Author Notes: Hello! Again thanks for the feedback that some of you have given me. I have the source material for Overlord and reincarnated as a slime but sometimes I mess up since I can not remember everything. So your review helps a lot in my writing thank you! :)

Boyzilla (Beta Reader) Notes: Thanks for supporting his work. He's incredibly new to writing, although I help correct his work, I do not write it for him. So mistakes in characterization or other mistakes new authors make might still appear. Again, though, it's still way better than many other fanfictions starting out!

FAQ

Can Ainz learn skills from this world?
- No he can not learn skills that are from the world of Reincarnated as a slime, but he might be able to grow more powerful in other means. "Not leveling up"

Why are Ainz and Rimuru so trusting?
- Ainz doesn't trust Rimuru and Rimuru doesn't trust Ainz. They are only "traveling" together for now because they have no one else to talk to. Ainz is traveling with Rimuru because he wants to gather information and only for that purpose. Rimuru is traveling with Ainz because he is curious about Ainz; and didn't want to leave him inside the cavern alone, Rimuru also didn't want to leave the cavern alone as well.

Why is Ainz interested in where Pandora's Actor is? So in canon, Ainz doesn't mind that much?

- In the world of Overlord, Ainz doesn't care about Pandora's Actor because all the other guardians are there. In this world, the Tomb of Nazarick does not play a part, and instead, the only three people transported/reincarnated into this world are Rimuru, Ainz, and Pandora's Actor. However, Ainz wants to find Pandora's Actor because he believes he was also transported to this world and it would be beneficial to find his own creation.

The Overlord in the world of Reincarnated as a Slime

Chapter 2: A Journey with a Strange slime!

Pandora's Actor awakens inside a forest, he's surrounded by all sorts of things, tall trees, bushes, flowers, and rocks all around him. He's curious about how he got outside of the Tomb of Nazarick, but he knows one thing: he must find his creator Lord Momonga as soon as possible. He can still feel that he's alive and present somewhere but is unaware of a given direction to head off to.

"Supreme Being Lord Momonga… I will find you, It may take a while but I will once serve you again… No matter the price that it must cost!"

Pandora's Actor gives off an over-exaggerated pose. Then he starts to think about his surroundings and why he was separated from his creator.

"However it seems like I'm in a strange area, it's weird how I was not transported to the same location as my creator? No matter, I'll search for him now!"

Pandora's Actor starts to walk off in the direction that he believes to be the best to find his creator Lord Momonga.

As Ainz and Rimuru walk through the forest, the Overlord takes in the environment of this world.

Nature is so much more beautiful than in YGGDRASIL, even the sky with its radiate light blue glow is as clear as day, something he never had seen in the real world. All he wished to do is sit under the stars and watch as the night went by taking in all the beauty that it may present.

'Blue Planet would love to see everything that this world presents, his artificial sky on the 6th Floor always gleamed with a sense of pride and his love for nature. I still remember the days I spent with him, everyone thought of ways to improve the artificial sky, gave advice, and worked for the resources. Those were the days… Sadly, it had to end so soon… may I see you someday again, Blue Planet….' His thoughts wander back to days past.

Suddenly both Rimuru and Ainz are forced to come to a stop as they hear many footsteps approaching them… A party of around thirty goblins appears in front of them, and they seem to be shaking in fear.

'Huh? A small party of goblins out randomly in the forest? They don't seem in any fighting condition with tattered clothing and awful weaponry. In YGGDRASIL, goblins varied between mid and low-tier mobs. Does this world only possess low-level mobs? If so, then that mitigates many dangers… No, no, I can not think of that now; I have yet to explore this world and what lies in it.'

"Mighty ones! Stop, please!" One of the goblins shouted to Rimuru and Ainz to grab their attention.

"Do you need something?" Ainz replied, hoping that they don't so he isn't disturbed with his information gathering, but he knows that they most likely will bother him.

"Yes, mighty ones! We wish you to come back to our village! It is not far!" The goblin explains frantically, trying not to anger what they see as powerful individuals.

Rimuru and Ainz look at each other… Then, take a few steps back and start speaking about what they should do.

"I believe we should go with them? We have nowhere else to go, and I'd find it interesting," Rimuru suggested.

"I don't know, and it is best to be cautious as we just left the cavern. We do not know what could be ahead of us. Even though they look shabby, they might have a cunning leader," Ainz countered.

Or maybe not… A cunning leader wouldn't show such a lack of resources to his people. The equipment they wore was of horrible quality. But at the same time, they might be deceiving.
"However, Rimuru, if you decide to go, I will go with you. I do not want to leave my current companion behind," Ainz said.

