Chapter 36 Family Reunion
A.N. – Bonus chapter time! This one was planned from before this story even began. I also have been waiting for this one. This whole entire chapter was written by me and the whole plot was by me. No research. Hope you like it!
admiral809 – 1. On Lyoko, the stats are perfect. So, it wouldn't affect her abilities and skills. Also, it was requested she hide form the group. Sorry if it wasn't explained well. 2. I have to do it in the ice sector. I don't see the Kolossus working in any other sector, and I have to have part III which is the fall of the Kolossus.
Alex2gg – There are videos on YouTube that can explain it better than me. That's what I used to help me get started. Just search how to post a story on . As for writing, you can write in Word, Goggle docs, or any other writing platform.
James Marshall – As of now, I don't know if I can use any of them. I'll keep them in mind if anything in the future pops up.

On a warm sunny Sunday morning, the sun enters Yumi's room, where her and Ulrich are peacefully asleep. They are both fully clothed and it looks like they passed out in each other's arms the night before. Ulrich is laying on his back with Yumi's arm and hand over his chest. Yumi is laying on her side facing Ulrich. The sun creeps in over Ulrich's face, waking him up. He slowly opens his eyes and looks around, forgetting where he was. He looks and notices this is Yumi's room. He looks to his right and sees Yumi still sleeping, which allow shim to crack a smile.
He was happy to be back home and in the arms of the girl he admired from the day he met her. He may have screwed his friends over, and done some unspeakable things, but in the end, they did everything to bring him back home. Although, if it was anyone else, it would have been the same. He's glad that he didn't remember anything form that time. If he knew, he probably would be really disappointed in himself. He was going to get even with Xana someway. He just didn't know how.
Ulrich was now considering how to move without waking Yumi. He wanted a rundown of the times he missed, but he'd get that another day. He had to get back to the academy before Jim notices he is missing. Luckily for him, it was a Sunday, and he had no classes. He tried to move Yumi's arm so he could move out of the bed, but as soon as he tries that, Yumi opens her eyes.
"Trying to sneak out?" She asks him in a half-awake state.
"I'd never known to be the stealth type" Ulrich responds.
"You more of the rush into battle type."
"And you love me because of that," Yumi laughs a little because of this. "Well, since we're both awake, how about a little of a rundown."
"Well, you missed quite a lot. Our group has changed quite a bit. For starters, William earned his strips as one of us."
"He's that good, huh?"
"With you out of commission, he had to step up to make sure Xana didn't win. You missed the beautiful World Wide Web."
"I'd never thought Einstein would ever think of a way to send you through the Internet."
"Real world and all. Aelita opened for the Subdigitals."
"What do mean by opened?"
"They held a concert here, and a contest for an opening act gig. Aelita won and opened for them. It was awesome."
"Hopefully she does it with them again soon. I'd like to see her on a big stage."
"You missed Jim's commando camp of doom."
"Jim's commando camp? What did you guys do?"
"It wasn't us; it was Jeremy. He didn't think we were strong enough, so we recruited Jim to train us, and he put us through hell and back."
"Sounds like fun" Ulrich said sarcastically.
"Yeah, if fell like dying that is," Yumi even managed to laugh from his comment. "Aelita finally saw her father."
"Where?"
"Believe it or not, you brought her to him."
"How?"
"You threw her into the digital sea and her father rescued her from eternal virtualization."
"Wow. She's been dreaming of that ever since she recovered her memories."
"Yeah. Speaking of you missed the biggest reveal. William and Aelita are brother and sister."
"When did you find this out?"
"Shortly after Lyoko was destroyed. Franz sent a message with data to rebuild Lyoko and it said, 'tell your brother William I'm sorry.'."
"How did they take it?"
"They were shocked. Aelita's the older one, but William has been protecting her like big brother even though he's the baby."
"Let me guess, he doesn't like it."
"No, he gets a little irritated when you call him a baby. You missed Odd's parents."
"How disappointed were they?"
"Not at all. According to Odd, no matter what they always support him."
"I would love to have his parents. My dad sets to high standards for me."
"Every parent is different. Your dad just wants you to be the best you can be."
