Chapter 37 Fight to the Finish

A.N. – The final part in the three-part arc of the Kolossus and the death of Xana! It's been one wild ride with secrets, twists, turns, and custom battles and events throughout! Time for the Lyoko Warriors to end this secret war of theirs. Time for the fall of the Kolossus! P.S. – Research for the story is all over! The final two chapters are ready and waiting!

James Marshall – Unfortunately, I can't do that because I never seen the show, so I would absolutely have no idea what I'm writing about. On the second one, it's an idea I can keep in mind. On the HP one, I don't know enough about it to write it. I only watched one movie.

Franz Hopper was running through the factory. He came to the control room and couldn't get through the door. A strange figure walked towards him.

"You can run, but you can't hide from me Franz" the figure said, his hands sparking with electricity. He shoots his electricity at him.

Aelita sits up with a scream. She rubs her head. Aelita steps out of the room and heads to the showers. After freeing their father, a couple of days ago, she thought she would have no more nightmares. It was still troubling her. What was Xana planning?

Aelita closes the door to the showers. She turned on the water and let it wash over her…

Jeremy is at his computer, working on the multi-agent program with Franz. They linked together to have collective knowledge on making this. Jeremy wasn't too thrilled about William and Aelita going behind his back, but he was glad to have a genius help him. Some one knocks on his door.

"Come in," Aelita steps in wearing her pajamas. "How come you're not asleep at this hour?" He looks over his shoulder to her.

"Because it's time to get up" she stares at him in confusion.

"Oh wow," he murmurs to himself. "Time sure does fly." He didn't even know it was morning.

"Jeremy, ever since my father was freed, you haven't slept," Aelita sits on the bed. "You gotta get some rest."

"No time," he turns to her with a smile. "With all the progress your father and me have made, we almost finished the program."

"Already?"

"Yeah, we'll be able to attack replicas simultaneously! And soon we'll be able to wipe out Xana for good!"

"And you're ready to die of exhaustion for that?" She raises a brow at him.

"Me and your father both are! We both want to get rid of Xana as soon as possible." Aelita stands up and walks to the door.

"Breakfast time…" She leaves to see a family face.

"Good morning sis" William says standing outside, already dressed.

"Good morning. Your up early" she replies to him.

"I'm an early riser. Got to beat everybody and then meet Yumi."

"Well, I'm gonna go get dressed. See ya."

"Later."

Ulrich peeks out of the room. "Hey Aelita" he says.

"Hey Ulrich, happy to be back at the dorms?" She asks.

"Better than Lyoko."

"Well Stern, glad to see you've got your head screwed back on, you've gotta pace yourself kid. Just because you're half as bright doesn't mean you'll go twice as far. Something like that" Jim says passing by.

"Uh what?"

"Looks like you have to earn your rep back good buddy," Odd says showing up. "Oh, William told me to tell you to meet him at the principal's office. You're gonna switch rooms back."

"Ok, I'll get ready."

"So, if I understand Mr. Dunbar and Mr. Stern," the principal is talking to the two. "You wish to change back to your original rooms." They both nod yes. "Okay then, give me a few days and you'll be all set up."

The two leave, high fiving.

William steps in the cafeteria and Ulrich is stopped by Milly and Tamiya.

"Ulrich, there's a rumor going around that you have a twin brother, can you confirm?" Milly asks.

"Yeah, I can confirm. I can confirm that I'm not in the mood to answer stupid questions regarding dumb gossip. Now if you excuse me, I'm going to breakfast."

The group is all gathered at their table and Ulrich sits with his lunch.

"Hi guys" Ulrich says to them.

"Hey," they all say and Yumi kisses him on the cheek.

"So, how are you feeling?" Aelita asks.

"Great! I feel like a new man. But everything else feels normal" Ulrich replies.

"We're just glad to have the old Ulrich back" Yumi says.

Ulrich takes a croissant, eating it. "I prefer not eating on Lyoko to this!"