'I think I should take some countermeasures before I enter their village; maybe I'll keep [Invisibility] on hand just in case they're leading us into a trap. However, I don't know if I can fully trust Rimuru yet, even as a fellow Heteromorph. I haven't yet checked his power [Silent Magic: Mana Essence], [Silent Magic: Life Essence].'

Ainz attempted to see Rimuru's mana; however, he could not seem to see it. He reasoned it wasn't due to any anti-detection such as [False Data: Mana] but instead perhaps used a different energy source, like Ki that [Monk] Job Classes used. However, when Ainz used [Life Essence], he could see that Rimuru had a modest amount. Ainz is in a bit of a shock but reasoned that perhaps the slime was more mid-level than he assumed previously. He figured Rimuru is around the low forties given the amount.

'Interesting… he does have a bit more HP than I expected; it seems no matter the race, anyone can always grow stronger in some way. I'll have to look into this. There might be a way I can grow stronger in this world as well..?'

Rimuru was curious about why the goblins wanted him and Ainz to go to their village. He thought about exploring the world but then figured it wouldn't hurt to at least humor the goblins' request.

Rimuru looked at Ainz, and Ainz waved his hand casually. Then, the reincarnated slime recalled what Ainz said and made his decision.

"Alright then! We will go to the village with you! But one thing hit me, how did you find us?" Rimuru questioned.

"Well, Master Slime, your aura, sir, it's massive and powerful," The goblin explained.

'My aura? Hey, Great Sage, can I see a third-person perspective of me?'

The Great Sage replied, 'Changing Perspective.'

Rimuru's vision shifted, and he saw his massive aura reaching far and high.

'Huh! Wow, I was walking around the entire time with that! How did the three humans inside the cavern not see that? They must be dumb; Great Sage, is it possible to reduce my aura?'

'Answer: Yes,' Sage replied.

'Please do that!' Rimuru replied.

Rimuru's Aura mitigated, now hardly showing and no longer flushing out of his body; with that finished, Rimuru and Ainz started to follow the goblins.

Rimuru does not know what is ahead of them, but he believes in how shabby the goblins look that they're no threat at all, and he could easily take them if need be. However, he did not want to resort to violence and instead wanted to make friends with the goblins he had met.

'Hey Great Sage, how high are their Magicules? Rimuru asks.

'Answer: The Magicules of the goblins you see in front of you are extremely minimal and do not pose a threat to you,' Sage replied.

'Well, that's good, so that means I can travel with them without worry! Wait… Great Sage?' Rimuru said.

'Answer: Yes?' Sage replied.

'I don't sense Magicules coming off of Ainz at all, is there a way I can sense his strength other than Magicules?' Rimuru asked.

'Answer: There is one way to get a measurement of his strength; it does not involve sensing his Magicules but involves fighting him yourself and taking notice of what physical damage you can cause to him.' Sage responded.

'Well, I don't want to do that! I don't want to anger someone who I have no idea about his strengths or weaknesses! So I'll just have to ask him later!' Rimuru replied.

Rimuru and Ainz start to follow the goblins to their village, and slowly but surely, a small village starts to come into view. They enter the village together, but disappointedly, the village seems to be run-of-the-mill. It appeared more like a collection of rudimentary shacks.

"Stay here please while I get the elder," a goblin requested.

"What do you think of this place, Rimuru?" Ainz inquired.

'What do I think?' Rimuru starts thinking to himself while looking around at the place.

"Well, I think it's a camp; it doesn't seem like a village to me, it seems too small, and the houses seem like they're breaking down. The clothing that most of the goblins are wearing is worn down and torn." Rimuru answered the undead.

"Indeed, your observation is correct, it needs more structure, and if not, they are surely going to collapse to an outside force," Ainz commented.

"Indeed," Rimuru responded.

'It's nice to see that Ainz cares about my thoughts… Even if it's a little, maybe a friendship between us can form? Yeah! That'd be rather nice then. I wouldn't have to worry about him attacking me.' Rimuru thought.

The goblin comes back with an older-looking goblin holding a wooden cane, hardly able to stand.

"Welcome to our small village; I hope you find our welcome to be good enough. Please follow me into my house." The Elder said.

Rimuru and Ainz follow the elder into his home, where they all sit down and start to discuss current events.

"Now that we've all settled down, please tell us the history of your village and where we are, as well as why you wanted us to come here?" Ainz asked, determined to get information that could be useful to him.

