Title: The Elvenking's 100-Drabbles
Author: LegolasLover2003 aka Ashley
Category: Book - "The Lord of the Rings"
Genre: General / Drama
Rating: T
Disclaimer: I do not own the rights to The Lord of the Rings or The Hobbit, I just adore them to pieces.
Author's Note: I got lazy again. I don't want to translate it all into Sindarin. To be honest, I think that's why it takes me so long to post these pieces. It's quicker to write them by hand then type them up then it is to translate all the dialogue, lol. However, there will be certain pieces that I do Sindarin only dialogue in... just not ones that are heavy in speaking... or this one because it's literally late and I have to go to work in the morning.

Teithannen Gwaedh

He had done business with the Woodland Realm for as long as he could remember. In fact, his father too had been a bargeman… as had his father before him been. Negotiating the price of a shipment had always been done by the king himself before hand. On the day of signing, the papers were always ready and waiting for the signatures of both parties in the transaction. He would sign in his place, and the king in his.
But this…
Bard found himself unable to look away as the Elvenking of Mirkwood placed quill to parchment, his long lithe fingers quickly drawing up the documents of aid. When the quill stopped, Bard's gaze moved from that head to the face, only to find the Elf staring back at him with one raised eyebrow.
"Something wrong?" Thranduil asked curiously.
The man shook his head, taking a moment to look away nervously. "No, I… I just… well… I never realized that all this time, the shipping documents I signed, well we signed, were penned by you, your majesty. I always just thought…"
"That a king would have a scribe to such labors?" Thranduil asked, the left corner of his lip turning up slightly in a small smirk. The human nodded, and the Elf went back to writing. "I find my words as good and binding as that of any scribe. Penning such myself expedites the process, I have found, along with giving me the ability to amend as I see fit during the drafting... and well, in an instance such as this one, conveys my… deep sincerity."
Bard shifted in his seat, crossing one leg over the other at the knee. "Surely this is unnecessary, my lord. Any aid that the Woodland Realm can give to us is more than…"
Holding up a hand, Thranduil stopped him. "You speak for the displaced of Lake Town, Master Bard. Consider your words carefully." The Elvenking reached for his seal, pouring hot wax upon the parchment, and stamping it as it cooled. "You will be granted one third of our stores for the coming winter, should you requite such. More can not be given at this time but… if the need is dire, you may request it. I can not guarantee more than this however."
"It is more than we could hope for." Bard replied, standing and bowing to the blond Elf.
Thranduil stood as well, present the document for the man to sign. "Your people are not alone."

Author's Notes:
- Because these are tiny drabbles, I will NOT be doing Muse Moments for each chapter.
- I was inspired to do these by Nyx Thranduilion who is also doing them. The original 100-drabbles challenge is in the invention of NirCele.
- All 100 of my drabbles will be Thranduil related... WEE!
- None of my drabbles will be in any sort of chronological order.