"I'll take it off your hands" Odd offers.

"Go ahead. I don't know hoe you can eat them."

"Just watch."

Yumi glances to Aelita. "Are you worried about Jeremy, or your father?" Yumi asks her.

"Yes, but…" she turns to Yumi. "That's not all." The boys stare at her. "Well, I had a nightmare that our father was attacked by one of Xana's specters/ I have a feeling that Xana may try to…kill him."

"Hey, don't worry. We'll deal with Xana before then. Plus, if he tries to mess with him, we'll be there to protect him."

"That's for sure! He's no match for the one and only Odd the Magnificent!" Odd brags.

"You're gonna scare him with those crumbs on your teeth" Ulrich jerks a thumb to his mouth, and Odd covers. Everyone couldn't help but laugh at him.

"Hey Ulrich, that was a pretty cool gag! We really thought you lost it" Matthias says to him.

"And just in case, we don't mean you lost something! We thought you lost your mind!" Another student says.

"You two will lose your minds if you don't beat it!" Ulrich threatens and they run. "Okay, explanation time. What happened here during my absence?"

"The clone Jeremy made for you took everything literal and acted stupid on the outside" Aelita starts.

"People thought it was joke at first" Yumi adds.

"But then he started causing problems" Odd adds next.

"And people thought you went mental" William finishes.

Ulrich puts his head in his hands. He has a LOT of work to restore his image.

Jeremy is still hard at work with Franz on the program. Suddenly a chat pops up with Franz telling him the program is complete.

"Okay. Time to finish this" Jeremy picks up his phone.

Aelita's phone rings and she answers it. "Jeremy…what?"

"Yeah…we completed the multi-agent program," Jeremy closes the door behind him. "He wants all of us at the factory now."

"Are you sure? We need to make sure it'll work before we go attacking."

"Franz checked all my calculations. They all check out."

"You may be right."

"Better hurry."

"Be right there," she replies back, hanging up. Jeremy runs out of the dorms. "The multi-agent program is complete. Let's head for the factory."

"I can't wait to get back out there on Lyoko. I've got a score to settle with Xana. He's not gonna get away with turning me into a puppet" Ulrich says as they all leave.

Sissi is in the park, listening to the Subdigitals. Jeremy runs by and she watches him dash past the trees. "Well, well, well…" she pauses her Walkman and walks after him. He closes the manhole cover and climbs down the ladder. Sissi stops and looks around, not having seen where he went. "Huh…where could he have gone? He couldn't have just disappeared like that. Hey!" The five warriors slide to a stop.

"Sissi!" Ulrich exclaims.

"Looking for your friend sourpuss, I guess?"

"What are you doing here?"

"The park is still open to everybody, last time I heard. But what about you? You five look like you're in a hurry."

"Well, uh…"

"We've got ah…water polo practice!" Yumi smiles nervously. "Uh, right now too!"

"Yeah," Ulrich chuckles anxiously and she has a blank look on her face. "And we're late too, uh…we've got practice in the gym with uh Jim."

"Yeah, he, uh, called us and told us we're late, so we're rushing like mad" William adds.

"Mmhm. I'm not as stupid as you think, what are you doing here?" Sissi demands to them.

"Nothing at all," Odd states as the others run off. "Hey, you would look really great as a blonde, suits your personality! Bye now!" He runs off and she narrows her eyes.

Jeremy arrives at the bridge. Once he reaches the lab, he speaks to Franz.

"Jeremy, where are your friends?" He asks.

"They're coming" Jeremy responds.

The others arrive at the school boiler, but finds it locked.

"Bummer! The door's locked!" Ulrich exclaims.

"That's the first time ever, bad sign" Odd comments at this.

"You can get in if we go outside of school" Aelita suggests.

"That's a long way to go" Yumi frowns a bit.

"Is there any other choice?" William asks.

"Through the city" Aelita responds.

