TREY SERGAUSON

"The Omnitrix chose me, that means I don't really have a choice whether I save people or not..." - Trey to Professor Paradox about being a hero.

Tremaine "Trey" Sergauson is the main protagonist of the Arsenal fanfic franchise. He was a normal orphaned 15-year-old boy until he finds the Omnitrix, a device that allows him to transform into 11 different alien forms. With his strong sense of morality and an occasional quip, Trey uses his new powers to fight crime and protect the Earth. Due to not wanting civilians to fear him, Trey dubs himself Arsenal, a shapeshifting alien superhero and has become quite famous around the world.

He was presumed deceased after being in suspended animation for three years and upon waking up, leaves Earth to live on Tetris Nova.

During the events of The Responsibility of Being Extraordinary of The Extraordinary Arsenal (Chapter 3), Trey sacrifices himself to save the Multiverse, being revived as the Heart of the Universe. Using this power, he rebuilds the Multiverse and merges Tetris Nova with Earth, creating New Earth.

It is revealed in Chapter 12: Spiky-haired showdown of Arsenal: Hero Generation (Chapter 1) that Trey was never fully human, but half-Saiyan in his father's side.

It is also revealed in Chapter 5: Date Night of Arsenal: Hero Generation that Trey enjoys being a hero because he loves the feeling of giving people hope.

It is also revealed in Chapter 13: Real Heroics of Arsenal: Hero Generation that Trey used to self harm and think about suicide due to bullying and a feeling of worthlessness. He has since gotten over it but is very passionate about the subject.

It is revealed in Chapter 18: One Hell of A Hero Team Up of The Extraordinary Arsenal that Trey is a hero because of the Plumber code 'If you have the ability to help someone, you do it.' although he considers it Max's code, showing his respect and admiration for his adoptive father.

Personality

As Trey

When not fighting crime, Trey is generally a calm, respectful, easy-going person. He loves to crack jokes and never seems to get overly serious or agitated. He has a tendency to rush into something without thinking, but has proven to be a smart and capable leader, earning the respect of respected leaders like Plumber Magister Lerman and Professor Charles Xavier. Although sometimes immature, Trey genuinely cares about other people and takes his responsibility very seriously.

Outside of his heroics, Trey likes to spend his time doing usual young adult things. He enjoys video games, comic books and goofing off. He was quite skilled at basketball but stopped playing as time went on, presumably because of his crime-fighting leaving him less time for it. He isn't as mischievous as he was when he was younger, but he's still all for a little super-powered pranking, once in a while. He is known to be a very active dater, going through multiple one-night stands in a matter of days. Although he has matured out of that phase, he does not lack success with the ladies. Trey is also pansexual, meaning he is attracted to people's personality rather than gender. This is presumed to extend to other species, as well.

Trey is also very friendly, especially toward particularly troubled people. He always makes the first move to cheer someone up and sometimes comes across as a flirt, although he never admits to flirting on purpose. His charm combined with his genuine goodness makes most people like him, even before he got his powers. This is shown in Responsibility of Being Extraordinary, when he uses Chromastone to feed Galactus energy instead of attempting to fight him. This also makes him a particularly easy person to talk to, which Trey chalks up to "knowing what to say as a superhero."

It is revealed in Chapter 14: The Patchwork of Arsenal: Hero Generation that Trey is a Pure Heart, a being with no apparent evil within him. This allowed him to become a Super Saiyan and defeat Vegeta. It is revealed that this is why the Omnitrix chose him as its host. It is this Pureness that the Omnitrix unlocked its full potential for him in The Responsibility of Being Extraordinary, as he had no intention of using the watch's power in the wrong way.

Trey cares very deeply for his family, more so than anybody else. He is willing to do anything to keep the people he loves safe, as shown in Chapter 39: Endgame of Arsenal: Hero Generation when he gives himself over to Apocalypse so he'd stop attacking his friends. This love can be used against him, such as in Chapter 22: All Out War Part 2 of The Extraordinary Arsenal when Sculptor manipulated Trey into breaking up with Ellie, having tricked him into thinking he was putting her in danger. This is further shown in Responsibility, as the mere mention of his then deceased loved ones lead to a panic attack. It is this very same strength that ultimately allowed him to defeat Sculptor.

