A.N - In this chapter, I bring in the families. Padme's family is the same. Anakin's family is Shmi, Cliegg, Owen and Beru, Obi Wan's parents are Qui Gon and Bria {she's an OC briefly mentioned in my other Anakin and Padme story} and Ahsoka's parents {no names yet}

"Family Relationships, First Dates and The Holidays"
The dinner with Padme and Satine had been a success and it had given Anakin and Obi Wan even more confidence to consider ask Padme and Satine out on proper dates perhaps given the holidays were approaching, perhaps a special holiday dates.
With the holidays approaching, it meant it was time for family to visit. This year, Anakin, Obi Wan and Ahsoka decided to invite their families to come visit them which meant they would be cooking and for Anakin and Obi Wan it was learning to cook Thanksgiving foods.
"When did Thanksgiving cooking become so complicated?" Anakin asks in frustration. They were in the kitchen one Saturday afternoon and Obi Wan was sitting on one of the kitchen stools as Anakin and Ahsoka moved around the kitchen attempting to practice making various Thanksgiving meals.
Ahsoka goans before she turns and snatches the serving spoon for him "Well, it helps if you don't turn your back on the mash and ensure the mash has no lumps!" She exclaims pushing him aside "Go chop more vegetables because you obviously just want to cut the food" she says referring to the job he did on the pumpkin for the pie. Anakin looks back at her "You just said it's the best pumpkin cutting you've ever seen!" He argues as Ahsoka rolls her eyes as she started to take over the mash potatoes
"What possessed both of you to want to host Thanksgiving this year?" She asks them as Anakin shrugs looking over at Obi Wan who was keeping silent before he turns back to Ahsoka. "Well, my mom's been begging to come out and see where I live and meet you both and she's bringing my stepfather and stepbrother who will bring his girlfriend and Obi Wan's didn't feel like travelling with his injuries" he reminds her as Obi Wan adds "They'll find out when they get here but least they can see I'm taken care of here" he says as Ahsoka smirks
"By your hero" she smirks looking up at Anakin just at the moment they all heard the doorbell ring. Confused, Obi Wan looks over at Anakin and Ahsoka "Are you two expecting company?" He asks as Ahsoka shakes her head "My parents don't fly in for another two days and Lux is catching up with his friends" she says as Anakin places the knife down "I'll go check who's at the door" he says before Ahsoka could stop him. She looks over at Obi Wan "He'll do anything to get out of cooking won't he?" She asks as Obi Wan sniggers shaking his head.
"Anakin has never been one for cooking, eating yes but cooking not so much" he reminds her making Ahsoka laugh as she continued to move around the kitchen.
As Anakin reached the front door and slowly opens the door his eyes widen as he saw his mother, stepfather Cliegg, stepbrother Owen and his girlfriend Beru all standing there with big smiles. "There he is my son!" Shmi beams as she moves to embrace a startled and confused Anakin "Mom, what are you all doing here. Thanksgiving's not till the end of the week" he reminds them as Cliegg, Owen and Beru followed her into the house. "We know but we figured we'd get settled into our hotel room and explore the city you now call home son" he says. Anakin smiles over at him. He may have been twelve when his mother met and married Cliegg and growing up with a father, he always imagined what it would be like to have a dad and Cliegg could not have been more nicer, treating his son and Anakin both equally. He even insisted Anakin call him dad straight after he married Shmi.
Owen then looks over at him "Plus mom and dad wanted to meet your roommates" he adds before he looks over at Beru "And I wanted to introduce you to Beru" he says. Anakin smiles looking over at the young woman standing beside his stepbrother "Well, you forget Owen, we have talked over Skype" he says before he moves to embrace her "But it's nice to meet you in person" he says seeing her smile "It's very nice to finally meet you in person" she replies as Shmi looks around the house
"So, this is quite a lovely home you have here Ani" she says. "Are your roommates home?" She asks as Anakin nods "They're in the kitchen, I'll introduce you to them" he says. "Obi Wan, Ahsoka, we have visitors!" He calls out as he heads back to the kitchen as Ahsoka responds "Visitors? Anakin, what are you—-" Ahsoka stops mid sentence when she sees Anakin enter the kitchen with Shmi, Cliegg, Owen and Beru.
"Mom, dad, Owen, Beru, these are my roommates and fellow colleagues Obi Wan and Ahsoka" he says as Shmi smiles over at Ahsoka as Owen grins "Ah, so I finally get to meet the famous Obi Wan and Ahsoka my brother can't stop talking about" he smirks looking over at them "So, be honest, how much of my mess is my step brother?" He grins as Anakin glares over at him as Ahsoka only smirks
"Not so much messy more like he hogs the bathroom in the morning and doesn't do much cooking" she admits as Owen starts laughing as Shmi looks over at her son "Do I want to know what you're eating then sweetheart?" She asks looking over at him "You do look a little thin?" She asks as Anakin rolls his eyes "Mom, I'm fine. It's more muscle" he explains "Beside I've been eating well. Ahsoka's quite the cook and we've been having dinner out on other nights" he admits. He decided to keep his love life a secret especially since they had hoped he and Darra would be be together.
