Naruto had eventually opened up to his mate about the nightmares he'd been having. Sasuke had naturally worried, slightly upset that Naruto had carried this all on his own, not wanting to worry him. Naruto had insisted that his reasoning was just that he thought it would eventually go away and didn't want to bother Sasuke with it. The selfish idiot had a big heart and always looked out for everyone's well-being before his own. Naruto had never shared with Sasuke the details of what had happened and the alpha had never asked Naruto to share more than he was willing to. But sometimes Sasuke wished he knew exactly what went through his mind.

He'd promptly installed the updated security system and it gave Naruto some peace of mind. He didn't feel like he was being watched anymore and he'd finally been able to sleep peacefully and focus on the baby growing inside him. He was already 3 months along and no one besides Gaara knew about his pregnancy. The omega had told Sasuke he wanted to keep it a secret until he felt better.

Now the blond didn't look as sickly and had finally agreed that he wanted to tell Sasuke's parents.

They reached Sasuke's parent's home and Sasuke grabbed Naruto's hand after he shut off the engine, "Remember, don't blurt it out as soon as you see them. We have to wait for the right moment."

Naruto waved him off, "Yeah yeah. Let's go!" He excitedly closed the door and was ready to run to the front door when Sasuke pulled him back by his elbow. The blonde glanced behind him.

"Be careful!" Sasuke chastised him, earning him a frown from the blonde.

"With what?"

"You're running!"

The omega rolled his eyes at the ridiculousness, "So? I'm excited!"

"It's dangerous for the baby."

Naruto scoffed, "Dangerous? People exercise during pregnancy."

"Doesn't mean – "

Deidara swung the door open as soon as he saw them through the glass, "About time! I'm starving." His forehead glistened with sweat and his blonde hair was in disarray, spilling out of his ponytail.

Itachi placed a gentle hand on his mate's waist, "Love, you have to move out of the way."

Deidara gently smacked Itachi's chest with a huff, "Shush."

They headed to the kitchen in unison, taking a seat at the breakfast table overloaded with food. Ridiculous amounts of food.

Mikoto visibly brightened when she saw Naruto and Sasuke, grabbing Naruto and planting kisses on his cheeks, "Oh my dear I missed you!"

Naruto hugged her with a grin, "I missed you too." He looked at the amount of food on the table but he wasn't feeling particularly hungry. His appetite wasn't fully back but he was eating more than he used to when he was having the nightmares.

Sasuke grabbed his hand and leaned to whisper in his ear, "Remember, don't blurt it out."

The blonde rolled his eyes again but nodded.

Fugaku came in from the backyard and joined them, picking up his coffee and taking a sip. He pointed to all the food.

"Eat up. All of you. There's a lot of food."

They all promptly sat, and Naruto noticed that Reo and Riku were missing. "Where are the boys?"

Deidara pointed to the outside, "They're still out playing. They already ate." That explained why Deidara looked close to getting a sunburn.

Mikoto scooped some food on her plate and cleared her throat, "So catch me up! What's – "

"We're having a baby." Sasuke felt the words spill out before he could stop them. The excitement bursting in his chest.

Naruto turned to Sasuke incredulously, "Really? You're the one who told me not to blurt it out." Sasuke apologized and kissed Naruto's hand.

It only took a beat before Mikoto's squeal erupted. "Are you serious?!" She hopped in excitement, hand on her heart and close to tears. "Oh you two. This is incredible. I can't believe it."

Deidara hooted in excitement, playfully smacking Sasuke's back, "Damn didn't waste any time did you."

Fugaku beamed at the news, well as close to beaming as his usually stoic face could make him. "What good news!"

"You know what this means! We have to start planning and shopping Deidara." Mikoto looked through her purse, pulling out a notebook and a pen.

"I told you, you guys are going to spoil the baby," Naruto mumbled playfully. He knew what he was getting into from the beginning. Naruto loved them, but they could be a little… extreme. It wouldn't surprise him if they had everything they'd need for the next 4 years before the baby was even born.

"Nonsense, we Uchiha do not spoil." Fugaku gruffed out, as if the mere idea was absolutely preposterous.

"You rented out a whole theme park to celebrate Reo's birthday." Naruto had his list but Fugaku was ready to counterargue.

"It was his birthday."

Naruto held out two fingers as he started counting them, "You took us on a private jet to Snow Country when Gaara randomly mention he'd never seen snow."

Mikoto piped in with a big smile, "We needed him to experience it! Everyone should experience snow."

Deidara decided to team up with Naruto, "Itachi, you bought me my favorite art shop as an anniversary gift."

The Uchiha family looked at Deidara and Naruto as if their gifts made perfect sense. They were just giving them things from the heart, not spoiling.

Naruto and Deidara eventually just looked at each other and cackled. At the end of the day they knew who they married and the family that came along with their spouses. Despite the extravagant gifts, they also received a lot of love and affection and for them, that's what ultimately mattered.

"We love you guys. And we will love our new member too." Mikoto started tearing up all over again. "I can't believe it. More kids! How exciting."

Now Naruto just needed to tell his own parents. Who would probably react just like the Uchiha, except louder.

The tender moment was broken when Obito waltzed into the kitchen holding Rin's hand and waving it around. He was dressed in all black, looking like a hitman.

"Guess who's married!" He singsonged as he showed off his own wedding band.

He didn't receive the reaction he thought he would when Fugaku scowled, "You did not."

Obito nodded with enthusiasm, "We did!"

Fugaku stood up from the table and was about to smack Obito, "Boy have you lost your mind?!"

Obito didn't really understand the big deal. Yet. "What? Why?!"

Itachi leaned back in his chair, a smug smirk plastered on his face, "Where did you do it?"