Despite the love and trust he has in his family, Trey isn't above keeping secrets. He has yet to tell anyone about going back in time in Good Trix, Bad Trix, kept Logan being in the Null Void from Alternate Logan for months, and told no one about his decision to hand himself over to the Skrulls. Although the latter's circumstances were revealed to be manipulated by Sculptor, the decision was still Trey's to make.

It is revealed in The Responsibility of Being Extraordinary that Trey suffers from an anxiety disorder, brought upon from the pressure of having to keep everyone safe. It is unknown when it actually began to develop but it confirmed to have worsened around the time Logan 1 of the Original Timeline was placed in the Null Void. This is the confirmed reason he jokes around so much, to cover up what's going on in his head. Although he gets more of a handle on it at the end of the episode, the anxiety itself lingers.

As Arsenal

As respectful and polite as Trey is when out of costume, it's the exact opposite when he's in it. When Trey dons his Arsenal persona, he becomes this arrogant, condescending vigilante that takes down the bad guys and talks down to them while he does it. Why he's become so cocky is unknown but it was theorized by Logan in Chapter 20: Battle of Champions of The Extraordinary Arsenal that it's because his secret identity/vigilante status allows him to act more immature than usual.

When taking on a villain, whether they be weaker or stronger, Arsenal to tends to treat it as a game. He spouts a plethora of quips, jokes, and one-liners to throw the villain off their game and also to ease some of the pressure off himself. He has a flare for the dramatic and his mannerisms are incredibly celebratory and animated, leading him to shimmy his shoulders and do a bunch of other gestures after doing something extraordinary. He takes things more seriously as he gets older but mostly retains the same jokester mentality. This sometimes annoys his allies, as well as enemies, who have expressed annoyance with his inability to be serious. He quickly drops the jokes when the situation gets dire, however.

Arsenal also really enjoys being a superhero. He gets incredibly excited over team ups and it's implied in Heroes Reunited of Stan 10 that his celebrations come from his enjoyment of his own heroics and fighting style. He's very animated in his reactions and comes across to other heroes as incompetent because of this.

Despite his joking nature, Arsenal has shown the ability to be cold and heartless. When innocent people are hurt, especially those he cares about, he becomes quiet and lets all his power loose, as opposed to repressing it like usual. This is shown when he snaps the neck of Apocalypse after the latter overthrew the Earth. He has a problem with killing if the bad guy is already beaten but will resort to it if there's no other way.

Perhaps Arsenal's greatest trait is his unwillingness to give up. He has shown to be willing to do anything to save people, even sacrificing his own life. He never hesitates to stand up to a villain, even when outmatched, and up until All Out War Part 2, was always willing to be the hero. He is extremely selfless and will not hesitate to lay himself on the line for the good of everybody else, as shown when he blew himself, the Omnitrix, and the Cosmic Cube up in order to keep it from Sculptor and restart the Multiverse. Although he became Heart of the Universe, he was unaware of his fate prior to his sacrifice.

Powers and Abilities

Trey is the Heart of the Universe, a legendary being whose DNA is comprised of every piece of alien DNA in this Multiverse and the three previous, as well as unknown energy from within the Cosmic Cube. The full extent of this energy is unknown but as stated by Trey, he at least has all of the powers seen until now. This includes:

Base Transformation - Trey can alter his Multiversal DNA, making one strand more prominent than the other and transforming into that alien form. He can turn into any form he has knowledge of and can stay transformed for however long he wants. As of now, his official alien count is but due to his Multiversal status, the count could reach immeasurable numbers.

Evolution - Thanks to his former connection to the Omnitrix giving him more practice, Trey can push his DNA further and evolve his forms to their Ultimate stages. He can do this with all of his forms, although this is one of his lesser used powers.

Limb-Changing - Trey's signature power, he can use his DNA to change any of his limbs into that of any alien form, as well as grow any extra limbs (wings, tails etc.). He uses this power the most, both in and out of costume. Although powerful, these limb changes aren't as powerful as the whole transformation. As added feature, Trey has discovered he can change his eyes as well, although this power is used sparingly.

