Chapter 22 Dog Day Afternoon
A.N. – Halfway point! After this chapter concludes only 15 episodes left and I will be adding a bonus chapter after Down to Earth that wraps up the issues between William and Aelita as well as wrap up any conflicts that arise in the future. Now, this bonus will change the ending a bit but not by much. So, I can't say much as it will be a surprise, but I think everyone wanted this in the original.
Guest – You finally got the Odd chapter you were hoping for! Also felt right for Aelita to give the dessert back and if Odd made the bet with Jeremy, it would have made no sense. 1. Thanks for the clarification. It will be in this chapter. 2. By the time you read this, it will be done, but I'll see if I can add something as when I'm writing this, I haven't got to the teleportation yet. 3. I could add that. I got an idea. 4. I'll stretch it out. 5. Again, hazy memory. I don't remember if Yumi dueled William in episode 84, but if she did, I will add Ulrich's ability when I research that episode. 6. There is a problem with this, Ulrich would never know he betrayed the group. I'm far from episode, so we'll have to see where this goes. Maybe I'll add something more relevant. 7. I could add that for sure. 8. I'll tell everyone the same I said for episode 76, whatever you choose. But first, this chapter. 9. What warning are you exactly talking about here? From how I read it, it has nothing to do with your idea, it's one reviewer near the beginning of this story that warned me about that episode in particular.

Odd opens the door to his locker in the locker room. "Hey Odd, are you coming or not?" William calls for him as he leans against the door. Odd has a picture of Kiwi on the back door.
"Okay, I'm coming" Odd states, putting on his sneakers.
"You're not wearing socks to get a better feel for the track?" Jeremy asks curiously.
"No, I forgot to put 'em on. Man am I gonna have blisters" he lifts up a foot.
"With your sweating ways, you'll probably be tossing those shoes by the end of today" William comments in amusement. Kiwi suddenly walks into the room holding Odd's socks in his mouth.
"Hm? Nice one Kiwi! Did you see that? Kiwi opened the door to our room and then he managed to find me aal the way on the other side of the campus!" Odd exclaims, Jeremy cringing a bit.
"Just follow the smell, easy" William says.
"Ha ha, very funny! You jokes stink worse than my feet!"
"Jokes on you, it wasn't meant to be funny."
"On your marks, get set, go!" Jim starts the stopwatch, students running off. The boys walk into the field. Ulrich 2 is with them. Sissi turns to them.
"Yoohoo, Ulrich!" she waves to him. "Hey, how do I look?" she flips her hair behind her.
Ulrich 2 looks over her. "Like a normal 14-year-old teenage girl." (She is either 14 or 15 because she is in 9th grade. Don't know, don't care, just deal with it. I will correct it if someone recommends it.)
He continues to walk with the others. She looks at him confused. The three reach Yumi and William joins her. "Hey, miss us?" William asks her.
"What kept ya?" she responds.
"Odd."
"Okay, enough said."
"Go!" Jim says.
They all take off. Yumi picks up speed, William following her. It was now a race between them. Yumi has the heart of an athlete, but William has the heart of a champion. Yumi crosses the finish line, by inches in front of William.
"Very good time" Jim congratulating the two.
Sissi looks at Ulrich 2 closely. "You look completely lost Ulrich. How come?"
"I'm not lost. This is the track, right?" Ulrich 2 responds. Sissi is even more confused.
"Uh oh, trouble at 12 o'clock!" Odd comments as they look on.
"You're off your rocker. You wanna go talk to the nurse at the infirmary!" Sissi comments.
"It's nothing serious," Yumi places a hand on Ulrich 2's shoulder. "He's a little out of sync because, uh, he's in love!" she hugs him.
"Wait a second, are you trying to say that you and Ulrich are-?!"
"Yup. Ulrich finally confessed his feelings and I accepted."
"But that's not possible! Ulrich loves me!"
Jim blows his whistle. "!0th graders, that's it for today! 9th graders, get on your mark, move it!"
"Yumi and Ulrich, I don't believe it! Time to find out what the real deal is!" Sissi narrows her eyes suspiciously.
