Day 3 – "You're everything I could've wanted and more."

Hailey's eyes fluttered close and a soft moan escaped her lips as Jay moved to kiss along her inner thighs. She released her fingers from his hair to blindly trace the edge of his ear. He squeezed her left knee before lightly sucking just above her right one.

"No, no," she breathed with a shudder and returned to weakly tugging his hair.

Jay hummed against her skin then looked up at her chest still slowly rising and falling as she caught her breath.

"C-Can't do it right now," Hailey moaned and let her head fall to the side on her pillow.

Jay smiled partly in how proud he was of himself to absolutely wreck her, but mostly because of how beautiful she looked in that moment. He pressed one last soft kiss to her knee then slid up to cradle her to his chest. His fingers were gentle as they brushed through her hair and down her neck - much different than they'd been for the last hour.

Hailey pressed her face into his throat and whispered, "I love you."

Jay chuckled and tightened his hold on her, "I love you too."

Hailey's eyelashes lightly tickled Jay's skin as she slowly came back to reality and grounded herself in the feeling of his heart pumping under her hand.

Jay felt her fingers begin to swirl along his chest and glanced down just as she began to lightly tap her way to his waist. "And what do you think you're doing?" he smirked.

Hailey softly laughed and reached up to kiss under his jaw, "I'm still a little shaky, but I think I can repay you now."

"Mm," Jay smiled, "Only if you're sure."

"Oh," Hailey teasingly scoffed, "Jay Halstead, I am very sure right now."

His smile widened as he rolled onto his back and pulled Hailey on top of him. He happily watched as she settled over his hips. Both of them moaned softly at the feeling before Hailey used her right hand to steady herself on his stomach. Just as she was about to lift herself up, she lost her balance and slipped to the side.

With a laugh, she twisted to the left and gripped Jay's thigh, "Oops."

He softly laughed with her and reached up to grab her waist, "What's going on up there?"

"Might still be a little foggy," Hailey admitted, "Maybe shouldn't have had that third whiskey sour at dinner."

"I'm insulted that you're blaming the alcohol and not my talent," Jay teased.

Hailey rolled her eyes and laughed harder, "Trust me, you definitely have more to do with it than the alcohol."

"Good," Jay chuckled, "So maybe I take the lead on this one? You can try again tomorrow."

"Oh my god," Hailey lightly shoved his chest, "You are so into yourself."

Jay smirked and gently tugged her down so he could kiss her, "I'm very into you."

Hailey smiled against his lips then whispered, "Pretty sure you haven't been in me in at least twenty-four hours."

"Dammit, Hailey Anne," Jay laughed and squeezed her sides, "Well, we can't have that, can we?"

"Not at all," she breathed before sliding her tongue along his bottom lip.

Jay sat up while staying connected to her and lightly dragged his fingers along her skin until they were settled on her waist. His thumb stroked slowly back and forth as Hailey battled for dominance in their kiss. She finally bit his lip in triumph and smirked as he gave in.

"Did I tell you I bought a new lingerie set?" she whispered against him.

Jay chuckled and slipped his fingers down to grip her tighter to him, "You did not, and I'm a little disappointed that I'm just now hearing about it. Where was it during our date?"

"It's red, it would have shown through my white top," Hailey said before trailing her lips down his throat.

"I don't have a problem with that," Jay moaned.

"I do," Hailey lightly nipped his ear then carefully climbed off of him, "Be right back."

Jay groaned, but still laughed as she slipped from the bed to her closet to grab a bag that she brought to the bathroom. He rubbed his face and settled back against the pillows to wait until she returned in full force.

The bright red stood stark against her skin as she slipped back over to him with a slight smirk. "Like it?" she asked.

Jay wrapped a hand around her waist so his fingers could play with the soft ribbons resting on her hips. "Love it," he corrected.

Hailey laughed softly before leaning down to kiss him.

Jay was lost in the feeling for a moment - her lips molding against his own, her nails scraping down his arms, her silky outfit sliding along his chest. It was more than anything he'd dreamt of with her. He wrapped an arm around her back to hold her close while rolling them back over amongst the blankets.

"Jay," Hailey laughed, "This was supposed to be me giving back to you."

"Just hush for one second," Jay chuckled and kissed her, "Let me take it all in."

Hailey wanted to fight back, but then Jay began kissing down her front and who was she to deny that.

Jay's lips and tongue weren't as hungry as they'd been before, and he took his time to truly tease and dance along her. At this slower speed, he could really take in each occasional freckle or birthmark that he'd seen before but still hadn't properly appreciated. He reached her hip and lifted her slightly with his thumbs pressing just under her stomach when he saw it.

Just poking out from behind her back wrapping over onto her hip above his thumb was a soft pink scar in a slightly jagged line. He hesitated and brushed his thumb over it knowing he'd had to have touched that spot at least a dozen times in just the last ten minutes let alone the last ten weeks of their relationship.