True Form Transformation - Trey can transform into his True Doppelganger form at will. Although more cold and bloodthirsty, this form allows him to use multiple limbs at once and grants him full powers of said limbs. He cannot use this form for more than a few minutes or he will start to die. It is unknown if this limit is still present after he becomes Heart of the Universe, as this may not be his true form anymore.

Enhanced Physical Attributes - As customary for aliens, Trey's strength, speed, hearing and sight are upgraded to high levels. Trey can hear well enough to listen in on conversations happening several feet away, move fast enough to routinely dodge energy blasts in regular form, and his body is durable enough to survive attacks that would kill ordinary people. Although beings powerful enough can harm him easily. It is stated by Tracy in All Out War Part 2 that her and Trey have to repress their strength so his true strength is still unknown. His strength has been even more enhanced after becoming Heart of the Universe.

Accelerated Healing Factor - Although not on par with the likes of Deadpool or Apocalypse, Trey's healing factor is considered to be one of the strongest. He is shown to heal from battle wounds within seconds, get over illness within a few hours, and fight off powerful infections such as vampirism.

Immortality/Age Manipulation - Being an alien, Trey ages much slower than a regular human would. He completely stopped aging when he became a Doppelganger, gaining the ability to alter his physical appearance at will. He currently goes by his biological age, however.

Limited Reality Manipulation/Universe Creation - After becoming Heart of the Universe, Trey has gained the ability to manipulate the energy of the Multiverse itself, essentially bending it to his will. Although he knows close to nothing about how these powers really work, Trey has used them to restore the Multiverse to its prior version after it had been destroyed, as well as merge two planets together to create new ones. He has also been shown manipulating the events of the past, making it so nobody remembers he was the original Arsenal too. Although confirmed he cannot yet use these powers at will, it can be assumed any future version of him will be able to fully utilize them.

Abilities

Advanced Hand-to-Hand Fighter - Even without using his powers, Trey is more than capable of holding his own in a fight. Although not officially trained, his mix of street fighting and instinct make him a smooth and skilled combatant when the situation calls for it. Although presumably not on the same level as those such as Logan Gold, Ellie Stroker or Marian Smith, Trey is capable of being a threat even when his powers aren't working. He was proficient enough to take on several ninjas in human form (with the help of Kyle Tennyson) when he was 15, as well as more recently defeat Nappa, a skilled Saiyan warrior.

Above Average Intellect - Despite not being on the level of Logan Gold (Chapter 4) and Azmuth, Trey has shown a great deal of intelligence when needed. He has often saved the day with some kind of helpful fact, whether it be science or otherwise, and is able to form well thought out plans in a matter of minutes. He is also clever enough to come up with quips on the spot, something that is shown to be hard for other characters.

Former Powers

Fusion - As an accidental result of his Doppelganger DNA scanning a Skrull, Trey was able to fuse his forms at will. The fusions would usually consist of two forms whose powers compliment each other well and the result would be a form with the strongest aspects of both forms. After becoming Heart of the Universe, this glitch in DNA has been corrected, taking away his ability to fuse.

Weaknesses

Codon Stream Connection - As a Doppelganger, Trey's body is powered by Codon Force, the particles that make up the Codon Stream. If something were to happen to the Codon Stream or if Trey's connection to it is severed or blocked, Trey's body will shut down. It is unknown if this weakness is still present now that he is the Heart of the Universe.

Base Form Weakness - When fully transformed into a form, Trey gains that form's weaknesses as well as strengths. (Omni's weakness to Kyrptonite as an example)

Hyper Metabolism - Trey has to consume 14,000 calories a day due to his metabolism burning at an extraterrestrial level. Though it hasn't been seen what happens if he doesn't, it can be assumed it's a bad thing. It is stated by Trey in Responsibility of Being Extraordinary that he will eventually die.

Energy Drainage - Since Trey's powers do not come from a watch, he exerts personal energy to use more powerful forms and use extra powers (Ultimates, Fusions, Ditto clones). Using these forms can take a toll on Trey and drain some of his powers.