"That was a close call with Sissi today" Yumi points out at lunch.
"It's also risky too. You can't break up with him if you plan to get with the real Ulrich" Aelita tells her.
"I'll find a way to get rid of her."
"That clone is causing problems. Can't we make him a little smarter?" William asks Jeremy. He gives a look that says no.
"Sorry, like I said, his stupidity is an unforeseen emerging factor beyond our control. To fix it, I'd have to reprogram everything! We're just gonna have to keep improvising" Jeremy explains to them.
"If we can! Sissi's getting very suspicious. Think of what'll happen if she tells her father about Ulrich!" Yumi speaks up.
"Try Ulrich's father. Look at him and Delmas will be the least of your worries. We got to find him quick" Odd adds.
"Listen Yumi, the only solution I can see is to keep pretending you're in love. Consider it practice" Jeremy tells her.
"I guess I need to be ready for the real him" Yumi agrees.
"You have to," Aelita agrees. "If Sissi suspicious, next will be Delmas, then he'll find out about Xana, and God knows what happens next!"
"You've got a very vital mission, you've gotta keep our secret!" Odd tells her. Yumi knows she'll confess to Ulrich, but right now, she has to keep Lyoko and Xana away from Sissi's eyes.
"Anyway, I did improve the security program for the tower that runs Ulrich's clone," Jeremy pushes up his glasses. "Aelita, how would you like to go to Lyoko to install it after class?"
"No problem," Aelita smiles a little. "Who's going with us?"
"Do we all have to go?" William looks to Jeremy.
"Just one of you will be enough to keep an eye on things with Aelita" Jeremy states. Odd raises a finger.
"I volunteer! And I also happen to have a fantastic idea!" Odd exclaims.
"Uh no" William murmurs.
"Why don't we take Kiwi to Lyoko this time?"
"Your brainless dog? But what for?" Jeremy asks him.
"Uh, first of all, my dog is not brainless. Secondly, our natural talents are multiplied on Lyoko. Imagine Kiwi and his sense of smell. He could sniff out monsters from miles away, and he might even be able to sniff out Ulrich on the network!" Odd defends.
"No way Odd! Besides, Kiwi's such a coward, he'd take off the second he saw a kankerlot!"
"Oh yeah? As fast as you did the time you went to Lyoko?" Odd smirks, earning laughter and an annoyed Jeremy.
"You guys never told me that story" William says.
"Only Odd and Ulrich know, since they were the only ones with him" Aelita tells him.
"You'll have to explain to me Odd."
Aelita, Jeremy, and Odd run across the bridge, Jeremy grabbing the rope. Aelita jumps after him. Kiwi barks from Odd's bag.
"Shh, quiet!" Odd commands.
He slides down last. "What happened in here?" Jeremy wonders as there's skid marks all over the floor.
"Looks like some bikers used our factory for training."
"Anyway, they don't seem to be here anymore…" Aelita points out.
Sissi looks down the hall in the dorms. "Coast is clear." She runs to her left and opens the door to see Ulrich 2 inside. He opens his eyes. "Hey Ulrich, we've gotta talk! This thing with you and Yumi is baloney, right? Everyone knows you're mad for me!"
"You?" He sits up. "I'm not mad at you though."
"You're not? Usually, you are. Okay, you're acting weirder than usual, and my father better know about this."
"Hey Sissi, what are you doing in my boyfriend's room?" Yumi demands as she's just arrived.
"Don't think you can snow mw Yumi!" Sissi accuses her. "What did you do to Ulrich? First, him and William trade rooms, and now he's acting like a complete idiot."
"Nothing at all. Ulrich needed space from Odd, and Ulrich has never been the brightest either," she bends down to hug his arm. "And now if you don't mind, we're gonna take a little walk down Lover's Lane."
"Odd's a nice guy!" Ulrich 2 smiles as she leads him away. Sissi looks at them, knowing that she's not crazy.
"Are you ready?" Jeremy asks the two.
"Ready to go" Aelita reports from the scanner room.
"Odd, are you ready?"