Shmi then looks around smiling "Well, I'm looking forward to Thanksgiving dinner then" she admits as Ahsoka nods "You should, because I've gotten Anakin to help if he can learn to mash potatoes properly" she says as Owen laughs even harder as Cliegg looks over at his wife. "Looks like Thanksgiving dinner got more interesting" he admits seeing her nod "It's a shame Darra won't be joining us this year" she shakes his head before he smirks "Things change mom but you never know, maybe next Thanksgiving there may be some new faces" he teases. Shmi looks over at Obi Wan and Ahsoka confused
"What does he mean?" She asks looking over at Owen "Owen, has he said anything to you?" She asks as he raises his hands innocently "This is the first I'm hearing of this" he tells him. It was that Anakin felt all eyes on him before he shrugs "What?" He asks "I don't have anyone now, just saying that this year I'm single and next year I'm dating someone new" he says as Ahsoka and Obi Wan exchanges glances with each other as Shmi and Cliegg just looked at each other confused before Anakin changed the subject.
"How about I show you all around?" He asks as Shmi smiles "That sounds lovely" she says before Anakin leads them from the kitchen leaving Ahsoka and Obi Wan in the kitchen. Obi Wan looks at Ahsoka "I really thought they were going to ask if he was seeing someone" he confesses as Ahsoka nods before she adds "Imagine when they do find out he's dating and she already has kids" she says as Obi Wan shrugs
"Although to be honest, they'll probably like Padme more. I remember at first they weren't so keen on how much clubbing Darra and Anakin did together. There was one time his parents were coming over and he was still passed out drunk on the couch after a night of clubbing and drinking with Darra" he reveals before he goes on "Then there was the pregnancy scare" he adds as Ahsoka's eyes widen looking over at him "What!?" She exclaims as Obi Wan realises he went too far.
"Uh…I think I hear my phone ringing, better go check that" he says as he slowly gets down from the stool and heads into living room slowly leaving Ahsoka still in shock at what she just learnt about one of her friends that she could never have expected.
Across the city, Satine's nephew Korkie still couldn't understand why he had to meet his uncle after all these years and pretend to like him and get a photo. He was skating up and down the path at the local path whilst talking to his mom on the phone she had given him. "I don't get it mom, why do I need a photo of uncle Vis, I don't even like him" he confesses as he hears Bo reply "I know and it doesn't have to be a long chat. Just ask him how's he's been, lie about missing him and then ask for the photo" she reminds him as Korkie smirks
"You always told me not to lie" he grins as Bo laughs "It depends on the situation. Yes lying is wrong but this is for your aunt Satine and your cousins who you love dearly" she reminds him. Korkie sighs "Can I delete the photo after I send it to you and aunt Satine?" He asks making her laugh. He may have been only 10 but she knew he still remembered how much Satine was crying when she moved in with them after Viszla.
Bo then says "After your aunt Satine tells you, you can" before she added "Your aunt Satine is very appreciative for this" she says as Korkie smirks "I could use a new skateboard" he hints. Bo shakes her head "I'm sure your aunt Satine will do something special to stay thanks" she replies as Korkie then notices his uncle arriving to the park.
"Okay, he's here, wish me luck" he says before hanging up. He watched his uncle get out of his car before he skated away from him. He knew his aunt would agree that he needed to make this an unexpected encounter even those his mom had already told Bo will he be, why not make him wait even longer.
Whilst at the same time, Vizsla left the carpark and head into the carpark looking out for his nephew although he knew he was going to be much older than he remembered, he still hoped he would be able to recognise him. He headed over towards to the play equipment unable to spot a child similar to Bo anywhere. Had this all been a set up? He thought as he turned to move over towards a nearby empty bench when a voice suddenly startled him.
"Uncle Viz!" He calls out as Viz turns to his right to see a young boy, around the age of 10-11 with short orange hair dressed in track pants and a t-shirt skate towards and past him before Vizsla's eyes widen as he watches his nephew perform a sharp trick and flip before he skated back over towards him. "Korkie?" He asks in shock as the boy laughs "Who else?" He asks as Vizsla heard Korkie's mother sharp tone in his response.
"You got taller" Vizsla says straight out as Korkie laughs "Can't be a kid forever, although I know my mom wishes I could" he says making him laugh as he remembered how protective Bo was of Korkie as a kid and most likely even now. It was then he heard Korkie go on "I miss you. I'm like the only boy in the family and unless you count the rare chance mom had a date join us for dinner" he admits. He had quickly changed it from aunt to mom knowing he needed to think Vizsla could work his way back into the family.
Vizsla smiles over at him "Well, hopefully soon your uncle will be back in the picture" he promises as Korkie gives him a small smile. He wanted so bad to lash out about how he abandoned his aunt and cousin how he saw her aunt basically lock herself in the guest room of their house but held back and decided to lie more.
"I know my aunt does miss you. She cried for years wishing that you were coming back" he says as Vizsla looks down "She's got a funny way of showing it. She won't even listen to me recently" he replies as Korkie smiles "Give her time, she'll come around" he adds taking out the phone once more
"In fact why do we show her?" He suggests "With a selfie" he says as Vizsla is confused "A selfie?" He asks "How will that help me?" He adds as Korkie goes on "I'll tell her how I bumped into you at the park, we spent the afternoon hanging out and I wanted to remember the occasion" he says giving a smile the best he could.
Vizsla started to smile "And you think that will help me?" He asks as Korkie shrugs "I'll talk the afternoon up alot and she'll see how great you are with kids" he says as he moves beside his arm, placing an arm around Vizsla before he holds the phone up high in front of them. "Okay, uncle Viz, smile" he says snapping two photos, the second as a back up.
