Chapter 3 – Aversion to Order

Four beings were sitting on the luxurious thrones while they were listening to a silver-haired maid who was busy reading the content of the paper she held in her hands.

Sitting on the left side was a bald man in his thirties who had a face that showed he doesn't want to be here. He let out groans often like he was bored and ignored everything. But in reality, the man was listening carefully to the maid.

He was Falbium Asmodeus. One of Four Satans who was responsible for Devil's Military and Defense.

On Falbium's right side was a handsome man with green spiky hair. He put his chin on his palm as he was paying attention to the maid speaking. His dark blue robe was one of the expensive treasures in Underworld.

He was Ajuka Beelzebub. The Satan who was responsible for the Technology and Internal Affairs of the Devils. He was also the creator of Evil Pieces.

Next was a handsome man in his twenties with long crimson hair who was listening to the woman calmly. He wore a majestic cape with metal pads on his shoulder. And his posture was like a real king with his charisma leaking out from his entire body.

He was Sirzechs Lucifer. The strongest Devil and the leader of Four Great Satans who oversaw every affair of the Devil's government.

The last was the only female Satan. She had a cute face with a quite small body, yet her bust was in favourable size. Her adorable figure wrapped in a green blouse was opposite to the power she held like it was there to deceived her enemies.

She was Serafall Leviathan. The Satan who was responsible for External Affairs.

"And because of Kokabiel Incident, Heaven is inviting the representative of three factions to hold a conference to discuss the incident and the action that the Biblical Faction will take for the future. The Emissary of Heaven also informed that Fallen Angels Faction – Grigori – had agreed to participate in the conference."

The Four Great Satans took interest after the silver-haired maid had finished the report.

Two days ago, a Cadre of Fallen Angels had launched an attack on Kuoh Town to lure the Satans and starting another Biblical Great War.

Rias Gremory's Peerage and Sona Sitri's Peerage had tried to stop Kokabiel. However, he proved too much for them to handle.

As the Satans couldn't move to avoid a casus belli, Falbium did his best to contact strong Devils who had no position in government to aid them in defeating Kokabiel. His choice was Diehauser Belial and his peerage. Sadly, they were still recovering from their match in Rating Game and couldn't move immediately.

When the news reached Serafall's ears, she immediately prepared to go to the human realm to defeat Kokabiel because she was worry about her sister, Sona Sitri.

Fortunately, Sirzechs was able to stop her and they could avoid waging war between Three Biblical Factions.

In the end, the Governor-General of Fallen Angels – Azazel – sent someone that had no tie to Fallen Angel's government to stopped Kokabiel.

As a result, Kokabiel was captured and the worst could be prevented.

"Good work, Grayfia. You can rest for a while. We will discuss this case," said Sirzechs with a smile on his face.

His words could be interpreted as he was asking the silver-haired maid – Grayfia – to leave the room to prevented any leaks of their discussion.

But in truth, Sirzechs was genuinely asking Grayfia to rest because he was worried about her stamina. Grayfia was already working hard from gathering information about Kokabiel Incident to receipt the Emissary of Heaven and reporting to the Four Great Satans.

"Let me refuse your kind offer, Lucifer-sama. I am here to support you. As such, I can't leave your side to rest while you are still working."

Grayfia immediately refused his offer with a stern expression on her face.

"But –"

"Just let her be, Sirzcehs. It is her wish to be by your side. Moreover, we don't have much time. The Emissary will come again tomorrow to receive our answer regarding the invitation."

Ajuka cut Sirzechs' words as he felt that his conversation with Grayfia wouldn't end soon if he let them continue. It was not the first time for them, after all.

And it was true that they didn't have much time before the Emissary of Heaven visited them again.

Usually, an emissary would stay for days in their territory. But because their relation with Heaven was not good, the Emissary decided to not staying in Underworld and would come again tomorrow.

"Ajuka is right, Sirzechs. Let just begin our meeting."

"Yes. Let's begin quickly and end it quickly. I don't want to stay for too long."

After Serafall and Falbium spoke their minds, Sirzechs gave up and starting the meeting immediately as Grayfia took her respective position behind Sirzechs.