"Hang on, don't rush me, huh?" Odd exclaims, looking at his bag. "Okay, ready to go Einstein."
"Odd is that you making that racket?" Jeremy wonders as he can hear rustling.
"Uh yeah. My tummy's rumbling!" Odd has Kiwi underneath his shirt, which is getting a bit difficult to contain. "Would you believe it Einstein? I'm still hungry!"
"Don't worry, this won't take very long."
"Once you're on Lyoko, you're gonna be a big star!" Odd whispers to Kiwi.
"Transfer Aelita. Transfer Odd. Scanner Aelita. Scanner Odd. Virtualization!"
Odd cringes, unsure if this was the best idea…
They both land in the desert sector. "The tower you want is just behind you" Jeremy informs them.
Odd gets onto his feet, looking towards the sky. "Expecting someone?" Aelita teases him.
"Get ready for a big surprise princess!" He points to the sky, but nothing happens.
"Well, what is it?"
"Hm?" He's confused as Kiwi doesn't arrive, rubbing the back of his neck. "Nothing, I was just kidding." He starts to walk off, Aelita just shrugs it off.
"Head for the tower Aelita" Jeremy tells her.
"I'm on my way" Aelita responds, entering the tower.
"I'll stand guard here, kay?" Odd points to the ground. She runs up to the interface and starts interacting with it.
"I'm starting the installation process Jeremy."
Odd starts hitting his ear with his hand. "I hope I didn't mess up!"
Yumi and Ulrich 2 are running across campus. "Where are we going?" Ulrich 2 asks.
"Never mind, just keep running!" Yumi exclaims, Sissi peeking at them behind a pillar. She chases after them, determined to find out what they're up to.
Odd sits on a rock, looking a little disturbed. Something seems to be bothering him. "Jeremy, I hear some kind of noise."
"Hang on. You're right. Two tarantulas just appeared. For now, they're at the other end of the sector. I'm sending you the Overboard just in case."
Odd jumps onto his board. He wobbles a bit for some reason.
"Knock it off Odd! The tarantulas are far away, but still!" Jeremy tells him.
"I-I can't seem to keep my balance! What's wrong with me?" He flies out of control and then falls off his vehicle.
Aelita steps out of the tower. "Okay Jeremy, the programs operational. Where'd Odd go?" She looks around for him.
"He's busy clowning around somewhere?" Jeremy responds.
Odd stands up and immediately falls, unable to get up.
"Now that you're done, I'll bring you all in. Materialization" Jeremy says.
The scanners open and Aelita jumps out, Odd lifts up his shirt. "What's going on around here?" He falls out of the scanner.
"Having trouble standing up?" Aelita wonders.
"There's no way I could've been…oh no!"
"Is something wrong?" Jeremy asks.
"No biggie Jeremy," Aelita steps up to him, helping him up. "Odd just missed snack time, and it doesn't seem to agree with him!"
Yumi and Ulrich 2 run down the steps, Sissi looking over the edge. "What a pest that Sissi is!" Yumi mutters.
Jeremy opens up the manhole cover to get a phone call. He answers it. "Yes Yumi?"
"I'm with Ulrich, and I can't get rid of Sissi! And I've got to go home right now!"
"Just bring him back to the school and we'll take over."
"Okay. Come on Romeo, we're going home."
"Who's Romeo? Is he nice?" Ulrich 2 responds.
"Let's go, I'll explain on the way."
The three walk up to Jim, who's pacing around. "Is something the matter Jim?" Jeremy asks him.
"Uh yeah. Something serious! I spent the last hour looking for my watch. It must have fallen off after Phys Ed!" Jim responds. Odd sniffs around confusing them. "Della Robbia? Have you gone mad?"
He sniffs behind a tree, crawling on all fours. Aelita raises a brow towards Jeremy. Odd holds up the watch in his hand.
"Uhh, is this it Jim?" Odd asks.
Jeremy opens the door to Odd and William's room. He is reading a magazine. "How'd the mission go?" William asks.
"No sweat" Jeremy replies. Odd sniffs the bed.