"It's good to see you Korkie" Vizsla says "And I promise when I win this custody hearing, I'm making up for all the birthdays and Christmases I missed with you" he says as Korkie grins "You sure do" he replies keeping up the ruse. He gets up on the skateboard "I'll show you a few more skills I've learnt on my board" he says. He knew he couldn't just leave in case Vizsla found it suspicious and so far, Vizsla was just happy someone in the family was being kind to him and if he needed to keep this ruse going until his mom called him to come home, then that was fine with him but his aunt Satine definitely would be pleased what his this afternoon was going.
"Uncle Bail, aunt Breha!" Cried Luke and Leia as they got out of their car upon arriving at Padme's house that afternoon. Padme and Satine had invited him and Breha over for an afternoon BBQ. Satine and Padme followed along with Isabel. James was having an afternoon nap. Bail smiles down at Luke and Leia, wrapping an arm around them "Hello you two, it's always good to see you two" he says "How are those projects coming along?" He asks as Leia beams up at him
"Well, Luke keeps ignoring his but mine's almost finished and very colourful!" She gushes as Luke rolls his eyes in annoyance as they moved back over towards Padme, Satine and Isabel. "Hello again Padme, Satine" Breha smiles embracing them both as Padme nods "It's always good to see you Breha, thank you for coming" she says as Breha looks up at Bail "We always look forward to spending time with you both, plus Bail had a work related issue he couldn't wait for Monday to explain" he says as Bail shrugs
"Well, this week is Thanksgiving and I'm only in the office for two days before we leave to be with the families" he reminds her as Padme looks over at him curious "I'm curious as to what it could be. I'll admit I did enjoy working the case with you. It's always pleasing to put Nix Card in his place once more" she admits as they headed back inside as Satine scoffs
"Oh how that man became a lawyer is beyond me" she admits "Probably paid someone to do all the hard work and he takes the credit and then became a lawyer and has no idea what to do" she says as Padme laughs "Well, it's shows when he's in court" she admits as Luke, Leia and Isabel raced past them into the play area as Breha looks over at Satine. "Isabel was very quiet, is she alright?" She asks as Satine sighs "Ever since the incident at the school, she's been more clingy to me and afraid that something like it will happen again" she confesses going on "It makes me want to have Vizsla arrested on allegations of kidnapping" she admits as Bail and Padme both exchanged glances with each other before Padme looks back at her friend
"Why don't you?" Padme asks curiously seeing Satine look over at her confused "What?" She asks shaking her head "I can't. Vizsla will weasel out of it like he always has" she says adding "And beside I don't have enough evidence that will help keep him in jail till the hearing is over" she admits. Padme nods "Yes, but if you believe he could be capable of kidnapping Isabel again, that's a threat" she explains "Go to the police and make a claim which will see him arrested and then go to your lawyer and explain what you've done and perhaps you can end this" she suggests
Bail nods "Padme might be onto something and if you need help, I'd be happy to happy you when I get back after Thanksgiving" he says. Satine was suddenly overwhelmed with emotions. She embraces Padme and Bail "You two are the best friends I could ask for and give me things to think about" she says allowing a small smile to cross her face just as her phone rang. "I'll be right back" she says heading from the living room. Isabel watches her go "Mommy?" She spoke as Padme smiles
"Mommy's just taking a phone call, she's be back" she assures her moving over towards her "Why don't you all go outside and play and we'll call you when the food is ready" Padme suggests as Bail then added "And I'll go get the BBQ started up" he says heading outside.
Whilst, in the front living room…
"He did it Satine" she heard her sister say "He was real eager to send me the photo so he could delete it off his phone"she admits as Satine breathes a sigh of relief before she replies "Tell Korkie thank you and I owe him big time" she says hearing her sister laugh "Oh he will" she simply says as Satine laughs "Can you send me the photo?" She asks as Bo answers her "Soon as I am off the phone, I'll send it through to you" she promises "I hope this works" she says as Satine agrees "Me too" she says hanging up before a few minutes later she heard her phone beep. She saw it was from her sister and she quickly opens the message seeing the photo. There he was - the man she had been facing off in the court room beside her nephew. She could see how forced Korkie looked and hopefully Vizsla didn't notice however it was Vizsla who was smiling so much. She hadn't seen him smile that much since their wedding. Satine then went through her contacts and found Ahsoka's number pressing it.
"Ahsoka, are you free tomorrow morning?" She asks hearing the young girl reply "I can be why?" She asks as Satine replies "I have the photo to show you" she replies as Ahsoka realises what she means "I can meet you outside the classrooms tomorrow before school starts" she says before they both hanged up. She allows herself to smile - hopefully this custody hearing would soon be over.
Satine then re entered the back living room and this small chance of hope gave her an idea. She pulls Padme aside. "Padme, I think we should do a double date with Anakin and Obi Wan" she reveals as Padme blinks in surprised. "What?' She asks as Satine shrugs "I feel more confident with the hearing and winning that I want to celebrate and ever since that dinner I can't stop thinking about Obi Wan and I want take the next step" she says as Padme nods. She'd be lying if she hadn't been thinking the same thing about Anakin.
"Okay, so when do we do this double date?" She asks as Satine thought for a moment. "Thanksgiving is this week so we'll be busy with family so I think the week after Thanksgiving. Tuesday night?" She suggests as Padme nods "Sounds good. I'll speak to my sister about babysitting that night" she says "You ask Obi Wan tomorrow and I'll ask Anakin" she says as Satine smiles "Sounds perfect to me" she says just as Luke runs back inside.
"Mommy I"m hungry" he says as Padme shakes her head smiling "Bail's starting up the BBQ now so hopefully the food will be cooked shortly" she says before they watched him run back outside leaving Satine and Padme to start preparing the salad and bringing out the meat the Bail.