Rin blushed as she recalled the wonder drunken night, "We went to Tanzaku Quarters."

Naruto recognized that name. Tsunade loved visiting there. "The gambling city?"

Fugaku pinched the bridge of his nose. "Have you told your mother?"

Ah, there it is. Fugaku rolled his eyes. The moron finally understood the weight of the situation.

Obito saw his life flash before his eyes. Despite the glorious spur-of-the-moment wedding, he'd forgotten one critical detail. His mother.

His mother who would kill him when she realized Obito got married without inviting her. Without telling her.

Rin tender cupped Obito's cheek and gave him a gentle smile, "I'm sure she'll be understanding."

Itachi smirked, enjoying Obito's dismay. "As understanding as Obito skipping her birthday to go to a friend's party."

Obito paled, "She didn't talk to me for weeks!"

"Exactly, now imagine you got married. Without her presence and knowledge."

Obito's eyes widened in fear, "What will I do?!"

"Should've thought of that earlier." Sasuke scoffed, joining the conversation with an evil grin.

Naruto snapped his fingers, an idea popping into his head, "What if you do a ceremony and just don't tell her?"

Mikoto tskd but agreed with Naruto, "It's not a bad idea. She just can't find out."

It seemed it was the day everyone was coming to surprise them because Shisui showed up with Gaara in tow. Gaara had a small blush on his cheeks, clearly embarrassed at having Shisui holding his hand in front of everyone. The relationship was still relatively new and he wasn't used to the affection Shisui radiated.

Naruto perked up when he saw the redhead, "Gaara! Why didn't you tell me you were coming?"

Gaara let go of Shisui's hand and hugged Naruto's shoulders so the omega didn't have to get up to greet him, "I didn't know you were here."

Shisui's tilted his head as his eyes shifted between the Obito and everyone else. "Why is everyone looking at Obito all weird? I know he's ugly but – "

Itachi placed his chin on his fist and continued to smirk in satisfaction. He was clearly enjoying this, "This dumbass decided to elope in Tanzaku Quarters."

Shisui gaped, "Oh shit Obito what about your mom!?"

Obito pulled at his hair in distraught, "I don't know! Fuck fuck fuck."

"Can't there be one day in this family without something chaotic happening?"

Naruto narrowed his eyes at Sasuke's comment, "Excuse me? I didn't realize us announcing we were having a baby counted as chaotic." Now it was Sasuke's turn to pale. Naruto's temper had been extra short since he became pregnant.

Shisui gasped in excitement, "You're having a baby?!"

"Yes, can we focus on that instead?" Obito crossed his arms and leaned back against the wall. Rin murmured in his ear, trying to soothe her husband. Reminding him that everything would be okay.

Naruto bit back a yawn and Sasuke ran his fingers through Naruto's soft hair, "Sleepy?"

Naruto nodded as he tried to blink away his sleepiness. "I need a nap."

Mikoto looked at the blonde with a worried frown, "You barely ate sweetheart."

The omega shot her a comforting grin, "Don't worry I'll eat after a nap!"

"Come on." Sasuke grabbed his hand and they went to cuddle in Sasuke's old bedroom. The alpha lifted the covers, holding his arms open as Naruto rested his head on his chest. Sasuke wrapped his arms tightly around the omega and Naruto quickly fell asleep. Comforted by his alpha's scent and warmth.

Naruto woke up groggy as his brain tried to wake up from the incredible nap they'd had. Sasuke had been awake for far longer, as he was currently on his phone texting Itachi.

He heard loud metal music coming from down the hall and he glanced in the direction, "Am I still dreaming, or is that metal music?"

"It's music. You hungry?"

"Starving." They got up and headed to the kitchen, where the sound was getting louder. Itachi stood against the wall with his arms crossed, glaring at Deidara and their kids.

Reo and Riku were jumping, twirling, and screaming to the music as Deidara joined, holding a wooden spoon and trying to growl the lyrics like the singer was doing.

"Is this Akatsuki?" Naruto recognized his cousin's voice through the speakers.

Itachi solemnly nodded, "They've been listening nonstop since they met him. All the lyrics are about hatred and despair."

Naruto shrugged, "Well his stage name is Pein so…"

"Don't remind me. They already want their own stage names."

"At least it's an artistic expression?" Sasuke tried to helpfully add but Itachi continued to scowl.

At dinner, Naruto wolfed down the grilled meat Fugaku had made. He'd felt absolutely starved and Mikoto looked on fondly. She'd been insisting he eat more for the baby's health and Naruto had promised he would. Then his mother started joining in on the fussing when she'd arrived during dinner.

After chastising Naruto for not telling her about the baby sooner, Naruto pulled her to the side and explained why he'd wanted to wait to tell her specifically. While Mikoto didn't know anything about his past, Kushina would understand what he was going through. He opened up and told her about the nightmares as Kushina's eyes filled with worry.

She hugged him tightly and rubbed his back, "Promise you'll tell me if they come back? Maybe going back to therapy would be good for you if they continue."

"I think so too. I'll let you know."

He worried his lip as he got the courage to ask something he'd been wondering for a long time. In all his nightmares it was dark and there were gaps in his memory. "What was I tied to?"

Kushina froze. She hated speaking about those times and she hoped Naruto never remembered the details.

Her voice trembled, "He had a pulley system with steel chains against the wall."

"Oh." It explained why his body, and his wrists particularly, were sore when he woke up from the nightmares. Naruto didn't say much after that and Kushina didn't push it. She hated even thinking about Rasa and the damage he'd inflicted on both Naruto and Gaara. The night terrors, the wetting the bed, the copious triggers and fears they'd developed.

For the rest of the night, Sasuke wondered why Kushina didn't stray far from Naruto.