"Except that Odd's acting really weird" Aelita adds.
"You mean, more than normal?" William responds. Odd jumps off his bed, throwing Kiwi's dog bowl onto the floor and licking it, disgusting them. "I heard about owners sharing their food with their dogs, but this is different."
"Ugh, come on Odd. Get real! What's wrong with you?" Jeremy snatches away the bowl.
"Huh? Oh no, this is getting worse and worse! I don't believe this" Odd starts to panic. He unzips his pants. Aelita shields her eyes.
"Okay, I know it's usually you and me, but my sister's here now, so show some decency!" William calls out.
"Cut that out!" Jeremy hides his face with his laptop.
"It's well, I-I got this thing in my backside, I think…I-I think…I think I'm growing a tail…" Odd says.
Yumi and Ulrich 2 run back into the school when her phone rings.
"Yumi, you've gotta hang out with Ulrich's clone a little longer. We've got…a slight problem," Aelita says while Jeremy researches the problem. "Here's Jeremy." Aelita hands her phone to Jeremy. "Talk to Yumi."
"Yumi, according to my diagnosis, Odd absorbed Kiwi during virtualization!" Jeremy informs her.
"Is it serious doctor?" she asks in concern.
"Pretty much. Right now, his human metabolism is still dominant. But if we don't do something fast, it'll be too late!"
"Think we can use the scanners to separate them again?" Aelita asks him.
"I think we can. We have to send him-uh, them, back to Lyoko."
"Better count me out, I've still got that leech on my tail" Yumi glares towards Sissi.
"No, I know what to do. As soon as I get to the factory, I'll call you back."
"Yeah, okay" Yumi says hanging up.
"Come on, we've wasted enough time. Let's go" Jeremy tells everyone, running out the door.
"What? But can't we eat before we go?" Odd calls out.
"Sure, want some dog food?" William jokes, which Odd backs in response.
They skate down the sewers, Odd running on all fours. Judging by his performance with the Overboard, he wouldn't be able to balance himself on a skateboard.
"Looks like we picked up a stray" William teases.
"If you don't wanna get bitten in the leg William, then shut up!" Odd calls out.
When they reach, they encounter a problem. "Rats! Just what we needed right now" Odd informs them.
In front of the entrance is a trio of bikers. Odd glances at them as William stands next to him.
"Who are these creeps? William asks.
"Uninvited visitors who used the factory for a practice track" Jeremy gets onto his feet. The four walk up to the bikers.
"What are you kids doing here? Beat it right now!" one of the bikers demands.
"Let me handle 'em," Jeremy whispers to the others. "Hello gentlemen, we just wanted to go in, that's all."
"We didn't see your names on the door, so get going" another one tells him.
"Jeremy, you got to know how to brawl. That's 50% of their life" William gets in a fighting stance.
"Is that a kung-fu flip, you shrimp? Buzz off." Odd leaps on the biker.
"He's mean, you better be careful. He'll bite you" Jeremy warns them.
"Hey Rocky, what's wrong with him?" the biker with a bandana asks.
Odd jumps past them and they run away screaming. They run through the entrance and slide down the ropes, reaching the elevator."
"What about the biker?" William asks inside.
"We'll worry about them later. Right now, we gotta take care of Odd" Jeremy responds.
The bikers watch the elevator descend down, gritting their teeth.
"We're all set Jeremy" Aelita reports once they're in the scanner room.
"Odd, I'm gonna virtualize you as you are onto Lyoko. Then I'll restore each of your two DNA sequences which should then go back to their original molecular state."
"What was that?" Odd ask in confusion.
"You go to Lyoko, Jeremy separates you two, you come back separated" William explains.
"Good explanation bro" Aelita gives him a thumbs up. William smiles and nods in response.
"Virtualization" Jeremy says as Odd lands in front of a way tower in the mountain sector, barking.
"It's like I've got the hiccups. This- ruff- gonna take long Einstein?" Odd asks.
"Uh, I can't tell you in dog years. It's pretty complicated, so don't stress me, okay? And don't go anywhere. If you get devirtualized before I'm finished, it'll be a dog's life for you forever!"