Monday morning…
Padme and Satine headed over to the school both with smiles and nerves for this morning they were going to ask Obi Wan and Anakin both out on dates which would take place after Thanksgiving and Satine was also going to find out if Ahsoka did in fact see Vizsla at the school while Luke, Leia and Isabel were just excited to have a short school week before the Thanksgiving holiday.
"I really hope this week goes by fast" Luke admits as Leia adds "I hope we do some Thanksgiving activities" she admits as Padme looks down at both her children "I'm sure Mr Skywalker has everything all planned out" she says as they entered the school gates and headed down to the classroom block. Satine looks over at Padme. "I'm going to go see Obi Wan first and then speak with Ahsoka" she says as Padme nods. "Do you want me to wait for you outside or at the car?" She asks as Satine smirks over at her
"How do I know you'll be finished before me?" She teases "You might be still talking to Mr Skywalker?" She asks as Padme rolls her eyes shaking her head as they entered the building and Padme moved over to help Leia and Luke hang their bags up and take off their coats just as they heard another voice "And there's two of my students now" they hear as Luke, Leia and Padme all look over to see Anakin standing over at the entrance with two older figures. Luke and Leia grinned "Good morning Mr Skywalker!" They chimed before they give Padme a hug each as Anakin goes on "Mom, dad, meet Luke, Leia and their mother Ms Naberrie" he says going on "I was just showing my parents around. They're in town for the holidays" he says as Shmi smiles "It's lovely to meet you" she smiles before she moves over to give her son a hug
"And this is our cue to leave" she says "We'll see you this afternoon" she tells him as Cliegg claps a hand on his shoulder "Don't go too hard on the kids" he smirks before they headed from the building as Anakin shakes his head turning back to Luke and Leia. "Hope you two are ready for today's lessons" he says seeing them nod before Leia asks "Anything about Thanksgiving?" As Anakin shrugs "Maybe" he replies adding "Go inside and take your seats" he tells them before they watched Luke and Leia hurry into the classroom leaving Anakin and Padme alone in the hallway.
"I wanted to speak with you about something Anakin" she says as Anakin raises an eyebrow cheekily "Anakin?" He replies referring to their game of being formal in front of everyone else and using first names in private. "So, it's not about the children then?" He asks making her giggle slightly "No" she smiles going on. "I was hoping perhaps next Tuesday night, you'd join me on a date, actually a double date with Obi Wan and Satine" she says.
Anakin was taken aback - he always thought he'd be the one to ask her out first however if Padme was asking him out first, maybe she was ready to make the next step. Anakin didn't realise he had been silent making Padme nervous. She shakes her head "I'm sorry it's too soon isn't it?" She asks "Forget I said anything and I'll see you this afternoon" she says starting to turn however then felt him take her hand stopping. "Wait" he says smiling
"I was just caught off guard" he says "I'm enjoying getting to know you and I would love to go out with you next Tuesday even if our first date is a double date, might help ease the tension" he smirks making her blush more "Oh Anakin" she replies "I've not felt any tension with you so far" she says as Anakin smiles "So, we'll pick you both up next Tuesday night at around 6?" He asks as Padme smiles "Looking forward to it" she says and with that she was gone, leaving Anakin still smirking - he had a first date with Padme. Talk about a Thanksgiving miracle.
Meanwhile, Satine had just asked Obi Wan the same thing and like Anakin, he had taken completely by surprise. Obi Wan smiles laughing "This is a surprise because I'd be lying if I wasn't thinking of asking you out" he says as Satine smiles "I hope I've not been too forward then?" She asks as Obi Wan shakes his head
"Not at all and besides a double date sounds like a good idea" he says smirking "Between you and me, it might help make Anakin feel more relaxed" he points out making her giggle "We could set a example for our friends" she suggests as Obi Wan lifts one of her hands to kiss "I look forward to it" he grins. Satine blushes "Until next Tuesday then" she says before she turns and he watches her walk away before he heads into his classroom just as she saw Ahsoka coming down the hallway.
"Ahsoka!" She calls out as Ahsoka waves over at her "You got the photo?" She asks sounding hopeful as Satine nods, unable to stop smiling. "I almost don't want to believe it and I would feel bad for my ex if he wasn't being so persistence and hadn't been an absolute jerk all those years ago" she admits as Ahsoka smiles "Well, I'd be happy to help you end your custody hearing with him and protect my friends" she says as Satine opens up her phone going straight to her photos finding the one of Korkie and Vizsla. She took a deep breath before she then asks
"So, is this the man who confronted and spoke to you outside the classrooms?" She asks turning the phone towards her as Ahsoka squints at the photo. Despite the smile, it was the eyes which told her that she was looking at the same person. Ahsoka slowly nods "It's him" she slowly replies tilting her head "And it's a little creepy seeing him smile" she admits. Satine chuckled "Believe it or not, his smile was one of the things that I liked about him" she says "I still can't believe he thought he could try and come back into my life, meet his daughter and then he would be so stupid to jeopardise his chances by sneaking down to the school to see her" she says as Ahsoka shrugs before she goes on
"Even though we still don't know who Obi Wan had the accident with, I still have my thoughts and I'm just glad to help you" she admits just as the morning school bell rang to start classes. "I gotta get to class before Anakin wonders where I am" she says "I'll see you this afternoon" she says as Satine nods "Thank you once again" she says turning to exit the building as Ahsoka headed to the classroom.