"Jay," Hailey breathed and bucked her hips, "Come here. I want you."

He ignored her, though, and continued staring at the scar. He slightly rolled her to the side so he could get a better look at it. The scar was probably three inches in length with the last half inch on her front. It had to have been old just based on the color and how it almost blended into her skin, but it was still there gracing her permanently like her few scattered freckles.

When he turned her and didn't answer her statement, Hailey had a feeling she knew what was happening. All thoughts of sex slipped from her mind and she tried scrambling away from his curious fingers.

"Hailey," Jay sat up to grab her, "Hey, hey, it's okay, I'm sorry, I just hadn't noticed it before."

Hailey shook her head and weakly attempted to push his hand off her hip, "It's nothing, okay?"

Jay raised an eyebrow, "Hailey, it's not nothing."

"It's in the past," Hailey tried desperately, "Jay, let's…let's go back to us, please."

Jay pursed his lips then slowly shook his head, "I love you."

Hailey's eyes widened just slightly then glanced down to where his thumb was still resting over her scar.

"And I want you," Jay continued softly, "You're everything I could've wanted and more. I want your past and your present and your future. Please."

Hailey took a deep breath and squeezed her eyes shut.

Jay waited for a beat then scooted closer to her to hug her tightly. His hands soothed over her back as she sank into him with each breath he took.

He didn't know how long they sat tangled up together on the bed and was half convinced she'd fallen asleep when her hand twitched against his chest and she whispered, "I was thirteen and wearing my first bikini."

Jay's eyebrows furrowed together, but he didn't say anything and continued rubbing circles over her lower back.

"It was light blue," Hailey sniffled, "And I wouldn't even call it revealing. It was more like a sports bra and boy shorts, but I loved it. I thought it was cute and made me look grown up. My friend and I had gone to the store and picked them out for the big end of school party at Jason Andino's house because he lived close to a pool."

Jay chuckled and rested his chin on the top of her head.

"I came home and put it on to show my mom and that just happened to be the same time my dad came home," Hailey continued quietly, "He'd had a bad day, something about a broken jar of olives, and decided to take it out on me; I was too young to be in a bikini. My mom stood up for me and told him I was old enough and he was going…he was going to hit her, so I stepped between them just in time for him to slap me across the face and send me into our stupid, ugly glass dining table. The corner's really sharp when you hit it with your bare skin flying across the room."

Jay closed his eyes at the thought and his hands stilled on her back. His fingers lightly pressed along her spine, but otherwise he did and said nothing.

"He stopped," Hailey cleared his throat, "There was a lot of blood. My new bikini was ruined. We weren't allowed to go to the hospital, so I was patched up with some gauze and a handful of 'I love you's and 'I'm sorry's. I didn't go to the pool party not just because my bikini was ruined, but because no makeup could cover the burst blood vessel in my eye." She sat up with tears in her eyes, "It wasn't the first time he'd hurt me, but it was the first time I should have gone to the hospital." She wiped her face and took a deep breath, "So there's that. There's my scar story. It's not as interesting as yours, but," she shrugged while placing her hand over the circular scar on his shoulder.

Her finger traced his scar at the same time his thumb brushed along hers.

"But you're beautiful," Jay softly finishes for her, "You are, Hailey. I know you probably hate this little bit of you because it's a cruel reminder of your past, but it does not taint you in any way."

Hailey blinked against the tears in her eyes and whispered, "Jay…"

"You're beautiful," he repeated, "I promise you that."

Hailey closed her eyes as his words washed over her then nodded just the slightest amount.

Jay's lips tipped up in response and he kissed her forehead. He then slipped down to press a kiss to her own lips just barely pouting at the memory still reliving itself in her brain.

Hailey lost herself in the feeling then slid her hand down over his heart, "I'm sorry for ruining the mood."

"You didn't," Jay shook his head, "If anything, you made me want you even more."

Hailey skeptically raised an eyebrow, "Stop lying."

"I'm not," Jay kissed her again before slowly pressing her back into the pillows, "Let me love you. Let me show you how beautiful you really are."

The tears again pricked at Hailey's eyes. She swallowed a lump in her throat and tried talking, but nothing came out.

Jay began untying the bow resting over her sternum until the red fabric fell away from her and onto her white sheets. "Most beautiful, strong, brave woman I know," Jay breathed while leaning down to kiss her slowly.

He situated himself between her legs as Hailey accepted his motions. She moaned when he began sucking at her collarbone and closed her eyes.

Jay was good at many things - cooking a cheeseburger, fixing the work printer, kissing her when she least expected it - but he was best at reminding Hailey that her past didn't break her or tarnish her, he knew how to help her accept herself. Always.