"Thanks, I feel a lot better now. I can't believe this. Jeremy, this is all your fault!"
"What?! How is it my fault!? You were the one who brought Kiwi with you into the scanner when I said no to bringing him to Lyoko!"
"Well, if you had said yes, I wouldn't have sneaked him into the scanner with me in the first place!"
"I guess we can't help" William asks in the lab.
"Shh, he's gotta concentrate" Aelita whispers, as a tower activates.
"Oh no, an activated tower in the ice sector" Jeremy says.
"Great, perfect timing Xana. Like we don't have bigger problems to worry about" William adds as he and his sister head back to the scanners.
"Odd, Xana just activated a tower in the ice sector. The brother and sister are handling it. You stay put, understood?"
"Yeah, I get it. Sit, heel, roll over…" he places a hand on his check.
"Transfer William. Transfer Aelita. Virtualization."
The duo appear not too far away from the activated tower…but there are 3 tarantulas, one having Ulrich on top.
"For my master!" Ulrich declares and the monsters walk forward.
"Xana and Ulrich. How original can you get? Jeremy, one vehicle" William asks.
"You got it," Jeremy responds. The Overbike appears and the two jump on. "Be careful." As soon as Aelita gets on, he takes off.
"Hey!" Aelita screams.
"Don't worry sis. With me, your safe" William responds.
"Einstein, do you see what I hear?" Odd speaks up.
"Ouch!" Three monsters are approaching Odd. "Three bloks just showed up. Better hide! I'll call Yumi for back-up." Jeremy informs him.
She's still stuck with Ulrich 2 as her phone rings. "Well, it's about time you called! My day's been just thrilling!"
"Major trouble on Lyoko. Better get over here!" Jeremy informs her.
"Mm…" Yumi sees Sissi's feet behind a sign. "I get the feeling you forgot about Sissi!"
"No problem. Give me a minute, then double time it over here!"
Sissi's phone rings. "That you dad?"
"Elizabeth," Jeremy is using the voice synthesizer. "Why aren't you home yet? You should be in your room doing your homework! Do you understand? Now then, hurry on home!"
"But…but…be right there" Sissi hangs up and reluctantly leaves. Yumi sees her leave.
"She's finally out of my hair! Well, you know the way back! Ciao!" Yumi cheers.
He doesn't respond and just hums.
William rides up to Ulrich. He smirks at the duo. "Attack!" he commands.
The two tarantulas stand up, firing at Aelita and William. He swerves out of the way from the lasers. Ulrich kneels on his tarantula. William speeds the Overbike up…but his sister gets hit, and she lands roughly on the ground.
"Sis!" William looks over to her.
Aelita slowly looks up at Ulrich, who focuses his attention on her instead. William dodges lasers with his armor, losing 5 life points. He jumps into the air and grabs his sword, stabbing the tarantula in a front flip. He lands on the bike as the tarantula is destroyed. He looks for his sister, only to be distracted by the second tarantula.
The three bloks walk towards Odd, who are hiding behind a rock. He suddenly lets out a bark.
"Oops," he says. He covers his own mouth, the bloks approaching his spot. He peeks over a rock. "Laser arrow!" he fires at them and misses. "Oh Kiwi, come on, my front paws aren't just for running and ouch!" The bloks continue to fire.
Yumi steps into the elevator, only to find that it doesn't work. She pulls out her phone and calls Jeremy. "Jeremy, why isn't the elevator working?"
"I shut it off because of those three goons. Are they gone?" Jeremy asks.
"What three goons?" Yumi steps out of the elevator. "There's nobody up here!"
"I'll explain later. No sign of Xana trouble in town?"
"No" she replies as she hadn't seen anything on her way over.
"Good. I'll switch on the elevator right now. See you in a sec!"
She hangs up, only to hear revving. Yumi turns around and sees 3 bikers…who are possessed by Xana. They start up their bikes as Yumi grits her teeth at them. The three ride up towards her.