When Satine caught up with Padme outside the classroom building, Padme could see her friend had a huge smile on her face making her smirk "Well, someone's in a good mood" she teases "I take it Obi Wan said yes?" She asks as Satine nods "And Satine identified Vizsla as the man who came to the school trying to look in and then threatened them to stay away" she says as Padme then adds "Well, you cannot stop smiling so you know that this hearing will be over shortly" she says as Satine nods "And hopefully I'll be back in my own house" she admits before she looks over at Padme
"Not that I'm not grateful that you've allowed us to stay with you" she says as Padme shakes her head waving a hand "It's alright, I understand. I can't imagine what you're going through" she says adding "And it has been nice having you and Isabel and James in the house. I think Leia enjoys having her extended sleepover" she says as they reached their cars.
"I'll be sure to repay the favour when this is all over" she says as Padme smirks "Are you offering to babysit Luke and Leia at your place one night?' She asks as Satine smiles "Oh what ever will you get up then" she points out as Padme blushes "I'm sure it will involve a date night assuming next Tuesday night goes well" she admits as Satine nods "Let's hope so" she admits before they both got into the car and Padme drove them out of the car park heading off to work.
Taking advantage of their time visiting, Owen and Beru were spending the day alone together. They had stopped off at one of the city's restaurants for lunch and enjoy the stunning views of the city. "I can se why Anakin likes being here" Owen admits after they had just given their orders and the waiter moved off. Owen then goes on "Although I don't think I could live here permanently" he confesses as Beru slips a hand in his.
"Least we have a reason to visit" she goes on adding "And I haven't been to any city before" she admits before Owen lifts her hand to kiss it when he was then distracted by a conversation at another table a few meters away from them.
"Well, I can't say I blame them" the first voice spoke, it was a female's voice before she went on "They are both gorgeous and if I wasn't married" she admits as a second voice, also female spoke "I do worry about the children" she admits "If this continues and gets serious, they could show favourism to their children" she warns as another laughs "I'm sure that won't happen, Mr Skywalker and Mr Kenobi may be new to the school but I'm sure they're both fair teachers to all their students" she says
Owen's eyes widen - as he slowly turns his head glimpsing over his shoulder a small group of about five women. He turns back to Beru who was looking at him curious "What's wrong?" She asks in a whisper as Owen tilts his head to the table "They're talking about Anakin" he whispers as he tries to listen in once more.
"I mean surely both of them know they won't get any favours for their children by flirting with their children's teachers?" The second voice says as the first laughs "Well, from what I hear, seems like they've been receiving help from them already and that Mr Kenobi was in an accident which was why he wasn't at school during that shooting incident" she reveals as the second voice speaks again
"My daughter was so frightened when I picked her up. She wanted me to run to the car in case we were shot and to think it was one of their children caught up in that drama" she says as the first voice spoke "Well, I think as PTA members, we need to keep close watch on this in case we need to intervene" she says before she adds "I mean what they do away from the school is fine but on school premises we need to ensure it remains strictly about the children" she reminds them.
It was then Owen was curious and wanted to know about what they were talking about. So he got up and moved over towards the table of women. "Excuse me" he says seeing them all look up at him "I couldn't help but overhear you were talking about my brother, Anakin Skywalker and wanted to ask why you were talking about my brother?" He asks as the first women smiled up at him
"You're Mr Skywalker's brother?' She asks in surprise adding "Quite handsome too" she says as Owen shakes his head "Thanks" he replies "Now, why are you talking about my brother?" He asks as the third woman speaks "Oh you don't know?" She asks "It seems your brother has been flirting and enjoying the attention of one of the single mom's who's children are in his class" she reveals "We're just hoping it doesn't cause a problem with their teaching" she says as Owen shakes his head
"Anakin is a great teacher and I'm sure he knows what he is doing even if in the past, he has been reckless in the past, he won't do anything that affects his job" he says as the second woman spoke "Aren't you sweet to stand up for your brother?" She asks "Even if it seems he didn't say anything to you about his personal life" she notes as Owen rolls his eyes "Just leave my brother out of your gossip conversations" he says before he moves back over towards Beru.
"Everything alright?" She asks as Owen nods "I hope so" he admits "Although it seems Anakin has been making news himself" he says just as the waiter returned with their meals as Owen adds "This trip just got very interesting" he admits as Beru only smiles knowing that Owen couldn't wait to get him and talk to his brother about what he over heard just now.
"I'm feeling really good about how everything is turning around for me" Vizsla confessed that morning as he sat in his hotel room with Maul and Savage sitting at the table. They watch him smirk "I knew Bo would come around. She was one of the few family members who believed in our relationship" he explains as Savage exchanged glances with Maul who scoffs "Then when why did it take so long for her to contact you about this meeting with her nephew?" He asks as Vizsla shrugs
"Who knows" he replies "Years of listening to Satine bad mouth me probably didn't help however maybe Korkie convinced her to give me a chance because I am his favourite uncle" he boasts as Maul rolls his eyes as Savage then spoke. "Just don't forget the money you promised us" he reminds him as Vizsla nods
"Don't worry you'll get your money and then you'll be out of my life and can go back to doing whatever it is you were doing before" he simply replies. Maul glares over at him before he spoke "I just hope you are right this time because so far, you've failed to succeed in your promise" he reminds him as Vizsla looks over at him
"I got a good feeling about this. You weren't at that park, you didn't see how happy the kid was to see me and he'll put in a good for me to his mom who will tell Satine and she will end this custody hearing and take me back and I'll have access to get you the money you deserve" he promises as Maul then replies "Ensure that you do or Savage knows exactly what to do with you" he reminds him
Vizsla swallows the lump in his throat as he sees Savage glaring over at him, arms folded across his chest glaring over at him. Vizsla knew that didn't sound good and just like when he saw them kill the private investigator who was attempting to kidnap Isabel, he realised that if this didn't work, Vizsla was dead.