Power Blocking Technology- Trey, like any person with powers, can have his powers dampened by the appropriate technology. He has been rendered powerless by items such as a Power Control Collar, which put his transformations in the hands of heartbroken girls and eliminated his limb changing and healing factor.

Relationships

Ellie Stroker (Girlfriend, Mate, Crime-fighting partner; 2020-Present) (Page coming soon) Current Status: Happily together and in love.

Lola Pacini (Best Friend, Sidekick, Hookup; 2020-Present) Current Status: Friends after Trey understands her desire for his closure following them sleeping together.

Kyrie Nexus (Best Friend, Former Adversary; 2020-Present) Current Status: Best friends after Trey let him in on his secret after restoring the Multiverse.

Logan Gold (Adopted Brother, Best Friend, Occasional Crime-fighting partner; 2006-Present) Current Status: Presumably best friends following Trey bringing back the original Logan and making things right. They are considered the OG duo and have been undefeated when they team up. As stated by Paradox, the boys are a team that will go down in history.

Charity Jennings (Ex-Girlfriend, Adopted Sister, Best Friend, Occasional Crime-fighting partner; 2006-Present) Current Status: After making proper amends with their break up, Trey and Charity are back to being friends. It is unknown if she still has feelings for him.

Ben Tennyson (Best Friend, Adopted Nephew, Former Protege, Occasional Crime-fighting partner; 2015-Present) Current Status: After forgiving Trey for leaving, the boys are back to being close as before. Trey has a great deal of trust for Ben, moreso than before, as shown when he gives Ben his own Ultimatrix. They occasionally team up to form the Shift Brothers, a two man team of shape shifting heroes. This team is very affective and according to Ben, the best hero duo in the game due to their matching personalities and powers.

Gwen Tennyson (Friend, Adopted Niece, Occasional Crime-Fighting Partner; 2015-Present) Current Status: Friends. Gwen was one of the relationships that did not change when he gave himself to the Skrulls.

Matt Sergauson (Close Friend, Adopted Brother, Occasional Crime-Fighting Partner; 2015-Present) Current Status: Good friends following Trey merging the two planets. Matt has gone on record saying Trey is his best friend and Trey has been the only one consistently on good terms with Matt. The pair have great chemistry and their fighting styles compliment each other well.

Max Sergauson (Close Friend, Adopted Father, Mentor; 2015-Present) Current Status: After returning to New Earth, Trey and Max have presumably returned to their Father/Son relationship. Trey still harbors a great deal of love and respect for Max, despite him being done for years.

Trivia

Trey's secret identity was initially public knowledge before his manipulation of the Multiverse and the timeline. As a result of this, everybody in the universe remembers the original Arsenal as a shape-shifting alien. Trey currently acts as his own successor, now wearing a costume to conceal his identity when not transformed.

• Trey met Logan and Charity when he was six years old, them being the first ones to greet him when he arrived at the orphanage. It was Logan who shortened Tremaine to Trey.

• On occasion, Trey shouts the name of a new alien form when he transforms into them. Why he does this is never explained, although it is presumed to just be for fun.

• Trey finished 10th grade at the beginning of Hero Generation, was in 11th grade during the first season of Extraordinary Arsenal and is currently in his freshman year of college, as of the current season. He is a fairly average student, according to himself, paying attention when needed but preferring to goof off. He is frequently late to his college classes because of his duties as Arsenal and has to do regular amounts of extra credit work in order to cover for his absences. His professors are generally unconcerned with his whereabouts on the grounds that he passes, however.

• Trey considers several people his best friend; Logan, Charity, Ben, Kyrie and Lola. They all consider him their best friend, as well.

• Unlike other wielders, Trey has only wielded the original prototype Omnitrix. As he became a Doppelganger before its destruction, he had no need for a successor. His ability to transform by himself is considered one of his most unique traits.

• Trey has several aliens that he has yet to transform into, on screen. Having the DNA of every extraterrestrial species within the Multiverse puts his numbers into territory thought impossible.

• Trey's future self has been referenced several times, although never seen. He is said to be even more powerful than current Trey, able to defeat Holocaust, the son of Apocalypse, with the snap of a finger. The current timeline's Trey has yet to be mentioned but can be presumed to be immensely powerful.