"I understand. Then, let us begin. First, please give me your opinion about this conference plan."

Serafall was the first one to give her opinion.

"I think it will be a chance for us. By participating in the conference, we can hear the alibi from Grigori's side about Kokabiel's attack in Kuoh. We also can learn the reason why the Angels want to hold a conference of Three Biblical Factions. And the most important thing is we can share our thoughts on an official meeting while everything is recorded."

After Serafall was done, it was Falbium's turn to shared his opinion.

"Speaking of their reason, I think there's a possibility that Heaven wants to ally with the other Biblical Factions. Because of Kokabiel, the information about God's death is now leaked out and maybe the other factions have learned about it. If other factions learned about God's death, there is a possibility that one of them will try to attack us to take over our territories on Earth. And if a war occurs, I fear all factions will participate themselves, making the scale much bigger and could very well spell the end of the world."

"I agree with Serafall and Falbium. However, the problem is the nobles. If Heaven really wants to ally themselves with us, there are some nobles who will disagree and opposing the idea of an alliance. In fact, some nobles in our Satan Faction have demand us to take any action in response to Kokabiel's attack on Gremory's territory on Earth. Gremory Clan is one of our supporters, after all. At the same time, the Great King Faction is just observing our move regarding this event."

These were the three major factions that influenced the majority of the Devil Nation in Underworld.

The most powerful faction was the Satan Faction. It consisted of nobles who supported the Four Great Satans and had a massive influence on Devil's society.

Next was the Great King Faction that consisted of the nobles who supported the Bael Clan.

In the past, Bael Clan was the one who started gathering armies for fighting the original Satans' descendants in Devil Civil War. However, they couldn't get a throne in the new Four Great Satans. As a way to showed their dissatisfaction, they took the role of the opposition party whenever they thought the Four Great Satans made questionable decrees.

Of course, they wouldn't use any violent actions to oppose the Four Great Satans because of the combat power of the Four Great Satans and the marriage between the current Lord Gremory and Venelana Bael.

While the Satan Faction was powerful, they couldn't let down their guard as the Great King Faction also had a great influence on Devil's society.

Bael Clan possessed a great title, a huge amount of wealth, big territories on Underworld and Earth, and great respect from the people that made a quite large number of nobles joined the Great King Faction.

A small mistake might be toleratable, but the bigger mistake made by Four Great Satans could shift the power balance of three factions in Devil Nation.

The last was the Neutral Faction. It consisted of nobles who didn't take part in the power struggle but still had a respectable influence in Devil's society.

The amount of power of each faction was 60-30-10 if it was recorded in a simple percentage.

"If we agree to form an alliance, I know you will have a way to convince the nobles of Satan Faction, Ajuka. For the other nobles, the only way to convince them is to hold a meeting between us and the upper-nobles of their faction. The problem is the demand from the nobles of Satan Faction. They want us to attack Fallen Angels or for us to demand compensation for Gremory Clan. However, asking for compensation can be a bad move and has the potential to destroy any chance of alliance. And we surely can't wage war on them. But if we don't meet their expectation, I fear some of them will put their distrust towards us and move into Great King Faction," responded Sirzechs to Ajuka's words while looking at Serafall.

Sirzechs hoped that Serafall would have an idea to solve the problem with Fallen Angels. And his hope was not betrayed when Serafall said,

"Leave the negotiation with Azazel to me. I have an idea on how to make Grigori pay the compensation for Gremory Clan without making them lose too much face. But, my idea can only work if we form an alliance or at least introduce a trade agreement."

"Please share your idea later, Serafall. Now, with all that said, I can take that all of you agree to accept the invitation to the conference?"

Ajuka, Falbium, and Serafall immediately gave Sirzechs a positive response.

"Good. Then, I and Serafall are the ones who will be participating in the conference. I swear that we will bring a great result."

"Yes! We will!"

Ajuka and Falbium nodded at their words. They trusted their co-workers and it would be no doubt that they would do their best for the sake of the Devil race.