"You want me to meet your mother?" Ahsoka asks after Lux had just revealed he wanted her to come to a dinner with him at his mom's house the night before Thanksgiving. "Lux, we've only been together for a month now, are you it's not too soon?" She asks as Lux smiles taking one of her hands in his. "Ahsoka, I've not met a girl like you who I feel this serious or feel confident enough to introduce them to my mother" he says
"And we're having Thanksgiving with family out of the city so the night before Thanksgiving allows me a chance to see you one more time before we leave because we won't be back till after the holiday weekend" he explains. Ahsoka is silent for a moment. She hadn't had a serious relationship since moving to the city in which she met their parents although she did really love Lux and hoped this relationship would be the one.
"I've never met anyone's parents before. I've not had a relationship that has gotten to that stage" she admits as Lux shakes his head "I find that hard to believe" he says before he then asks "So, you'll come to dinner?' He asks as Ahsoka thinks for a moment before she smiles "I'd love to come to dinner and meet your mother" she says before she then asks "Do I need to bring anything?" She asks as Lux shook his head grinning "Just your sweet smile" he teases as they shared a kiss together. "Lux" she smiles just as Anakin entered the staff room with Obi Wan. Lux noticed how both of them couldn't stop smiling.
"They're looking rather pleased with each other" he notes as Ahsoka grins. She knew why they were smiling, they hadn't stopped smiling since they had seen Padme and Satine this morning. They had told Ahsoka during recess about what happened and how they have first days with Padme and Satine after Thanksgivings. Ahsoka looks back at Lux. "We can't tease them after not having dates now" she says as Lux's eyes widen. "Well, I hope they have the door closed on them when they got to pick them up" he says referring to when he went to pick up Ahsoka for their date.
Ahsoka giggles just as Anakin and Obi Wan joined them "What are you laughing about?" Anakin asks her curiously as Ahsoka shrugs "Just something funny Lux said" she simply replies before she adds "Although we notice how happy you both look" she says as Anakin exchanges a look with his friend. "Well, despite his parents coming here and my family already here, we're looking forward to Thanksgiving and afterwards" he says.
Lux then looks over at him "Your families are coming?" He asks "Now I wish my mother and I were staying here for Thanksgiving, we could have a joint Thanksgiving" he says as Ahsoka then looks over at him "Well, why don't we?" She asks adding "You and your mom have Thanksgiving with us and then you can leave to be with your family afterwards" she suggests as Anakin looks over at her with a look of what are you doing as Obi Wan shrugs "I'm fine with me, looks like it's going to be the first of many Thanksgiving with you Lux so why not start now?" He says
Lux nods "I'll speak to my mom about it together but she's always keen to meet my friends" he says just as his phone rings and he moves to answer it. Anakin then looks back at Ahsoka "What are you doing?" He asks as she looks confused "What?" She asks as Anakin goes on "It's too soon to be celebrating Thanksgiving with Lux, we've only known him for a few weeks" he says as Ahsoka gasps "Oh come on, you're not telling me that if Padme or Satine invited you both to their house for the holidays you'd go?" He asks as Anakin went silent as Obi Wan sniggers
"It's something different and fun" Ahsoka tells him before she adds "Besides, it looks like this could be the start of our new Thanksgiving" she points out as Anakin sighs before he shakes his head "Well, at least this week, it will show my mom I've made more friends" he admits as Obi Wan laughs "I think your mom's just happy you didn't continue to go on to be a bartender and became a teacher instead" he points out as Anakin rolls his eyes as Ahsoka giggles once more hearing Anakin go on "I think my mom's happy as long as I'm being safe" he says as Obi Wan laughs
"Just don't let her know about your driving skills" he teases sharing a laugh with Ahsoka just as the bell rang to signal the end of lunch. Anakin gets up to exit the staff room. "Well, then perhaps you two can find another way to get home this afternoon" he warns exiting the room leaving Obi Wan and Ahsoka still laughing before they moved to follow him. Sometimes it was just too easy to tease their friend.
"Padme, I wanted to see if you would help me on another case?" Bail asks that afternoon as Padme came back from lunch that afternoon. Padme looks over at him surprised "Another case?" She asks "Me?" She adds as he smiles "Well, you were so good helping me on the last one that I thought we could work this one together" he says "I mean, it will have to be after the holidays because I'm leaving with Breha this afternoon to stay with family but I thought if you have time, I could show you the case now" he suggests as Padme nods
"I don't have anything on now, I'll follow you to your office" she says seeing him smile before she follows him towards his office. Padme entered his office and took a seat in one of the seats in front of his desk as Bail sat in his seat behind the desk. He slid the file towards her "I only just received this case this morning and already something doesn't add up especially given this time they're only young" he admits. Padme opened the file and began to read the case notes. "Reckless driving, speeding, stealing" she begins to read before her eyes widen in horror
"Bail!" She exclaims "They're just kids!" She cried in horror "Han and Qira" she goes on "No last name? Are they brother and sister?" She asks as Bail shook his head "No, according to the Chief of Police, they're close friends, living together practically on the streets, no family and have been stealing to survive however this case says frame job to me" he says "And I want you to help me defend them against the prosecution who wants to lock them away because they believe they've had too many chances" he says as Padme then sees a photo of the two kids, Han and Qir'a, they were so long, not much older than Luke and Leia, maybe around 11-12 years old.