"Well, he's definitely going about doing it the wrong way. Ringing me out ain't helping."
"He'll come around. He was really impressed with the work the clone did to you."
"Dumb as rocks on the outside, but a genius on the inside."
"Like Jeremy with girls. Can talk math to a computer but freezes when he romances with Aelita."
They both laugh at this.
As the two were talking, two siblings were on the move in the park. William met up with his sister in the park.
"I was beginning to think you forgot" Aelita says to him, as she leans against a tree.
"I'm not going to miss this" William responds.
"Let's go. I want this done before Jeremy finishes. Something tells me Xana will do anything if we try to destroy him."
The two head into the sewers and head to the factory.
"Why don't you want Jeremy? This is a big risk you're taking."
"Let him focus on the multi-agent program. This is for us."
The two climb out of the sewers and jumped down to the elevator. William presses the button, and they descend down to the laboratory to prepare the virtualization.
"So, how do you plan to do this? We can't explore the network anymore."
"We still have the recovery program that we set up before Lyoko was destroyed."
"And this will find him?"
"Once we modify it to scan all areas of the network."
"And then?"
"Then once it locates him, rematerialize him."
"Seems a little hopeful."
"I rather see him here then give Xana an opportunity of a lifetime to eliminate him."
"I know how you feel sis. After leaning this truth, I wanted to see my real father just as bad."
"We will…today. I promise. No matter what, we're rescuing our father."
"Okay, mission briefing."
"We use the four way towers to scan the network, activate from sector 5, track him, come back here, rematerialize him."
Aelita set up a self-delayed virtualization and they descended down to the scanner room.
"You know once Xana realizes what we're doing, he's gonna send hell after us."
"Bring it on. I'm ready to do whatever it takes to rescue him."
"Let's do it."
The scanners close and the two are virtualized to Lyoko.
The two land next to each other in the ice sector. They look around at the desolate place. It was almost too quiet for them.
"No welcoming committee?" William asks.
"Xana doesn't know we're here yet. Let's get through here and we won't have to deal with the Kolossus" Aelita tells him, and they run in the direction of the way tower.
Jeremy was still hard at work, but what he wondered is why he hasn't seen Aelita yet today.
"Hm, usually Aelita wouldn't have greeted me by now" Jeremy says and tries calling her. Her gets her answer machine. "Weird. She's not mad at me, is she?"
Jeremy decided not to worry about it and got back to work. The quicker they got rid of Xana, the better.
The two have arrived and saw a few monsters guarding the entrance.
"Looks he knows we're here" William comments.
"They're just there to delay us to allow Xana to summon the Kolossus. We got to get the data to stop that from happening" Aelita says.
"Leave that to me." William engages the monster bunch. "Hey Xana, looking for me." The bloks turn to him and start to fire. He avoids them and launches a sword slash, defeating the bunch. "The tower awaits you sis." He gestures to it.
"Get in. This will also take us to the next sector."
They both enter the tower and Aelita heads up to the top. She logs in and starts looking for the file. "What are you looking for?"
"The file that was used to locate my father before Lyoko was destroyed. I'll launch it from here and it will scan the network. But we need all four before we can rematerialize and locate him."
Aelita accesses the file and activates it as it enters the network from the tower. The two drop to the next sector.
Ulrich reaches the academy but is quickly spotted by Jim.
"Stern, what are you doing out of the academy? Don't tell me you are still going crazy?" Jim asks.
"Why today?" He mutters before coming up with an excuse. "I…uh, went to go run an errand. You know, you can't get everything here Jim."
"Well, next time tell me or Mr. Delmas. If this happens again, you'll get four hours of detention. Now head back to your room."
Luckily for him, this flew past Jim. Maybe his clone gave him this freebie.
Aelita and William all exit out of the tower in the desert sector. Still, there are no monsters waiting for them.
"This place is even more desolate the ice floe" William comments.
"I don't like how quiet it is. Even when I was trapped here, it usually wasn't this quiet" Aelita answers, concerned.
"Maybe Xana's taken an off day. Getting prepared for when we take him down."
"Let's get to the tower."
They head off and as they run, they are shot at. They slide in opposite directions and face the krabs. They shot as they approach them.