William swerves left and right to avoid the lasers. He jumps, the Overbike hitting the tarantula. He jumps into the air and throws his sword, striking the symbol, destroying it. He lands safely and retrieves his sword.
"Tarantula threat gone Jeremy" William reports.
"Good, now hurry, you sister is in a jam!" Jeremy urges him.
He looks to see his sister being chased by Ulrich and a tarantula. "Get her!" he orders the monster.
The bloks continue their assault on Odd. He turns his arm around. "Laser arrow!" the arrow bounces off several rocks and destroys a blok. Odd gets hit in the stomach.
"Odd, if you get hit just one more time, you're gonna be in the doghouse for good!" Jeremy tells him.
"I'd like to see you down here!" Odd retorts running away.
"Hang in there. The programs almost finished!"
"Where's Yumi? I thought she was my back-up."
Yumi runs away from the bikers as fast as she can, seeing a beam up ahead with rope dangling from it. She jumps up and grabs it, climbing onto the second floor. She peeks over the edge as the bikers run by. She starts to crawl, but her phone rings. She cringes as a biker looks up.
"Up there!" one of the bikers says. They drive in the opposite direction.
"Thanks Jeremy!" she mutters as she runs off.
Two bloks approach a rock where Odd is. When they arrive, Odd growls and lands on a blok. He fires some arrows and the blok spins around.
"Quit spinning, will ya?!" Odd calls out.
He jumps and lands on the other blok, jumping again and landing in front of them. They fire for Odd again. He runs off.
Aelita is still running from Ulrich, coming to a stop. She turns around and clenches her fists.
"Uh no!" William cries out as he speeds over there on the Overbike. Aelita creates two orbs and fires.
"Energy field!" she fires the two orbs, which Ulrich easily destroys. Ulrich then sees William approaching. He jumps, the Overbike crashing into the tarantula. It explodes right in front of Aelita as William lands on the ground.
"Bro!" Aelita warns as Ulrich super sprints to him and quickly devirtualizes him.
"No!" William cries.
Ulrich smiles at Aelita evilly. "Just you and me now princess!" Ulrich says pointing a saber at her.
William lands on the ground of the scanner room. "William, Yumi's not answering. Something's not right" Jeremy explains in worry.
"I'll find her" William responds.
Yumi is still running from the bikers, ending up in the machine room. She jumps over a conveyor belt, a biker sliding to a stop near her. She crawls underneath the conveyor belt, looking to her left to see the other two approaching. She picks up some rope and holds it up in front of them. The two crash onto the floor, the leader firing electricity at a machine from above.
Yumi moves out of the way, jumping off his shoulders and landing at the stairs. She takes off, but he fires at her back, knocking her down.
"Odd, I've got it. I've reconstructed your separate DNA sequences. Now I just have to load it into the scanner's memory. It's done. Three seconds and you're back to normal. All you have to do is devirtualize yourself" Jeremy tells him.
Odd looks at the two bloks approaching and sighs in relief. "Whew! It's about time. My paws are really killing me. And these guys won't let sleeping dogs lie!" He slowly gets onto his feet. "Don't miss me guys. I can't wait to be my old self again."
"Oh no! Odd, get out of there!"
"Huh?" The bloks fire. "Shield!" Odd destroys a blok with its own laser. "Hey, anymore surprises on the way?" He scratches his ear with his foot.
"Sorry, I didn't delete the old DNA data from the memory. If I did, it would've bugged. Relax, we'll be back online in two wags of a dog's tail!"
"I sure hope so Einstein! How are the others doing?"
"Things could be better. No news of Yumi and Aelita is fighting Ulrich alone."
"Everything's falling apart, and you want me to hang out here scratching flies?" Odd heads toward a way tower.
"Odd, I'm not done yet! It's too dangerous! Do you hear me, Odd?" Jeremy sighs as he doesn't listen. "You're about as obedient as Kiwi!"
Yumi pants as she reaches the control room, leaning against the door in exhaustion.
The bikers are running in her direction as she steps inside. She opens up the door and closes it behind her. She pulls a large cabinet over the door, blocking them from coming in. She walks off as the leader tries to ram through the door. Yumi pants a little while hiding, the leader blasting through the door.