"And we don't have time for that" Yumi adds.

Aelita's phone rings and she answers.

"Aelita? What are you waiting for? We got an important mission to do" Jeremy reminds her.

"We're sorry Jeremy, we'll be there as fast as we can…"

"We have no choice, let's move it guys!" Ulrich declares.

They run outside and are stopped by Sissi again.

"What's wrong? You run out of water in the gym?" She asks.

"Sissi, why do you always have to-"

William places a hand on Ulrich's shoulder and takes over. "Sissi! My lovely princess, and beautiful flower" he reaches out to hug her, the others smiling in amusement.

"What's wrong William?! Have you gone bananas like Ulrich?" Sissi shouts at him.

"No, I just realized how much I missed you and your true beauty till now" he tilts her chin.

"But you see me every day, and I haven't left. Hands off or I'll tell my father!" She pushes him away. "Would you guys tell him to stop-" she sees the other four are gone. "Huh? Where'd they go?"

"Well, if you're gonna break my heart, I guess I'll try elsewhere. See ya." William walks away.

"See you dork!" She glances at him.

The Lyoko Warriors skate through the sewers. William uses the passage in the park to catch up.

The four run across the bridge. Aelita and Odd swing down, followed by Ulrich and Yumi. The lab doors open, and Jeremy and Franz turn to them.

"We were beginning to wonder if you'd ever get here!" Jeremy exclaims.

"It took a little while to get Sissi superglue off our tails" Odd tells him.

"Mr. Delmas always thought she'd be a handful when she grew up" Franz replies.

"She's more of a problem for us than Delmas" Yumi says.

"Where's William?" Jeremy asks.

"Right here" William replies climbing down.

"What held you up?"

"I had to get rid of Sissi."

"Okay, the multi-agent program is complete. You'll need to upload it from a way tower in the ice sector and then activate it from sector 5" Franz explains the mission.

"All five of you are going in. Head down to the scanners" Jeremy says next.

They reach the scanners, running inside. Aelita stays behind as she gets another vision. The strange man approaches her surrounded father, his hands sparking.

"Aelita?" Yumi and everyone else are staring at her. "Are you alright?" She rubs her head as Yumi approaches her. "It's gonna be okay."

"Yeah sis. We'll get rid of Xana" William reassures her.

"Yeah, I know…" Aelita whispers quietly.

"Okay, everyone in. I'll do the boys first" Franz tells them.

William, Odd, and Ulrich all step into the scanners.

"It doesn't matter if Xana sends an army or the Kolossus. We're not scared, I say bring it on!" William exclaims as his scanner closes.

"William's right. Xana can send as many monsters as he wants, we're still gonna blow them away" Ulrich comments as his scanner closes.

"Yup, blow them away, then blow Xana away!" Odd exclaims as his scanner closes.

"That's what I like about the guys. They're so 'subtle'" Yumi comments on them.

"The tower is due south from your virtualization. Transfer Ulrich. Transfer Odd. Transfer William. Scanner Ulrich. Scanner Odd. Scanner William. Virtualization" Franz says as he successfully virtualizes them.

They all land and Ulrich looks at his new look. A full yellow body suit, with a different headband, and his twin blades. "Twin blades, perfect for getting a close shave" Ulrich says.

"I think that's the only thing that you kept from your time with Xana" William comments to him.

"The girls are coming," Franz informs them. Yumi and Aelita both have a smile on as the scanners close. "Transfer Aelita. Transfer Yumi. Scanner Aelita. Scanner Yumi. Virtualization." The two girls land near the boys.

Yumi looks to the new Ulrich. "I like your new outfit. Makes you look really handsome."

"Thanks" Ulrich responds.

The five head for the way tower and Aelita heads inside.

"Activate the program from there and I'll send you all to sector 5 to launch it" Franz informs her.

Aelita floats to the top and interacts with the interface. Suddenly, the superscan activates.