The elder goblin trembled a bit from Ainz's imposing presence, "Well, our village is not big, and the history is quite small, so I'll explain the keen details, we are in the Forest of Jura, it's a large forest that stands as a buffer zone between multiple countries. The reason why we wanted you two to come to our village is that we have a favor to ask…." The Elder explained.

"A Favor?" Rimuru questioned.

"Yes, our village is in a troublesome area; a pack of dire wolves threatens our village… We tried to defend ourselves, but even the best of our warriors got hurt in the conflict. We are utterly defenseless. It gets worse because we believe they will attack again soon..." The Elder said.

'Ahh… so that's why they wanted to come to the village, they wanted us to solve their problem.'Ainz thought. 'Dire wolves, though? Again another low-level mob from YGGDRASIL is usually extremely low-level; however, this world is different. I'll have to see their strengths when I come across them in the near future; it'd be interesting to see what they look like and how they respond to situations.' He reasoned that aiding them for the purpose of gathering information, as well as experimenting with Tier Magic, might be worth his time.

"So what do you want us to do?" Ainz asked.

"W-well… We'd like you to fend them off for us." The elder responded.

"What do you have to offer me and Rimuru in return?" Ainz asked.

"W-well…" the elder stuttered. "We have nothing, sir… We can only offer our loyalty." The elder finished.

If they have nothing to offer but their loyalty, then they must be in a horrible situation. However, getting the loyalty of a small village of goblins might be beneficial in the future. Maybe I can flip this village over into something more prosperous.

"Well! No matter, we will help you," Rimuru answered suddenly.

"Eh?" Ainz said, stunned by the slime's offer.

'That was out of nowhere; he didn't even talk to me before saying he'd help this village out. Even though I was going to do it any way he could have asked! Ugh… no matter, I'll attempt to help but not much.' The Overlord thought.

"Oh thank you! Thank you, mighty ones! We are in your debt, we promise to be loyal to you~!"

Rimuru continues talking with the goblin elder, "You mentioned some of your warriors were injured in a conflict, did you not?" He inquired.

"Yes indeed, my Lord, they were injured, would you like to see them?" The elder questioned.

"I would like to see them," Rimuru said.

Mentally, Rimuru slightly panicked, 'W-when did I start to be called Lord! This is an extremely high rank-up all of a sudden!'

"I'll just explore around a bit, Rimuru, we'll talk later," Ainz said, motioning his head for them to go ahead.

Rimuru and the goblin elder traveled to what was designated the medical hut, here multiple goblins lay down, in various injured states, some almost on the brink of death's door.

"They are all the victims of the dire wolf attacks. Some of them have little time left to spare," the elder explains.

Rimuru gets an idea; he jumps onto one of the goblins, he had managed to create various healing mixtures or potions earlier in the cavern. He pulls out a blob of the potion liquid and splashes it on top of the injured goblin. The goblin is miraculously fully healed of all his injuries, the goblin got up in shock when he lost all his cuts and wounds.

'It worked! The elixir from the Hipokute Herbs managed to heal the goblins! Now to do the others!'

Rimuru starts going around splashing healing potions on each goblin, healing them right back up to full strength. The elder is shocked by this realization that Rimuru, the slime before them, can heal everyone inside the room. The elder and the other goblins appreciate all his efforts, but one thing still stands, how will they stop the next dire wolf attack.

But while healing the goblins, Rimuru thought up a potential idea.

"Hey goblin elder, create a fence around the village! I'll attempt to fight the dire wolves, but the village needs some defenses!" Rimuru said to the Elder.

Seeing no better option and relying entirely on their newfound lords, the Elder gathered able-bodies around the village and started construction on the fence...

Pandora's Actor saw a pack of wolves with grayish coats heading in a direction that intrigues him but decided to ignore it, prioritizing his goal to find his creator Lord Momonga. He heads in a completely different direction going further and further away from the pact.

However, he then stumbles upon a massive group of demi-human orcs, with heavy armor and decently-created swords. They were heading somewhere, and they seemed to be battle-ready if starved.

'I think I should follow this large group, it might lead me to my creator in the long run, and if not maybe I could gather some information about this world and the geological layout of this part of the area. And if all that fails, I can find some cool items to collect and maintain. I bet Lord Momonga would be pleased for me to keep up my job!'

Pandora's Actor follows by keeping his distance far away enough so that he is not detected by the large group of Orcs… Though by what he spots, the orcs seemed to be heading towards a village of humanoids.
