It's okay Savannah, we can finds out why." Tommy reassured, " This looks like a job for the stuperhero Ace Sabby!" Tommy exclaimed as his imagination took over leaving him wearing an Ace Savvy costume only to momentarily be interrupted by Savannah
"Uh, Tommy, who's Ace Sabby?" Savannah questioned
"Ace Sabby is a stuperhero who solves mysteries and solves crimes and when he uses his cards he can call all his superhero friends." Tommy explained, "Lily's brother Lincoln was reading a book with him in it."
"Oooh cool! So uh, Ace Sabby what now?" Savannah grinned
"Well you can bes my sidekick! One-eyed Jack...uh or Jill I guess." Tommy answered
"Neat!" Savannah exclaimed, shimming out of her highchair plopping down onto the floor with Tommy, now in a One-eyed Jack costume as Tommy was back in an Ace Savvy costume
"First things first, we should find Dil. Any idea which way he has gone since you last saw him One-eyed Jill?" Tommy asked
"Yeah he went that way!" Savannah answered, pointing beneath the table where Dil had crawled away through
"Then that's where we're going." Tommy proclaimed, getting down on his knees to crawl underneath the table with Savannah following behind him to begin their search.
Meanwhile, Dil had managed to crawl over near the entrance of the restaurant, as he scanned his surroundings. That's when he spotted a certain blonde haired baby being carried into the restaurant by her dad. It was Lily! Not long after the Rugrats crew went off to get something to eat, Rita and Lynn Sr. also decided it would be a good opportunity to go ahead and get lunch before a potential lunch rush swamped the restaurant.
"Lily!" Dil cooed in delight as he stood up, watching as a waitress led the Louds over to a separate large table setting.
Taking the opportunity, Dil toddled a littles way behind following the family to the other side of the restaurant. At the same time, Tommy and Savannah were crawling beneath the many tables to the front of the restaurant to look for any sign of Dil.
"Any sign of him, Ace Sabby?" Savannah asked
"Hmm no not yet, he could have wents outside." Tommy shook his head, getting up from beneath a table.
"Oh no, if he wents out then we'll never be able to finds him on the whole entire beach." Savannah whined
"Wait! Lookit, hes over there!" Tommy said pointing out the one year old as he disappeared down the line of tables on the other side of the restaurant. "Come on!" Tommy ushered Savannah along
Sensing Tommy's urgency, Savannah got up on her feet as quickly as she could, toddling after Tommy to catch up as their pursuit of Dil continued. Dil watched as the Louds got settled into their seating to figure out what each of them were getting for lunch as Lynn Sr. placed Lily into a highchair, sliding the kid menu and crayons in front of her. Giggling in glee, Lily began coloring away on her menu, kicking her feet in delight. Upon the waitress walking away to give the Louds some time to look over the menu options and to get their drinks ready, Dil took this opportunity to toddle over to the table and over to where Lily's highchair was sitting.
"Psst Lily!" Dil called to the two year old
Hearing her name being called, Lily looked around in confusion as Dil tried again
"Lily looks down here!" Dil tried to call out again, waving his hand up in her direction as Lily finally looked down at Dil and grinned
"Dilly!" Lily beamed in delight to see her new friend once again.
"I wanted to plays more so I came to finds you." Dil explained with a grin
"I want to plays more too! I had fun playing with you guys." Lily giggled, "Here I can comes down and we can color together." Lily suggested
"Okay!"Dil bounced in glee, he didn't mind coloring now. Not if it was with Lily.
Glancing quickly around the table of 12 others, Lily grabbed her things and slipped from the high chair onto the floor with Dil. Laying the menu down she offered Dil a red crayon while she took a blue one. Dil then plopped down next to her as the two began coloring on the menu, giggling happily amongst themselves. As the two colored on the floor, Tommy and Savannah were observing them from beneath a table close by as Savannah huffed in an upset tone.
"See, Tommy! He only wants to play with her! He didn't want to color with mes but now he's coloring with Lily. It's not fair I was friends with your brother firstest!" Savannah exclaimed, stomping her foot in frustration as she held back tears.
"Hmm..." Tommy pondered to himself for a moment as he looked over at Dil and Lily. Something about this whole situation kind of reminded him of something that he saw happen before but he couldn't quite put his finger on it yet as to what.
Before he could finish his thoughts however, Tommy saw Savannah marching over to the two, obviously upset. Things were about to get messy.
"Dil! Why are you coloring with her when you didn't even want to color with me?" Savannah exclaimed angrily, startling the two others.
"Well I- Uh you see." Dil started to try and explain himself, not expecting to be confronted as Savannah cut him off.
"Firstest you takes Lily's popsicle to share instead of mines, then you guys let each other listen to your seashells you found and didn't let me here, then you guys wents to play with the ball without mes and now you wouldn't colors with me but you dids with Lily. If you didn't wants to play with me no mores you coulda saids sos!" Savannah ranted angrily, tears welling up in her eyes as she sniffled
"It's not likes that-" Dil tried to explain again only to be cut off once again
"If you're not gonna plays with me no mores then I don't want to be friends no more neither!" Savannah stated before turning to run off back to the other side of the restaurant with the others.
"Uh oh..." Tommy murmured to himself, coming out from his spot as he went over to Dil and Lily.
Lily was patting Dil an very upset Dil on the shoulder as Tommy came over to him. Dil, noticing his brother immediately gave his brother a sad look.
"Uh..we should goes back. Maybe we can all plays later." Tommy said
Dil and Lily looked to each other and then at Tommy before nodding in agreement as Dil got up from his spot.
"See ya Dilly, we can plays after we're done eating. Hope you and Savannah can be friends again." Lily said, waving to the orange haired toddler
"Yeah..." Dil nodded with a sad smile
He and Tommy then made their way back over to the other side of the restaurant to their table. Tommy climbed back into his booster seat while Dil just went to tug on Stu's pants leg to get his attention.
"Dil! How did you get down there? Aww you must be worried about Savannah, she's upset for some reason." Stu said as he picked up Dil, placing him back in his highchair.
Scanning the room, Dil saw a sobbing Savannah being held and comforted by Didi to get her to calm down. Dil just looked on, sadly slumping in his highchair.
Will Savannah and Dil make up and be friends again? Find out next time!