"Krabs, how original can you get" William says.
"Energy field!" Aelita declares as she shoots one and the krab is able to destroy it. "That's new."
"Super smoke!" William smokes under the krab and stabs it as he reappears. "Didn't expect me from under you did ya?" The other krab shoots him. He blocks with his sword put is pushed back and the krab explodes. The other one goes to him and prepares to finish him.
"Energy field!" A pink orb hits the krab and William shields his face as the krab explodes.
"Thanks sis. For once, I owe you one."
"Just help me finish this."
The continue to the second way tower in the desert.
As Ulrich is walking back to his room, Odd greets him.
"Hey, good buddy. Feeling better?" Odd asks.
"A little bit. I get some flashes of the nightmares I was having before the core was destroyed" Ulrich responds.
"Where were you last night? We were going to throw you a welcome home party."
"Me and Yumi had some unresolved issues to work through."
"She was really heartbroken after she found out that you were working for Xana."
"Not of my free will though."
"No, but she couldn't accept the fact that you were working for him. I pretty sure it hurt her everytime she had to fight you."
"If I had a choice, I would have never fought any of you. I tried, but Xana was too strong."
"It's over now. Xana's days are numbered with Einstein's multi-agent program which will allow us to get rid of Xana."
"I hope so. We can't allow him to rule this world, or we all will end up serving him."
"That's a grim reality that none of us want to think about."
"Where are the siblings?"
Odd shrugs not knowing where William or Aelita is.
William and Aelita were almost at the way tower, until they saw it guarded by tarantulas.
"Big guns" William says.
"Yeah. Xana's now trying to stop us" Aelita replies.
"How do we do this?"
"Can you handle one?"
"No problem."
"Then I'll lure one away. This is a strategy I used with Odd back in the day." Aelita had a smile on her face.
She activates her wings and heads over to the tower. The tarantulas get into firing position, and she dodges and flies in a direction. One of them goes after her.
"My turn."
William emerges from his hiding spot and runs at the tarantula. It turns to him and starts to fire at him. William knows he will lose life points, but he uses his armor to deflect the shots. When he's within jump range he does a front flip and stabs the tarantula destroying it. William's life points remain at 80.
Aelita is still flying away. She looks over her shoulder and still sees the tarantula. She also notices she is further than she liked to be from the tower. The tarantula starts to stand and fire. One almost hits her wings and almost causes her to fall. One is able to hit her bracelet and immediately deactivates her wings.
"Oh no!" Aelita falls into a flip, and she looks over to see the tarantula right behind her. She quickly gets up ready to fight it, when it is suddenly stabbed from behind and is destroyed. She looks to see her brother holding his sword out where the tarantula was standing. "Nice save."
"I'm not gonna let some mean old overgrown spider get my sister."
"That's funny, considering your fear of spiders."
"Xana helped me get over that from the forest lab. If we went to war, we probably would have seen those overgrown jungle spiders again."
The two run back to the tower and enter. Aelita activates the program from this tower and then the two transition to the next sector, halfway done with the way towers.
"So, what did you and Yumi do last night?" Odd asks.
"Odd, if you are hinting at what I think you're hinting at, no. I admit, I passed out there, but nothing else happened. We kissed and made out, but nothing else" Ulrich says.
"It just seems suspicious."
"I just got back from Lyoko. Having a family is not how I want to be welcomed back."
"What about in the future?"
"Yeah, but not now."
William and Aelita come out of the tower in the forest sector and meet up with some kankerlots guarding the way. They immediately start to fire and the two retreat back into the tower.
"Forget about stopping us. He doesn't want us to come out" William says.
"We have to rush past them. We don't have time to come out and prepare" Aelita replies.
"I got an idea. Wait a minute after I leave."
"What are you planning?"
"Call it a strong bullhead idiot move."
"What will it do?"
"It should get the kankerlots to follow me, but I might take some damage in the process."
William draws his sword and runs out of the tower. The kankerlots fire and then turn around and follow him. Aelita steps out of the tower and sees the path clear. She runs to the next way tower.
