"Venus"

Her fingertips were gentle as they applied the thick facemask on her face. Sally was unsure what was in the facemask, as Amy had made it herself, but it smelled nice and went on smoothly, so she decided not to stress herself out over the little details.

Rouge's knees were brushing against the column of her back, leaning over her a bit as finely manicured hands deftly parted and curled her hair, placing each finished piece into black and red rollers (so you can match your beau's color scheme, hun, she had teased her gently with a knowing look in her teal eyes).

Opening her eyes, and she briefly pondered when exactly did she close them, she found herself staring into Cream's warm, chocolate-colored eyes, and her lips were tugged into a smile instantly. Glancing to the side, she saw Blaze sitting on a stool, a bemused look on her face as Amy was applying a facemask on her as well. She might've seemed put out, but the contentment that gleamed in her golden eyes said otherwise.

Focusing her attention back on the adorable bunny in front of her, and wow, Sally could hardly believe Cream was now a teenager, she saw the nail-polish, a bold, red color, in her hand, and she held her hands out, an answer to her unspoken question. The cheerful smile she got in returned made her heart swell with affection.

It was nice chilling with the girls in Rouge's lavish apartment. It was chic and savvy, much like its owner, but also cozy and quaint. She was the one who suggested they all have themselves a self-care day, and that they all hangout and unwind together and have a sleepover, and it just blossomed into to this fun, bonding time between the four of them. Sally always looked forward to Fridays because of it.

It was nice to feel welcomed, to have this sense of home and belonging. That wasn't to say that she didn't love her blood family because she did. Her and her older brother Elias were especially close, and she adored her niece Alexis. And she did love her kingdom, and she did have wonderful friends back home, but somehow, it felt different compared to the closeness she felt with the girls, and not just them. Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and the rest of the gang each had a special place in her heart.

Although, she and Shadow shared a different closeness than what she shared with everyone else, and oh, how she hated how such a thing made her heart race like a roaring engine, how her face was alight with a blush that burned hotter than a flaming furnace.

"Are you alright, Sally? Your face is awfully red." Cream's voice was laced with concern, and just when Sally was about to assuage her worries, Rouge, ever the opportunist, took said opportunity to tease the daylights out of her.

"Oh, Creamy, she's fine. If anything, she's sitting her thinking about Shadow and got herself all hot and bothered," Rouge smirked, teal eyes gleaming with barely concealed mirth. Cream blushed, clearly understanding what was being implied, while Blaze looked affronted at Rouge for talking like that in front of Cream (oh, fuck off, blaze. it's not like i outright said anything! that's besides the point! you shouldn't be saying anything along that particular subject matter!), and Amy was trying, and failing, to muffle her laughter in the palm of her hand, pink quills fluttering around her like flower petals in the wind.

Sally eased herself of the stool once her hair was finished and her nails were finished being painted, taking Cream by her hand and leading them into the kitchen so that she can rinse her face, smoothly avoiding the bubbling altercation between the unbothered bat and irate cat that the bubbly hedgehog was trying to mediate and defuse.

Hopefully, they'd get it out of their system in time for them to order dinner. She had a hankering for sushi. Shrimp tempura sounded lovely right about now.