"Then, before we move into the next subject, I'd like to hear your idea, Serafall."

With a wide smile on her face, Serafall nodded and started to explain her idea to made Fallen Angels pay the compensation for Kokabiel's action.

The three male Satans were amazed after learning Serafall's idea. It was so brilliant and would benefit not only the Gremory clan, but all Devils included.

"As expected of you, Serafall. After learning what the Grigori have and Azazel's character, you immediately know what payment we should ask for compensation," said Sirzechs complimenting Serafall.

"Well, we must give our thanks to Falbium and his men because they are the ones who found information about Grigori," responded Serafall.

"Well. Even if it's bothersome, it's still my job, after all. However, the Fallen Angel Faction is worrying me."

All of their eyes narrowed after that statement from Falbium.

"Indeed. They are gathering a lot of Sacred Gear wielders and seem to run some experiments about the Sacred Gear itself. I can take that the strongest Sacred Gear wielder from Grigori is the one who defeated Kokabiel, the White Dragon Emperor, isn't it?"

"Unless they are hiding their ace, then that is the case, Ajuka," responded Falbium.

"However, we also have the Red Dragon Emperor on our side. Issei-kun maybe not strong enough yet, but he has a lot of potentials. Matter of fact, the Phenex Clan chose to not bother the Gremory Clan because of his Sacred Gear. Lord Phenex sees his Sacred Gear as something that will bring benefit to Devils in the future, so he didn't pursue the matter of the broken engagement between Riser Phenex and Rias Gremory," added Sirzechs.

"Ah. I still remember the uproar caused by the nobles after that broken engagement incident. It was a disaster."

They chuckled a bit after hearing Ajuka's complaint.

Phenex Clan was one of the nobles in the Neutral Faction since they had a great business which brought a lot of income to the Clan.

By forming an engagement between Rias Gremory – the heiress of Gremory Clan who supported Satan Faction – and Riser Phenex – the third son of Lord Phenex –, they hoped to bring Phenex Clan into Satan Faction.

But because of Hyoudo Issei's action, the engagement was broken. Although Phenex Clan had stated that they wouldn't pursue the matter, they also wished to stay in the Neutral Faction.

As a result, the nobles of the Satan Faction put their distastes not only on Hyoudo Issei but on Rias Gremory as well. Some of them even left to the Great King Faction.

They cursed Issei for ruining the engagement and Rias Gremory for not controlling her subordinate.

Though there were some nobles who still held a grudge towards both individuals, the official apology from the Gremory Clan, Sirzechs, and Ajuka had lessened their hostilities.

"It's not that I don't understand their feelings, though. Phenex Clan possesses great wealth, power, and influence. It's a shame that we can't bring them into our Satan Faction. If they join the Satan Faction, then we have a potential to lessen the Great King Faction's influence," said Falbium with a sigh.

"Oh. Speaking of potential, we also have new additions. New names had appeared on the Goetia Monument this night. And two of those names are from Rias Gremory's Peerage and Sona Sitri's Peerage."

The Goetia Monument which was mentioned by Ajuka was a huge wall that listed the name of all Devils currently in existence. If a Devil died, then the name would be crossed.

It worked like a database that kept the names and total population of Devils. It was manufactured by Ajuka after the introduction of Evil Pieces.

It was a great system. However, it was not perfect since it couldn't recognize traitors. In other words, they must do an investigation themselves to determine traitors.

If they recognized someone as a traitor or a Stray, they usually put an 'X' behind the name manually and would record it in a different document.

The Goetia Monument also wouldn't register Devils automatically.

For Pure-Devils, they must bring the newborn baby to the Devil Census Bureau office and register the baby by touching them with a crystal that was connected to Goetia Monument's system.

For Reincarnated-Devils, the master had to put a magical sigil in the new-reincarnated individuals so their name would be registered on the Goetia Monument.

Another weakness of the system was it wouldn't record the appearances of Devils. So, Devils had to give their photograph to Devil Census Bureau and create their unique ID card.