William turns around and confronts the kankerlots. He starts going through them but getting hit in the process. After all is said and done. He lost a total of 20 life points, leaving him with only 60 left. He heads back to his sister.
Aelita runs across the path. She sees the tower up ahead. Suddenly a megatank appears and fires. Aelita jumps out of the way. She tries an energy field, but it closes before she can hit it. It rolls in her direction. It crashes into her hiding spot., knocking her back. It moves to where she is, and it opens preparing to fire at her. Suddenly a sword comes flying out of nowhere hitting the target, making it explode.
"Think again pal" William says at the beginning of the path.
"Thanks for the assist" Aelita says to him.
"Xana's starting to pull out all the stops. We got get this done fast."
"Only one more sector before we move to sector 5."
They enter the way tower and activate the program from this tower. Only one more tower between them and victory.
Ulrich was more or less spending the day with Odd, reconnecting. They were in the rec room, playing some foosball. Odd was able to beat him at it, but Ulrich was also out of practice.
"2 and o. You need some practice good buddy" Odd tells him.
"Try spending a week on Lyoko and we'll see how terrible you are" Ulrich says, even though his time was longer.
"Okay, okay, no need to get sour."
"You find it weird how we haven't seen William or Aelita at all today."
"They're probably hanging out. I mean they are related."
"Just think we would've seen them by now, especially Aelita. She's never this quiet."
William and Aelita both emerge in the mountain sector. Suddenly they hear buzzing and Aelita is hit from behind. William blocks with his sword.
"The flying bugs" William comments.
"And they have the advantage here too" Aelita adds.
"And without Jeremy or anybody, we gotta use our ears to listen for them." The buzzing is heard again. "They're coming back."
"Energy field!" Aelita says and is able to hit one as they hear an explosion. "They're hiding in the fog."
"A game of cat and mouse where the cat is blind."
William blocks more lasers as some of them go below the fog level, making themselves visible. William uses his sword slash getting rid of two more and the rest go back into the fog.
"We gotta move. Let's go."
They start running along the path as the hornets continue to fire at them from the fog. They dodge and continue to listen in order to avoid being hit. William is hit from behind and he falls.
"William!" Aelita cries.
"Keep going! Don't worry about me!" He tells her.
William gets up and follows after his sister. He super smokes in front of his sister and throws her and the hornets dive bomb into his sword.
"How did you-?"
"I saw them coming down from the fog."
"Speaking of the tower should be below the fog."
"Want to fly me down there?"
"Why?"
"Once we fall, I'll have 20 life points left. One more hit and I'm gone."
"Good point."
Aelita activates her wings and carries her brother below the fog. She drops him and deactivates her wings. They look ahead and see the way tower up ahead. But Xana was not gonna make this easy for them. In their way, was a single tarantula, two krabs, and three megatanks. The two were both thinking the same thing. This was now a suicide mission.
Odd and Ulrich went to lunch, without Jeremy, William, or Aelita.
"Jeremy, I can see, but William and Aelita too" Odd says.
"Maybe they went into town" Ulrich replies.
"Think they being do more of this after Xana's defeat."
"Well, Xana's been quiet lately. Gotta take advantage of that."
"What about you? You gonna spend all your free time with Yumi after Xana's defeat."
"Well yeah. If we're gonna start dating, and being together, gotta play the part."
"What about your stalker?"
"Hope she got the message."
"Yeah, we saw her expression. It was priceless."
"Somehow, I don't think we are rid of her yet."
"We'll think of something to get her off our backs."
"Hopefully she doesn't find out about us. We are almost done, and we don't need anybody finding out our secret now."
The siblings decided to do a tag team maneuver. William ran at the tarantula and stabbed it, destroying it. Aelita ran at the krabs and fired two simultaneous energy fields, destroying both. William went to confront the three megatanks. He ran past them leading them to the edge of the platform. He super smoked at the last second, making the megatanks fly off the edge. Three beams of light appeared form the digital sea. They entered the tower.
"Can you enter the Scipio code from here?" William asked.
"Hopefully. We only got a minute to get to it, but luckily the edge is right over there" Aelita replies.
