Title: The Elvenking's 100-Drabbles
Author: LegolasLover2003 aka Ashley
Category: Book - "The Lord of the Rings"
Genre: General / Drama
Rating: T
Disclaimer: I do not own the rights to The Lord of the Rings or The Hobbit, I just adore them to pieces.
Author's Note: I got lazy again. I don't want to translate it all into Sindarin. To be honest, I think that's why it takes me so long to post these pieces. It's quicker to write them by hand then type them up then it is to translate all the dialogue, lol. However, there will be certain pieces that I do Sindarin only dialogue in... just not ones that are heavy in speaking... or this one because it's literally late and I have to go to work in the morning.

Raud

He hated to scold his youngest, for in truth the Elfling was still far too young to understand most of the reasons behind a good stern, 'No'. Right now, Legolas was playing happily in the Elvenking's study, but earlier in the evening, Thranduil had been forced to slap one of his son's small hands. The Elfling had been trying to remove the king's crown from its pedestal, an action that while seemingly harmless, could pose a potential danger. The metal of the crown, while appearing to be of natural wood, was actually silver that had been purposefully discolored for the effect. However, that silver was still sharp, and the last thing Thranduil needed was his youngest under Glorenpaur's care for a wound made by the crown!
Blue eyes had stared up at him in annoyance at the slap, but the Elfling stopped and pushed himself back off the chair and on to the floor. Since then, the child had been playing with wooden blocks on the rug, leaving his father to attend to the documents upon his desk.
Thranduil looked up suddenly, for it was far too quiet in the study. His gaze found the forgotten blocks first… and as he turned to where the crown resided… Legolas came into view. The Elvenking was on his feet at once, dashing across the rug… but too late.
The Elfling burst into tears, pulling the pointy end of the king's crown out of his now bleeding lips.
"Legolas!" Thranduil called out, taking his son into his arms, the crown falling to clatter upon the stone floor. "Shhh…" the king tried to soothe the youngster, holding him back enough to get a good look at his bleeding mouth. A tiny nick was evident upon those pink gums.
Breathing a sigh of relief, Thranduil kept the child close, bouncing him lightly until Legolas had fallen asleep. Oh, Glorenpaur would certainly have to look at the cut later, but right now, the Elvenking knew it to be of small consequence.
'At least,' he thought, 'Legolas will not try that again…'
And, in truth, he never did.

Elvish Translations:
Raud = Metal

Author's Notes:
- Glorenpaur is an original character of my invention. You may use him but please ask first.
- Because these are tiny drabbles, I will NOT be doing Muse Moments for each chapter.
- I was inspired to do these by Nyx Thranduilion who is also doing them. The original 100-drabbles challenge is in the invention of NirCele.
- All 100 of my drabbles will be Thranduil related... WEE!
- None of my drabbles will be in any sort of chronological order.