Sirzechs and Serafall showed curious expressions on their face. Ajuka and Beelzebub understood the reason why they were curious. It was about their sisters' peerages, after all. Then, Sirzechs asked,

"Who is the new member of Rias' and Sona's peerage?"

Ajuka smiled at him as he answered,

"The one who joins Rias Gremory is Xenovia Quarta, the Durandal user that was mentioned in the report by Grayfia. Meanwhile, the one who joins Sona Sitri is an unknown name for me. I think he is a former ordinary human. His name is Haneda Yuuga."

"Oh! A Durandal user! Your sister is talented at gathering incredible individuals, Sirzechs." commented Falbium.

"Mou, Falbium-chan! My Sona is also talented, you know?"

"Hahaha. Thank you, Falbium. And you are right, Serafall. In terms of brainpower, I hate to admit that Sona is more talented than Rias," said Sirzechs happily to his friend before consoling the depressed Satan.

Ajuka also let out his thoughts on this case.

"Indeed. And Sona Sitri probably will not be adding some random human without thinking beforehand. Probably, this Haneda Yuuga has remarkable talent or a Sacred Gear inside his body."

Serafall let out a smile as she heard Ajuka's words.

"Yes. I believe so. Then, we'll just have to wait for this Haneda Yuuga to show his worth. I hope that a great future will come to him and my Sona, as well as everyone in her peerage."

Sirzechs nodded as he agreed with Serafall.

"That's why we must work hard to ensure their future. Now, then. Let us continue on the next subject."

[LOCATION CHANGE – BROUGHT TO YOU BY… an unemployed idiot of a Beta]

Yuuga stretched his body as he was done with the stages of his experiment.

Thanks to that, he now knew how to take out items from his Inventory and how to use his abilities.

What was strange was the absence of a magic circle when he activated his Spells.

He didn't know the reason for the magic circle's absence and he didn't care about it either as the magic circle in YGGDRASIL was only a part of special effects in the game.

He also learned to control his physical power so he wouldn't break any fragile things he touched.

Not only that, he found out that he could wear extra equipment in his human body.

His avatar right now was already equipped with his favourite equipment. And then his human body could also wear equipment from YGGDRASIL, making him feel like he was cheating.

But, for the sake of not gathering too much attention, he would use that anomaly only when he truly needed to.

Today's result would be more than enough in other people's eyes. He managed to learn many things in just a few hours, after all.

However, he was not done yet.

"「Call Moderate Planar Ally – Shadow Wizard」"

The dimension tore and opened like a gate as he activated the Skill. Then from the gate, appeared a black cloak figure with a black wooden staff in its hand.

The figure had no face and its body was just like a humanoid shadow figure.

[Call Moderate Planar Ally] was a Skill he got from Gate Knight Class. By sacrificing some of his HP, he could call creatures from a Planar Realm to aid him.

Not just that Skill, but all of the Gate Knight's Class Skills were required HP sacrifices to activate.

According to in-game Yggdrasil lore, in exchange for Supreme Planar's assistance in a form of power and soldiers, a Gate Knight should payed by sacrificing some of his life force, which translates to HP.

The one he called right now was Shadow Wizard.

It's a variant of a Shadow Celestial that focused on Support Spells to buff allies and debuff the enemy. Although he also could launch attack spells, at its rather low level of 40, for Yggdrasil standards anyway, it was considered weak in terms of a DPS troop.

"What can I help you with, O' Contractor of the Planar Realm?"

Its voice was hoarse and could terrify weaker beings if they heard it.

However, being a Level 105 as well as its summoner, it wouldn't be appropriate for him to be affected by its voice's effect. Even if he was weaker than it, the voice's effect wouldn't affect him since he is an Undead – that gives immunity to Fear.

"I need you to help me with an experiment."

"I will do what you ask as long as it doesn't kill me."

Yuuga couldn't help but feel nostalgic after his statement.

He remembered when he tried to 'call' a Level 20 planar creature to fight against a Level 98 boss monster. The creature immediately went back to its realm and it made all members of Evil Adorer laughed so hard.