They exited and waited for the transporter, but while waiting for the transporter, a megatank appeared. William pushed his sister in the orb and took the hit, getting devirtualized. He reappeared in the scanner.
"Xana, a little ruthless, are we?"
He heads up to the lab to assist his sister.
The transporter arrived in the arena in sector 5. "William are you there?" Aelita asked.
William rushed over to the computer and attached the earpiece. "I'm here sis, but I can't see you."
"You have to activate the sector 5 map."
"How?"
"Enter Carthage Map into the supercomputer then hit enter."
"Okay. Holosphere system online." The map of sector 5 appeared. "Okay, I got you now."
"Okay, I'm off." Aelita runs through the door and headed off to the core zone.
Odd and Ulrich are walking through the dorms, looking to end their day and wait for tomorrow.
"You know you have William's old room, right?" Odd asks.
"Yeah, but why?"
"Well, for multiple reasons. One for me was it was a little lonely without you there and number two for me was I wasn't going to share a room with a clone dumber than me. As for the group, William made a request to move to mine. Also helped a little bit with Xana."
"I'm surprised you didn't drive him bonkers."
"Oh, I did. He just hides it very well. Besides, he was spending more time with Aelita then any of us, apart from Yumi."
"Well, you gotta think, more then ten years apart. There is a lot of catching up to do."
"And you think they haven't fully caught up yet?"
"To them, there is a lot of mystery behind their relationship. They won't be caught up until they both know the whole truth."
Aelita was running in the core zone. "Soon, we'll have the full truth behind our relationship."
"That's good. I need some answers for full closure" William says.
"Your parents didn't give you enough."
"They gave me what they knew. It was a good steppingstone. It just left a couple of questions unanswered and added a few more." William saw something pop up on the screen. "Sis, be careful, you have visitors."
Aelita heard the growling and looked to see the creepers emerge from the walls. She formed two energy orbs and shot them. She was able to destroy one. One fired at her, and she blocked. Two more appear behind her. "Xana's trying to corner me."
"Try to use them to your advantage."
The creepers fired and Aelita ducked as two destroyed each other. The other fired and hit her in the shoulder. Aelita ran up to it and slid before firing an energy field in its face, destroying it. She covers her face as the creeper explodes.
"Nice job sis. You should be near the celestial dome."
"Listen, I'm gonna run you through the rematerialization program. Once I launch the scan program, it will find our dad. Once that's done, you rematerialize him."
"Okay, so I just type rematerialization Franz Hopper once it's done right?"
"Yes, I'm on the elevator."
Aelita was riding the elevator and it stopped. The entrance to the celestial dome opened and Aelita ran up to the interface. She had to run this quickly before the flying mantas showed up.
William saw three blimps pop up on the other side of the sector. "Sis, you got three flying mantas headed towards you. I think they're trying to ambush you because they're coming from the other side."
Aelita started to access the files from the towers. She started to launch the program, when a laser flies past her hands. "Energy field!" She fires at the mantas as they fly over her head and circle back around. "William, when I give you the signal, run the rematerialization program!" She fires another orb, destroying one.
One manta flies at her directly. She tries to defend but the blast sends her flying back. The second one comes at her from the right. She sees it and jumps out of the way. She runs back to the interface and sees the program as almost complete. Aelita fires another orb destroying one more. The last manta fires at her, hitting her.
"Only 20 life points left! Be careful!"
Aelita eyes the program almost done. It is ready to be launched. "Now!" Aelita is hit and devirtualized as William runs the program.
"Rematerialize Franz Hopper" William says as he hits enter and the program scans the network and locates the man, rematerializing him.
William heads down to the scanner room and sees his sister lying on the ground. He runs up to her and picks her up. They look at a scanner that has activated and makes a noise as it opens. As smoke clears, they see two hands grasp the scanners and when it fully clears, they see the face of Franz Hopper looking at them.
"Daddy?" Aelita asks in question.
"Aelita…is…is it really you?" He asks in response.
"Daddy!" She runs up and hugs him with tears in her eyes. He hugs her back. "I though I would never see you again! After Xana destroyed Lyoko, and you were lost on the network!"