"What's happening?" Franz asks Jeremy.

"Xana. He's activating a tower. I wonder what he has up his sleeve this time" Jeremy wonders.

Suddenly the wires start sparking, and then a bright flash blinds them for a second. There is a strange man standing behind them where the flash occurred.

"What is that?"

"A specter!"

"Hello Franz. I told you we would meet again" Xana says to Franz.

The other four warriors are standing outside the tower waiting for Aelita to activate the program. William suddenly looks over to a side and sees monster approaching.

"Guys, looks like we have company" William says to them all. There are mantas, bloks and krabs approaching.

"Okay, we got to deal with this. I'll take the mantas, Yumi and William, you deal with the krabs, Ulrich take the bloks" Odd commands them.

"Okay" they all reply and engage their enemies.

"Dad, the program is almost ready. Activate the transporter to sector 5" Aelita says but gets no response. "Daddy? Jeremy?"

The two are dealing with the specter and they run into the elevator. It goes up and they gasp in relief.

"We have to get back to the lab" Jeremy tells Franz.

Suddenly the specter goes through the ground jumping up. "You're not gonna get away from me that easily" Xana smirks evilly as he lands.

"Jeremy, get to the lab. Activate the program. It will be the only way to get rid of him" Franz tells him, and they take off in opposite directions. The specter goes after Franz.

Aelita finishes the program, when the tower shakes. "Dad, what's happening?!" Aelita cries with no response. She runs out of the tower and sees the others fighting manta, bloks, and krabs.

"Laser arrow!" Odd fires at a manta.

Aelita looks to see the Kolossus. "The Kolossus!"

"Yeah, and he looks ready for action too." A manta flies past Odd.

Yumi and William deal with the krabs, and Ulrich deals with the bloks. She misses, while William blocks the lasers. Ulrich is deflecting lasers.

"We're gonna need our vehicles" Yumi says.

"Jeremy, dad, are you there? What's wrong?" Aelita asks for them, but they are not there. "Jeremy, dad, can you hear me?"

The mantas fly around the Kolossus as it walks forward. "I don't get it. Jeremy or Franz should have warned us that the Kolossus was on the way. Something must've happened. We have to play for time!"

"Yumi, use the monster to get back to the factory."

"Okay Aelita."

"William, take care of the krabs, I'll takes the bloks, and then follow me" Ulrich tells him.

"Okay" William responds.

Yumi runs up to the Kolossus. "For once, I have to bow down to you Xana" she braces herself and the monster crushes her. Yumi rematerializes and heads up to the lab.

William uses his super smoke to avoid the krabs and goes behind before jumping on top of one. He stabs the eye and then throws his sword to destroy the other. He picks up his sword and waits for Ulrich.

Ulrich approaches the 3 bloks. "Triplicate!" Ulrich splits into 3 and attacks. His clones destroy two of the three. He approaches the final one. "Triangulate!" He runs around the blok and destroys it. "Fusion!" William runs up to him. "You and me together. I'll take the head; you take the sword. Super sprint!"

"Super smoke!"

The two head for one of the arms. They both head for the same one. William helps Ulrich onto the arm as they travel to the top.

Franz enters the small machine room and looks for the specter. He sees nothing, but then a bolt of electricity comes form the catwalk.

"Run Franz! Run!" Xana exclaims, laughing.

Odd and Aelita run away as the manta fire behind them. They slide to a little slope as the manta dive bombs them.

"That manta just won't give up!" Aelita exclaims.

"And he's making me dizzy too!" Odd adds.

"Energy field!" Aelita fires, defeating the monster.

"Bulls-eye Aelita!" Odd pumps his fist.

Jeremy finally reaches the lab as Yumi comes up the ladder. "Where's Franz, Jeremy?" Yumi asks.

"Somewhere in the factory. Xana is after him" Jeremy responds.

"I'll go help him."

"Hey, do you read me guys?" Jeremy says to the others.