Creatures from the Planar Realm that were called by a Gate Knight had a chance of disobeying certain commands. It was noted in the lore that it happened because any creatures from the Planar Realm were not a possession of the Gate Knight, but were the Supreme Planar's property.

As the Supreme Planar didn't like his properties sacrificing themselves for others, the creatures were told to not obey any commands from the contractors that could severely endanger their own lives. They would even retreat back to their own realm if they were about to die.

Despite these drawbacks, however, Planar Realm summons offered much more utility than normal mindless summons. It was the reason why he chose to use this Skill instead of his other summoning Abilities which could only summon obsessively loyal drone-like creatures that could only follow simple commands and lacked versatility.

"Okay. Now, cast 「Haste」on me."

Shadow Wizard did what he asked and cast a buff Spell on him. However, he didn't feel the Spell working.

He then turned off his [High Tier Physical Immunity] and [High Tier Magic Immunity]. But, his Magic Defense stats still prevented the effects of the Spell.

"This is troubling. I kinda deduced that Friendly Fire will always be active. But I never thought that I can't even receive Support Spells from lower Level ally because of my Passive Skill and Stats."

Shadow Wizard said,

"O' Contractor, your body rejects my Spell. To ensure my Spell works on you, you must accept it."

"What do you mean by that?"

"Your brain thinks of me as an ally, but your soul does not. By having your soul think of me as an ally, your body will immediately accept the buff Spells directed at you."

Placing his chin on top of his palm, he began thinking of its words. Shadow Wizard made it sounds easy, but it was hard for him to grasp the meaning.

If it was in YGGDRASIL, the system would make him could receive Support Abilities even from lower Level beings as long as they were his ally.

He was sure of it because it was not the first time he used Shadow Wizard to support him while having a huge margin on their levels.

Not only that, summoned creatures would be automatically considered as an ally in YGGDRASIL.

"Soul. System. Thoughts. Hmmm..."

"It is complicated. Undead has no soul. We 'live' via Negative Energy from grudge or evil deeds according to the YGGDRASIL lore."

He sighed as he was giving up thinking.

"Then, your Negative Energy have to think that I am your ally."

Suddenly, he remembered something and it was giving him an idea, although he didn't know why he could get the idea in the first place.

Before coming to this world, he was an ordinary human. He had no knowledge about supernatural things. However, the 'he' right now was capable of understanding supernatural subjects.

"Is it because the lore has become real?"

To confirmed his doubt, he then asked a question to Shadow Wizard.

"Tell me something. Is there a Planar Realm in this world too that makes me can call you even when I'm not in YGGDRASIL anymore?"

Shadow Wizard explained,

"There is only one Planar Realm. It is in a world where no one can reach. It can, however, connect to any contractors in any world they live in. I thought you already know that since you made a pact with the Supreme Planar."

"As I thought."

Now, it was clear that the lore had become real. The thing Shadow Wizard explained was the lore of Planar Realm in the game.

However, if the lore became real, was that mean Planar Realm and Supreme Planar became real, too?

The effect he brought when coming to this world was much larger than he thought.

"This is bad. This is really bad. If Planar Realm becomes real, then it means that the Chaos Realm has become real too!"

Chaos Realm.

It was the realm which [Chaotic Arcana] originally came from and was researched by people who wanted to become the Chaos Mage class for absurd gains in their magic power.

It was the realm that nothing could survive in if you were not natives of the realm or had the Chaos Master Job Class who naturally had [Erratic Soul] and [Chaos Mastery].

Just the energy from Chaos Realm – which was pure chaotic – would drive anyone insane if they didn't have [Aversion to Order] and [Chaotic Arcana]. Meanwhile, the natives of Chaos Realm were simple-minded creatures that could only bring chaos to all realms they stepped in.

That was why, in the lore, anyone who wanted to become a Chaos Mage needed to have aversed themselves to any order in the world before they could start their research about the arcana of chaos.

While in the game, a Player needed to kill Paladin Players and Priest Players sixty times each before they could go to a place called The Rift in order to defeat three Boss Monsters; the Guardian of Order, the Warrior of Order, and the Observer of Order. After they were defeated, one of them would drop an item called Book of Chaotic Arcana that could be used to become a Chaos Mage.

