Chapter Three: In Which Food Is Obtained
"Your mother can't produce food out of thin air," said Hermione. "No one can. Food is the first of the five Principal Exceptions to Gamp's Law of Elemental Transfigur —"
"Oh, speak English, can't you?" Ron said, prising a fish bone out from between his teeth.
"It's impossible to make good food out of nothing! You can Summon it if you know where it is, you can transform it, you can increase the quantity if you've already got some —"
"You can?" said Harry, surprised. "Seriously?"
"Yes, Harry," she said.
"I really don't see why are starving then. Like, why didn't we increase the quantity of those eggs we stole from the coup?"
"Well. . . . It didn't occur to me then," admitted Hermione.
"How about we go somewhere, steal a really small portion of food, insignificant enough that no one would care and enlarge it till it's enough for all of us?" suggested Harry.
"I'm all for it, mate," volunteered Ron. "I just hope I don't drop dead of hunger before we get there."
They Apparated to the nearest town and Summoned small bits of food. When they had amassed quite the variety, they Apparated back to the tent.
"Hey, Hermione!" said Ron cheerfully. "We have . . . chicken!"
Needless to say, they were well-fed for the rest of the Horcrux hunt.
AN: I don't really see why food's a problem when you're a sorcerer. Weird, to say the least.
Roses are red, fish is great.
I have some, want a plate?
