After a short while, Didi got Savannah to finally calm down enough to be placed back in her highchair.
"There we go, all better now." Didi cooed as she placed the one year old in her highchair before heading back over to Stu and the other adults who were helping out getting the plates of food to each kid's spot at the table.
Savannah just frowned at the menu in front of her as she pushed it off her highchair tray and onto the floor. Dil cringed next to her, seeing how truly upset she was about everything.
"Uh hey Savannah?" Dil started softly
"I'm not talking to yous." Savannah huffed, crossing her arms and turning away from Dil.
"Savannah I'm sorry, I didn't want to make it looks like I didn't want to plays with you no more. You're like my bestest friend to play with in the whole wide world just like how Chuckie and my brother are." Dil apologized as he attempted to explain himself.
"Then why do you only want to play with Lily?" Savannah questioned, turning slightly in her seat, giving him a glance.
"I..I can't explains it, it's like when Im with her I get this weird feeling in my tummy like there's bubberflies in them but it's not a gross yucky feeling neither like when you get those tummy buggies or how it feels after I drinks a lots of milk." Dil answered
"I never heard of your tummy feeling like there's bubberflies in it without it being a tummy buggy." Savannah chimed in
"That's why it's so weird!" Dil exclaimed
"Do you think maybe Tommy knows what's wrong?" Savannah then asked
"Maybe, we could also probably asks Susie or Angelica since they're biggerer." Dil answered
"Lets ask Tommy then." Savannah suggested
However, before the two could even think of moving from their highchairs again, Didi brought over two plates of cut up pizza squares for them along with applesauce. It was then the two toddler's stomachs grumbled loudly as they bought looked to each other before deciding maybe this matter could at least wait till after they ate lunch. Finally, with everyone being served their food both the Rugrats crew and the Loud family enjoyed their lunches before heading back out to the beach for a little while longer. Upon being released to go play once again, Savannah and Dil took the opportunity to ask Tommy if he knew anything about the weird feeling that Dil was feeling whenever he was around Lily.
"Hey Tommy! We have somethings we wants to ask yous." Savannah called out to the purple headed toddler as she and Dil toddled over to him
"Oh uh sure but I thoughts you and Dil werent friends no mores?" Tommy pointed out
"Well I was really mad afore but Dil then told me that I was his bestest friend in the whole wide world so I decided that we were friends again." Savannah responded with a grin
"Oh okay, so what did you guys wants to ask?" Tommy followed up
"It's about this weird feeling I gets when I'm arounds Lily. It's likes there's bubberflies in my tummy but not in the yucky kind of way like when you have a tummy buggy that makes you go poop lots. We wanted to knows if you knows why." Dil explained the situation to Tommy.
Before Tommy could give an idea of what might have been happening, Lily came running up to the trio with the beach ball.
"Hey guys! Did you and Savannah make up Dilly? Do you wants to play with the ball again together all of us?" Lily asked
"Sure Lily, we're just asking my brother somethings then we can plays." Dil answered
"Okay, I'll be over theres next to my mommy!" Lily giggled before toddling off
As soon as Lily was off back over near Rita, Dil let out a happy sigh as he moved his hand to rest on his stomach.
"It's the bubberflies again." Dil muttered
It then finally clicked into Tommy's head as to what was going on, this was just like the time Chuckie had met Megan and then later Emma. Dil like liked Lily!
"Dilly what you're feeling happened to Chuckie afore. The firsest time was with this girl named Megan. She was always picking on Chuckie and stuffs and when Chuckie asked why she said it's acause she liked him and they played together lots. Well..until she started picking on a other kid and then we didn't see her no mores." Tommy explained, recalling the time back at the playground, shaking his head at the thought of Megan upsetting his friend before he continued. "But then there was Emma, you members her right? We saw her at Piggy's place. Well when we first meeted her it was also at the park back then afore her brother Big Binky didn't let no one plays with her. She and Chuckie started playing togethers though after they both found out they were ascared of everything. After Big Binky founded out thoughs he was really mads and told Chuckie he couldn't play with her no mores but Chuckie wanted to at least say goodbye to her cause he thoughts she didn't like him. That's when Phil, Lil, and mes helped him run off to play with Emma somemores. I don't member much of what happened afters but I remember Big Binky spotted them playing and when we finally founded them all Big Binky liked Chuckie from saving Emma from ants and then they could play togethers all the time at the park." Tommy finished his explanation
"Wow!" Savannah and Dil both said in awe
"So Dil's not sick or nothing?" Savannah then asked
"Nope! He just likes Lily a whole lots, I think it's called love like Chuckie said once afore when we were talking about Megan." Tommy shook his head
"Neat!" Dil cheered before thinking for a moment, "So what now?"
"Well, with Megan, Chuckie tried to tell her that he liked her even though Megan was different and just liked being pushed. But you could tries and tells her that you likes her." Tommy answered
What the trio didn't know was that Angelica had been listening in on their conversation as she cackled to herself before going over to the babies.
"Oh no, cousin Dylan did I just hear that you've been feeling like you have butterflies in your tummy?" Angelica, in a fake concerned tone, asked
"Uh yeah..." Dil cautiously answered
"Then it is true! You're sick, very sick, and it won't be long now before your tummy explodes from all the butterflies growing in your tummy and then cause you'll get an inflection and then you'll get tangerine." Angelica dramatically explained
"What? There's actually butterflies in my tummy?!" Dil exclaimed, hugging his arms around his stomach in worry.
"Your lying Angelica, he doesn't have butterflies in his tummy!" Savannah exclaimed
"Yeah I never heard of that afore!" Tommy agreed
"It's cause it only happens to 1 in a gazillion babies so it's really rare." Angelica went on causing the orange haired toddler to whimper
"What do I have to do to stop it?" Dil asked
"Oh to stop them from growing? You have to stop playing with that Loud kid, she's the one that made those butterflies start growing." Angelica answered with a smirk
"Stop playing with Lily...but I like Lily, she's really nice! She couldn't have made butterflies grow in my tummy." Dil stamped his foot in the sand, upset with Angelica's answer
"You're choice, drooly, either you stop playing or...POP your tummy explodes from butterflies." Angelica cackled before skipping off
"What if she's telling the truths you guys, bubberflies might pop out of my tummy!" Dil whined
"It's okay Dilly, it's probably another one of Angelica's dumb lies." Tommy reassured, patting his brother's shoulder
"Yeah! Asides if Lily is the one that made the bubberflies grow then I'd have them to." Savannah chimed in. "Let's just go play and not listen to Angelica."
"Uh maybe you guys can play, I think I'm gonna go lays down or something asides it's almost nappy time anyway. Just tell Lily I wanted to take a nap." Dil shook his head before toddling off back to the umbrella where the rest of the adults were.
Tommy and Savannah looked at each other before going off to play with Lily as they joined her to play with the beach ball.
"Where's Dilly?" Lily asked, passing the ball to Tommy
"Uh he said he was really sleepy so he was gonna go take a nap for a little bit." Tommy answered quickly, passing the ball to Savannah
"Oh...okay!" Lily half smiled, she was kind of upset that Dil wasn't there to play with them as she let out a sigh, catching the ball once Savannah bounced it over.
Dil lied down on the beach towel underneath the beach umbrella as he let out a sad sigh watching Tommy, Lily, and Savannah play without him. Feeling his eyes slowly growing heavier, Dil let out a yawn as he fell asleep.