Of course, the ones who could become a Chaos Mage were the Players who had a negative Karma Value exceeding 450, such as himself. The difficult prerequisites were a sign of how much rare the Job Class was.

The reason he was afraid of the existence of Chaos Realm was because of his Special Ability called [Chaos Portal].

It was the ability to open a portal that connected to Chaos Realm and let the creatures of chaos rampage in the outside realm.

In the game, the creatures that came out from the gate were only ninety beings that had Level 60 – 67.

But, what if when he used that Ability, the creatures of chaos that came out would be more than it was supposed to be since the lore had become real? Or more powerful, since they were supposed to now be able to bring forth the incarnation of Chaos itself?

Just imagining it had already made him shuddered in fear.

"I haven't experimented with my Special Abilities yet. I will do it if I have no other choice, but I think I'll stay far away from that for now."

He then looked away from Shadow Wizard and told him,

"You can return to the Planar Realm for now. I wish to do something else later that may require your services, but for now, thank you for heeding my call and helping me."

Shadow Wizard nodded and opened a gate to its home. Before it stepped into the gate, it said,

"I hope you can do something to solve that problem from earlier. If not, the weaklings like me can't support you in a battle."

Then, it disappeared to Planar Realm.

"Well. Thanks to the knowledge of Chaos Master, I think I can solve that problem."

It might sound like he was too full on himself, but he had an idea to solve his problem of not being able to receive buffs from allies.

After all, he was a Chaos Master who had mastered the 'Magic of the Soul' as was described in the YGGDRASIL lore window regarding his Job Class.

When Players became Chaos Wielder, they could choose one of the Six Themes (or skill tree branches as it is called in other RPGs) of magic arts to be studied.

Those Six Themes were,

Space. In the game, it was a theme to learn Spells related to space and dimension manipulation as well as passively increasing Agility and giving immunity to space and dimension-related attacks.

Time. In the game, it was a theme to learn Spells related to time as well as giving a Passive Skill that gave them complete immunity to time-affecting Abilities and shortened the cooldown time of every Spell.

Reality. In the game, it was a theme to learn Spells related to the illusion that could even bypass Resistance as well as giving a Passive Skill to be immune to any illusion Abilities of the enemy.

Mind. In the game, it was a theme to learn Spells related to mind-affecting attacks as well as increasing maximum MP and giving immunity to mind-affecting attacks.

Power. In the game, it was a theme to learn Spells related to increasing power. It also gave Passive Skills that would increase Magic Attack, Magic Defense, and Resistance. Basically, a perfect pick for Players who were focusing on power but also wished to give support.

And the last was,

Soul. In the game, it was a theme to learn Spells related to the soul, as well as giving a Passive Skill that gave bonus EXP when defeating the enemy and giving Instant-Death Immunity.

Come to think of it, wasn't this based on a movie that was really popular back in his old world a couple of centuries ago? Avengers: Checkmate or something? Karzala didn't care for those old 'classics'- their graphics had aged very badly and were laughable, at least if they were compared to the graphics in his time. Who spent their time watching films when they could live through one using VR technology anyways?

Anywho, when they became a Chaos Master, they would gain access to the most advanced Spells of their chosen theme but rendered themselves unable to utilize anything other than the basic Spells of the other themes. Hence his inability to buff himself and the need to rely on summoned creatures to buff him.

Because he wanted a role as a wild-card in the party, he had chosen the Soul as his theme so he could resurrect dead Party members even though he was not a Priest-type.

His build was proven a success. He became an almost all-around-type Player, minus the ability to heal others – though resurrection abilities kind of mitigated that flaw – and supporting others.

The combination of rare Job Classes – Gate Knight and Chaos Master, also its prestige classes – placed him in the upper portion of competitive top-tier Players.

He couldn't help but smile as he recalled when his friends complimenting his build and he thanked them greatly for helping him obtain Chaos Mage.

If he didn't have their support back then, he was sure that his current build would just be another dream for him.