Padme nods "When can we see them to discuss the case?" She asks as Bail smiles before he sighs "Unfortunately there are no judges in session this week and the prosecution wants to keep them in jail but I was able to be granted temporary guardianship of Han and Qi'ra over the Holidays and next week there is a pre trial hearing however I was hoping next Monday you would meet them and we can discuss the case" he suggests.
Padme smiles at her friend - it was no secret that Bail and Breha wanted kids of their own and Padme still had hope that one day they would be parents and even two delinquents deserved to have someone looking after them even if they're just their lawyer. Padme closes the file and places it on the desk "Well, hopefully they don't cause you too much trouble" she says making him laugh. "It will be a big test for Breha and I" he says before he goes on "So, you'll take the case with me?" He asks as Padme nods.
"We do make quite the team" she replies adding "I'd be honoured to help you" she says seeing him smile before she gets back to her feet. "I'll talk to you on Monday, good luck with Han and Qi'ra" she smirks before she exits the office heading to her own office.
"It was in 1621, that the Plymouth colonists and Wampanoag Native Americans shared a fall harvest feast which we look at today as the first Thanskgiving that was celebrated throughout the colonies" Anakin explains as he looks out over the class. Ahsoka was standing at the black board writing notes for the class as Anakin smiles
"So today, we simply call it Thanksgiving and come together with our families to give thanks and acknowledge the hard work that the colonists went through and put aside their differences to come together" he says as he then goes on "So, I want you to now write about your best Thanksgiving memory and you can be as creative as you want because I know that you all probably can't remember many of them" he smirks seeing them giggle just as Leia raised her hand
"Yes Leia, you have a question?" He says as Leia smiles "Mr Skywalker, at the first Thanksgiving, did everyone sit at the same table or did the kids have to sit at the kids table like at my grandparent's house" she says as Ahsoka smirks over at Anakin who grins "Pretty sure that at the Thanksgiving it was just the one table" he says adding "You can write what ever you want in yours, you don't have to have a kid's table" he says as Leia glares over at her brother "Or fighting with your stupid brother" she says as Luke rolls his eyes tossing a rolled up piece of paper at her "Only because you are a bossy know it all" he says as Leia throws the paper back just as Anakin cuts in
"Hey! That's enough both of you, no throwing anything in this classroom" he says adding "Unless you want a time out" he warns seeing them go quiet going on "You may all begin work on your recounts till the bell" he says seeing them take out their notebooks and pencils as he moves over towards the desk as Ahsoka speaks "They sure do respect you. I mean you handled that situation easily" she says as Anakin shakes his head
"Still feels strange because discipline is not my style" he says as Ahsoka smirks "For what it's worth, it looked very natural" she says seeing him open up his laptop. "Guess watching Obi Wan teach is paying off then" he smirks as he sees a message from his mother. He smiles "Looks like we're all going home to a cleaner house and fuller fridge this afternoon" he says as Ahsoka shakes her head "How long will that last?" She teases as Anakin rolls his eyes "I can still change my mind about Lux coming to Thanksgiving" he warns seeing her nudge him "You can but your mom won't when I tell her" she points out.
Anakin shakes his head before he smirks "Well, I will say this, inviting Lux and his mother to dinner, is certainly showing how serious you are taking this relationship" he points out before he begins to work on his laptop as Ahsoka moved over to tidy up the arts and crafts section.
Obi Wan knelt beside Isabel's desk. "Everything alright Isabel?" He asks as she sighs "Everyone has fun Thanksgivings and I can't make mine fun because I have a small family" she admits as Obi Wan smiles. "Small families can still have fun times. I had many Thanksgivings with my small family which has given me many memories" he says going on "There must be one Thanksgiving you remember" he says as Isabel then smiles "I remember the first Thanksgiving with my little brother. My aunt let my cousin help in the kitchen and he burnt the pumpkin pie and my mom had to make a back up" she giggles
Obi Wan smiles "I think you found a story for your recount" he says getting back up "I look forward to reading it" he says before he moves over to another student as Isabel smiles to herself. Her family may have been small but she knew her mom and her aunt always tried to make every Holiday interesting and she couldn't for this year's Thanksgiving.
Thursday - Thanksgiving…..
Anakin, Obi Wan and Ahsoka had never had their house so crowded before although this was one of the first family events they were hosting. Shmi and Cliegg were in the back living room talking with Obi Wan's parents, Qui Gon and Bria while Ahsoka was introducing her parents to Lux's mother Mina as well as giving a tour of the house leaving Anakin and Obi Wan in the kitchen with Owen and Beru. Beru was helping both Anakin and Obi Wan ensure they didn't burn the kitchen down.
Owen smirks over at his brother. "I don't know what Ahsoka's talking about brother" he says "You seem quite the natural in the kitchen" he says as Anakin only shakes his head "You sound surprise, or have you forgotten how much of a good cook I was back home" he says as Owen nearly chokes on his drink
"Really?" He asks "Because I just remember that week you learnt how to cook nothing but macaroni and cheese and it was the only thing you learnt and we ate nothing back macaroni and cheese and when mom and dad came home, I begged them to take us out to a restaurant" he says as Obi Wan sniggers as he continues to work on the mash potatoes as Beru worked on the pumpkin pie. She looks over at Anakin and Owen
"I remember that week. Owen was messaging me to order pizza and have it delivered to the house because he was tired of macaroni and cheese" she says as Anakin glares over at his brother who shrugs taking a sip of his drink remaining quiet just as Ahsoka and Lux entered the kitchen once more.