"Loud and clear! It's about time Einstein," Odd calls out. "You almost missed a wild party with the Kolossus and a bunch of monsters!"

"Where's my father?" Aelita asks.

"Being hunted by Xana. Yumi's going to help him," Jeremy informs her. He pulls up footage of Franz and the specter. "Let's hope Yumi gets to him fast."

Xana fires more electricity at Franz, trying to kill him. "You can't stop me Franz!" Xana says evilly. Yumi comes in and tackles him.

"Maybe he can't, but I can!" Yumi exclaims to him.

Xana grins at her. He fires electricity getting her off of him. Yumi goes flying across the room.

Ulrich and William continue to the top. A manta flies by and Odd jumps up. "Shield!"

"Energy field!" Aelita fires, destroying it.

"How's that for teamwork?" Odd asks her.

Jeremy sighs in relief, leaning back in his seat. "Good work, you two. Oh! I don't like that. Holoweb system online. Oh no! Be careful, Xana's drawing energy from all the replicas to strengthen the Kolossus! Ulrich and William, you two have to find a way to slow down the Kolossus."

"We've just about reached his head," Ulrich reports, drawing a sword. "William, be ready, I got an idea." Ulrich looks to where he's going to. "Super sprint!" He runs across the head and jumps off. "Impact!" He stabs the head, hanging on. The Kolossus nearly swings William off.

"Well done, Ulrich! You immobilized the Kolossus! For a while, at least. William, you gotta move."

"Let me get there first!" William retorts back, trying to stand without falling.

"Jeremy, should we deactivate the tower?" Aelita asks.

"No, Hopper told me to run the program" Jeremy responds.

"But he's in danger!"

"Aelita, your father has been at Xana's mercy for 2 years. He would happily die as long as Xana goes with him. It might be the only way to save him."

"Well, hurry up and run it, because if he gets his strength back before William's ready, we're done" Ulrich calls out, still hanging on.

"Almost there" William says.

"Okay, but for it to work, you've gotta be in sector 5. Aelita, you uploaded it right?" Jeremy asks.

"Yeah, it's done" Aelita responds.

"Uh, Jeremy did you forget about the Kolossus? When the transporter arrives, he'll be playing ping pong with it!" Odd exclaims.

"Ulrich and William are on it" Jeremy responds.

"They're on it alright. Let's hope they don't fall off it."

"I hope my father's doing okay…" Aelita murmurs.

Yumi swings her leg to kick the specter, but it grabs her foot, and then swings her around before releasing her, sending her flying into a wall. Franz uses this to escape.

"I'm entering the code Scipio" Jeremy types it in and presses enter.

"There it is" Aelita points to it.

The Kolossus is right behind them. "There he is!" Odd exclaims.

Ulrich is about to lose grip. "William, now!" Ulrich exclaims.

William dive bombs the target, draws his sword and stabs it as Ulrich falls off. William rolls over to the two as Ulrich falls further away.

"So long, volcano brain! Say hello to Xana for us!" Odd says as he, Aelita, and William are taken to sector 5.

The Kolossus falls backwards, and Ulrich is unable to escape, and is devirtualized as the monster lands on him. The Kolossus has finally been defeated.

Ulrich emerges from a scanner. "Good job Ulrich, but you can celebrate with William another time. Go help Yumi and Franz" Jeremy tells him.

"Gotcha" he runs off.

Yumi tries to escape the specter, but she can't.

"You don't give up, do you Xana?" She asks.

"I only wanted Franz. You just got in the way" Xana responds.

She tries to kick him, but he blocks with his arm. He then hits her with some electricity. He laughs evilly. Franz is almost at the control room.

"Aelita, Odd, William, how you doing?" Jeremy asks.

"We're in the celestial dome" Aelita reports as the three run onto the platform.

"Perfect. Access the file and launch the program."

"Okay Jeremy."