"You see, I escaped Lyoko to avoid capture by Xana. I had a feeling that Xana would eventually win at that time. I appreciate you trying to do all you did, but on that day, Xana won. I couldn't stay and fall victim to him again."
"Our friend Ulrich did, but Xana planted a virus in him. We were able to rescue him."
"That's great news. Who's this?" He looks at William.
"I take it you don't recognize me. Not surprised, it's been almost 15 years…dad" William responds.
"William…my son…" Franz says as William hugs him too. "I thought I'd never see you again…after your adoption parents took you."
"They took good care of me."
"I see. I never thought you'd actually reconnect with your sister here or be a Lyoko Warrior."
"I think destiny brought us together. I was destined to be a warrior so I can be close to her."
"You didn't know William was a part of us?" Aelita asks confused.
"No." He responds.
"But in that e-mail, you sent. You mentioned him. Say sorry to him."
"I had a feeling that you and he have met already. I didn't know he was part of your regime."
"Even if he wasn't, we probably would have recruited him anyways."
"It would be hard to hide this but tell me I'm her brother to a man I never heard of" William responds.
"What's the status of Xana?" Franz asks, standing up.
"We almost have gotten rid of him. Jeremy has a multi-agent program that should be able to wipe him out" Aelita responds.
"How bad is it?"
"Really bad. Xana has already taken control of hundreds of supercomputers throughout the world. And we only destroyed three of them."
"You better do it quickly. Knowing Xana, if he attacks the world, the human race won't survive or be quick enough to put up any kind of resistance."
"We know. Xana has hundreds of robots in Siberia, ready to attack and enslave all of humanity."
"We really need to move."
"Hold on, one quick question. Why did you give me away?" William asks, since his adoption parents only told him their part.
"Back when we had you, we were surprised. We already had Aelita, but my wife, Anthea, never knew she was pregnant. Around the time you were born, we had a feeling someone was watching us. We knew we couldn't protect both of you. So, your adoption parents, the Dunbar family, who were also good friends of us, agreed to take you as their son as a personal favor to us. We told them that if we were found, we couldn't protect you and my daughter. They even kept your birth name of William but gave you their last name so you wouldn't be connected to me in anyway and you wouldn't be put in danger. We quickly moved to France once my wife disappeared a couple of weeks after you left. I guess eventually your parent moved too and you ended up at Kadic."
"I kinda bounced around schools."
"Expulsion?"
"Multiple times. I guess it was destined to happen. Had to find the school my sister was at." William glances to her. She smiles softly.
"Well, I better help Jeremy with finishing the program. I want to make sure Xana never comes back."
"Well tell them" Aelita says as her and William text the group.
The group all met at the bridge and Jeremy was first to ask questions.
"So, what is it you wanted to show us Aelita?" Jeremy asks.
"Come with us. I think you all be surprised" Aelita responds.
They take the elevator down to the lab. They saw the chair faced towards the computer. "Ah, welcome everyone" Franz spoke as he turned around. Everyone gasped.
"Is…is that-" Yumi starts.
"Franz Hopper?" Jeremy finishes in shock.
"Surprise!" Aelita and William say in unison.
"It's nice to finally meet all of you" Franz says to them.
"And how do we know your not Xana in disguise! He did it before!" Ulrich states.
"You think Aelita, and William would be alive if I were Xana?"
"Good point."
"Aelita, what did you do?" Jeremy asks.
"I used the old program we used to find my father and I modified to scan the network. It found him, and we rematerialized him. You're not mad I hope" Aelita asks.
"No, I'm thrilled. Finally, I…I mean us, finally meet the great Franz Hopper!"
"Spare me the praise. I'm surprised you don't see me as an enemy. Considering all I did with the creation of Xana" Franz says.
"How could we? You did what you thought was right to save your family" Yumi says.
"We would do the same" Ulrich adds.
"No matter what. We are all one big family, and you're part of it!" Odd adds next.
"I'm glad you see me that way. Jeremy, link your computer to the supercomputer. Let's finish the multi-agent program to finish Xana."
Jeremy smiled and agreed. Jeremy thought with two genius minds working on it, they would finish this in no time. Now the full Hopper family was reunited. They will be happy…especially after Xana's defeated.