After he was done with his nostalgia, he lay down on his bed and threw his consciousness to the realm inside the Soul's Sphere.

He was wrong when he said Undead had no soul. It obviously had a soul that made them 'live' as the Living would but just in another form.

And it was the Negative Energy. It replaced the role of the soul when the Undead raised from their graves.

[Aversion to Order].

In the game, it was a penalty that would decrease 5% of his physical attacks when he was wearing light armour and decreased 10% of his physical attacks when he was wearing heavy armour.

But in the world when the lore had become real, that Passive Skill was more than giving him a penalty.

By making his 'soul' aversed to the order in this world, he could technically break some fundamental rules of the world.

It had a limit, of course. He didn't have the power required to rewrite the rules of the World, after all. But all he needed was a little modification of the way his 'soul' worked. And luckily, as a Soul-themed Chaos Master, the rules he was modifying was the domain of which he was unparalleled – according to game lore anyway – at manipulating.

As for what exactly his little modification would help him achieve?

With his now improved Negative Energy, he could receive any support-type abilities from his summons – of course, minus healing Spells – and those who genuinely regards as his allies, even when they are dozens of Levels lower than he is and he had his immunity on.

It was his greatest achievement so far after awakening inside this new body, causing him to be both proud and amazed by himself.

He didn't notice it, but his action made a certain entity feel his power, despite his aura being concealed with the help of the Ring of Nothingness. And when he met with that entity, he would be forced to make a decision that would greatly affect his future.

As soon as he had confirmed that he could receive Support Spells even from lower Level beings, he began to move into the next experiment.

It was to call out his Sacred Gear.

As Sona Sitri said, the effective way to called it out is to imagine the strongest thing in his opinion. Then, imagine that strongest thing in its strongest form.

However, that didn't mean that he could easily call it out. To make it easier, he must have supernatural talent or be in a place surrounded by supernatural energy.

But, it wouldn't be a problem for him right now. He had aware of his condition. A being that had supernatural powers inside his body.

Closing his eyes, he started to imagine the strongest thing in his opinion.

World Eater.

The One who Devours Many Worlds. The Strongest World-class Enemy who could devour the World Tree with ease and YGGDRASIL's strongest single unit.

It was an ultra-colossal Dragon with dark scales as dark as the void. It possessed six colossal and long tails, eight crimson horns, four pairs of large wings, and the scariest crimson eyes.

Because it was so big, a giant would look like an ant compared to the World Eater.

Evil Adorer once encountered World Eater in the middle of their journey in Jotunheim. It was just flying in the sky, but its presence made them teleport back to their base instantly.

In YGGDRASIL, it would only start eating the World Tree when True Surtr had done destroying Asgard.

It was a Ragnarok event that was planned by the Devs. The Players only needed to defeat True Surtr before he destroyed Asgard to prevented World Eater from devouring the World.

However, the event was canceled due to the death of the game popularity.

There was a time when an alliance of fifteen Guilds challenged the World Eater. But, the result ended with their devastating defeat.

World Eater was undefeated from the beginning to the end of YGGDRASIL.

Just imagining the World Eater in any form would be enough. It was the strongest existence that couldn't be defeated even when it was sleeping, after all.

Then,

"「Immortal Wings」"

Two flame pillars appeared on his back. Then, pair of large metallic golden wings sprouted as the flames disappear.

The wings looked like the wings of Phoenix he saw in the realm inside Soul's Sphere.

{Congratulations, Yuuga! You have successfully call out your Sacred Gear – Immortal Wings – for the first time! After this, you can call out your Sacred Gear anytime with ease!}

Phoenix sounded happy when she announced it to him. It seemed like that she was glad that the wielder of her Sacred Gear could call it out easily.

{Thank you, Phoenix. Now, can you tell me of its abilities one more time?}

{Of course! The special abilities are it can regenerate your body, health, and magic power, it can manipulate the fire of Phoenix – yours truly, and it can regenerate others' bodies, health, and magic power as well. You can also fly using those wings like a bird! However, you can't activate multiple abilities at the same time. Remember that!}

{Hmm. But, can I manipulating fire while I'm flying using these wings?}

{You can. Flying is not one of the special abilities, after all.}

It was really good news. If this Sacred Gear could be used to fly, then he wouldn't need to waste his MP to cast [Fly] when he needed it.