"Uh oh," Odd looks up. "Looks like we're in for a flying fish show."

"They just won't give up" William murmurs, drawing his sword.

"You there Aelita?" Jeremy asks.

"Yes" she answers.

"Run the program right now!"

She tries to but is unable to.

"Well? Is it working?" Odd asks.

"Jeremy, what's going on?" Aelita asks.

"I don't get it," Jeremy says. "We're missing something, but the program is complete!"

A manta fires at Odd and he fires back. "Laser arrow!" He gets hit again and kneels.

Yumi tries to grab a crowbar, but Xana steps over it. She tackles him, finally landing the first hit. Xana fires lighting at her, sending her to the wall.

"Hey Xana!" Ulrich jumps in out of nowhere, knocking Xana off his feet. "That one was for taking me prisoner!"

Xana gets on his feet. "Think what you want. You were my greatest assistant" Xana says to his former puppet.

"You okay Odd?" Aelita questions as he gets up. "Odd, watch out!"

He gets hit from behind and devirtualized. Aelita is also hit in the stomach.

"Sis!" William rushes over and picks her up.

"What do we do now?"

Ulrich tries to kick Xana, btu he steps back. Ulrich thinks he has him cornered, but Xana phases through a wall. He steps out next to him after Ulrich hits himself. Xana pins him to the wall.

"I should just kill you and your girlfriend right now!" Send you to the afterlife together" Xana says, his hands sparking.

Ulrich is able to sweep Xana's feet, making him let go. "I've been waiting to do something like that to you for a long time" Ulrich smiles proudly.

"I wasted enough time with you!"

"Ulrich, no!" Yumi cries as Ulrich is thrown across the room.

"Now, it's your turn Hopper."

Franz is leaning against the wall as he hears approaching footsteps. He walks over to the door, trying to open it.

"There is nothing we can do!" Aelita cries.

"I don't get it! What is the missing key? This is our one chance to destroy Xana!" Jeremy exclaims.

Aelita and William try to destroy the mantas but miss.

"Don't worry sis. We'll find another way to get rid of Xana" William says as he holds out his hand. Aelita grabs it and suddenly a glow emits between the two of them.

"What's this?" Aelita asks.

Jeremy sees something. "The missing key. Aelita, try to launch the program, but don't let go of William. Trust me."

They nod to each other and Aelita presses her hand to the interface. The interface disappears. Something emerges form the heart of Lyoko, traveling all the way down. It exits the dome and destroys the mantas. All the sectors are engulfed in white.

Xana has finally caught up to Franz and starts to choke him with electricity. He laughs evilly when he starts to fade. Xana holds his head.

The program enters the network, destroying the supercomputers.

"The program is destroying all the replicas!" Jeremy exclaims. "Xana is dying!"

"Finally," Franz says weakly. The specter completely disappears and Franz collapses.

All of the towers turn white, and the last replica disappears. "It can't be, but it is…" Jeremy states in shock.

Yumi and Ulrich return to the scanner room to welcome back Aelita and William after hearing Xana's death.

Aelita and William still don't know what happened to their father. "Aelita, William, we did it. Xana's been destroyed. I'll bring you two back" Jeremy tells them.

He removes his headphone and places it down as he runs to the ladder. He waits in front of Aelita's scanner. Jeremy catches her.

"Jeremy…our father…is he-" Aelita says in tears.

"I don't know. Just know no matter what, I will always love you."

Suddenly the elevator opens to reveal Franz Hopper, standing.

"Daddy? You're alive!" Aelita exclaims running to him.

"Xana took the wind out of me, but I survived" Franz says to her.

Everyone was in smiles. Their mission was a success. After 2 years, Xana was finally defeated.

A.N. – And the Lyoko Warriors ultimate mission has been completed and Xana's newest monster falls, along with him! I thought the connection between Aelita and William would be better for activating the program then just Aelita doing it herself. Only one more chapter left, and it will be all memory based.