William arrives on the main floor, sliding into the room. He runs off to go find Yumi.
Odd appears in the ice sector, sliding to a stop. Odd uses his enhanced hearing. Aelita opens up her hand for an energy field and Odd follows the noise.
Yumi runs off as the three bikers fire at her. She dives out of the way, hiding behind a beam.
Ulrich slashes at Aelita, who ends up at the edge. She looks at the digital sea below, looking up at Ulrich. She fuses two energy orbs to create a mega one. She fires, but Ulrich absorbs it his sabers and his sabers glow pink. She looks at him in shock as he aims his sabers at her, shooting her with the pink energy beam. He knocks her towards the digital sea.
"Aelita!" Jeremy cries out.
The three bikers lift up some cabinets to throw at Yumi, who ducks her head.
Ulrich walks towards the edge, but Aelita flies over him. He chases after her as she flies towards the tower.
"Super sprint!" Ulrich says as he runs faster than Aelita flying and stops in front of the tower. A bark is heard, and he turns to see Odd tackling Ulrich onto the ground. Odd growls at him just like a dog.
"Odd no! The DNA data is not even finished yet! Odd!" Jeremy protests at him.
Ulrich gets up still with one saber in his hand. Odd leaps towards him.
"Odd!" Jeremy cries.
Aelita runs into the tower. "Miserable pest" Ulrich mutters.
Odd arrives in the scanner room, walking up to the one next him. "Kiwi? Oh, it is Odd's little diggity dog! Who's a good boy? Yeah!"
Yumi comes out of hiding, only to be lifted up in the air by the three bikers.
Aelita lands on the top pad, slowly stepping up to the interface. She presses her hand to sign in.
Yumi groans in pain, the leader gritting his teeth.
"Tower deactivated" Aelita declares.
The bikers turn back to normal, falling unconscious. William rushes over to Yumi. "Yumi no!" He kneels to her, pulling her up. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah, trust me. I'm not leaving until I see Ulrich first" Yumi tells him, and he calls Jeremy.
"Jeremy, Yumi's fine. What about Odd and Kiwi? Excellent!"
"No time to celebrate, I'm afraid. Gotta move those bikers out before they wake up" Jeremy says.
They put the bikers back on the bridge, where they wake up conscious to hear growling. "What's wrong with this dog? Does it have rabies or what?" A biker notices Kiwi foaming at the mouth.
"I don't know, but it's not worth taking any chances. Let's roll!" Another biker says.
The bikers take off, everyone smiling in amusement to see them leave.
Next morning rolls around as Yumi walks up to her friends, waving.
"Hi everyone! Sleep well?"
"You're kidding, right? Odd and Kiwi played all night long! I can't wait till Ulrich's back so I can get some rest!" William complains.
"With Kiwi's talent and my idea of having foam at the mouth with toothpaste, you've gotta admit that we're a great team! With the two of us, Xana won't stand a chance!" Od declares.
"I wouldn't try that again" Jeremy warns him.
"By the way Odd, do you always carry toothpaste with you?" Aelita asks him curiously.
"Yeah, you never know when you're gonna run into a pretty girl!" Odd exclaims.
"Yeah, with your smelly feet and bad breath, Xana won't want to touch you" William says as everyone laughs.
Sissi storms up to the group. "Yumi! I know it's because of you that Ulrich's all messed up and I'm gonna prove it!"
"Don't bother, I know" Yumi responds.
"Aha!"
"I just told him were going to be on a break. He was crushed so don't expect him to be normal anytime soon."
"You are kidding me?!"
"Nice save" Aelita comments.
"I need to stay in a relationship with him, so it doesn't look weird how I love him, break up with him, and then back together again" Yumi responds.
"You know, I think there's still a little Kiwi in me!" Odd comments to them.
"Tail still there?" William asks.
"No! His sense of smell. We're having beef stew and brussel sprouts for lunch today. I can smell it from here!"
They laugh as they're approaching the cafeteria right now!