{Now, what is the cost to activated those special abilities?}

{It will consume your stamina. It can regenerate magic power, after all. It will make no sense if it consumes your magic power. However, the regeneration abilities will cost a large amount of stamina. You can pass out from fatigue if you're not careful with stamina consumption.}

"Eh?"

He was shocked after he heard her explanation.

If the abilities were activated by consuming stamina, then he could use those abilities as long as he wanted.

He was an Undead.

He had unlimited stamina and could never feel tired.

"This is a cheat item if it is in an Undead's possession."

The laughter of joy came out of his mouth, making Phoenix confused about what was happening.

Of course, the feeling of joy didn't last long since his emotion was being suppressed by his Passive Skill.

{How can I move these wings?}

Phoenix answered,

{Just think of them as your extra limbs. It should be easy.}

He silently cursed her as he received a simple answer.

It might be easy for her because she was a bird, albeit a mystical one. However, he was a former human and he didn't have any experience of using a pair of real wings.

His brows furrowed as he tried so hard to make the wings move.

They moved a little. But, the movement was so clumsy and rigid.

Fifteen minutes had passed since his first try at moving the wings.

There was no meaningful progress. It was harder than he thought it to be.

It was so funny for him.

He could modify his very 'soul', yet he was struggling so hard to make a pair of wings flap a little.

"Let's just stop here. I will use [Fly] instead of using these damn things, for now."

He let out a sigh as he raised the white flag.

Phoenix laughed at him and commented,

{Hahaha! This is hilarious. I never thought anyone could be as bad as you are at this!}

Hearing her laughing so hard just made him more upset.

He really wanted to punch her right now. Unfortunately, his Undead Skill prevented him from doing that.

Ignoring her who was still laughing at his misery, he cast a Spell on his Sacred Gear.

"「All Appraisal Item」"

The information about his Sacred Gear couldn't be seen in front of his eyes, but it was sent instantly to his brain.

This is what happens when he uses appraisal-type Spells in the outside realm. If he was doing that in the realm inside the Soul's Sphere, then a window that listed the information would appear just like in the game.

"Hmm. She's telling the truth about this Sacred Gear's abilities. It is really good. The wielder only needs to sacrifice a great amount of stamina to activate its ability, just like she said. It is so amazing that it is classified as Divine-class Item. However, if an Undead is the one who wields this Sacred Gear, it can rival a World-class Item by its function and compatibility. This Sacred Gear will be hard to use by the Living though."

When the Spell's effect had ended, he then made his Sacred Gear disappear as he was done with it.

"This Sacred Gear, Immortal Wings, is a very strong item. I will hide it from others unless it's necessary to use it."

His last experiment for today had begun.

Looking at his chest while he put his hand under his nose, he was checking whether he was breathing or not.

Surprisingly, his human-Devil body was breathing even without him noticing it.

Undead didn't need to breathe. So, he thought that even his human-Devil body wouldn't be breathing since it carried the abilities of his avatar. But, he was wrong.

He also had checked that he had a pulse and his heart was beating normally.

That means, he was an anomaly.

Smiling bitterly, he once again reminded that he was a strange entity in this world.

His existence itself had an aversion to the order in this world.

However, he didn't care about that as he felt how fresh the air is around him compared to the polluted one in his old world as he opened the window.

It was then his dream to live freely in this world became stronger, and the bitterness at his enslavement simmered quietly at the back of his mind.

An alarm from his mobile phone rang. It was four in the evening. From the memory of the real Haneda Yuuga, he had a shift from his part-time job at five.

Sighing again, he looked up at the sky through the window for another minute before moving on with his new life.

Note:

About the location change thing, the beta wrote it by himself. LMAO.

He also helped me improve this chapter. He is an excellent individual.

And thank you so much for reading this fanfiction.

It surely has many flaws, but I hope you enjoy it.