"Good to see the kitchen's not on fire" she smirks as Obi Wan looks over at him "We learn quickly" he says as Owen grins "I'm just lucky macaroni and cheese is not a Thanksgiving dish" he teases as Anakin rolls his eyes before he turns holding up a spoon to him. "One more word and I'll ensure you only get macaroni and cheese today" he warns just as Shmi and Bria entered the kitchen.
"Everything smells so good in here" Bria comments as Shmi nods "I'm very much looking forward to sitting down and enjoying all this amazing food" she says before she looks over at Ahsoka and Lux. "Ahsoka, your parents are a delight and Lux, your mother is incredible. She and I were just talking about how we've both been single parents and how your mother also managed her career" she says as Lux nods "Thank you Mrs Lars" he replies "She's one of the top family law judges in the city" he reveals.
He then leans over to give Ahsoka a kiss on the cheek "I'm going to go get a drink, do you want one?" He asks seeing her shake her head "I'm fine for now thanks" she says as Bria then notices how red Ahsoka has gotten. "Oh young love" she comments "Reminds me of when Obi Wan first introduced us to Siri" she says adding "He was so in love with her" moving over towards her son "Is there another girl?"she asks as Owen smirks
"Not sure about Obi Wan, but I know Anakin's caught someone's eye" he mutters as Anakin's eyes widen as Obi Wan is silent as Shmi is surprised "What?" She asks "Anakin, you're seeing someone?" She asks as Anakin starts to nervously stutter "Uh, um…well,. Not exactly" he replies "There might be someone" he replies glaring over at Owen with a look of see what you've done as Shmi smiles over at her son.
"Oh well, I hope one day we'll get to the lucky girl. It's been so long since Darra" she says before she and Bria exited the kitchen once more as Anakin turns to his brother "What the hell Owen?" He asks as Owen shrugs "Well, from what I heard you have been flirting with one of the mom's at the school" he says going on "Beru can back me up, there's gossip going around" he says as Anakin exchanges a look with Obi Wan - it would appear that their interactions with Padme and Satine hadn't gone unnoticed by others although was that going to stop them, no, they were still looking forward to their dates next Monday with Padme and Satine.
Whilst over at Padme's parents house, Luke, Leia, Isabel, Ryoo and Pooja played outside in the backyard as James stayed close to his mother who was with his mother. Korkie was swinging from one of the trees whilst Jobal and Sola were working in the kitchen and Padme, Satine and Bo had just left the kitchen and were now with Ruwee in the living room where he was watching the football game. James was sitting on the floor playing with his toys he had brought over.
"I do not miss watching football games. Vizsla would spend the whole day watching it and interacted with no one" she recounts as Bo smirks "I remember the second year you both were dating and I was hosting Thanksgiving and you got mad because he refused to acknowledge the whole day" she says as Satine rolls her eyes before she takes a deep breath "I'm not going to let him ruin this day" he says as Ruwee then speaks up "Padme says you've filed for sole custody and he's been giving you a hard time with calling you and pleads" he says as Satine nods
"Yes but thanks to my sister and my nephew and a teacher's aide at the school, next week, hopefully this custody hearing will be over, he won't be able to apply again and he will never meet his daughter" she says. Ruwee nods "Well, I've known you for seven years as one of Padme's dear friends and seen you are a wonderful mother. You have two beautiful children you are raising so well and as far as I see it, Vizsla walked out on you when you were pregnant and you shouldn't take him back if you don't want to" he says
Satine smiles "Thanks Ruwee, that's very kind of you to say" she says looking down at James playing with his toys "I will protect my children always and just don't trust Vizsla and his pleads that he's now ready to be a father and can't put myself through the pain again when he takes off again" she says before she smiles "Besides, there may be someone else in the picture soon" she says as Padme smiles to herself as Ruwee smiles
"Well, I only want my daughter to be happy and she's a well respected lawyer and wonderful mother to my grandchildren and perhaps one day I'll have a son in law. I think Darred is getting lonely being the only one" he teases referring to Sola's husband making them all laugh as Padme blushes "Dad" she simply says wondering just how her dad would react when she would introduce him to Anakin, if that day happened, she hoped it was coming and was looking forward to her date on Tuesday with Anakin and hoping it was the start of something new for her.
"Dinner will be ready in 15 minutes" Sola called out as Ruwee smirks "Good, because I'm starved!" He calls back as Padme giggles "Dad" she smiles as James looks up at Satine "I'm hungry mommy" he says as Satine smiles before she gets up and bends down to pick him up "Let's see if there's something little for you to eat otherwise you won't eat dinner" she says carrying him away as Padme then looks over at Bo.
"She loves her children doesn't she?" She notes as Bo nods "Satine's always wanted to be a mother. When Korkie was a baby, she kept wanting to be the one to feed him and care for him, the money I saved on babysitters because Satine would watch him" she says as Padme chuckles just as Padme gets to her feet "I better go find Luke and Leia and get them ready for dinner" she says heading outside to where the children were still playing. Thanksgiving was one of her favourite holidays and time with her children because she knew next week was going to be big so she was going to enjoy the holiday.
Next time: It's Satine and Padme's double date with Anakin and Obi Wan and there are nerves and excitement all around, especially with Anakin still thinking about the gossip going around the school, Padme and Bail meet with their new defendants Han and Qi'ra with Padme realising Bail may be right about them being framed, Satine's custody hearing comes to a close and unfortunately for Vizsla it's not good. How will Maul and Savage react?
